Debbie, TX: Alli was a disappointment to me. I was looking forward to the convenience of being able to get this over the counter, but I didn’t lose weight with it.

Danica J.: I was really hopeful about this, it seemed like a good caffeine free option that would help me, finally. But it took for ever for me to lose even my first 5 pounds. Really, I had to work pretty hard on diet and exercise too, so it’s hard to be sure that it was really the Alli that did it. I wouldn’t get to excited about this, you will only be disappointed.

Bianca: The gastrointestinal side effects were just too much for me. I felt gassy and bloated all day long. It’s hard to feel thin when you are like a big balloon.

Tiffany D.: Well, I was warned about the possible side effects of using Alli, but I didn’t think it would be this constant. The gas I’m getting from this is very uncomfortable, I REALLY have to watch what I eat.

Margot: I do think this pill was over-rated a lot bcs it used to be prescription only and now is over the counter. People like the idea of being able to get what they can’t have, you know? But I think once people understand how slow and not very powerful this is, they are gonna lose patience. I know I did.

Chellie: When I first started seeing ads for Alli I was excited to be able to get something like this without a prescription. My sister had used Xenical and told me about the side effects she had. I thought Alli would be less, but I still have a lot of the same problems she told me about, like oily spots and bloating.

Jack@Gmail.com: DO NOT TAKE ALLI IF YOU LIKE HAVING CONTROL OF YOUR BOWELS!!!

OliveOyl: For me, it’s really difficult to stick to a restricted diet while using Alli; to avoid the unpleasant effects, I cannot eat anything fattening. But that’s what I crave! I’ve heard about Hoodia for curbing hunger, I wonder if it works with Alli? It’s an herb.

LeslieAnn: Well, I think this might be an OK product for me….I like going at a slow & steady pace with weight loss, anyway. The thing is, I HAVE To remember to take vitamins, because my hair has gotten kind of brittle, I think due to the non-digestion of fats. You are supposed to take a multivitamin or else you will be missing fat soluble vitamins. I am going to keep trying.

Eleanor: As much as I want and NEED to lose this weight, I am not sure how long I can continue using Alli. I don’t want to give up quite yet, but I’m not seeing any weight loss, and it’s been 3 weeks.

Kiterunner@aol.com: I was sooo happy when I saw this right at Kroger’s! I thought, wow, i finally get to have this product without the embarrasment of having to go to the doctor’s office to get it. Well, I was wrong about the embarrassment factor…I had an “accident” while I was on a treadmill at the gym. I immediately stopped using it.

Junior: USsing this Alli stuff that I bougt at the store made me feeel kinda sick. and it gave me mad gas. i thought it help me loose weihgt but no.

ChampsElysees71: You know, the side effects might just be tolerable if this pill was really POWERFUL. But it doesn’t do anything for your metabolism! it just messes with your digestion. It takes forever to work, and if you’re like me, you’ve already spent a lifetime being fat & you want something that works sometime before you are in the nursing home.

Sydney: From what I’ve read, Alli is basically Xenical at half the strength. Well, I just saw that with Xenical, you can only expect to lose 6 pounds per year!! THat means like a measly 3 lbs per year with Alli. Lame.

Anonymous: Maybe I was expecting a dream come true, I don’t know, but I followed all the instructions and everything for Alli, and I lost 2 lbs the first week, that’s it. I continued using it for 3 months and never lost any more weight. I can say that I have become a little more active and have been eating healthily, but I could’ve done that without spending money on these pills.

bernadette: Well, i think you need to remember that the reason people have incontinence problems with Alli is because they ate too much fat. So you really have to cut down on the fat. What confuses me is, if you eat a low fat diet so you won’t have an “accident” on this pill, why do you need the pill at all? I’m still not sure about this. I bought it, and i’m gonna try it. We will see.

Teachers_Pet@aol.com: This was pretty expensive (almost $60 bucks a bottle), given how slowly it works….I think I was definitely expecting something a little bit more dramatic for that price. It seems like this is more hype than substance, unfortunately.

Maria: So I bought the starter pack of Alli, and THEN I read more about it. I guess I was just eager to start losing weight. Anyway, I read that using this is not even meant to help you lose a lot of weight. I never got past that starter pack.

Maddie: They make a whole big ordeal out of this, it comes with this big old instruction pamphlet that’s ridiculously long. It’s annoying and intimidating, just getting started. Then your progress chugs along at a snails pace, too. I just found this to be a frustrating expeirence. After I finished my initial bottle that was it.

Joachim: Oh, I was excited to try Alli, but now I am not so sure. I want to lose weight but I don’t want these effects. Maybe I’ll talk to my doc first.

Dorothy, NC: In the beginning, I thought I liked knowing that all that fat was just being eliminated…but I sure did pay a price for it! And it was so disappointing that despite all of that, I only lost 4 lbs! I was not too impressed with Alli.

BethY@comcast.net: My problem with Alli was, it never helped me curb my appetite. So when i stopped taking it, & the fat was not being passed out of my bowels undigested anymore, my overeating really caused me to pack it back on, fast. I regained the 7 pounds i lost so fast my head was spinning!

Cheshire_Kat81: Alli is not really a very natural way to lose weight. Forcing your body to not properly digest foods is actually not such a great idea. You miss nutrients, and worst of all, you never really LEARN how to keep the weight off for life.

Will_Orange74: I am always wary of these drugs marketed by the powerhouse pharmaceutical companies, i prefer to stick with herbal stuff that’s a little more natural. I feel that way even more after reading the review on this.

MandiMix@yahoo.com: i think 3 lbs a yr is PATHETIC?! i can loose 3 lbs just by sweating.

Valerie: Well I made sure to read up on this before even thinking about taking Alli. I mean, I really did my homework, I was hoping it would work but I didn’t want to take any chances. Anyway, I found some disturbing things on the website about the “treatment effects” and they sound pretty harsh. I don’t want any “loose stools.”

Marella: Well, I feel like its very easy to attack Alli since it is so hi-profile & all. But I think its not to bad, I am really cutting back on my fat & exercising. I do think the fear of fecal incontinence helps keep me in line. It can be a powerful motivator, no one wants to soil themselves.

Jovan: SO I saw this stuf sittin on this shelf (alli) at the drugstore and I picked it up cuz my girlfriend told me i was having anxity attacks and needed to chill. i thought it was suppsed to work for that. i dont think so tho. it aint working yet.

Jackrabbitslim@hotmail.com: I agree with whoever said that you can feel much more empowered by a diet product that helps YOU take CONTROL over what you put into your mouth, rather than feeling so powerless over your own bodily functions like a little infant. I want to take CHARGE of my life, not be reduced to pre-potty training!

geishagirl@rr.com: Well, I had used many over-caffeinated diet pills that made me feel quite sick. I like the fact that Alli doesn’t take that approach, altho I must admit I’ve got some doubts after reading these comments. I am going to stick with it anyway.

Beth M.: It’s interesting that you mention Hoodia Bites; I believe that Hoodia is actually a good addition to my Alli diet, because it helps with the cravings. When I eat less, I have fewer adverse effects. I have not used those bites, I use something actually, and it’s a good combo for me. I was not able to handle Alli without an appetite suppressant.

GardenGeekSue: So I just did some basic math……if I waited to lose 3 lbs per year with Alli, it would take me about 23 years to achieve my goal. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ridiculous is the only word for that.

Cedar: Just started using Alli last weekend…it was a rough start, much worse than I expected. I spent most of the weekend in the bathroom, but the rest of the week has been better. Maybe it just takes time to get used to it? Anyway I’m gonna finish the pack, hopefully it will work a little better.

Niagara71Falls: I was just wondering, is it good for your body to take a day off from exercise?? I’ve heard too much exercise actually can slow down ur weight loss.

Linda, Branson MO: Anyone know of a good vegetarian cookbook? I think maybe if I eat less meat (and that’s hard cuz I love my steak) then maybe Alli will work a little better for me.

theodore: When they said too much fat would cause the gross gastro problems with Alli, I guess I didn’t realize that meant beer, too.

Giada: Too many guidelines to follow on this Alli diet. I was curious about the pills but all the instructions seem a bit too much…taking vitamins before bed, eating a lot less fat…maybe that’s good but I just don’t have time for all this right now.

Rosemarie: I guess I just thought that Alli would provide more HELP to me, that I wasn’t going to have to carry the load by myself, so to speak. But mostly, I’ve had to do the majority of the work for the small amount of weight i have lost. I’m not sure what Alli has done.

Trace33: It’s only been 3 days since I started taking Alli but I have had no problems with it so far. I think if you follow all of the instructions and stuff it is okay.

jdtx7@verizon.net: I think the name “Alli” is supposed to make you think of an “ally,” like someone who is on your side. With an ally like this, I don’t need enemies.

BeauteeQueen96: For me, things were going fine on the Alli diet, until my cousin’s wedding came around. I was a bridesmaid, and the whole weekend was just devoted to INDULGING, you know? I knew it probably wasn’t smart, but I could not resist everything that was put in front of me, from the champagne to the filet mignon. Usually, I would just feel guilty. THis time, it was guilt AND discomfort that I felt. Yuck.

Brynn: Someone in an earlier post mentioned dry, brittle, hair. I too have experienced this problem with Alli. I guess my problem is I am not much of a vitamin taker, but it seems you have to be with this.

Polly_Ester65: My biggest problem is a slow metabolism, I’m not even a very unhealthy eater. Alli didn’t do anything to help me with that.

duelingbanjo@hotmail.com: ah, i think this pill is pretty much what you make of it. I read that it will work if you work.

Lorraine: Alli’s just a big scare tactic. If fear is what floats yr boat, I guess it’s for you. Not 4 me, though.

jessie: The alli plan didn’t work for me. i tried it but i didn’t lose a single pound.

Teresa: Uh, I’m not so sure about Alli…I thought it might be okay, but really, can you only lose 3 lbs a year?

Malkia: It def seems like Alli is a true commitment, and I suppose that’s fine for some but I don’t like what I’m seeing here about this drug. If I put that much time and energy into something, I need to see the results, plain and simple.

Denita: Have there been any long-term studies on the effects of Alli? I don’t think i have seen any. I like to see how these products affect people in the long run.

Arlene R.: I’m curious, does Alli work at all? Because I don’t see any testimonials on the webiste, as informative as it is otherwise.

Fabu673: Ha, yeah, seriously, you know these pharma companies are making SO much money off of dieters, looking for a “healthy” solution. Alli doesn’t look so healthy to me.

fancynancy@home.com: Hi…I recently bought a new scale, and wouldn’t you know, it weighed me 10 lbs heavier than my old scale did. Now, I was very proud of myself for having lost 5 pounds on the old scale. But now it seems that I have gained back more than i ever lost. I just don’t know how to proceed from here. Do i start fresh with the “new” weight as my baseline? It’s a bit depressing, actually.

Mz Smiley: Anyone who has had troubles with Alli must not be following the proper instructions, b/c if you do, it should work just fine. I have been using this for a week now and really cutting back on the fat. I have not lost any weight yet, but I am sure that if I just stick with it, I will have success. The gas is just a minor effect, I think it goes away.

BlogGrlTrix@aol.com: I def. do not want to wait a year to loose 3 pounds you’ve got to be kidding me!

CHICAGO: This is just way too expensive of a drug for what ya get out of it. when i pay good money i wanna see some results, loose the weight and all that. Alli was a ripoff, i thougth.

Ducky&Jim@hotmail.com: Anyone have a good recipe for a fruit smoothie? I’m looking for one that has Pomegranate juice in it, I’ve heard that’s great for the immune system too.

Kate: So I thought that using Alli would help me eat less or something. I guess I didn’t pay too much attention, but anywy I still ate like normal. Maybe I shoudl switch to that Hoodia herb, i don’t know, but I didnt like Alli.

Gargoyle@cs.com: I wish everyone would read up on these products so you will know what you are dealing with Alli does NOT contain any sort of appetite suppressant whatsoever. It does not work that way. If that is what you need, this is not right for you.

BarnacleBob_76: This Alli messed up my wife big-time. Finally i said no more, this is disgusting.

Kelly K: Shoot, I was really very much looking foreword to trying these Alli pill. but now i have some more concerns, i need too look into this more i think before buying them.

Lorelei, Phoenix: Buying a drug like this for weihgt loss just seems so convenient. I really want to believe that it will work for me, Alli, I mean. I guess i will set up some sort of appt with my doctor and see if it really is a good way to go, even if i don’t need that rx.

Vanessa: Well, I feel like the odd woman out, for sure, but I am liking Alli so far. It’s helping me to work hard, to exercise, and to really cut back on fat in my diet. I have always felt that good things come to those who wait. I understand that this is probably going to take a long time, and I need to be patient.

Evelyn Card: When i decided to try Alli I was looking at some of the positive aspects, like no jitteriness or loss of sleep. But I didn’t even consider all of the other problems! Oh my, what a mess it was.

Geo_7732: Well I was gonna try Alli but now I am having major second thoughts about it.

Cathy, WI: Huh, I see some mentions of natural formulas here. Maybe that would be a better idea; I like to trust that these drug companies know what they’re doing but you can’t always be sure. Sometimes they just lead to more health problems.

Althea: hey, FYI, It tired something someone mentioned above and found that it really DOES give you noticeable results is . It’s cheaper than Alli, too, they offer a free trial. ;)

Goatee_McFrank: If there is one thing I cannot stand it is humiliation of any kind. I think it is barbaric that they would even sell a pill that makes you lose bowel control. they should be ashamed.

Beverly: Since I am about 45 lbs overweight, using Alli is just not a wise decision for me. I was very close to starting this diet but when I saw how LONG it takes to lose weight, on top of all the potential problems, I said forget it, no thanks, I’ll find a better way.

Adriana: Another thing they don’t tell you….i have read most people gain their weight back after they go stop using Alli. So after spending all that time to lose it, you just regain it!!

Bonita: Ugh, this was such a FAILURE of a diet pill!! It was just terrible, and did not work.

wendy: Soo many peaple here are complain about Alli and well I love it myself. I think its just about the greatest think to hit the market. i dont like goin to the docs and this way i cna buy it when i want to and i WIll lose the weihgt, I wILL!

Lisa W.: Well, i don’t know about this Alli….I purchased it bcs it was free of caffeine and those kinds of anxiety effects. But now I’m scared to start using it due to the other effects mentioned. It’s been sitting in my medicine cabinet for a month now.

AugustusG: THIs was the diet pill that was supposed to end all of my dieting problems. I know, it is a complete lifestyle change and all that, but for me, Alli was not what I was looking for. I had the desire to make the changes but I lost motivation when i didn’t get any results.

renee: I am SO sick of these commercials, they alone make me want to puke. And then reading about loose stools and diaper changes, well, I am really going to be sick now.

Joleen: This is just the BIGGEST WASTE of money, it’s made for suckers who only trust in conventional medicine & are scared to try anything innovative or progressive. I used to be like that myself but then i woke up!

PAM: Thank goodness there’s a lot of information available on Alli…that’s about the ONLY good thing I can say about it. If I didn’t know all of the facts, I would probably be interested in it, but I can tell it wouldn’t be a good choice for me.

Lorie: Losing weight and losing control of your bodily functions are not the same thing. Read the fine print.

kalypso67Magic: Well, I’m an “alli dropout,” I just could not cope with the side effects. I decided to control my weight through my eating habits, not by screwing w/my digestion. I found these Hoodia Bites http://www.hoodiabites.com/nosugar I really am liking these, they are candy that contains an appetite suppressant. I feel like they help ME take control, as opposed to feeling really out of control like with Alli.

Diane: This pill sounds horrible I don’t think I’m interested in using it, not after seeing all this. Thanks for the info.

Violet: HOODIA is the best!!! I’ve had more success in a month with Hoodia than I did with Alli, I’m not kidding.

Bizmark_Brooks: This is all just fancy packaging and smart advertising, but underneath I feel this is a weak product. They must be laughing all the way to the bank.

Robert, Gatlinberg TN: Really, I would not recommend Alli to anyone, I HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE, if you’re questioning this, choose something else.

UrsulaO.: It seems to me based on what i have read, that Alli has half the strength of Xenical, but the side effects seem just as bad. That strikes me as a bad deal. Any thoughts?

Aurora: Based on my calculations, this would cost me about $700 a year!! Is that right?

Jody: Taking Alli forced me to look at my lifestyle differently and my biggest obstacle was exercise. I looked for more of a program based one and found Jillian Michaels on this site. This program is supportive, and I have also learned how to eat healthful meals. I don’t need Alli anymore, I follow this program instead http://www.jillianm.com/deal

juniper_moon: I tried so hard to believe in Alli, to be patient, but all i got was discomfort and inconvenience, and the slowest, most miniscule results i have ever seen. This was a waste and a mess.

chante: i think alli may work but i would like to hear from someone who has tried it for at least two months, also if it works so well then why are people using other supplments while using alli.

BrinaT.: My doctor told me to try that, but she warned me that it will make you lose all that bowel movement very easy, so I thoughts NO WAY!

kelly: Ive been taking alli foer 3 days . ive noticd im my appatite has decreased but ive also noticed a bit more gas it doesnt smell but its there and i dont eat a lot of junk food or food thats really high in fst. Im going to give it 1o days to see what its really all about ill let yall know what my final thoughts are in 10 days toaday is 3/7/08 Ill get back to yall on 10/17/2008

kg: Alli is a Rip off. Will not buy it again

abi: this is my third week and i haven’t loose any pounds, instead i gain couple of pounds.

Donna: I don’t know now if I want to try alli. Reading all the negative comments has scared me to death. No thanks I will try something else.

Anonymous: I bought Alli. If it does’t work why can”t we get our money back. To much too spend for nothing.

alicia c.: well, i have been on alli for a week now, and the only good thing that i have noticed is that it has made me aware of how much fat i intake.i’m not to happy with the uncontrollable leaks but i have also noticed that if i carefully watch what i eat then they are controllable. very unhappy with the no refund policy, but i will give it a month and if not satisfied, then i’ll change my comment.

CyndiB: Four days in, so far, so good. I have totally cut back on fats which is Major for me because I have been eating Low Carbs for 3 years (high fats). I have had no gas, my BM’s are fine…just a little “oily” but for me that’s no problem. I only need to loose that stubborn 4 pounds I gained this winter. Don’t forget to take those vitamins!!

cua: I am so happy that I did not purchase another bottle of Ali. It’s a big disappointment. I worked out everyday for 1 hour and diet like I’ve never done before. My hope was for the pill to help boost the process, but it took me four months to lose 10 pounds. The pill did nothing. I give credit to my hardcore workout schedule and diet.

midnite: I have read most of the bad and all of the good for Alli I have it and will start Monday March 31st, I think that it will be a good thing since it is ok for people with a heart condition like myself. My cardio has put me on this pill and as he sain not a diet but a healty way of eating with a kick, so we are going for it and I loook at it this way it WILL MAKE ME EAT RIGHT. wish me luck

Debbie: Been on it now for five months, ok the first few months so i thought. The leaky stuff smells which caused me to be embrassed to workout. You think Alli is working because on the oily crap coming out of you ass but thats just crap literally. the only reason i took them so long was because it mentally made me eat right. I lost about 10 lbs. but gain it all back eating the same healthy way.It stop working, even the oily crap stop coming out my ass but the smell is still there when i work up a sweat. Alli sucks big time. will never use it again.

Anonymous: To day is my frist day, i haven’t took it yet but hope it will work on me cuse i have tryed to lose wight on my own and did not work .

Suzanne: I was very successful with Alli, diet and exercise. I could see the undigested fat leaving with bowel movements. This side effect seemed a small price to pay for help in accelerating the effectiveness of my plan. However, for the past few months I have noticed that no fat is apparent when I move my bowels–even when I take the double dose that is equal to the prescription version. I’ve been thinking that the capsules are no longer ineffective. I have experimented with buying different lot numbers. It’s not working anymore. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this? Either I have developed a tolerance for the drug or they have changed the formula. I feel stupid buying it as it no longer appears to be doing its’ job.

Rhonda: Yeah the whole idea of drugs and tolerance are just beyond me. I mean out of fear, I went all natural a couple of years ago and never looked back or worried again, good luck to you. ;)

Shelly M: I’am diabetic and have recently quit smoking with the weight i put on my doctor told me the fat blocker in Alli is o.k. for me, I came to this web sight to get the coupon and read all of the comments and decided to SAVE my money and my HEALTH. Shelly in Mansfield

Karen Mc.: I love Alli it keeps me from eating fat and thats great,Cause if you don’t want to go to the bathroom all the time not eat fat and it would happen..I walk 30 mins every other day for a months so far and lost 5 pounds its slow but thats how you need to lose weight so it won’t come back slow is best beside i’m in no hurry to lose my weight,I rather do it slow then all at once you can get sick that way.Thank You Alli for teaching me how to eat healthy But you have to stick with the program and have patience..It will work, but YOU have to make it work for you,eat right and excerise, the pill just helps you not to chose the wrong food cause if you do you have the poops really bad..

tony va bch: it was weird at first but once you gain contol of your bowel movements it’s pretty much gravy i eat what i want and still lose weight can’t beat that

sandy_cat: You mentioned gravy? Yeah thats what Alli does to my shit. I threw the bottle out….GO ALL NATURAL!

Alex: I was taking Alli for a little over three months with diet and excercise I lost 18lbs..which is great. But I am sick of having a stomach ache from all the extra gas, plus it get pretty expensive at 3 pills a day plus a gym membership. I’ll just keep eating right and going to the gym.

Amanda, OK: I started trying to lose weight proactively two months ago. After the first month, I added alli, just like the plan says to do. It helped me break through a plateau, and is, as others have said, a powerful motivator. I have not had any bowel incontinence, and had irritable bowels to begin with; even on days i fall off the wagon and take in too much fat i did not have incontinence. I did have a change in stool charecteristics, (ie oiliness) but nothing “happened” that I wasn’t prepared for or expecting. I like alli because it motivates me to eat better all around ( the starter kit comes with lots of dietary educational material) and if I have a bad day, I don’t get as discouraged because I know there will be some unpleasant side effects, but at least the damage won’t be as bad as if I weren’t taking the pill. It helps me beat the all or nothing mentatlity that has sabotaged me so many times in the past. I just bought my second bottle and now am wondering about longterm use but can’t find any information on how long it can safely be used if a stick with my supplement.

yaneth: Im taking alli and im eating write dut i dont know if the alli is giving me a lots of precher or is just me.

wenz_tommy: Waste of time and $, wish I read this first. Its so true about the uncontrollable bowels…not good, not recommended, be warned.

Jennifer: I lost 12 pounds in two weeks- but it was rough. This is what I did, and it’s not for WIMPS! I did the ATKINS induction diet, Did the elyptical in the morning for 15 minutes. And wore heavy PANTY LINERS (sorry guys probably not a comfortable thought for you but us girls are used to it. I also only took ONE pill at lunch, my “biggest” meal of the day. Side Effects are HORRIBLE! But for me it didn’t matter what diet I followed I had the oily mess…so why not try it ….and it worked. It’s a freakin mess but at least its kinda working.

Lindsey: Gross I am not up for a “mess”, I will search for a better way.

jen from california: O.K. people….when you read about the side effects, take them seriously! There is no pain as with laxatives, however there is gas and some bloating. That’s why you should read the info provided!!! As far as losing weight, I lost 14 lbs. after about 7 weeks of using Alli and I have NOT gained it back (even after stopping Alli for about 6 weeks). I’d like to add that I only cut down on fast foods, I did NOT cut them out. Also, this is without excersize. I’m pretty sedentary and I’m not significantly over weight. I need to lose 23 lbs. to be well within a healthyweight, (yes I mean thin!) So stop whining people! Other than those of you with medical reasons, the rest of us are just lazy, ADMIT IT! and you know you love the french fries, so stop whining and show some restraint!!!!!!! This product definitly works just follow the instructions, duh!!!!

Carol: I admit I am lazy, but I also agree I had significant gas and severe bloating with ALLI. :( I am giving up on chemical options and looking for natural solutions. Thank you everyone.

Alicia: I have been taking alli for a while now and lost almost 2 pounds. All this time for only 2 pounds. I really dont like the oily spotting it gave me so finally I called QUITS.After taking it for almost 4 months.

Angie: Seems to me like no one is reading the instructions. You have to write everything down and measure your food. I think alli is great. It’s working for me! I’ve been on it for two months now…..21 lbs lost.

Julie R.: It’s not laziness or not following instructions that’s preventing me from having sucess with Alli. It is the GREAT DISCOMFORT i am experiencing, every single time I put food in my mouth. Sure, it’s teaching me some poriton control but mainly, I just wanna starve myself because I cannot handle the gas or bloat, and the leaking is just disgusting. Panty liners arent; enough for me, I’m afraid. I’ll be better off when I stop Alli I think.

laura: With alli its like having two products at once lubricant KJ and a diet pill. The only problem is the smell they should put a different odor. My husband thinks if they can come out with a “new car” smell it will sell like hot pan cakes I mean gravy.

china12: I had no stomach problems with Alli at all; but did not lose 1 0r 2lbs in a month.Plus I walk 3 to 4 miles a day ,other exercise also.

val: when it comes to any type of medication, whether its otc or rx, i follow the instructions perfectly. i don’t wanna risk any more health problems. alli just isn’t working. no weight lost, after 6 months! i’ve been doing everything right, but if some people have lost weight, it makes me think maybe i’m doing something wrong? i am sick of trying this with no results though, i think it’s time to look for a product that will really get the weight off.

Diana: I think alot of you want a miracle that doesn’t require any disapline at all. I’ve been taking alli and sticking to a low fat diet and EXERCISING and I have not had one side effect. The side effects come from EATING TOO MUCH FAT. READ THE DIRECTIONS!

DLWhitten: Not looking for a wonder drug, just wanted some help losing weight. Maybe if I had been able to learn how to reduce my portions or curb cravings before using Alli it wouldve been easier. The problem was, I would eat low-fat healthy meals, for the most part, but I guess maybe I was eating a little too much, even though it was less than I used to bcs I got horrible stomach pains immediately after every meal. It just wasn’t worth the pain. Maybe it does work for some, and that’s great, but it was not right for me.

Cindy: I have been using this product for a 6 months now, I have followed a strict diet and exercise routine. I have only lost 8 pounds being on this, I have also developed dry brittle hair to the point that I had to have 10 inches cut off. I drank water, eliminated soda, drank fruit juices and still had the gas issues. My doctor told me to stop taking it immediatley.

Michelle,Cleve,Oh: When I started using Alli for a month ,I saw the oil, but also recieve a yeast infection several times ,so doctor recommended that stop taking just to make sure wasnt Alli ,cleared up the yeast infection started back on Alli yeast infection came back.

ttb: I have been using this product for a week; Oh my god “the mess” I am going to stop using it and I warn everybody to save their money and lose weight the old-fashion way of healthy diet and exercise!

brandi: i have only been using for 1 week, i have been counting calories and fat grams and still i have unplesant bowel suprises. i am using it exactly how i should and yes i have lost 3 pounds how ever i think i will not buy alli again. the concequences are not worth it, ill loose weight the old way diet and exercise and not have the worry if i oiled myself.

brandi: A co-worker told me to eat a low cal, fat diet for a couple of days before taking Alli it helps with the gas and BM’s

brenda: I have been on alli for a week-and see some weightloss-about 5 lbs. I am not sure though if it is from me drastically cutting fat and calories-and working out…or if the pills are causing by body to lose pounds. I must admitt, I am scared to death of the side effects, and when I stand in line at the deli and try to make my decision for lunch-the side effects of alli are a major motivator for me to choose my food wisely! I am sick of trying to lose weight so many times, and have it come back. I want it gone for good-and pray alli is a useful tool–good luck to everyone!

Luci: I’ve read many comments from users of Alli for the purpose of finding out if anyone else has my symtoms. I bought the kit, read all the books, purchased a food scale and shopped accordingly. I plan every meal, measure portions and keep an accurate journal of my calories and fat grams. The morning I started Alli, there was a normal trip to the restroom, obviously not caused by Alli, since I had only just taken my first pill. Now, I’m on my fifth day of use, and Alli has not allowed me a BM yet! The instructions said to expect it within 48 hrs. I wasted the panty liners everyday, expecting something uncontrollable to happen, but instead I’m constipated. Does this sound like any of you? If you do, will you please email me, anonymously of course and share your experience. I’m not sure if I should continue. Share. Thanks.

Portia: In my third week now of Alli, thought all was going well for the first 3 days, then BOOm, the side effects I was terrified of suddenly came on strong. Luckily, no extremely embarassing situations to report, but the gas and BMs, much worse than expected. At this point I’ve lost 4 lbs, have been really careful to not eat much fat, to avoid the unpleasantries as much as possible, but I really don’t think its worth continuing. I’ll finish the bottle ( I hate to waste) but def won’t be getting more. There’s gotta be something equivalent without the side effects.

romife: Can anybody tell me how many pills do i need to take per day?

joanne: I tried Alli for a month. Very disapointing. I lost absoultly no weight, I was constipated and bloated. Severe case of gas. Alarge waste of hard earned money. I did not expect the drastic loss of weight the televison commercials state, but after a month some would be nice. I think I may even have gained more because of the constipation.

nikki: Well, I was thinking about starting alli, but after reading these comments I don’t think so.

Kim: Oh, I had such high hopes for Alli! I was ecstatic when it became available, but WHAT A LETDOWN! I felt just horrible for 3 months (yes, i stuck with it for 3 whole months) gas, bloating, diarrhea one day, constipation the next. I cut back on fats, I followed the “rules” and it was still just awful. I lost 4 lbs total, that’s it, and that was probably just water weight from the days I was too afraid to eat, for fear of what might happen. Not a good drug, no good at all.

Marsha Moore: I tried Alli twice the first time I stopped was because I became constipated and had chest pains on my left side whic frighten me then my friend started taking Alli in 02/08 and by 05/08 lost 25lb so again I thought I would try but again I developed heart burn constipation scarry kept me up thinking I was having heartattack symtoms since stopping the Alli 2nd time I have this heartburn and constant constipation I never had also I have to really watch everything as it feels my food is not properly going down I never had any of these problems. Is there anyone else out there with these symtoms I now need a upper GI. Good Luck if it works for you I just praying I haven’t cause myself some real serious problems.

Peggy: I stared Alli back in Nov and got off of them for at least two months. I am now back on them and i’m very happy with them. Ya you get the the side effects if you eat to much fat but to me it is like a lesson. You are teaching yourself to eat right. So for me i swear by them but they are coatly. So i need to serch aroud and find a better price. But i give Alli A big thumbs up. It keeps in contral of what you eat and how much you eat. This is an outstanding prodect. Just my 2 cents werth here. Peggy

Anita: This was a problem right from the start. I began taking Alli in March and had read a lot on it (the good & the bad) but still decided to try it. I was worried about the side effects and made lots of extra effort to lower my fat intake. I didn’t have many of the GI issues people have mentioned here but, I did have some heart burn too. I wish I would’ve went with my gut and not bought it, but I was so convinced I could do it. It was too uncomfortable, I stopped taking them last week and will never go back on them. No weight lost either.

angel: lol i did alli for 6 weeks lost one lbd did the speical k diet lost 7 lbs so i’ll stick to special k and no mess.

Carly: I avoided fat & still had TERRIBLE stomach cramping that kept me up all night similar to IBS or the first term of pregnancy. I guess the positive is that a guy could actually experience what women go through once a month or some of the discomfort we get during pregnancy!

Mary: I tried Alli and had to really watch my fat intake to not have a greasy stool mess. Had to wear a pantyliner. I did not lose any weight. Felt bloated and gassy all the time. Had an urgent appendectomy. Not sure if related to the pills but I have stopped them and can’t help but wonder if the appendicitis was brought upon with Alli. Just in case, will never take them again. Sharing in case other people have experienced this, then maybe the FDA should reinvestigate?

Michelle: I have used this pill for over 2 months now, and I have stuck to the Alli suggested diet, with a few indulgences every now and then (which I paid the price for, believe me), however, no one on here seems to be saying anything about their menstrual cycles. I am over two weeks late, and I have taken many pregnancy tests with negative results. Is this common amongst others out there who are on it or no? Regardless, I have stopped taking it, for this reason and for the fact that I have not lost any more weight while on the pill than when I was not on it. Either way, I still have not gotten my period yet, and I have been off of it for almost two weeks now. Anyone out there who is experiencing this?

Barb: THE ONLY THINK I LOST WITH THE ALLI PROGRAM WAS MY DIGNITY!

MARY: i was thinking of starting the alli pill, but after reading this no thank you, i will try something else

foxxxy: Went out and bought alli today, was just looking over the package and see that they exp this month. Guess I need to return this ha.

Ronni: I was going to buy some of these tomorrow, I was searching their website for the coupon and i found this blog. I will not try this product.

Sindi: I have been taking alli since Sunday, this is thursday and the side affects I have is that I can’t poop! Sorry guys. When I started taking the pill I already was eating right and was already walking for about two weeks. I am a heavey girl. I’m 5′4 and weigh 240. I tryed to have gastric bye pass, but I was denided. So we will see what happens. I haven’t been on a scale yet but I noticed that my close are getting looser and I’m down to a size 18/20 instead of 22/24. Which mean I need to get rid of some clothes because I’m never going back to that size again. Thank you!

Sylvia: I’ve been taking Alli for three months. I had a little bit of trouble with the side effects at first, but actually have been able to stick with the calories per day and the recommended fat grams. So I’ve done well in that respect. I was already walking and going to Curves three times a week. However; in all this time I have only lost 7 pounds, and I have a feeling that is because of the cut down in calories and the three days a week at Curves. I don’t think Alli has done anything. I was also excited about it thinking it would make weight loss quicker. I really feel I just wasted my money. I’ll finish what I have and that’s it. I think I will try something. It sounds like that is a much better weight loss aid.

Sharon:: I guess I’m in the minority. I’ve tried every kind of diet and was even running 2 miles a day but the lbs only stayed the same or climbed. I’ve lost 7 lb with the first bottle. (1 month) The first week was a week of “learning” how much was too much. Once that boundry was established, I’ve have had very few incidents and none “urgent or embarrassing”. I’m still watching my intake but until I started Alli, I saw nothing. I guess like all diets, they work differently with each person. This one has been working for me. Hopefully, I can say the same at the end of next month, but so far I give it a thumbs up.

LARRY: AFTER READING EVERYONES COMMENTS, I DON’T EVEN WANT TO OPEN THE PACKAGE. ADVERTISING DOES WORK.NOW TO FIND THE RECIEPT IS A DIFFIENT STORY. HAPPY DIETING TO ALL.

wowidiots!!: You people who gave alli a bad rating obviously DID NOT read the getting started guide all the way thru and did not stick to the recommended fat and calorie intake!! I have lost almost 30 lbs in the past 5 months (while using Alli and exercising) It is not an appetite suppresant and it does work-usually within the first 6 months!! Our bodies are not designed to just drop fat immediatly and then keep it off after we stop dieting and exercising. You have to give the body time to adjust to a diet before it will even consider dropping weight and then you have to stick to it in order to continue losing!! You do not have treatment effects if you stick to the reccomended fat intake!! DUH!!

bh: Bh I have been taking Alli for 2 weeks, the first week I lost 2.8 lbs and the second week I lost 1.8 lbs. I am not suffering any side effects. The stool is oily, but that was in the brochure. I am going to stick with it and see where it takes me. I will keep you posted.

Stefanie: I feel like I must try this for myself so I know if it works for me. But here’s my problem, which I’m embarrassed about, but I don’t know you guys, so….I’m 36 years old. My 15 year old daughter became sick in 2005 and I had to leave my job to stay home with her. Over the past (almost) 3 years, I put on 76lbs. My main problem is laziness and drinking-not alcohol because I don’t drink it but sugary drinks like soda, Vitamin Water and iced tea. I’m always drinking=always. I’ll take drinks above food anyday, anytime. Add terribly sugary drinks to 3 years of laziness and that equals 76lbs. I also have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. When I get flare-ups, look out! It’s not pretty. Knock wood, I haven’t had a flare up in about 8 months which is a record for me. At this time, I have the fact that I’m home with my daughter on my side when I try Alli-I’ll be in the comfort of my own home if/when the side effects occur. I’m just wondering if the side effects will cause an IBS flare-up or be a zillion times worse than normal? (flare-ups usually cause a visit to the ER due to dehydration) My blood suger is being watched by my MD as my grandfather died from diabetes and my sugar is borderline. For a long time I swore off sugary drinks and drank Propel Water and was OK with that. Then somewhere along the line, I ‘treated’ myself to some Vitamin Water and am back to guzzling it, along with iced tea and sometimes regular soda. I have to at least try this for a month to see if it works for me. I tried TrimSpa which did absolutely nothing for me but make my heart race and make me paranoid that I would drop dead from a stroke or heart attack. If anyone has some genuine advice/comments, I’d love to hear about it. I can be reached at Stefanie3800 @ aol.com. Thanks for reading/listending.

Dianne: My girlfriend and I began taking Alli 2 months ago. So far she has lost 15 pounds and I have lost 20. We joined a gym as well. Both of us have found that as long as we keep within the recommended fat grams, neither of us have experienced much in the way of the “side effects” that we had heard so many frightening stories about. I know that one time I splurged and ate tons of fat that day. That was not pleasant, but I did not do that again and have not had a problem since. I reduced my high blood pressure to completely normal, and went from a size 14 to a comfortable 8 in the last 2 months.

Anonymous: I am glad that I visited this site before I went and bought Alli. It seemed like it could work, but now I am not so sure.

jenny: I am so greatful that I read these comments on alli; I was thinking about buying it but, that thought has vanished.

Sue: This is week 2 for me. I’ve lost 4 pounds and feel great. No side effects at all. I read the packet information carefully and I keep my fat grams to under 15 per meal. Easy to do, just watch your fat!

Amber: I have been taking Alli for 3 months now…and I have lost 30 lbs!! I think it’s a great pill, and I’m going to buy another bottle tonight! Now I did have to get use to eating the ‘right and healthy way’, but after that, it was no problem! I think it’s a great product, and as long as you stick to a healthy diet then, you WILL loose the weight! GOOD LUCK!

STARR SHINE: I have been on Alli for 1 week and I have already lost 4 lbs. The only side effect I have had is a little gas but that is it. I would def. recommend this product. It is so much better than other over the counter pills that make your heart race.

Karry: I wanted to try Ali but my friend tried it 1st & Boi was I glad she did. She leaks all the time. How embarrasing..we were out eating lunch & her pants were a mess. So not worth it!

still hopeful: been taking alli for 2weeks now lost 5lbs.no problems with gas or any oily mess.not sure if i would tell all my friends about it just yet.will see how it goes.so far so good.it could go down in price.

Anonymous: Be realistic, you can’t take the pill, then eat a big mac, fries and apple pie. If you do, then you are basically asking for disaster.

Cathy: I did well when I first did Alli. I lost 8 lbs in the first week. It worked because I followed the rule of writing everything down. When I did that it made me watch what I was eating. When I stopped writing it down I quit losing. Why? because FACE IT I EAT TOO MUCH!!! Now I take it and eat too much but feel like it maintains the crappy fats that I eat… I need to change my eating habits….plain and simple!!!

Evelyn: I have been using Alli for 4 months. Have been true to myself with the fat grams and the excersising. I lost 15 lbs in the first 3 months and have maintained for the last month. I’m extremely happy with this product. NO side effects as I’m sticking to the rules.

Happy Amy: I have lost 57 lbs using Alli. I started it with the Weight Watcher program first. Then just kept an eye on what I ate. It is a slow process at first, and any real weight loss program is, but the pounds just kept coming off. In October of last year I was wearing a size 16, by June I was in sizes 6-8. And I have never had any of the problems these people have had. I probably would have if I consumed high amounts of fat. People want it to happen right now but no one, with any diet aid, is ever going to lose that kind of weight in a few months. I am a strong supporter of this product.

Susieme: I used this product the first time for about a week, I didn’t change the way I was eating and I had all of the side effects that everyone else mentions. After about a month I decided to try it again, but here’s the thing, I decided I would take it seriously this time. I am watching my fat intake (fried, creamy, cheesy foods are out). Because guess what! That fried burrito or that AWESOME cheese burger with greasy fries on the side have consequences. I’m not saying I don’t cheat and indulge every once in a while, but I will regret it later, which does make me think twice before pulling into that drive-thru. I’ve never had a pill make me think twice like this one does. If your looking for “The magic pill” this is not it. Ive lost about 12lbs in the first 3 1/2 weeks, and most of that is knowing what will happen when you cheat. But when you do cheat, (and you know it will happen) Panty liners are awesome. I don’t get the full blown incontenence but I do get leakage. If your serious about changing your habits and needing that for sure back-up this is it. By the way did I mention I don’t exercise? Yes I know horrible for the heart, but one process at a time.

margaret: i need something to makeme loose my fat stomach thats the only place i’m big at is my tummy.

Lauren: It took me awhile to try Alli and despite the bad reviews I read I still went ahead and bought it. I tried to be smart about it too, makeing the proper dietary changes. But I thought, won’t the weight come off if I just stay away from the foods anyway? Why stress about the side effects? And I didn’t like wearing panty liners all the time, it was like a diaper. And I only lost 3 lbs in 2 months, NOT WORTH IT.

Renee: Well a lot of you have confirm my fear about using ALI, and I think I WON’T! There are a lot better one’s out there I’m sure! Good Luck in your weight loss!

Cookie: I guess I’m in the minority, but I love Alli. I started Alli four months ago and have lost 14 lbs. I follow the recommended limit on fat intake and have had none of the unpleasant side effects. If I

June: Wish I would’ve read the reviews first. I can’t believe some of you are saying you lost weight with Alli? It was a bad experience for me, no matter how strict my diet. The effects were too much, and I just felt bloated all day long. Will look into either an herbal pill or a better plan, something else.

Kristi: I really like Alli, I had been on Xenical and liked that. I found to get the perscription dosage you have to take two over the counter pills to equal one of the other. So it equals out to the same price. If you watch your diet you don’t have to worry about accidents. But it also allows me to have a treat now and then and the “flush” it away. Not much for weight loss right now, but I haven’t gained any either.

Melissa: No good for me. Took Alli for 2 months, minor side effects, only 2 lbs lost. I was following al the guidelines and still couldn’t lose.

Carol: I will not continue to take this. I took it for 3 days and I can’t sleep well and today I poop like a goose! Gross! I want a refund!

Diane: I’ve been using the product for over a month and have lost 6 pounds, which is great because I wasn’t losing anything with South Beach. I exercise regularly and try to eat low fat. I also only take it twice a day as I eat a very low fat breakfast anyway and take my vitamin in the morning. I have experienced side effects but only when I’ve eaten more than 15 grams of fat for a meal. Therefore, I make an effort to keep the fat intake low so as not to have treatment effects. Also, if I am in a situation where I can’t eat low fat, I won’t take a pill. Occasionally I will experience a lot of uncomfortable gas and bloating at which point I skip the pills for a day to get things settled. This product is not perfect but it helps expedite the weight loss and is certainly manageable when you follow the directions.

marcia: 2 weeks tomorrow aug.4 that i’ve been on alli. first week lost 9 lbs. second week nothing. in fact up a few lbs and that is due to water retention that has been an ongoing problem before starting alli. i’ve read all the literature in depth and have been very careful regarding my fat and food intake. eating very healthy and figured at 320 lbs the scale should be steadily going down. i realize the water retention has something to do with fluctuating numbers on the scale but I thought the alli was going to attribute to more weight loss than this especially in the very beginning stages. Tomorrow i am going back to costco and I will get my money back due to their great refund policy. However, in these past weeks that I’ve cut down tremendously on my fat and food intake i will hopefully continue to try my best. the one thing that alli did for me was to make me stay away from all the fattening foods i used to eat because i was petrified of having all the “treatment effects”. I have had none, so in that resect I was quite happy. So good luck to everyone out there with your dieting adventure because that’s exactly what its been for me the last 40 years!

Ted: I have taken the pill for 200+ days (off and on). Mainly just the past 60 days has been irregular; although, I am back in it full swing this past week. Now to the review…I have experienced side effects when I have exceeded recommended fat/calorie intake, which are not fun but overall I have seen some great results. I lost 40 lbs–although, I did gain back half of that when I want way off my diet, exercise, and pill. I have already started losing 5 lbs since I have started back. The trick for me is the diet and exercise with the pill as more as a safety net and motivator.

jessica: Istarted taking alli july07 and I lost 95lbs.I’ve had three girls and a thyriod disroder and have always been over weight.I went from a size 26 to a 14-15 with very little to no exercise. I love this product, yes you are gassy at first the first 1 or 2 then your fine.

Lisa: Well i was just on Alli’s website, and the information i read was directly opposite to what you’re saying jessica. It says that “If you would normally lose six pounds in a month with diet and exercise, taking Alli may help you to lose a total of eight or nine pounds in that month.” That’s only a 2-pound differential with the Alli, which is way off from your 95 lbs in less than one month. I have to wonder what else you were doing to loose this weight, esp. if you weren’t exercising. Notice the quote above also says to exercise. I”m not saying this didn’t happen for you, but i think it’s only fair to let people know that this result is not typical. Like, WAAAY not typical. In a month on alli, I lost a grand toal of 5 lbs. WITH diet and exercise.

Theresa: I have COPD my Dr told me that this diet was the safest diet on the market. I lost over 25 pounds, I did get put in the hospital, not because of the diet, but Im going back on it. If you are leaking or as they say messing your pants, its because you are not eating like your suppose to.. 15 grams per meal. and thats what it means not an extra pork chop or mex food. either you want to loose or you don’t.

cat: I lost 15lbs in three weeks and have been very careful of what i eat. I have never dieted in my life. I didnt start taking the pill initialy just really watched what i ate but on those hard days when life is going faster and do not have time to prepare my food i take it still being cautious of my caloric and fat intake and found out that just watching what i eat is the solution, documenting for me has proven to be key for me. I have taken the pill on some days when i feel that the food was not quite what i should have eaten and it gives me a piece of ming of sort. Though i have to say that just once i suffered the consequences with an applebees the so called “weight watchers meal” never again! Since i am really watching what i eat, i dont have the messy spills as a matter of fact im constipated so go figure.

Kitrina: I love Alli!My side effects were mild and went away after the first two weeks. In one month I lost 12 lbs.I will continue taking Alli untill I reach my goal.

Kimberly: Was also constipated on Alli, took it for 4 weeks and only lost 2 lbs, didn’t feel good. I was very careful about my diet and am continuing documenting my meals. In the month I have been off Alli I lost 2 more lbs so I don’t think the pill really helped. Oh, and I have no more constipation now either.

sh: i thinking of buying and after reading it i’m glad i read it frist this website. i rather eat healthy food and exerice and not running to bathroom 24/7

alma: Been using alli for 2 mths. and has not lost but 2 lbs. Not happy that this is sooooo slow..not needed for wt. loss too expensive,,just watch you fat intake and it is the same results. Disappointed!

prettylucky: I’ve tried alli and it works for me; I have lost 30lbs and have taken the pill for 31/2 months. It takes time to take the weight off no matter what you take.

Cyndy: I’ve been using Alli for i month, very faithful to the program with no side effects and lost only 1lb. Just watch your fat and calorie intake and you can get the same results without the expense.

Joni: I think Alli is GREAT!!! I have been on it for 3 months and I have lost 24 pounds without any exercise. As long as I stay under 15 grams of fat per meal I don’t have any side effects. There are times I have eaten what I want and I do have some side effects, but I wear a panty liner if I do.I have dieted in the past and have not been able to lose

angela: I don’t see the point of spending the money (and potentially humiliating yourself) when diet and exercise work just as well as Alli. Gaining an extra 1 lbs is not worth “messing your pants” as someone said above. At least not to me it isn’t. Joni, it’s pretty icky you have to wear a pantyliner and not to be gross but how do you line it up properly to give you the coverage in the , uh, right place? You’d probably do better with a depends. Anyway. I lost only 6 lbs while I was taking Alli and not exercising…after my hair and skin started becoming dull and dry (due to vitamin deficiency) I stopped the Alli and started exercising. I lost 14 pounds doing that in the same amount of time.

Diane: My Dr told me to take the alli pill to help me with my cholestoral he said I was a little overweight and this would help me eat right so I could get my cholesterol down a little and he said it might help with my weight as well. I have been taking the pills for 3mos. I also have lost 16 pounds. I have to admit that I was so nervous about the bathroom visits that I cut out all of the foods I knew were not good for you and by doing that I didn’t have many side affects at all. It’s all about controling what you eat. Out of this I have learned how to make the right choices of what to put in my body, now I’m excited, and with the results I’m getting it makes me that much more determined to keep making right choices. It really does work, just gotta have the right attitude.

pat: MyAlli worked for the first couple weeks, then it didn’t do much, my only problem with any diet pills or stuff sold is that i have high blood pressure and there isn’t much of anything on the market that people with HBP can take, if you can recommend something then i would be willing to check it out, other wise i am stuck, and Alli is too darn expensive to keep replenishing every month or 2.

Renee C.: Also only had moderate weight loss with Alli (3 lbs in a month) and also made some different dietary choices. DIdn’t like being on a pill like this with all the side effects though, esp since it wasn’t anythng drastic. I’ve been off it for a month and lost 3 more lbs but have been looking into some natural pills that have gotten good reviews. Think I need something with Hoodia but am not sure. It seems less risky anyway.

Donna: Pat, have you looked into Slim10? I’m not positive, but I think its okay even if you have high bp, its got a bunch of natural ingredients. I read a review here and just ordered last week after stopping on Alli due to the neg effects, good luck.

Tiffany: Well, I’ve been taking alli for the past 4 weeks and truthfully I love the little blue pill!! I was also told by my doctor to try alli because of my high choletrol, she said it should help bring my choletrol levels down so I bought it.. The side effects are not as bad as it sound it’s okay to eat normal just not too much of it. I have’nt weighed myself since the doctor visit but from the reactions of friends and family asking me what am I doing to loss weight I guess I’ve lossed weight.. I’ll be buying my second bottle soon.

Gina V.: Took Alli for a month and was able to lose a little bit of weihgt, about 6 lbs. It definitely helps, but I thought it was too expensive and I had really bad gas. I was being really careful about what I was eating & it didn’t make much of difference. I’m kind of surprised that this would be recommended for cholesterol? I don’t know if mine went down, if so, it was bcs I’ve been eating better. I just didnt’ like how I felt on this, and since I am still 30 lbs overweight, I don;t think theres a reason to continue.

Jill: I was very disappointed with Alli. I lost very little weight. I watched what I ate very carefully. I suffered greatly from bowel problems related to this product.

Cindy: I took for about a week after most meals and while taking had very little “treatment effects” and no weight loss (actually gained a few pounds). Several days after not using, I started with the treatment effects. Guess I had a delayed reaction. After reading other blogs, i will attempt to get a refund , as I can see that this is another drug that won’t work for me. If I had the wherewithall to do the things Alli suggested doing in order to commit to the program, I know that I would lose the weight without the assistance of Alli. Just haven’t been able to psyche myself into depriving myself of the enjoyment that eating the tempting foods that our lifestyle provides in abundance. Thanks Alli, the monkey is back on my back just, as your advertising promised all along.

Miki: OMG, this stuff is the worst. I had started taking Alli on a Wednesday, by Friday I knew we were leaving for a fun weekend in Fredericksburg, TX (A huge tourist town) for labor day weekend. Anyway, I had not taken the pill and we went to a local restaurant on the main strip (full of shops and tourists) and I ordered a tomato – basil small pizza. I had only one small piece and sure enough I was in a quilt shop wearing my favorite white plaid shorts when the incident happened. Mind you, this was 2 day’s after not taking the pill. I actually had to stay in the restroom while my fiance (whom had just proposed the night before) had to run back to the bed and breakfast for another pair of shorts for me and I had to throw the other ones away. You do not even know it happened until it is too late. I minded the diet restrictions to a “T” but thought since I had stopped the bills two days prior so I could enjoy my getaway that I would not have my first and only incident. Do not buy these pills ever, it is not worth it. Diet and work out with a different dietary supplement because this one will be pulled off the shelves before we know it!

Janet Pope: So, I gave birth to twin girls 6 months ago and gained 40 pounds. I’m currently taking Alli and have lost 5 pounds in a week, and I’ve only exercised twice. So in conclusion the Alli is working for me (so far). And as far as the side affects, they are not that bad. I mean, oily bowel movements are only caused by how much oil intake you eat. So I just stay away from the greasy foods. I will definately keep an update on how the Alli is doing for me.

Nae51: I am certain that without the use of Alli, I would not have been able to lose the 55 pound that I lost in 8 months. I think that, if nothing else, I was reminded to eat healthy, and, on the occasions that I didn’t, I welcomed the side affects as a reminder. I love the product.

lucille: Hmmm. well these results y’all are reporting are really interesting to me…5 lbs in a week? 55 lb in 8 mos.? I read on the Mayo clinic website that Prescription strength Xenical, which is the same as Alli but STRONGER, only helps you lose 6 more pounds than diet and exercise, and that;s in a YEAR. and that stuff is STRONGER than Alli. So…uh, Janet, now sure how you lost that much in a week, or was that the week you gave birth to your twins, LOL…just kidding. But really. I always wonder when i see people talk about this dramatic weight loss with Alli, since even the manufacturer doesnt claim it does that. I lost about 3 more lbs after i started taking Alli. So i’m not so immpressed. would totally prefer something more natural and am now starting to look for it. Thanks.

eliza: I found Alli to be the slowest weight loss ever…I never had any “side effect” bcs my diet was really low fat….BUT the weight loss was so sluggish, it took forever. And Alli didn’t really seem to help! FINALLY, i started noticing some weight loss, but then i ran out of Alli and kept dieting and exercising, and the weight loss continued without it.

ms.abby: so i was ready to commit to the alli plan. i really was. i liked the information i saw and it didn’t seem so bad to use, if you follow the instructions. i got the starter pack and after 2 weeks i was just not feelng well. i stayed on for a month and had lost a pound by the end. i didn’t think that feeling bloated was worht the slow weight loss. not for me.

Eva: Thanks for all the precious info, they don’t tell you all of that on Alli’s website. I am still researching which diet plan would be the more appropriate for me. Considering how slow it works it sounds like weight Watchers may be a better option for me works the same and I won’t take the risk of having side effects. I read on the weight watchers blog that some dieter also take a natural supplement to speed up the weight lost, I could also do that.

Rosemarie: You know, i should have known by the fact that Alli was a product of Big Pharma that it wasn’t going to be any good. its basically the same as Xenical but it’s not as powerful. It’s just an Rx med watered down so that it does almost nothing. its shameless what they will do just to make some money. I am very overweight (324 lbs) and i want something potent yet natural.

Rochelle: Even though you can get Alli OTC, do you think its best to still check with my doctor before starting? I am a bit worried abbout the potential side effects.

Elise: I am still unclear on how Alli works. It absorbs the extra fat as long as you don’t consume to much of it, is that right?

gigi: i had a hideous, humiliating experience with Alli in a public place that i don’t think needs to be repeated here. But i will just say that i thought i was just passing gas but it turned out to be significantly more. threw those pills out that night.

simone: Excellent question, Elise: So Alli only works if you are eating a low fat diet???Then why not just go on a low fat diet? Makes no sense, especially considering the “risks” involved wiht this particular pill.

pixie100: my diet was pretty high fat before using ALLI and it was really hard to make adjustments for the pill. i didnt’ want none of the bad bowel effects and ate only what they said i could on the meal plans but after a week it was hard. i was not very wel supported on this, maybe i’d do better to meet with a nutritionist at this point? i will not say i “gave up” but i am just loking for a plan that works better for someone who does not really know how to begin making changes. they information for alli is not enough.

Zoe: I think like they say, it’s not for everyone but for those of us who commit it can be quit beneficial. I’ve learned to eat healthier and as a result lost weight. Once I lost a fair amount of weight 10lbs, I was able to start walking everyday without pain and it felt and still feels great.

John: Are push ups or pull ups better for overall upper body strength training….my gut is not okay and I was thinking of trying Alli but I am glad I read review first.

Marla: HI, Elise, I think i can actually answer your question…Alli does absorb the extra fat regardless, whether you eat low fat or high fat. The problem is, if you eat too much fat in one sitting, the Alli will cause your system to be overwhelmed and will flush that fat out all at once, in the form of “fecal incontinence.” So you will still get the benefits, but you might go to the bathroom in your pants while you are at it. That happened to me, and i can’t tell you what it is like to experience that as a grown person. It was revolting, and my self-esteem hasn’t quite recovered. I gave up the Alli. It was not worth it.

samantha: Its not fair…..I ate low fat potato chips with Olestra in them so that my fat count wouldn’t be too high and i wouldn’t have the treatment effects with my Alli pill. But the Olestra still caused anal leakage. I can’t win. I think i’d better try soemthing a little more normal.

Terry: YEs of course you have to eat low-fat diet and exercise on Alli, like with any other weight loss program. It starts with you, the dieter, and the lifestyle choices you make. Alli is not a miracle drug, it is a little extra help. It does not come without side effects but as long as I line my pants any oily leakage doesn’t make much of a mess. It takes a commitment and planning to work.

vicky sue: alli is a NASTY drug, ewww!!

Kelly: I have discovered the secret to loosing weight! : reading Alli’s blog every time I am hungry! These are some really disgusting stories and details. I was just here to read more about Alli which I was considering doing but I can tell you now that I am skipping lunch for sure now. :)

joleen: You should definitely line your pants if you are going to exercise after a meal wit Alli….I use Prevail light absorbency pull-on briefs.hahahhahahaahhahaha

BabyFace: Ok so I had never really had much success with other diet pills before, most just had caffeine or ephedra or something that made me dizzy and ill. I was SO PSYCHED to learn about Alli’s availability and got it right away. And I stuck with it for 6 months, lost about 10 lbs or so. Which would be great, if I only had that much to lose. But I said to myself, is it gonna take me 2 more years to lose the 52 lbs I still need to lose?? I am done with Alli, its just too slow. And worrying about sudden BMs is not worth it any more. Maybe natural IS better though I have yet to find a a [pill that works.

Dave: you people are just disgusting, coming on here talking about shit, i think i’m gonna lose my lunch. You should all get a Colon cleanse, clean that shit outta you so you won’t have this problem anymore. then maybe you oughta get rid of the Alli.

Iren: Not sure what all this childish talk is about, we all know the side effects of Alli. Please keep your story for yourself if you have not followed Alli’s diet as prescribed. It is not necessary.

maria brinkman: you know, i will say that alli was a decent start for me. i needed to do somethng about my weight and turned to this pill. after a month or so i was exercising regularly and really watching what i ate. i discontinued the pilll and have continued to lose 4 lbs over the past 3 months. it may be slow but i just don;t like depending on a drug like this, especially one so new. who knows what the long term effects from use could be? i don’t know wanna find out.

Karen: I first heard about Alli on the Today Show (love that show!! and I have such a big crush on Matt). I am so glad I came here on the blog to read more about the truth. On the today show they made it sound like the diet of the century. Thank you!!

Madeleine: I can’t believe how popular this diet is, I didn’t know about it until last night when I saw it for at A&P. I got a bottle. I guess I can return it to have my money back. I am so glad I didn’t open it yet.

june: I just don’t think i have the patience to wait while the weight comes off soooooooo slowly with Alli. In fact, i really haven’t seen any weight loss yet with this, and i’ve been following a pretty careful food plan. I don’t know if this is the best approach for me. I have always had a very stubborn metabolism, and its those darn calories that seem to be in the way, not just the fat.

Julie: YEah good point Dave. If any of you are looking for a decent cleansing aid, I know of a good one (CleanseRx http://www.cleanserx.com/weightloss ) that’s helped my IBS as well as lose 6 lbs. It’s all natural and doesn’t act as a laxative. Maybe it could help? Iknow I feel better.

sonja: are there any special recipes that are compatable with Alli? I want to make sure the foods i eat are right. I saw that the limit of fat is like 15 g per meal? I am not sure how easily a person can accidently go over that limit?

kim: Thanks Julie…hey, if the CleanseRx can help me prevent the “treatment effects” of Alli, then i am all for it! Plus, i think a cleanse might have its own benefits.

Roger: Took these damn Alli pills and followed the program for 3 months and all can say is, its pointless. Am I eating right? sure. and exercsing. ITs ME doing all the work and I don’t need to be fooled into taking this pills thinking its doing me good. iTs not.

Allison: Any diet that recommends bringing a change of clothe or wearing dark pants in the begining of the diet sound terribly scary to me. I was still intrigued and came here and I am so glad I did. I think I will try something else than Alli’s diet pill.

bonnie: Don’t worry, I’m not going to talk about anything too gross, but i do have a question about gas and bloating, so sorry in advance. I have been eating a lot of vegetables and salads to keep my fat levels low and prevent the Alli treatment effects, but see, vegs and salads tend to cause a gas/bloating issue on their own. Is there ANY way to get relief from this issue with Alli? Should I cool it a bit with the vegetables???

feisty_redhead: Sonja, I have tried some of the recipes on the Alli program and its surprise what you are allowed to eat. The Margherita pita pizza is one of my favorites. I have yet to eat out but i think there are foods okay to eat in restaurants too.

MattiePerkins: Like a lot of us, my Doctor is also the one who recommended Alli to me. He said that it would lower my cholesterol. I read all that I needed to know about Alli before getting started and thankfully had no accident except for a lot more gas. I just think it’s not worth the money at all considering the little results you get. I lost 3 lbs in 2 months. I have not seen my Dr yet but I am going to ask him for a real medication for my cholesterol.

cathy yee: Yeah i think i need something to keep my appetite in check, because even when i dont eat a lot of FAT i eat too many calories and that adds up too. Alli didn’t help me where i needed it most.

Norm: SOrry Bonnie, I cant help you, my issues were similiar. THe solution? stop taking Alli, only thing that worked for me.;(

Toni: Do doctors get paid for recommending products like Alli do you think? Don’t they get some kind of incentive?? I don;t wanna say, don’t trust your doc, but it seems just cruel to advise a plan like this..

Pamela: I have been taking Alli for 1 week now and it’s going pretty well so far. Some of your comments scared me but I think I am going to keep taking it until I reach my goal, I need to loose 18lbs.

Olivia: On Alli, I found it VERY difficult to limit my fat intake, and my overall food intake as well, like others have said. And thats how the gas occured. i just started on a Hoodia supplement and that seems to be going well for me so far, though its only been 9 days.

sally: bonnie, you should eat fewer vegetables. try other stuff like starches and proteins. Theyre not too gassy, and only thing that gets you in trouble with Alli is fat.

michelle: I thought the recipes for the ALli diet might have actually slowed down my progress. They certiainly weren’t as healthy as i expected them to be.

Denise: Do you have to be over weight to use Alli or is it safe if you only want to loose 5-6lbs just to look better?

whirlwind001: My Alli is helping me to loose weihgt successfully. In the 9 months I am on it, have lost 2 inches off my weist and am stronger and healthier overall. i have support and its a good plan when you stick to it.

Vanessa: Good for you if you have the patience and tolerance for Alli. I could only handle 2 months on it. Sure, they tell you some information on the program that might be useful but wow. Its very restrictive and for minimal weight loss, i am looking for a better way. I realy expected more from it.

shelly: Alli is supposed to be only for people who are genuinely overweight…which really kills me, bcs it works a snail’s pace!

chrysantheMUM: Really the recipes and advice given for the my alli plan are nothing “special.” i have plenty of good cookbooks at my disposal and the recipes in there were just fine for cooking low-fat and steering me clear of the worst of the side effects. Didn’t find the progress to be any faster at all though.

sharon: I have one piece of advise: if your exercise of choice is swimming, either switch to another activity, or forget about Alli.

Mike&lilly: No my husband did Alli with me so it’s not only for woman, I hope not, he would kill me if he found out it was only for woman after what he went through. Be both had to stop, I just couldn’t commit to the healthy cooking everyday and we didn’t loose that much while we did it anyway.

Lizzy S.: Alli is way over rated, well not here thank God people like me who tried it and know the truth. I do have to say that it does work if you really followed a strict diet and do some exercises. I lost 12lbs in 2 months. But alli was only responsible for I would say 10% of that weight. I stopped taking Alli after 2 months and lost pretty much the same amount of weight just by keeping the same food diet and doing same if not less exercises. With that said, it may work as a motivator, like I was always reminded if that I ate too much far in the begining of getting used to the diet but that’s all it did for me.

Marcia: Yeah, Alli was a good motivator, I guees, until I stepped on the scale and learned in the month i was on it my weihgt hadn’t budged at all. THen I got disappointed and am currently researching my options. i cannot do xenical either bcs i do not have health insurance, so maybe something herbal? No more Alli for me, tho, don’t see the purpose.

charlene: Here’s the simple truth: I lost my weight by dieting and exercising, not with Alli. I stopped using Alli after the first month of my diet, and the weight loss continued. Its ridiculous that some drug company is even taking money for this! WE have the power, we don’t need this pharmastuff.

kat: ALLI IS JUST A FEAR BASED DETERRENT IF U NEED TO SCARE YOURSELF INTO LOOSING WEIGHT YOU ALSO NEED TO GROW UP!!

Shyla: Just want to add to ’sharon’s’ post above: avoid running on alli too. A bit too much…movement, if you know wht i mean. It works you just have to be careful.

Yvonne: Okay, I lost weight while on Alli, but trust me if I had to do it again I would do something else. It was such a painful and slow process. I did stick to it because I am not a quitter but I recommend any diet plans (the most popular one like south beach or Weight Watcherx) but not Alli. To keep the weight off I am just basically keeping a balance and healthy diet and I do Yoga 3 times a week.

joan: i eat too much of everything, not just fat. that’s why Alli was a problem for me, it absorbed the fat but not necessarily the carbs i was overeating. Fat is not the whole story people, overall calorie count matters as well, and i was cursed with the worst metabolism this side of Carnie Wilson.

sam: the gas was way to uncomfortable & my wife thogt i was obnoxious. thumbs down 4 alli.

Becky: Now I certainly am not totaly comfortable taking a pill like this for weight loss, but I do have to give a thumbs up for Alli, because it is help me get my life back on track. Maybe it is not the pill itself, but just taking this, keeps me accountable. A mind set. I will not say everything have been smooth, there have been ups and downs. i just want to lose 17 more lbs and then i can be free & clear from using this forever(hopefully) because i don’t NOT intend to gain it back.

portishead23: Yeah, i am too impatient for Alli….i need something that’s really going to get things moving for me. I think maybe that would mean a metabolism pill. whats the best one?

Anonymous: Worst experience of my life. Constant gas on Alli. Luckily I was accident free but still…knowing the possibilities was not encouraging.

NOLAN: I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT JUST TO BURN FAT OR SOMETHING PLEASE HELP!!!!

DebbieCurry: Well, for me, if i am going to buy a diet pill i want it to be one that provides results above and beyond what i can do for myself. Alli really didn’t seem to improve on the hard work i was doing. I don’t think Alli should get the credit for my diet and exercise persistence.! but now i want to keep it off, and i just want something to stop the food cravings! Alli never did that, so i have to find something else.

boxer_babe: from the very beginning i was keeping a journal and following the healthy eating guide and really felt proud of my decision to get alli and lose the weight. it really does take a commitment, like any weight loss plan. i felt good because i thought i had all the tools, i know i had the dedication. but the problem is, it is very hard to stay dedicated when u don’t see the results. yeah i was slowly losing but i really think i was doing that on my own. the pills, just a waste of money. i’m glad i tried but they are not necessary.

Christopher: so much hype surrounding alli…seems like bad news in the end. thx for the comments,

emily: god, its a relief to hear of all your experiences with Alli….i thought it was just me, that i wasn’t trying hard enough, that’s why i wasn;;t losing weight. Altho i never had any of those infamous side effects, so I MUST have been sticking to a low fat count.Yet, nothing. I’m glad to hear that i am not alone. I tried and tried and eventually, i became discouraged and fell off the wagon. I would like to try again, but this time with something that will REALLY help.

Nora: I had no problem staying under 15g fat so I didn’t experience any of the stomach problems. However while on it after 2 weeks I realized that if I made it that far, I can do it on my own. So I am keeping the same regimen and it’s working as well without Alli. I am happy the pill got me motivated but if you already have the motivation you really don’t need Alli.

Brandy E.: Can hoodia bites candies be taken with the Alli i Think I would do okay on this if i really just was eating less overall.

charise: Here’s the bottom line: either you can do it on your own, in which case you don’t Alli, OR: You need some extra help, in which case Alli is NOT going to provide it. Either way, Alli is not the answer.

lynn: hi brandy – I eat the Hoodia BItes candy with Alli and they taste good-helps curb hunger which Alli does not really do.

Kendra: Have any of you actually tried Rx Xenical? Is it better?

KEnt: So it seems like a lot of us are learning that we CAN make some lifestyle changes, and ALli was maybe the kick in the butt we all needed? That’s how I see it..so maybe it doesn’t deserve the negativity? I’m giving a thumb down for the gas it gave me. Sorry but, it was so bad i had to sleep on the couch for a month.

Casey: Alli says that it is not for everyone I say it is for no one after reading almost all your comments (too many to read them all) and my own recent experience it seems quite obvious that Alli is not the best solution for us to loose weight. I did Alli for 4 weeks, I was sick for 2 weeks and still continued Alli to see what happened. What happened was that druring that time the frustration of trying to fugure out what to eat, I only lost 4 lbs!! So yeah big thumb down from me.

sandi: i tried to hang in there with Alli but it was just weak. I need something that is *stronger* than I am. That was the whole idea!

MomAtHome: No, i didn’t try Rx Xenical I read that it was basically the same thing than Alli except stronger. Now, what does stronger mean, I don’t know,

joyce: WELL I agree with what many of you have said here…I was interested in Alli primarily because it didn’t have any caffeine, and ive had horrible experineces with caffeine diet pills. but This was no better, really…it just was neutral, nil. The only time i really was aware that i was even TAKING a pill was when i got bloated or gassy, etc. You know a product is not so great when the only thing you notice are the side effects.

Wendy J.: RE: Xenical, I think “stronger” = more weight loss perhaps, as well as more pronounced side effects. If this is the case, I’d say Xenical is worse than Alli and I am not interested in either one anymore thanks for the info.

Ted: you also have to make sure you don’t drink too much beer with alli bcs that will cause a problem too. Good luck everyone.

paul: Too much restriction for too little a result with Alli. I want to be able to eat a variety of foods in moderation without having to worry about disastrous side effects.

Drea_DE: come on, People, we are not all walking around with diapers on, please. You just have to be smart about your food choices with Alli and it WILL come through. I do what I can to make it work and I think a pound/week is perfectly fine for me.

lizzy: I think Alli is as good as what you put into it. If you really work hard and stick to your diet and exercise, you WILL see changes! Enough of these negative posts, you must not be willing to WOrk.

Andrew: In my opinion if I lost much more weight while on Alli, I would have continued and tolerated the side effects but like it has been said, it’s just to worth it. thumb down.

audrey: No, i”m sorry, but I don’t accept this logic ….if I were so smart about my food choices and so incredibly disciplined as yall say i should be, i wouldnt be LOOKING FOR A DIET PILL IN THE FIRST PLACE. i don’t even understand why, if some of you are as disciplined as you claim, you are even ON this site at al! Well, I am among the mortal, weak and tempted….and the reason i am fat is that i LACK WILLPOWER ! there! i admitted it. so, isn’t there ANYTHING that can help me to control myself???? Cuz Alli is NOT IT my friends. No offense.

Mel: People are so quick to give their 2 cents to other dieters and say maybe we just don’t work hard enough to loose. I got Alli and really did work hard. The end result (3 lbs) was not worth my effort after 8 weeks of using the pills. Just accept, this is not for everyone.

Nathalie: It’s incredible what I read here, it’s like some of you guys didn’t know that you were supposed change our diet. They made that really clear. It didn’t work for me but I only blame it on myself. I should have been stronger and stop eating crap. I can’t so I stopped taking Alli.

veronica: ‘ve had better success with slim10 http://www.slim10.com/patented. i don’t want to say it works for everyone but if really are looking for a natural pill that works, you could try it. alli was way too slow, i felt and the weight loss is easier with this one so far.

Jerry Canfield: i am 43 years old, i don’t need nothing to make me crap in my pants just because i ate a burger!! i made the biggest mistake when i chose to give my money to Alli wish i read the review here first

Tylermendez: I read the same thing on sensational.com/diet, Alli sucks BE WARNED!

jeanna: Well, so many of you have said this so well, I feel like I’m just adding to the heap, but I do think that Alli is really not very useful for people who truly NEED HELP with their weight loss efforts. For those of us with slow metabolisms, outsized appetites, etc., this does NOTHING. It seems to work best for people who already are succeeding in a diet. That makes it redundant. People who know how to eat low fat and exercise don’t need alli. I need SOMETHING, thats for sure, but Alli was not it.

Barb: It takes a lot of willpower to diet no matter how you do it. In the end it is you who decides to exercise or to not have dessert, to eat your vegetables, etc. I will agree with Nathalie that we all are in part to blame for our own failures. However, I don’t feel that Alli was an neccessary aid in my weight loss, since I didn’t realy lose much. for that it gets a thumb down.

sarah: This is exactly what I needed to commit fully to losing the baby weight! I have never been able to stick to a fat-reduced diet before. Alli is very motivating because first and foremost, no one wants ‘treatment effects’! And it is doubly motivating because I know it will take care of 25% of the fat that I eat (at 9 calories per gram of fat). I really get why they named it ‘ally’, because I feel like it’s supporting my dieting and making it more effective than I could alone.

Katherine H.: After 2 months of taking Alli I stopped because I was having some g.i. pains, even though I was following the guidelines of a low-fat diet. I continued on that diet and have lost 9 lbs to date (in 4 months). I am proud of myself for commiting to a healthy diet and glad I got started with Alli. I feel better now, though, knowing i can do it on my own and do not need this drug. I still have a long way to go before I reach my target weight but the pain on Alli was not worht it.

Debbie, CA: I have lost 35 pounds while taking Alli. Let it be known that in addition to taking Alli, I also eat a low-fat diet and exercise daily for at least 45 min to an hour and drink lots of water. I have not experienced any side effects from the use of Alli and would recommend using Alli.

Julie Fraze: I have experimented with just about every diet pill that is on the market and I have a hard time losing weight because I am an insulin dependant diabetic.I’ve been on this diet for a month and I have lost 26 pounds! My goal is to lose 96 pounds total. The only drawback is that your stool turns to water and you become a little gasey and it makes it hard to hold. So be near a bathroom and be ready to get there quick. That was a perk really for me being that I was not able to use the bathroom for like 2 weeks at a time! Now I go,go,go! I will keep telling everyone that wants to lose weight that this is the best diet pill I have ever found! Thank you alli!!!

Terri: I started taking alli as a last resort. I had lost 50 lbs. on my own thru diet and excercise. then I became injured- No more running for a while. Well it has been 1 month and I have maintained my weight loss without daily 6 mile runs.Alli is the reason I’m sure. It helps to keep me in line on diet.Side effects suck for sure but beauty has it’s price.

KaRa: I really think those who are dissapointed with this pill is because they are not taking it properly… I have only been taking alli for 13 days and have already lost 11 pounds… Like it says it is not a miracle drug… it is meant to help you along the way… i have had a treatment effect only twice and it was manageable and not so bad.. and it’s all within your control… eat right and you wont have to worry about those side effects… you cant expect to lose weight if you are lazy and choose to eat eat eat all the wrong foods all day long.. dont blame it on alli because you cant lose weight…

Misty: USed Alli for a month, never swayed from the directions given and only lost 2 lbs. the side effects were minimal for me, I just didn’t get the results I’d hoped for. Time for something new…

Carol: Well as I look at it there are pros and cons about anything that you take for weight loss. I have been using Alli for few months now and yes it does change you bowel situation when you are still eating fats..its like if you are going to spend the money for something to help you lose weight why don’t you also do your part in cutting out the fats, yes if you go out and eat geasy fried chicken you can expect to end up in the bathroom soon after. So if you want to eat a meal that is fatty just don’t take it at that meal there is always tomorrow..I have had good luck with it and with any diet pill you have to learn a new lifestyle of eating and continuing to eat the fats is just beating the purpose of buying the pills. All foods have fat in pretty much but leave the high fat foods alone and the pill will work fantastic in eliminating the other fats in food that aren’t so greasy.

dianne: Does Beano work for the gas ?

laura: as far as the gas & beano, i didn’t have any relief from that…the best thing is probably what Carol said, just dont take an Alli if you know your gonna eat something too fatty. ANyway, I like the fact that Alli works gradually over time, that sounds healthy, but I also want to do my part to move things along. So i’ve been doing Jillian Michaels *(From the biggest loser) and its a fun, motivating diet and exercise program. I;m taking the ALli along with this diet, which is fine bcs I’m not eating very much fat at all. Thats the thing with Alli – it can be your “ally” so to speak, but you also have to be fighting the battle yourself. So that is what i am doing, and I have lost a total of 26 lbs in 2 1/2 mos. I’m really proud and happy with my results.

MyrnaC: I am full of gas every single minute of the day, and still in the same weight!!! Maybe is the gas… hehehe Also, I am taking the pills since February… No more!!!

Angela: I had a terrible scare while on Alli. I had been taking it for about a month (only one pill a day) and had the usual gas and bloating. Suddenly a neon yellow-orange substance was constantly leaking from me, even 4 days after I stopped taking the pill. My doctor said to never take Alli again. It has been 5 days since I stopped and it has cleared up. I would not recommend Alli to anyone.

Mike E: I lost nine pounds in two weeks. I am not sure whether it is Alli or my portion control that has helped me lose the weight. I am an athletic type I was 224 now I am 215. I think the combination of exercise , alli and portion control helped me lose the weight.

Tara Ann: Yeah, Mike – i’m having a similar thing going on…can’t tell if the 14 lbs i lost is due to the Alli or the South Beach Diet (recently started that and I am LOVING it). I would say def. keep up with the portion control, just as i am keeping up with S. Beach, because from what i understand, Alli doesn’t do a whole lot on its own. still i am seeing results, and I almost don’t care where theyre coming from! It’s happening, finally!!

Jacqueline: Seems to work for me, but I don’t eat too much fat. One POSITIVE side effect I have noticed is that my normally and lifelong dry skin on my face is now more supple. I even woke up one morning and thought my face felt “oily.” Got a zit a few days later which I hadn’t had happen in eons. The final clincher was today at bridge my girlfriend told me “Your skin looks so moisturized!” So I count this as a positive since I have dry skin…and the zit went away and I haven’t gotten any others.

yolanda: Alli worked great for me lost 8lbs already no problems with leakage or gas at this rate my 20 lb loss will be achievable well before my target date

amelia: I took orlistat as prescription Xenical, and then as the OTC Alli. If you’re relying on Alli and not changing anything else, you’re going to be disappointed. Alli is another tool in addition to diet and exercise, not in lieu of either. I know I have lost more weight with Alli than I woud have without it because I’ve been roller coaster dieting for years and see the difference in my success with Alli. I have lost and kept off 40 lbs and have been at my goal weight for some time. Again, if you’re not going to put forth the effort, don’t waste your money. If you’re going to make the effort, you may find greater success with the use of Alli (and I’d say side effects are minimal if you don’t go crazy eating fatty foods, moderate amounts of fat have been fine for me without side effects).

jamie: i have read all the comments and am not sure what to do i was gonna try it. i have been upand down in weight after my 3rd child i got on metabolife when it first came out with ephedra i lost about 50 pounds in only about 5 or 6 months i once i started seeing results i started exercising everyday and had no appetite on these pills then i got too skinny so i started to eat more and after a while the pills stopped working and the puonds came back i think i got immune to the pills , also they banned ephedra i havent found anything too work since i went from 95 back to about 160 does any one know something that works with quick results!

Rosa: I love Alli,I’ve been taking it for 2 1/2 months now and I’ve lost 19lbs and I’ve had no side effects. What I think helps is Alli does remind me to eat healthy and stay on track which is just the boost I needed.

charlotte n.: just started on alli and am a little uncertain now…i have also had a lot of gas/bloat over the past week and am following the diet guidelines so i know i am eating right. maybe i need to combine the pills with another program as well to get results. but neon substances leaking…ugh, i don’t know if i could deal with that.

marigold: ALLI IS EVIL! It does not matter if you follow the guidelines, the second you swallow the pills, you can expect to have UNPLEASANT side effects! I kept coping with the gas, bloat, occasional leaks, etc for the first 2 months but when I had a sudden uncontrollabel urge in the middle of a sales call…that was the bottom line. i was strict and this just messed with my body too much. NOT recommended.

jane: I’ve been taking Alli sense January,08. I have lost 80 pounds to date. Just by watching what I eat, calerie counting, and watching the carbs. Alli is working for me and I will continue to buy it.

Madison: Well that’s great that some of you experienced such a dramatic result from Alli, but hey, are you sure it’s not from your own efforts? Sounds like some of you ladies are doing a real kickass job on your own, without the alli. As for me, my weight loss has been moving at a snail’s pace, and i am having some serious trouble resisting my food cravings, even knowing about the Alli “treatment effects” if you follow. Its pretty sad when you still can’t control yourself knowing that the consequence is going to be fecal incontinence. But whats cool is i started taking a Hoodia pill (hoodiap57) and its been helping me stop eating just naturally, not through “negative reinforcement” like Alli. And the weight has been coming off. 23 lbs in 6 weeks!

CeeCee: Well I started Alli last week…and I have yet to have the horrendous side effects. The only side-effect I noticed was that now I got 2-3 times a day…and my bowels are soft, not loose. I have’nt experienced the oily disastors. I’ve had some gas…but I thought was due to the fact that Im eating more green veggies. AND…before I started Alli, I made sure I didnt eat anything oily for 3 days…no chips, fried foods, or pizza(my favorite). And so far so good, I’ve lost about 2 pounds. And as far as exercising is concerned…Im doing a little more walking than I normally would do, but thats it. So Im doing fine with my Alli. I guess too many people thought that this would be a “wonder-drug” and that they could eat whatever they wanted…those people have to realize that they still have to be responsible for what they put into their mouths, wonder-drug or not. And I’ve found that since I’ve trained myself not to eat greasy foods, I no longer crave them. The pill is supposed to assist in weight loss…not take over completely. Im just glad I have’nt experienced the oily azz yet….LOL. Good Luck!

danielle: CeeCee you are right…you DO have to still control what you put into your mouth with Alli. It sounds like for you it was kind of easy to do so, but I struggled while taking Alli. I guess for me the biggest problem was that my appetite was the same. When i smelled the heavenly scent of pizza i pretty much would start drooling. And from there, i couldn’t help it. i didn’t think about “treatment effects” i just wanted some! And sadly, i did have a few issues. After that, I found myself skipping the Alli when i knew i was going to be “bad,” and that sort of defeats the whole purpose. So, it dawned on me that this was not my ideal approach. I needed to stop myself from WANTING to shove food in my mouth. So i tried a hoodia pill (hoodia P57) and i find i am more able to resist my usual “trigger foods” in fact, I am much less hungry that i used to be. I have lost 12 lbs arleady within a month with the hoodia. I guess the bottom line is, it depends on what type of problems you have, what will work. For me, appetite control is key,

amy: Diane, wow, not only did you get results that are completely outside of the range advertised for Alli and Orlistat, but you somehow managed to avoid the unpleasant *treatment effects* that occur in just about everyone else! i don’t know how you got to be such an exception to all the rules, but you should be very happy. In general, the rest of us can’t expect to be so lucky. I read that the manufacturer claims for every 5 lbs you lose Alli can help you lose an additional 2 lbs. Eight pounds in a week is not normal, especially if you were eating whatever you wanted. And if you were not even trying to eat right, you definitely would have had treatment effects. I dont want to insult you but i am skeptical of your “success story.” If it’s true, good for you! But everybody else? I wouldn’t’ get too excited about these *ATYPICAL * Results. In my first week on Alli, I lost half a pound. no treatment effects bcs I watched my fat intake. But certainly nothing as earthshattering as reported by diane.

michelle: The bottom line is that you MUST not go over your fat grams per meal because if you do, you’re in trouble! I started in July and even with cheating and drinking and not taking it like I’m supposed to, I STILL lost 20 pounds and have not gained it back. I don’t believe you lose tremendous weight with this pill; however, you will learn to eat properly. Once you do that, why not just do it yourself instead of spending all that money?

Rose: Madison–tell me about the hoodia pill..I have the same problem…alli didn’t stop me from being hungry

Melinda: Hi Rose, I’ve also switched to Hoodia P57 (more information here http://www.hoodiap57.com/purehoodia) after discovering it on this blog site. Alli felt unnatural, I stopped after only a month (which some may say was not giving it a fair chance) but i have a feeling that taking these pills will help shrink my stomach and then I won’t even want to eat as much once the weihgt is off. good luck!!

Lisa: I have been taking alli for over a year now and i think it has helped me. I only needed to loose about 15 lbs. In the first week i learned quickly what I could and could not eat. It was trial and error for me. Here is why I like it personally-I am in my 40’s and have dealt with severe constipation for years. I have been to many Doctor’s and have tried EVERYTHING! I exhausted every effort and nothing worked. After adjusting to alli it has made me so regular. I have lost 35 pounds over the year(some due to stress) I take it now just to maintain regularity. If I feel constipated I take alli. I initially took it to loose weight but am now taking it for this reason.

Sascha: Wow, Lisa, that’s a significant difference…you ended up losing 20 lbs more than you needed to? you must be a stick now! I’m not surprised Alli helps your constipation, though, because it sure gave me the runs, no matter what i ate or how little. i could only stick with it for 3 months and said, enough.

Jane: Great I spent 50 bucks today buying Alli!! Opened it and read the pamplets that come with it. After reading all of the comments here, I’m afraid to use it. For all of you that gave it a thumbs down, my question is Did you follow the low fat rule ? Keeping it to 15 grams a meal? And if you did ,did you still get the gross side effects? That scares me away from the stuff!

elaine: i have been doing a low calorie and a low fat diet. I started to take alli to help with my weight loss. I have lost a total of 14 lbs. i do not have any issues with accidents in my pants. You have to follow the directions and consume low fat foods. There is no diet pill that will make you lose weight while still eating the foods that are not good for you. I imagine if losing weight is your goal you have to change your eating habbits.

jen: I think it’s funny to read all these negative comments. How many people that gave Alli a thumbs down measured every bite of food they ingested. I admit, it’s not easy to measure everything you eat but that’s the best way to take off the weight. Alli is not a magic pill that allows you to eat all the fat you want and you can lose weight. Alli is a supplement to an all ready low-fat/calorie diet. I eat between 6 and 10 grams per meal and about 250-350 calories per meal with a couple snacks (usually fruit or a 100 calorie pack) in between. I’ve been taking Alli for a couple weeks now and am down 4 pounds. I credit Alli and my low fat diet….haven’t exercised much. I am not starving myself and when I’m hungry I stick with steamed veggies. I have had no treatment effects with the exception of some ‘pizza oil’ in my stool which is perfectly normal on Alli. I will not cheat while I’m Alli because I will experience the negative effects. I believe most of the negative reviews came from people not committed to following a strict diet. I personally have a very sensitive digestive track but everything is ‘releasing’ normally.

Marnie: Sorry to say, I was very strict with my diet and really kept my fat/calories intake to a minimum on Alli, and though I never went in pants or anything, i just had this constant bloated feeling. I did it for 2 months, lost about 3 lbs total and didn’t think it was worth it to continue.

Maggie: I have been on it since Feb 14. I have lost 44 pounds. I am not sure it is so muckh the Alli now that I have learned to eat healthier and exercise

joanna: I agree with what most of you said – — Alli really is a slow-going approach, and really a determined person can lose just as much weight without it. Plus, the side effects can be freaky (tho i never had any). but basically, i think this is just a minimal diet pill, more of a ‘placebo effect’ than anything else.

karen: i have been taking alli for 1 1/2 week and have had no side affects i watch my fat in take and keep it between 7 to 15 grams and i have lost aprox 4 lbs in one week eating between 1600 to 1800 calories a day and doing moderate exercise i have no thyroid and this is the first time i have lost weight with out starving and eating healthy usually i have to cut calories to around 1000 a day to loose and that is misrable

karen: i have not even had soft stools i had to take a laxative to help me go but i have lost around 5 lbs in one week with out starving i am alowed to eat between 1600 and 1800 calories a day that is not bad in fact i was only eating 3 times a day now i eat 6 times a day i have been eating a lot of veggies and fruit and even sweets i just do the low fat and eat the serving there are a lot of great things out there sugar free jellos frozen yogurts i love a diet that is good for me and allows me to eat thanks alli

anonimous 06: ally is a very good diet program it make me lose weight like crazy.

maire: ally it really work im proud of my self. these are the only pill that i think it really work.i use to take other product to lose weight but i never see the result, and when i str to take ally i star seen what i really want.Thank Ally.

Tamra: Was hesitant to buy this pill, bcs I had read all the negative comments. BUT when i saw Alli at CVS one day I just picked it up anyway, praying that I wold not be another horror story. WELL, despite all the pains I took to keep the “treatment effetcts” in check, I still had an accident one day! And, this was after almost 4 weeks of being “good” – all it took was one little slip up – mind you, a LITTLE one, just the tiniest bit of extra fat (it was my bosses birthday and i had 3 bites of cake, no frosting) and I was literally sprinting to the bathroom. All I can say is, if you follow this diet be VERY CAREFUL and get the panty liners. SErioulsy.

kendra t.: somebody mentioned that all is more like a placebo effect and i have to agree. when i was taking it i was SO CAREFUL about my diet, i began to wonder if i even needed the pills. i thought i’d save my $50 the next month and stick to the diet guidelines. Guess what? weight loss was the same.

Tamara B.: I am undecided on this product. I did lose 6 lbs. in about 5 weeks, but that was combined with major healthy changes to my diet and excercise. Am unsure how much weight loss was due to the lifestyle changes and how much to Alli. Side effects weren’t too bad for me.

madeleine: Yes, I agree – this is a “which came first, the chicken or the egg?” type scenario….Did i lose weight because alli WORKS, or did the fear of Alli side effects make me more diligent than usual? In the beginning, it wasn’t too clear which it was. But then, as i started to see the weight come off, I realized that i didn’t need the fear of pooping my pants to make me eat right…the RESULTS were worthwhile enough. So i dropped that Alli and you know what? I kept right on losing weight without it. Interestig discussion and a great blog, thanks!

Rebecca: OK I’ve heard a lot of negative things about this Alli plan but the truth is it teaches you how to eat healthy. If you eat foods that are high in fat it does not allow them to be aborbed. Yea it’s messy but it can be controlled. It’s up to you to decide how committed you are to lose the weight. I have now been on the plan for three weeks and I have lost 8 pounds. I use the pill as a tool to teach me what is healthy to eat. I know if I eat a food that is high in fat I will get messy results. What’s the old saying, “We must lie in the bed we make”. My results are without exersice too. Read Tamera B’s comments. She tells the truth. Alli is a long term solution, not a quick fix that will only last a while. The thing I do like about Alli the most is the online tutorial that helps teach you how to eat healthy. It is also forgiving without great consequences. If you feel like you just have to have a bite of chocolate, eat it. You’ll pay a small price but you won’t gain the weight back.

Roxanne: The very act of taking a diet pill was what bothered me most about Alli. Yeah, the plan is helpful & informative, but it didn’t “teach” me anything. I already KNOW how to lose weight, I am new to this “overweight” thing since giving birth last year. I just don’t have time to exercise like I used to, and well, maintenance wouldn’t be the problem its the LOSS that i need, fast. I have been slowly losing on my own and wanted something faster. This pill made me feel sick, and I was already eating low fat…no weight loss, beyond the rate of 1 lb every 2 weeks that I was at before. If your making drastic lifestyle changes, congratulations, you dont need Alli! NOw, what do I do to get these 22 lbs off before CHristmas?

Anonymous: ii wusz about 2 get thiisz piillsz pero ii see all thiisz bad ass commentsz ii dont even wanna try iit … ii wusz takiin sum diiet piillsz theii worked very good pero the bad part iis tha the 2nd tiime ii bought iit .. iit diidnt work

Doris: I have read some really horible reviews about this product and quite frankly taking Alli can only become a bad thing if YOU ARE NOT STICKING TO A GOOD DIET! It’s that simple. It seems to me a majority of people are taking these diet pills and thinking it’s ok to eat fatting foods. Why go on a diet and try to lose weight if you are going to eat donuts and junk. This is what causes these bad side effects. You are suppose to stay away from fatty foods anyways if yo are trying to lose weight. From my experience if you go on eating fatty food, Allie will most likely keep your weight the same not changing much. You have to read the material and stick with it. yes, it’s true one morning I ate 2 donuts and a large cup of Vanilla expresso coffee. On my way to work I thought I was going to die. I learned my lesson and find I can find healthy sweets if I really want to. With a balanced low fat diet I have felt fine, no problems, I wonder why?

Jeanine: No offense, Doris, but your the only person on here I see talking about eating donuts while taking Alli. I see you learned from your experience, and thats great, but, I actually can relate to many other people on here. EVEN WHEN FOLLOWING THE PROPER GUIDELINES, I had gas, bloat, and cramping from taking Alli. I’ve decided that this – or any pill – is jsut not for me. The South Beach diet is where i’m headed next.

Karen: I east fairly well, but a few days a week I go out and eat and go overboard. Taking Alli for those times has helped me lose those extra 7 or 8 pounds I gained from a stressful time in my life.

PharmacyTech: Common people!!!!! The way this drug works is it doesnt allow fat to be absorbs so it leaks out of you when u eat fatty foods. This drug doesnt leak the existing fat out of you. If you have a severe eating problem then this is the drug for you. If you just wanna lose weight and don’t have an eating disorder so even bother. Xenical works the same as Alli. If you double the dose of Alli guess what its equivalent too??

Cindy: i actually think allie is great! in just the first week i lost 4 lbs. in total i lost a little over 15 lbs in just a month. i did have the side affects when i would eat more than i should have but hey, thats the whole point. you eat a good portion size, you excercise and take the pill and you lose weight!

Tamara: Ha, I’m not sure really. I am willing to bet that a lot of weight loss from Alli is the commitment ppl are making when they start taking it so they won’t experience the poopies. And another bit is probably water loss from all the diarrhea involved. I don’t think it’s a miracle of course and I have taken 35 days worth not losing much more than I would with just diet and exercising alone. It will affect each person differently and when a person reaches a plateau in their weight loss, Alli is not going to help. The one thing that is helpful though is the many menus they give u in the starter pack, so u will know what to eat. It specifically states that if u are on a very low cal fat diet Alli won’t help. One part also stated it will block 25% of the fat intake, so if u are sticking to an already low fat diet and exercising, then the Alli can’t work, cuz u already have burned all the minimal fat u have eaten from exercise!! I guess Alli is just a tool to help u learn to control yourself and learn better ways to eat… Will i continue to take it? That depends on how this next 25 days goes when taking into consideration how much I have exercised and dieted.

camille: Well, you know, like you said Tamara, sometimes the treatment effects of Alli (’the poopies’ as you put it) aren’t necessarily a bad thing! I mean, one day after i had a side effect i noticed i was down 2.5 lbs the next day!! So i kind of feel like even when you screw up with this, it turns out OK. just make sure you drink water so your not too dehydrated.

judith: UGH Camille your post is DISGUSTING, no offense to you personally…are you suggesting that it’s GOOD when you have uncontrolled fecal incontinence, simply because it causes TEMPORARY weight loss???? So you are like a….colon bulimic, or something! I don’t even know what you would call that? Disgusting, that’s what. I unfortunately had a few times where i cheated with Alli, and i got some nasty surprises. Yeah, i might have weight 1 or 2 lbs less the next day, but that weight came right back. There’s nothing permanent or healthy in what your’e describing. As far as REAL weight loss, Alli is as slow as a snail to produce results.

sheila: I’ve been taking alli for a week now. I followed the diet plan and reduced the calorie intake. The pills definitely keep the fat from absorbing. I only have the “treatment effects” when I eat a meal high in fat. And the effects I have are not severe. Nothing I can’t control. I haven’t exercised and I’ve lost three pounds so far. So for me this stuff works.

ryanna: Yes, i am not exercising either, i am taking Alli with a reduced calorie diet (currently 900 cal per day). I am very strict and try to stay at 20 grams of fat per day or lower. I have not had any side efffects and i have lost 5 lbs in 9 days! Alli is an EXCELENT diet pill….if you work hard it will work.

natalie: Well i think “not exercising” and essentially starving yourself is not something to be proud of, girls! Diets that are too low in calories tend to lower your metbaolism and make you GAIN weight after you’ve gone off the diet! The kinds of extrem diets you are talking about is not even what Alli is meant for. It sounds like you’re just tacking this pill onto an eating disorder, and that sounds just terrible. I tried it with a reasonable diet and exerise, and you know what happened? NOTHING. But that doesn’t mean starving is the answer! I’m on Hoodia p57 now and i am eating less naturally, but not STARVING.

katie: What the hell, am I the only person who has the opposite side effect? I’ve only been taking alli 4 days, but in that time, instead of having urgent bowel problems, I went the first 3 days without going, which is weird because I eat a lot of fiber and before the pill never had that problem. I’ve had no side effects at all besides the mild constipation, but I only eat maybe 20-25 grams of fat in an entire day, and am eating about 1200-1500 calories per day, which so far on it’s own had me losing about 2lbs per week, well, that and moderate exercise, I was just afraid of hitting a diet plateau so I started taking alli. I’m trying to join the airforce and need to get my weight down soon, and get in better shape so I’m doing everything I can.

Jennifer A: WELL GUYS IV BEEN USING ALLI FOR THE PAST 9 MONTHS I NO ALOT OF MONEY BUT I LIKED IT BECAUSE I ALSO TOOK ADVANTAGE OF IT, I WAS EATING OUT AT FAST FOODS AND I SEEMED NOT TO GAIN WEIGHT, BUT I DIDNT LOOSE WEIGHTS BECAUSE OF ALL THE BURGER KING AND MC DONALDS, BUT AFTER, GETING OF TIRED OF EATING OUT I STARTED A WEEK BEING A VEGETARIAN AND THEN I SAW ALLIS REAL WORK, NO MORE GAS BLOATING OR OIL SPILLS, THOSE OIL SPILLS WERE ALL JUST THE FAT I WAS CONSUMING, NOW IM HAPPY AND CONTINUING TAKING IT, MY PROBLEM IS HOW DO I GET OFF THIS PILL I THINK I MIGHT BE ADDICTED, BECAUSE OF THE FRIGHT OF GAINING WEIGHT IF I STOP.

tracey: Hey there Jennifer - Well, here’s some good news…did you notice WHEN you started losing weight? You said it yourself; it was when you stopped eating all the Burger King and MCDonald’s! You say that’s when you saw “alli’s real work,” but maybe it was just YOUR BODY responding to a healthier diet?!?!?!? have you considered that? In my humble opinion, you should NOT be the least bit scared to transition off Alli…all you need to do is keep eating right, and you will be fine. I switched from Alli to a Hoodia pill (hoodia p57) which i can take whenever, and even into maintenance. and i noticed that as long as i kept eating healthily, i STILL lost weight! good luck! you can DO It! You already have!1

donna: katie: i think we’re in the definite minority here, but i experienced constipation with Alli as well, along with painful and uncomfortable gas. I wasnn’t loosing weight with it, so i flushed it. It made me feel horrible. I might try something else.

amber: I love alli.. I have been using alli for 6 months and have lost 23lbs.. i feel great and have none of those treatment effects if i follow the guidelines.. alli works for you if you work for you!!!

Cindy S.: After reading ALL of the posts on this blog, I’ve noticed that most people who like Alli claim that they have zero “treatment effects” from following the guidelines, but, a lot of other people mentioned that they DO follow guidelines and still have issues. I was losing weight, AND following the guidelines and still had too much gas/bloat. I think that maybe it was due to my new food/lifestyle choices more than antying else. I have stuck with the healthy diet and also started to take Slim 10 to lose at a faster rate and in one month I already have lost 16 llbs. Its a better choice for me.

Jennifer S: I know that for every thumbs up, there is a thumbs down. But this is what I have to say: Alli is a great diet pill. The first week I had some treatment effects, but since than I haven’t. I have been using Alli for 8 Months and have dropped 85 lbs. I have been following the core plan on weight watchers as well. Which is a low fat diet that alli recommends in it’s starter booklet. I eat three meals a day followed by an alli pill and I try not to eat past 7 pm. I have and still will recommend alli to anybody looking to drop a few pounds or a lot. It has worked wonders for me. Thaanks alli, with you i have 7 more pounds i need to lose and i’m taking you all the way baby. You have changed my life forever!!!

Becka: I have lost 7.6 lbs in one week with using alli. I hope my losing keeps it up. I’ll check back later and let everyone know how I’m making out. Pretty good, so far

Judy: Um, here’s what I want to know, Jennifer & Becka: Are you, by any chance, the same person? You sound a lot a alike, your tone….the way you are promoting Alli…..??? You’re really not supposed to do that on here…..

Anonymous: just not sure what to use on my diet. just looking to lose like 30 pounds after having a baby. This sounded ok at first but now im not so sure.

Ramona: Thank GOD for this blog!! I cannot believe I did not think to look online 6 mos ago for a good diet aid…I saw the commercials for Alli and thought, it must be good. Finally an OTC weight loss pill…well dUH! There;s more than one, we just don’t see them in our faces ever day! I was following the Alli diet plan and taking the pills, had a few side effects here and there, nothing worse than cramps and gas, no big messes like others have described. But the weiht loss was SLOW, much sloweer than anticipated. And I just didn’t feel right. My mood started to change, for the worse. I looked it up online to see what to do and found this blog site. And THEN I learned about more natural options. I quit taking Alli and bought Slim10, it looked like the most potent pill, yet still contains herbs not chemicals http://www.slim10.com/patented. I have now been using this for 2 months and am already down 3 sizes (from a 16 to a 10) I still have a ways to go but I feel great so I think I’ll get there without any problems. Just wanted to share my story, i hope this helps!

alice dye: ive been takeing alli .im on my first bottle of 120 n ive lostaround 15 lbs already.its been about 2 months since i started taking them.

Alex: I am really surprised by all the negatives people have experienced. I have been taking alli regularly and have not experienced any of the indicated side affects. I had reached a plateau in my weight loss and with the help of alli I was able to lose an additional five pounds. I have been very happy with the results.

Anonymous: I’ve just started taking Alli and yes, have had some side effects which definitely will keep me in line with the 15 grams of fat per meal! I know we all want instant gratification and no one wants to really WORK HARD to lose weight but the three pounds a year is what you would lose if you did absolutely nothing else to change your lifestyle. You have to work for Alli to work for you!

sherri: I agree you do have to work for Alli to work…..but I felt like I was doing almost ALL the work with this….All this pill did was spare me the humiliating incontinence when I controlled myself. Which is really not that impressive when you think about it. I guess I don’t need that kind of scare-tactic motivation…I am willing to work I need something that helps me give me an “edge.” I recently started taking Slim10 and that stuff really brings something to the table (no pun intended LOL!). It works on metabolism and cravings rather than causing gastrointestinal weirdness.

ValleyGirl: I do not blame Alli for my failure but I do have to say I had no success with it. My definition of success being loosing weight regularly and not feeling too sick with it.

Destiny: FOR ANYONE LOOKING TO USE ALLI FOR THE FIRST TIME: If you are not ready to change your eating habits for the long term, you are simply just not ready to loose weight with any weight loss system AND keep it off. Don’t be scared away by the dreaded “treatment effects” if you don’t plan on eating bad they will not happen to you. ****** I have suspicions that these dreaded stories are from people who misused the product and I think every successful Alli user can testify to that. ***** If you can

Patti: Wel I found there was a sort of adjustment period with Alli and it took awhile to get used to eating different and not having any sudden runs to the bathroom (or worse). I have been using for 3 months and the weight loss is SLOWer than expected but its finally comeing down a bit. If this is what I need to finally watch my diet, I guess its worht it.

Abigail T.: Sorry but I was VERY careful about what I ate, after the FIRST accident with Alli happened on day 8 with the pill. I did not want a reoccurence of that moment! SO painfully humiliating. I never “planned on eating bad” as Destiny says but, hey, I gotta live a little! If I wanted to just cut back on calories, I would’ve done a liquid meal replacement and not Alli. I stopped taking Alli 6 weeks ago and started on Hoodia Bites…I eat less but when I DO slip up a bit, I don’t have to worry. And I’m losing weihgt 2x as fast.

Robert: Ok I started taking alli July 2008. I walked about 20 minutes three times a week. While on alli, I ate the same foods I would normally eat (fast food, pizza, etc). By the end of November I had lost 35 pounds. I have went from a weight of 215 to 180 in that short period. The trick with alli is you have to be CONSISTENT in taking it. Everytime you eat something, you should be taking a pill. Of course I had the horrible side effects to the product because I ate horrible foods, but I could accept that as long as I could still eat bad foods and lose weight. Remember, you can’t skip using alli during the 2-3 month process, or else it won’t work. I am very satisfied with the results, and I still have not gained back any of the weight since stopping in October. 100% recommend

Michelle: Hi everyone, it is very interesting to me how many dieters seem to think of Alli as an opportunity to “eat bad foods and still lose weight.” I know this sounds like a great idea but its actually the opposite of how Alli works. The fact is, Alli works rather slowly even when you do stick to a low-fat diet, but it takes even longer if you eat fatty meals. Not to mention, the treatment effects, which have been thoroughly discussed here and which I won’t’ get into again. But needless to say if you go around eating “horrible foods,” you may as well slap on a Depends because you are going to have major trouble. But above and beyond that, for those diehards who are willing to soil themselves just so they can continue eating junk food (its hard to believe there really are these people!), you also have to consider the long term effects. What will you do when you stop taking Alli, and you are still eating terrible food but no longer “flushing” the fat out in the form of fecal incontinence?Weight gain is what happens. The whole idea of permanent wieght loss is about eating better, eating healthier. Not trying to “get away with” eating horirble foods (at the cost of your dignity) so you can temporarily loose weight. I hope some of you will understand what i am saying. I am only trying to open your eyes. good luck!

renee: Alli was too slow. I switched to a Hoodia pill called Hoodia p57 and its helping me to have fewer cravins and eat smaller portions.

julz: I love it. Have taken it for a month now, not watching what I eat at all, and have lost 5 pounds. I am going to keep at it.

Gabrielle: How can you follow the Alli diet and not watch what you eat, Julz?? You must have a stomach of steel or something…I was very careful about my fat consumption, and STILL experienced some accidents. Won’t go into details but, it was not pleasant. Let’s just say, for me, it didn’t take much more than a chocolate chip cookie or a little hidden butter, to set my system off. Yeah sure, i lost wegiht but the effects made my life hell! Slim 10 is better, I ordered after seeing the link above. No side effects, faster wegiht loss. I still try to eat healthy and stay active but its nice to not have to constantly worry about, uh, soiling myself ;)

manda: I started Alli and have started losing some weight. Eating 15 grams of fat or less for a meal also helps in losing weight…. gotta work out alot and stick to it!

BAh_nao: OMG… PPL stop whining… THE pill works for ppl who are serious and follows directions… I started my pills on Tuesday December 30th and today is January 2nd and I have lost 6 pounds in 5 days… I will continue to take the pills and lose more weight… I LOVE it… Don’t hate on the pill casue you think that you can eat everything and lose weight… It doesn’t work that way.. I am sure no pills work that way… It annoys me how much ppl say it don’t work when they have also mention not keeping up witht he directions… DUMBT… Okay we’ll good luck to the ones that work and keep it up!!!

victoria: I started alli on dec. 28 today is jan.2 2009 1 week with a smile. i got on the scale 2day i’ve lost 4 lpds in 1 week :) stick with it!! the trick is DIET with it! slimfast for lunch healthy choice tv dinner. + fruits + veggies for snacks keep in mind no fats no leaky stool. WISH ME LUCK I WISH YOU THE SAME :)

Victor Burnett: I use Xenical(orlistat) 120mg RX only. I take one before each meal.I am a Veteran and the V.A. gives me my Orlistat.I have never had a problem but a little oil in my stool.I understand I must watch my fat intake. I try not to use butter or fat. I lost 20 pounds in 4 months with walks each day. People do not give up,after all we did not put the weight on over night, so we can not expect it to come off over night thank you Vic Boise ID

Lucy: I love this product! It really works. I have been using it for 3 months, but in the last few weeks I noticed I am loosing my hair. I am under a lot of stress, which could be why I’m loosing my hair, but I’m wondering if it could be from alli. I have never skipped taking my vitamins and wondering if any of you experienced severe hair loss? I would hate to stop taking it if it is not the cause.

rose: I have decided to use the ALLI and did not receive the results i expected.Firstly, have been constipated and i am feeling sleepy most of the times. Those side effects were never mentioned!!I think that the consumers must give people the real deal of the products they put on the market.

Lora: I’ve used Alli for a little over a year and I love it! You have to read the directions to get the benefit without suffering the “alli-oops” side effects. Yes, if you eat too much fat you *WILL* have anal leakage of orange oil. Knowing this will keep you honest with your fat consumption. If you do blow it, you just need to be prepared with a pad in your panties, ladies! I never take three pills in one day, like you can, per the instructions. I only take an average of one in a day and the pounds have been coming off much more easily, but even faster with some exercise!

esther: thanks for all the helpfull comments i wouldnt be wasteing my time

Elizabeth: I find it amusing everyone is complaining about the side effects of a drug designed to HELP you lose weight. If you eat fat, you will have side effects. If you don’t eat fat, this drug will help you lose weight. You have to limit your caloric intake and exercise. There is no magic cure for losing weight!!

kelly: I’m not going to poop my pants to lose weight… I had bad luck with this product, so I really started to count my calories and exercise about 4-5 hours a week, and lost 50 lbs in 6 months. It took awhile to gain it and it’s going to take awhile to get off. Once I accepted that fact, I realized I don’t need a drug to help me do it… especially one with these side effects. For price, and stupid book included, it’s a rip-off.

Carrie: I took Alli about a year ago and with in a couple of months time I lost 10 pounds. I thought I could do it on my own but with in six to eight months I had put the ten pounds back on. I am starting Alli again because I know, for a fact, it works. Yes there are side effects but you have that with most anything you take. I only take one pill a day and only that if I have something that is heavy in fat at dinner. A 90 pill bottle can last me 6 months and I don’t have the bloating and “embarresing moments” that some have. You really have to pay attention to your body to see how much of it you can take. Like I said, I only take one pill a day and that’s only if I eat a lot of fat. One thing that I have realized is, the weight will not come off overnight. I had a hysterectomy two years ago, at the age of 28. My metabolism is slow and its hard to keep the weight off. Exercising 20 minutes doesn’t work. You really need to sweat for at least 45 minutes… but don’t go grab a snickers bar! :) I have also discovered Viactive. It’s a chocolate chewy vitamin for women. Ladies, if you want energy, take this! I LOVE it! Good luck with your goals! God Bless you…

Maria: IT seems to me that most people on here are making the same argument: follow the instructions for no side effects. I DID follow the instructions – i did NOT want to chance any of those nasty Alli effects. But guess what? Unless you are eating carrot sticks all day long, its gonna happen. Its not just from the obvious vices like chocolate cake (which, btw, i did NOT eat on this program) but from anything merely satisfying. Alli was too much of a guessing game, and the weight loss was too slow anyway. i am looking now for anohter plan, that does not involve drugs. I am curious about Jillian Michaels program & mihgt sign up there.

Katie: Alli is great! I have tried many other diets but none have come close to the success I’ve had with Alli I’ve been using it for three months and have reached my goal weight lose of 20 lbs. I have had no bad side effects. If you take Alli and watch your fat intake as directed, you will lose weight without any side effects. I used Allie while doing Weight Watchers and for me it was a great combination. I have never had this much success with any other diet.

KAYLA- SANTA FE, NM: I dont know about all these Nay-sayers of the Alli program, but I used it for about 5 months and lost a good 25 lbs. It does work just give it time and dedication, like most things it doesn’t happen over night. You can control the side effects by watching what you eat. I think it says something like no more than 15grams of fat for meal and 10 for snacks. Its not that hard to keep track of. If what you really want is to see some results. Overall I would say it works if you want it to. I stopped using Alli about a couple of months ago, and did not regain any of my weight that I lost. So it was a success for me and I plan on giving a second go to hopefully lose another 20 by summertime! Oh yeah and Im not a regular exerciser and it still gave me results! So good luck to all that plan on trying Alli and hopefully you can have the same successfull experience I have had.

renee: Ok, bottom line: Alli is a mind-game you play with yourself. If you know you are likely to poop your pants if you eat more than 15 grams of fat, you will be scared into eating right. It is the eating right that makes you loose the weight. All that Alli supplies is the fear. So, fine…maybe for some people, that little “mind game” of fear works out. That’s great, but why should the drug company Glaxo Smith Kline get to reap any rewards from that? I will tell you why: because they sold you the fear in a pill. They make you think that pill is the only thing that is keeping you in line, when in reality, YOU are keeping you in line! my advice is, empower yourself! Don’t let Big Pharma get richer off of your fear.

doug: I secretly replaced my wife’s Alli pills with a natural joint-relief supplement (i chose this because it was a light blue capsule just like Alli piils are). She had been attributing her weight loss to the Alli where i thought it was because she was on a low-fat diet and was walking every day. Well, she kept on losing the weight, and within that month she actually lost more (11 lbs) than she had the first month (7 1/2 lbs). So i guess i was right!! now the question is, do i tell her?

Celia: All i am going to say is I HAD A NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE ON ALLI. You probably have seen enough here to deduce the rest. thumb down.

Anonymous: I had a baby 3 months ago and put on about 30 pounds. With in a week of having my baby I lost 20 pounds due to breastfeeding, but when i stopped so did the weight loss. I just turned 31 and asked my husband for alli for my b-day and now I read all of this. Well I’m starting it today. We are all pretty healthy eaters in my family, I guess I will have to be extra healthy. Don’t want to have an accident while I’m out walking the baby. I’ll post in a month with any results

Barbara: I definately had the side effects the first few days with Alli (restroom runs), and the explosions in my stomach. But then I noticed I started bloating even more and quit going to the restroom after every meal. I gained 3 pounds in the six days I was on it and stopped taking it. I feel miserable and have an appointment with my doctor to see why now after I eat (even a salad) my stomach swells so that I look 5 months pregnant. They say not to take it if you have gall bladder disease, but the doc said I could since mine was removed. Now I’m thinking, maybe it should have said to make sure you have your gall bladder still in place.

Traci: The bottom line for me is that Alli didn’t seem to do much of anything. I lost a lot more weight doing the South Beach diet, and I felt a lot more empowered and not worried about accidents.

vickie: seems to me if what I am reading from everyone,if you follow the plan then you don’t have anything to worry about. It’s the ones who still want to maintain their original lifestyle that are having problems. With anything, you have to change your lifestyle, way of eating, excercising.Everything has to change and be maintained. It’s up to us what we do.

sheila: ON THE PLUS SIDE: If you stick to a low fat diet, you don’t have to worry about treatment effects from Alli. ON THE MINUS SIDE: If you stick to a low-fat diet, you won’t NEED Alli.

grace: i only lost 3 more lbs after i started taking alli. this stuff is really slooooow.

susan greer: I went to see my doctor about my weight problem and he suggested Alli. I had finally felt like maybe this was the one pill that would be effective. I have been on these pills for one month and have lost 4 lbs.. I am very disappointed in the results.

lovin it: Alli has been a very good diet pill for me. It promotes good eating or side effects,if there is an improper diet. The alli and exercise do work together if you allow it.

Littlemanmom: I purchased the Alli starter pack & read the ENTIRE booklet (Yawn). After reading the comments posted here I decided to try an experiment & delay the start of the Alli pills & just try following the instructions in the booklet (without taking the pills themselves) for a couple of weeks. This wasn’t rocket science…reduce fat, increase water intake & exercise, etc. The 2 Alli-free weeks I lost 15 lbs!!! I kept a food diary with the exact foods, amts and times that I ate. I thought WOW! With the addition of the pills this should be GREAT. SO for the next 2 weeks I used my food diary & repeated the same EXACT diet with the pills. I only lost 3 pounds! I had terrible bloating, gas pains, & felt like dirt! I thought “maybe I need to get used to the pills & these side effects will go away…so I went another week…I WAS WRONG! I got worse & didn’t lose any weight at all in that last week. I think the Alli pills are a rip off. Just be warned.

Sonia: I found myself being very uncomfortable with Alli a few times but managed to continue for a month just to give it a fair try. Well after one month, I lost 3 pounds. Definitely not worth the discomfort is my opinion in other terms thumb down.

anonymous: I just started alli a week ago. I did my first week weigh in and lost 4 1/2 lbs. in my first week. I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid last year and tried everything to lose weight. Went to my doctor and have been on medication for the thyroid. Still, I was working out nearly everyday–and nothing. I talked to my doctor about this on Jan. 6th, she suggested trying the alli. I have followed the instructions with countin calories and fat grams and have continued working out 6 days a week. I have had no treatment effects and will continued to pursue my goal of losing 20-25 lbs. You must incorporate exercise into this program and keep a close count on calories and fat grams. Good Luck to everyone else who will succeed on this program.

Rich: What happens if you drink beer while taking Alli

mary: I’m so tired of reading about everybody wanting to just take a magical pill and lose weight. If u take the pill great…but with any diet u must watch what u eat and exercise. The pill won’t do all the work for you!!!!

gina: Rich – i guess i thought i could “get away” with beer in terms of treatment effects with Alli…i’m not sure why i thought that, maybe because it’s liquid? Anyway, i drink beers that are pretty high in fat, and they tend to have a gassy/laxative effect to start with. With alli it was…not good. I would avoid beer with this…esp. since beer is counter productivce to your diet anyway.

Colleen Jane: I was very dedicated to loseing weight with Alli…dieitng exercising, etc. The interesting thing was, even after i ran out of my first bottle of Alli, i kept losing weight through the diet and exercise. IN fact, I lost more weight during the 4 months off the alli than during the time i was ON it.

treysmama3905: i bought the pills last night & started for the 1st time today. i’m hoping to lose 40+ lbs, wish me luck!!! after reading all the side effects it sounds pretty scary, but it just seems like as long as you do everything right & ‘by the book’ it should be fine!

Helen: Well, that’s what I thought, that if I just kept a strict diet with Alli, I would be, in the clear, I guess. Luckily for me, I WAS able to avoid the horrible accidents some people talk about during the three months I was on this, but I still had very bad gas and constipation. Intense exercise helped on occasion but then I felt really weak. All in all, it was not a good experience. I only lost about 4 lbs, and am looking into Jillian Michaels program now…I’m done with pills.

Lfrom SC: I’ve been using Alli for about 5 months and have lost 25 pounds. I really haven’t changed my eating all that much. I have some side effects but I’ve gone down 2 clothes sizes! I don’t know what I’m going to do without it!!

Genna: See, L from SC, you are supposed to be changing your eating habits with Alli it says so right in the starter pack you got. I have to say that i dont’ know how you lost that amount of weight without changing your diet….when i was eating regular amounts of fat on Alli i was having disastrous treatment effects and no weight loss. Then once I cracked down and went on a low fat diet i started slowly losing weight. But then i ran out of Alli and i kept losing weight. So in the end it was the diet that did it. You say you don’t know what you will do without Alli? I have an idea. Eat a lowfat diet.

julie: I have tried everything, including a Raw Diet which I lost 12lbs. on,but reach a standstill. I’ve been on Alli 3 wks. and lost 9lbs! With NO side effects. I still eat healthy, but now I know how to watch my fat & calories. I also take acidopholis which probably helps with my not having any side effects. If your serious taking vitamins at night is no big deal, I leave on my nightstand. good luck.

RLR: as i read all of the comments i quickly see that its the lack of committment. everyone wants to take a pill and do nothing else, wake up people, you will need to exercise and change the way you eat or no diet pill, or diet plan will ever work for you. just by reading the plan i can see it will work, because the biggest thing is changing the way you eat. seeming like common since to me. i just started the plan and lost 3 lbs in 5 days. we all just eat to much and bad foods. it seems to me that this plan like others is trying to get you to make changes, life long changes. anyone looking for a pill to lose weight, good luck because your not going to find it.

Angel: I like many other thought that Ali was worth trying. This product is the worst diet aide that I have ever tried. I not only became bloated and gaseous and spending a lot of time in the restroom, but when there was nothing left in me a disgusting orange oil came out of me!!! I stopped the product immediately. If you decide to try this product, please be careful. You really should consult your doctor first.

natalie: omg angel that sounds so disgusting…ugghh. orange oil, i want to puke. Well when i used Alli, I stuck to the low fat diet bcs i was terrified of effects like you just described. So on the low fat diet & exercise and Alli, I was losing weight. But then, like a few others i’m reading here, I ran out of the Alli (and it aint cheap) and figured I would just keep up the diet and exercise and see what happened. Well guess what? I kept losing weight at the same rate. See, I think Alli is kind of like training wheels on a bike: it’s nice as a psychological tool at the beginnning, but you don’t really need it.

Christina: I started Alli a week ago, and I have lost 5 lbs. I don’t have any of those horrible side effects, and I am eating between 7 to 14 fat grams per meal. I did get gas one time, so I won’t eat what gave me the gas, but that is it! I haven’t had oil in the toilet or anything, as I am very careful to watch serving sizes vs fat grams!

Tamara: I should probably be more careful at counting the fat in my meals, you are right Christina. It’s just so hard!! I didn’t think it was gonna that hard for me. I’ll try to be a bit more serious and I am sure I will feel a lot better.

shauna: I think that too many people are looking for a miracle in a bottle and don’t want to put in the work. You only have the side effects if you eat too much fat. Alli has been a great support for me. It just helps to keep me on track and make good choices. I have lost 10 pounds in just over three weeks. I have made some sacrifices and this is definitely not for you if you don’t want to make the changes, but I am super motivated and this has helped me to stay motivated. This product is not for you if you are looking for the easy way out.

Anonymous: I still haven’t seen if it’s going to work well as I’ve only been taking it for about a week but it’s made me much more aware of what I eat. The risk of bowel troubles is a powerful deterrent from eating beyond my targets and, btw, I HAVEN’T HAD ANY BOWEL OR GAS TROUBLES AT ALL so just because a lot of people complain, doesn’t mean it will happen to you.

Allyson: Alli ALONE will make you lose about 3 pbs per yet. The point of the Alli PLAN is to get you into a healthier lifestyle with better choices PLUS excercise. Everything together you will lose more weight, but if you sit on your butt expecting Alli to be “magic” and make you fit into a size 4 jeans…its not going to. It’s called a plan for a reason. I’ve been taking it for 3 weeks now, plus going to the gym at least 5 days a week. I’ve lost 12 pounds. I indulged with a hamburger and fries from a resturant last night and had my first “side effect” this morning. But you live you learn. Also, if you KNOW you are going to be indulging in more than the reccommended fat intake, you DONT HAVE TO TAKE THE PILL. You dont need to take it every time you eat, especially if taking it ensures a nasty “side effect”, like at a wedding or date or something like that. It wont block so of that fat, but I think that these are the same people who are mad its only 3lbs per year. Bottom line: get off your butts and MOVE AROUND.

marie: sadly, Alli didn’t seem to do too much for me above and beyond what Diet and Exercise did….before i stared dieting and exercising, I wasn’t really noticing too much independent weight loss with Alli…i never had the side effects of oily feces but i did have extreme bloating that i found uncomfortable. Once i found that i could take charge thru diet and exercise, i felt empowered enough to do it myself. I also started taking a Hoodia pill to control my appetite. that combination is really ramping up my progress, i’ve lost 17 lbs in 5 weeks.

Shannon: Dear Anonymous, Well, i have to say that the Alli “treatment effects” are NOT just something that people are “complaining” about…even the COMPANY acknoweldges fecal incontinence, oily stools and gas. so please, dont mislead dieters into thinking this is just a MYTH created by whiners. The fact is even the COMPANY warns you to WEAR DARK PANTS TO WORK or bring a change of clothes! This is in case you SOIL YOURSELF! sorry to be gross everyone, but i don’t liek someone coming on here implying that these side effects are just “made up.” they are NOT.

Laura: I just started taking Alli on Saturday (3 days ago) and have had absolutely none of the side effects. For me, it keeps me motivated to eat better food so that I don’t experience the problems so many people have talked about here. So whether I end up losing weight directly or indirectly with Alli, it will keep me much more aware and able to make healthier choices.

catherine: Well, that’s exactly it — if you eat a low fat diet while you’re on Alli, you won’t’ have the side effects. But that’s’ the thing: if you eat a low fat diet, you will lose weight anyway, and i lost as much without Alli as i did with it. So its just kind of an emotional crutch. I guess if you need that, that’s fine…but i decided to save myself the money & potential “accidents’ and stop buying it. I’ve switched to a Hoodia pill and I’m seeing a lot more benefit.

Dawn: Okay, there are a lot of negative comments here, which means it doesn’t work for everyone. However, I bought the starter pack of 60 pills (20 days worth), read all the information that came along with it, have done no additional exercise and I have lost 6 lbs. It does make you very cautious of what you eat, and I needed that. I have virtually no will power normally when it comes to sweets, but with this, if I don’t want side effects, I have to be cautious. I know it doesn’t have an appetite suppresant, but I don’t see to be as hungry. btw..I have NOT had any of the “accidents”, or uncomfortable gas. The worst thing that I have experienced is more frequent trips to the bathroom, but nothing terrible. I just bought the refill of 120 pills, which will take me through another 40 days. It definitely is not a quick fix, but for me taking off 6 lbs already is thrilling. I will continue this for the next 40 days, and we’ll see where I end up. 1.28.09 Be back to post then.

Windy: Hello all. I am one of those people have struggled with my weight for a long time. I have tried diet after diet. I don’t exercise much and one day I went to my doctor and asked him if there was something I could take to help me lose weight. At the time I weighed 300 pounds, this was in August 2008. I am still on the pill and to date I have lost 40 pounds with very little exersice. If you really want it to work for you, you really need to follow the plan the way you are instructed to in the instructions. I know its not for everyone but it really does work. It also says that once you lose the pounds in the beginning then you continue to lose about 2 pounds a week. I hit a time when I would cheat on the plan and did not lose anything BUT I did not gain any back either. I myself would recommend this product to everyone. Sure its pricey but to me its worth it. Hope this review helps. And good luck to all who have tried it and are still on the plan. 1-28-09

BiancaGen: BR, NH, I have been using Alli for about a month now and I’m very happy with the product. The first week I did experience the treatment side effects, but quickly learned how to “eat clean” and have not had any problems since. I also have been losing anywhere from 2-4 lbs a week. This is the type of product that keeps you honest. It’s not a miracle pill, you still have to put in a lot of work. I would reccomend this product to anyone who is willing to put in the work required to see results! Thanks Alli for helping me jumpstart my healthy lifestyle!

cheryl: It has been the best weight loss supplement I’ve ever used. I believe people are looking for tremendous weight loss when using Alli. It is an addition to a “normal” weight loss program. Yes bowel movements are more frequent and gas is increased, but it’s worth the sometime inconvenience. I’ve found that the biggest benefit is that I am not constipated from reducing my fat intake, and of course I’ve lost a FEW more pounds per month (few is the key word). It’’s worth the price and sometime bathroom inconvenience.

Pam: I have read all the positive and negative posts and I was just ondering has anyone who has taken Alli had thier gallbladder removed? was wondering if alli would mess with your digestion since no gallbladder…I have digestion problems now due to having my gallbladder removed and would hate to add to my problems…

stacey: My friend was taking Alli and she started having gall bladder problems shortly after she began taking it, and next thing you know her gall baldder was functioning at only 20% capacity andd had to be removed. i have read that people who have gall bladder problems or “chronic malabsorption syndrome” should not take alli. Hope that answers you. I tried Alli briefly but i didn’t loose any weight and had hideous treatment effects,.

brenda: The weight loss with Alli was sooooooo slow, i’ve never had a diet pill that worked so slowly before. This is even with me dieting and exercising! I really don’t see the point of taking this pill. the only thing that made me lose weight was my own sweat and determination, thumb down.

Tamara: Alli sort of got me started with watching what I eat but if I was the rate it as a diet pill it would with no doubt be a thumb down. I didn’t loose more with Alli than I am by just watching what I am eating. If anything I felt punished by the pill when on rare occasions I would “cheat”.

Patrick: I looked over many of the negative comments posted about this product and found that I agree with much of what has been said. However, i can’t agree with the reoccurring concern about weight loss. Many have said that the pills do not promote weight loss and that their weight has remained the same, thus causing great frustration and disappointment. I have found however, that Alli does work for me. In fact, I have lost almost 30 pounds since November 2008, about three months now. It has indeed been a slow process but when coupled with a nominal bike-riding schedule, the weight has come off. Alli has also helped in changing the way I view foods with high fat content, pork ribs, double cheeseburgers, pizza…i could go on all night. But after only two or three weeks of taking the pills and realizing the disgusting truth about excess fat in my system, it was “FAT FREE” for me… good grief, I sound like my Mother! Anyway, I do believe that the “whole” process has made a difference for me. I will continue to use Alli with the understanding that when I sometimes feel the need to “splurge” during a meal… I’”ll make sure I’m never too far from home! Patrick- Alabama

Anonymous: Heather- first of all you need to be committed to losing weight, there are no quick fixes. I have been taking alli for 6 months and lost 46lbs. It has showed me a new life style. I feel GREAT and I eat healthy and exercise. My health has improved, my energy has increased, and my skin has even improved. Sure you can lose weight fast on some other diet pills but you dont learn anything and then you gain the weight back sometimes even more. This is about changing your diet habits and getting your lazy butt motivated. I love alli but if you are not serious about losing weight the right way and starting a new life style then dont bother!!

elizabeth: i tried alli, and gotta say the bad side affects are like i said BAD!!!! i do not recommend this diet pill at all! i had really bad gas and bloating, i was also hungry even more than be4 i took the pill!

SuperNana: I actually went against the ratings and gave Alli a try, I wanted to find out if I was one of the lucky one for who alli would work. I can officially report that I lost no weight at all with it and not only i didn’t loose weight, but like most people here, I have felt extremely bloated the whole time.

lorie: hey, elizabeth, just to clear it up (because i had a similar misunderstanding) – alli doesn’t do anything for hunger, it has no appetite suppressant in it at all. i just assumed it would, but it doesn’t work like that. It passes undigested fat out of your body, that’ why the oily discharge and incontinence. Its totally up to you to eat less fat, that’s the only thing that will stop the g.i. problems and accidents. I’ve been taking some Hoodia with it and that seems to be keeping me in check. I think i’m going to drop the alli since it seems unnecessary now!

louise: Alli was the slowest weight loss pill i ever took. Mind you i was dieting and exercising with this and the weight loss was STILL at a snails pace. when i ran out of the alli, i just kept doing it on my own.

Chris M: I have lost 16 lbs on the diet so far and have been on it for a little over 12 weeks.. I am reading a lot of people complain of the side effects.. that is the whole idea!! eat right and you wont have them.. I have tried a lot of products and this is the best.. no jitters, i have not noticed any side effects (unless im bad) but its training me to eat better which is the whole idea!

jessica: ew, its “training you” to eat better, chris? as in, potty-training? sorry but I would like to hope that i could find a better way to deter myself from overeating than the threat of pooping my pants if I’m “bad.” i mean, this is scary stuff, Freud would have a picnic with all of this. Other than the “scare tactic” of fecal incontinence, Alli did almost nothing for me. NOw i’m “scaring myself” with the idea of high blood pressure, diabetes, and just having to put on a bathing suit come spring. Those are the real threats of overating anyway, not this weirdo diaper stuff imposed by Alli.

Chunky: Personally think it is fab. I have had no side effects at all but then I have read the instructions and advice re eating too much fat and I have followed a healthy low calorie, low fat diet. No embarrasing side effects, in fact, I feel fab and have actually lost 7lbs in as many days! Don’t forget to take the vitamin pills.

Lauren: I had to comment after reading some of these other comments. If you are experiencing side affects you aren’t following the plan. This is not a magic pill. If you eat low fat meals (less than 15% fat) you will not experience any side affects. I suggest anyone who is SERIOUS about making a life style change, try alli. It keeps you honest. You know if you eat something you shouldn’t what will happen. It helps to change your lifestyle. If you are eating good foods you feel better too. Its a win win. I do suggest getting the book. It helps to make good decisions. I lost 112lbs. in 14 months with alli. I experienced side affects…when I ate food high in fat.

jessica: hey Lauren, I guess you didn’t really read my post from earlier….i guess i shouldn’t have made jokes about it, because that causes my real point to get lost. Anyway, what i said is that i think Alli is a scare tactic (You know, as you say “it keeps you honest”) that threatens you with the humiliation of losing bowel control if you mess up. My question is, why would you need the deterrent of soiling your pants to “keep you honest”? Aren’t the very REAL threats of diabetes, heart disease, liver problems, and joint problems enough for you? It scares me that people are so unmotivated that they need to “scare” themselves in such a gross, demeaning and infantile way. It scares me, that’s for sure.

Kimmy: i completely agree with jessica. I find the concept of this Alli pill to be repulsive. I am a home health aide and deal with many clients who’ve been paralyzed in accidents or other health problems, and very often they have lost control of their digestive and g.i. functions. i know they would do anything to regain the dignity of having control of their bodies. The very idea that healthy adults in the prime of life would willingly subject themselves to that kind of bodily helplessness –simply because they don’t trust themselves to cut back on the fat — is genuinely disturbing to me.

MTH: I have been on Alli for 6 weeks now, I have lost 15 lbs but more importantly I have lost a lot of inches….my pants have gone down 3 sizes, I went from wearing XL to MEd/Large in pull on tights and skirts…..my top sixe has gone down from XL to MEd/Large as well…boobs went down a bit too…a cup size, but I would rather have that then bigger boops that are flabby…which is all boob are anyways…..my tummy has gone down so much as my rear has too…..my skin looks amazing and is not overly oily anymore, my hair is still healthy and strong and growing even faster…….as for the side effects they are managable…I even tested and went and had pastrami meat with some fries and a coke…..two days later I saw and felt the effects…..especially because I don’t eat like that too often…like once a month…I even had a bout a 1/4 of coldstone’s ice cream and still was ok….IF you start this pill and think you can eat whatever you want forget about it…..you have to be used to eaten right and excersising…..otherwise as with eveything you’ll end up back where you were…I also used Medi fast before and it did work but was way too expensive…..this I can manage I eat every 2 – 3 hours dronk a lot of water and just watch my FAT and calorie intake….which I was doing anyways….I have 50 lbs to go…[140] and I am sure if I keep this up I will get there maybe by late summer which is fine with me…then it’s a tummy tuck and a boob job…yea!!!! Remember you didn’t get fat over night it took work and effort…well for some…losing it will be a little bit harder………..

joy: that is interesting that you are saying your skin and hair are in good shape bcs Alli depletes your body of vitamin e….and brittle hair and dry skin are considered to be side effects. they certainly were with me. .well, i suppose everyyones body is different bcs i noticed treatment effects even if i used too much salad dressing on my salad (Newman’s OWn LIghten Up! Balsamic Vinaigrette). I also found for example that if i ate food that was not necessarily too hi in fat but which was inherently gassy, then i had some unpleasant treatment effects (increased bloat and gassiness and sometimes loose stools). I thought that these issues only presented themselves if you had too much fat in a given meal or day, but from waht i could tell, gassy foods made me feel very uncomfortabnle. Granted i did not have fecal incontinence simply from the gassy food. but still, it was extremely unpleasant to feel so bloated with so much air trapped in, it was almost painful. The worst part of all was that the weight loss was very very slow. i had to work hard for every single lb. and then i plateaued out at 9 lbs in 2 mos this is with diet and exercise. I feel like this did not help my slow metabolism at all.

lorrie/ arizona: I like ALLI, sure you go to the bathroom a lot, but think of all the grease that you are getting out of your body. just think all that grease you ingest is sitting in your arteries ,and in time they plug up and you have a heart attack, and may die.you can cut your fat intake but a lot of food you eat has grease in it. so to me its better to take it and get that disgusting grease out of your body. My friends take it to, and it has lowered there cholesterol by 100 points. that is awesome to us. they didn’t have to take cholesterol medicine, to lower there cholesterol , the ALLI did it for them. They took it for one year to lower there cholesterol , and it worked so well they keep taking it. We all like that it takes all the grease out of your body.We try to cut the fats and grease we eat, but sometimes we still get grease in the food we eat,so its good we take Alli .We all love it. we just wish it wasn’t so expensive to buy. thanks for the Alli

Karen and Ricky: My husband and I have been using alli for 4 weeks now, and we have had great results, he has gone from 368 to 335, and I have gone from 178 to 164. We have started exercising by walking 40 minutes every other day, and by using an eliptical for 20 minutes on the off days. Yes, we really have cut our fat intake, we eat a lot of lean cusine, with a bowl of select choice soup, and a salad with fat free dressing. Maybe its fear of side effects that keeps us from fats, or maybe its the motivation of seeing that we are losing weight. Whatever it is, its working. I tried to encourage my husband to try going without the alli, but he wants to keep using it for another month, and then try our new lifestyle change after that.

carlos: i take Alli and have not encounter any adverse reaction.i believe that if you follow a diet plan with low fat intake there will not be a problem.most people can not live unless they ingest some kind of meat product at every meal.i would say these are the people who have the problems with Alli.remember only 4 oz of meat and there will be no problems.

yoyo: I started Alli 3 months ago and have lost 8 pounds without diet or exercise. The first 2 weeks was kind of bad as far as gas and you wouldn’t want to get to far from home. My sister-in-law has lost 95 lbs. in 12 months with exercise. So I am a firm beliver that Alli works.

runnergirl: i’m an active person who wanted to take something that would give me a jump start to my sloooowwwwww metabolism – so, I tried alli – what a waste…I did not get any of those nasty affects which means I probably eat a low fat diet anyway….I saw no results at all….

kat: all the commercials were so promising & i thought it be easy to loose the wieght with alli. i got a starter pack and followed all instructions (not easy btw) and felt good about my changes in diet but did not drop the weight. and thats not the worst, i know it gonna take time. but the problem i had was a lot of gas & blote like oters says. if it was faster i could put up with it but too slow.

Sacha: I have been taking Alli for about a week. I eat low fat heathly meals and walk about 1 mile a day. I just need to loose that extra 10 lbs. Thought Alli would help. So far so good. I don’t eat tons of fat like some of you people and I am not sitting around on my couch waiting for a miracle pill to make me skinny. I have had no bad or embarrassing bowel situations because like some of you, I don’t scarf mc donalds all day long.

June: Seeing Wynona start on Alli motivated me to do get started too but in almost amonth,I have not lost any weihgt with this! And I of course modified my eating habits and you’d think, at least doing that would help. My weihgt is the same, this was sposed to work! And FYI sacha, I don’t scaf mcDonalds and its insulting foryou to say so. I not waiting fo ra miracle, but a month! I thought i’d lost weihgt by now. I don’t know what to do.

Jennifer: I have been taking Alli for about a month. I have noticed that my urine smells like ammonia. Could the Alli cause this?

jeanie: I have followed alli instructions faithfully for a month now-no results-actually gained a pound. Have eaten 1400 calories a day as recommended for me, no more than 15 grams of fat-and walk/jog 2 miles a day. What a disapointment.

Mary: I’ve wondered if the most successful people who use Alli were those who ate less fat. Perhaps such varied results between dieters might be age, how long you’ve been at your present weight, ability to exercise, amounts of food eaten, etc. I think it might be worth a try anyway.

Victoria: Well no this is not a miracle pill I lost 25lbs on it. I lost it a lot faster because I was also exercising, and eating right but of course you have to while taking alli. I know people who have negative comments are just lazy and expecting the fat to just melt away but guess what its not gonna happen and. Those of you who are having bad side effect ie..oily spotting well quit eating all that fatty food of course its gonna happen Duh.

Karen: This (Alli) was the slowest weight loss pill i have ever taken, bar none. i remember i was so excited bcs it was generating so much buzz when it first came out. But now, for the life of me, i can’t imagine why. Maybe bcs this is put out by a big pharma company that can afford to do lots of advertising? I don’t know, but what i do know is even with diet and exercise, the weight loss was like watching the grass grow. In the end i lost only 3 lbs in 5 months! On the plus side i never had any treatment effects, & i know that is because i ate right. i agree that people should not compalin about side effects that are their own fault. However, i do think there is a legitimate reason to complain, and that is, that this pill barely works, if it works at all.

EILEEN: I purchased ALLI online today…I should get it soon..Willing to give it a try!!!I’m pretty good at following instructions!!!

Shantesha(AKA)FreakbyNature: I personally can say, “Thank YOU Alli”. I started out on May 30,2008 weighing 235lbs. Here it is February 2009 and I am at 160 lbs. I was at this weight in December of 2008. I have gone back to eating lots of sweets so I am stuck at this weight. But I will take it over 235lbs any day. It took alot of committment and exercise. Also dedication and motivation to get to wear I am. If I had to do it all over again I would. Thank You Alli. Not one day of poopie pants.

Mrs. T: Hey guys I love this pill! Yes you may experience unwanted side effects if you eat more than 12-15gms of fat per meal…but I do ediets home delivery meals and they are 12 gms of fat per meal and I exercise…I couldnt lose 1 measely pd for 6 mos and currently i finally went from 161.5 to 158.5 in 3 days!!!! I cant believe my results! I am finally out o f the 160’s! And yes folks you get gassy but just drink a lot of water follow a low fat eating plan take the vits ADE&K and dont ake alli if you eat a low fat meal like steamed veggies, steamed rice, fruit and steamed chicken…it states you dont need to take it if you eat a really low fat meal…that will help you to not overload on alli and its effects.

margaret hefner: Alli is something you can use for an added incentive to eat right, but as far as actually aiding weight loss it is the SLOWEST. PILL. EVER. i recently added a hoodia appetite suppressant to my regimen and that is making much more of a difference for me. with the alli i had lost only 3 lbs in 2 mos. with the hoodia it was 8 lbs in the next month.

hannah: Alli can help if you diligently stick to your diet and exercise program,..but in my opinion its not the best “bang for your buck” because it doesn’t improve your results that much. i’ve been using Slim10 lately and that seems to be making a much bigger differnece.

Crystal W.: Well, I didn’t think it would work because I’ve tried EVERYTHING and failed. I can no longer take anything with a stimulant or appetite suppressant, because I was recently diagnosed with hypertension. So I tried Alli and wasn’t I was pleasantly surprised, when I lost 14 lbs in two weeks! I lost 4 lbs the first 4 days. That was an encouraging boost, so I kept going from there. Here’s my take on how to make this work: Alli won’t do it for you. You have to be ready. You have to seriously commit! You have to attack this like a college course that you MUST get an A in! That’s the way it has worked for me. The meal plan is tedious. It’s not for the half-hearted. You have to devote time and/or money to it, and to recording the nutrition stats of every morsel and drop you eat and drink, but it’s cheaper than Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, E-diets and all of those Meal Delivery Programs, where the food looks scrumptious, but the cost is prohibitive. Alli has a large database of food that has the nutrition already worked out, including many commercially bought items from the grocery store, fast food or sit down restaurants. The only side effects that I have had is very mild constipation-like pain, but I don’t think it’s from the Alli pill. I think it’s from the multivitamin I take with Iron in it. Oral iron always constipates me and I happen to be an Acute Anemic, so that just the suckiness of my life. I haven’t had any bowel incontinence because I keep my FAT GRAM INTAKE UNDER 15 GRAMS PER MEAL! Let me reiterate that, because I think it’s crucial. “KEEP YOUR FAT GRAM INTAKE UNDER 15 GRAMS PER MEAL!” I think the negative digestive side effects are a really effective tool in behavioral modification. It’s a really nasty reminder not to overindulge and in reality, I think that’s key to why Alli works. They say the Orlistat carries the fat out of your body. Yeah, yeah, yeah…whatever! Scientific mumbo jumbo. What really keeps me in line is the fear of soiled drawers and so far so good. Also, if you’re not exercising, just forget it. Alli is not a magic pill. You have to put in your sweat equity! I joined Curves a week before I bought Alli. I work out on the machines Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and walk 30 minutes the other 2 weekdays. I take Saturday and Sunday off, but that means I went from zero exercise in the last 20 years, to working out 5 days a week! One final note: you really have to WANT this for it to work. Watch “The Biggest Loser” or a similar reality show to get inspired. Please wish me luck and pray for me, as I will be praying for all of you.

ann: watching the biggest loser was actually a big inspiration for me, though i didn;t get into the show until this past season. i had been on alli when i started watching and well, seeing that people were losing so much WITHOUT a pill got me thinking. jillian michaels has a program that includes healthy meals and exercise, and i got off the pills & signed up for that at the Jillian Michaels website. never made a better decision: in 3 months i dropped 62 lbs! i only lost about 12 lbs in the same period on alli.

HereIgoagain!: Well, I wasn’t able to control my eating, so I went and bought ALLI when I saw it on sale. I started taking it the next day, I felt that 1600 calories for the day was a bit much, I tried staying at 1600, but some days it was between 1200 and 1400. I lost 2 pounds the first week and the second week also, the third week was 1, but the side effect it gave me was really bad constipation… I had to stop takeing it, but I’m still logging my daily intake, I refuse to go back to my bad eating habits….so even though I’m not taking it now, I’m following their plan. Good luck to everyone and don’t give up on yourselvs…

Natalie: The weight is just so slow to come off with the Alli diet pill. I was hopping that by now i would be the ideal weight but I am very far away from my goal. I am gonna have to look for something else, this isn’t working. I do feel lucky not to have had the side effects some of you are describing, it’s probably because it really followed the diet.

Melinda, VA: Ok, I just bought Alli today, took 1 pill with my lunch and now I feel more bloated than I have in a long time. Hmmm, I wonder if the store will take them back for a refund????

Linda: To be quiet frank; I feel that this pill is excellent for those of us that are on a low-carb diet and exercise regularly. It is perhaps a good solution to the occasional cravings of ultra fatty foods from time to time. I don’t believe it is a pill to be taken everyday! It helps me with sticking to my diet and not feel guilty when I indulge in those unhealthy fatty foods. I give in to my cravings for deep-fried and fast food about twice a month and those are the only times I will take this pill. It really helps and it really works.

Paula/North Carolina: I am 41 years old and have struggles with my weight all my life. I got a wake up call from my doctor. Either loose weight or we are going to look at bypass surgery. Well that is not something that I want to have done. No way no how. I have been taking Alli and I feel that this product does work well for me. YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES!! They tell you if you can not change your eating life style this will not work. I have lost 28 lbs in the last 6 weeks. I have really only had one side affect due to my own doing. I hate a dinner high in fat to see what it would do to me. It is not a thing I will want to do again. I have also bought a blank book and write down everything that I eat. You will not believe how writing this down will help you eat better. You do not want to put bad things down so I just skip it. Alli seems to be working for me but I am totally comitted to the program!!! No there are no quik fixes unless you want bypass surgery. You have to change your state of mind, eating habbits and i walk everyday I can now. I love getting on that scale once a week and seeing I am a little bit lighter. Even my co works keep up with my progress always asking me on weigh in day how I am doing. Alli has helped me but only because I am totally commited!!!

BRENDA: it seems when I take alli, I get a dry cough and have quite a bit of mucus. Has anyone else had this problem?

AMBER: Its horrible even when u eat less fat i had accidents , will never take ALLI again.

Clover: BeFore i bought ALLI I read everything about it and so, i didn’t want any neg accidents, i was sure to follow all the rules to make it work and not be unpleasant. i still had some cramps & bloat, nothing, uh, messy thank god. took it for 3 months, and only lost 7 lbs! got fed up with the pills- the strict diet and exercize was probly doing it more than the pills. just not worth it.

RITA: Since Alli was the only thing i ever saw advertised for OTC weight loss i just got it & didn’t know, until i saw this blog, how many more natural options there is. i just didn’t like being on a stuff like this. i take a supplement wiht hoodia now & its better for me, i eat less with no issues.

Julie: I took ALLI basically as directed for 3 months. I lost 5 pounds. I was not wild about the results and decided to stop. I did not wean off slowly, but just simply stopped taking in one day. The following 5 days were horrible. Every time I ate something, I became extrememly bloated and my abdomen was painful to the touch. The sixth day the bloating stopped, but my abdomen was still tender. On the 7th night after not taking the medication, I was awakened in the night by a severe cramping pain in my upper right abdomen that radiated to my back and under my right shoulder/arm pit. I was awake for 3 hours with pain and no matter the position I layed in, the pain was relentless. In the morning when I got up, the pain subsided and I didn’t think anything more of it. The following 3 nights have been more of the same painful experience. It starts around 1:00am and keeps me awake until 3 or 4, then it subsides. I’ve looked up these symptoms and it points to pancreatitis or gall stones. I’m seeing my doctor in the morning. Has anyone else had this happen? What was the outcome? I’d appreciate your feedback.

Renee: I have not exercised once. I lost 4 lbs the first week, 2 the second week, only 1 lb the third week, and 4 this week. That may not sound great…but I have NOT been dieting. I wanted to see how well they worked alone. I am sold on this product!!!

robin: I started a 1200 calorie diet and used alli 3 times a day and lost 5 lbs. in 1 week. It definitely works if you do what they say.

sara flynn: Julie, that sure does sound scary..! i personally have not experienced gall stones or anything of the like with ALLI, but after i read your post i looked it up and saw that it had been reported by some people….yikes. For me i am not having big problems or anything, but I’m just having VERY slooow wieght loss. in fact, almost no weight loss at all. 2 lbs only in 3 wks.

Julie: Just an update to my last blog – I saw my doctor and had blood work and an abdominal CT scan done. I was already feeling better, but went ahead with the tests. The scan revealed no stones and the pancreatic blood work returned normal – so no serious medical issues – just a good scare. I’m feeling better, still tender abdomen, but no night pain for two nights. Mild abdominal bloating after eating. My doctor does not feel it is related to ALLI, but I’m not convinced and based on my dismal results with it, I’m not going to take it again – just some good old fashioned hard core dieting and exercise for this chubby mom. Sara, thank you for your reply and good luck to you on your weight loss adventure!

brenda: i have started the alli diet, and i still feel hungry most of the day,my question is.. do i need to/or can i take something else with the “alli” pills

Monica: Dietary aids are not a magic fix and shouldn’t be treated as such. It takes a combination of things, including effort to make it work. After first altering my diet to be more balanced, and then introducing Yoga & some cardiovascular exercies and seeing little results, I added Alli to my diet regimine. Within 3 weeks of adding Alli I’ve shed an additional 8 lbs. Prior to adding Alli I was only losing 1 lb every 2 weeks or so. I am quite pleased with Alli and as long as I stay at or below my daily fat intake I suffer no ill effects.

Disappointed: I only have 5 pounds of baby weight to lose and have been on a low fat diet for months. I actually think I gained weight even though I know that I am not eating any more. I feel like I am bloated all the time and holding water. No issues with BM’s though because I eat healthy. If you eat more than 15 grams of fat a meal, this is no panacea – you need to change your eating habits first to use Alli.

Jenny: I have to say, I have read the comments on here and this was after I had been taking Alli for 3 days and the negative comments almost talked me out of taking this. I have followed directions and actually took the tip of taking a double dose that is the script strength, I today on day 6 have lost 9lbs. I weigh 200lbs and am 5.6 inches tall. I am now down to 191. I have been eating a low fat diet and have been working out on an elliptical (sp) machine for 30minutes every other day. Cut out the fast food too. I am sticking w/ Alli and will update in a month. I honestly have to say if you follow the directions Alli will work for you.

Beulah: MAbey this is stil what i need, i am reading the blogs on Alli and was not convinced, sounds sorta frightening. I am thinking maybe, this is god tho, like i wil be scared into eating healthy? i can dell with slow weight loss as long as it comes off. i seen this on tv & & at the drug store, stil considering getting some.

randall: here’s the deal with ALLi, for me. after 2 days, no weihgt loss, just lots of bloating. in 5 days, more gas & bloating. on day 8, found that i was down one lb. On day 11, had a slight accident…luckily was a thome, no embarassment in public. think it was due to the hidden butter in a pasta sauce we had for dinner. next week, made extra careful attention to what was going down the hatch..lost 3 more lbs. still had gas. exercised even more duirng week 3, i was feeling lighter. after one month, only 5 lbs lost total. continued eating the same way the next month, lost 7 more lbs. (increased exercise the entire month, probly helped) month three, am continuing going it alone, and feeling fine. I think ALLI is nothing but a placebo for weight loss, with possible consequences that do no aid in weihgt lsos.

Gina: I really do not recommend Alli, because it doesn’t work I started the diet two months ago and I have not lost or gain weight. So, please do not waste your time into buying the supplement.

ybag: When I started Alli I didn’t see any results then I started eating smaller portions and going to the gym 3 times a week and I’ve already lost 13 lbs in less than 2 months. I haven’t had the side effects except when when I eat REALLY greasy food.

linda Vericchio: I felt that Alli was working WAY too slow, i don’t think int was enhancing my weight loss at all. I was dieting and walking for 30 minutes every day, and I lost about a pound a week, seomtimes 2. I ran out of Alli and couldn’t afford to buy the refill pack and you know what? I still kept losing weight at the same rate. So i figured, to heck with this. Since that time I’ve found a much more powerful pill, Slim 10, and the weight is coming off much more quickly.

Anonymous: Welcome to reality. One must work hard by eating healthy and getting active! Alli alone won’t help one little bit and there is no magic pill either. If you have decided to eat the right foods and exercise regularly than Alli may help you lose faster and that is what they advertise. I have lost 25 pounds by exercise and diet alone. Now I am going to keep eating healthy , exercise, and try ALLI on top of that and see if I lose a little more.

Heather: The point is that you HAVE to watch what you eat or you will have side effects. That is the whole point of dieting! The people that have given a thumbs down don’t seem to want to work at all to weight loss and think that there is a magic pill to make them slim. It doesn’t work that way. Alli is great because it forces you to think about what you’re eating, which is what we should all be doing without the pill. You will change your life with this pill if you truly want to.

jody: yeah, i totally agree that there’s no “Magic PIll” …DEFINITELY Alli isn’t magic, all you have to do is check out its low ratings on here to know that…Plus, there’s nothing magical about having an accident in your pants, right? I followed the Alli guidebook to a ‘T’ and i never had side effects, but nothing else happened either. this was a very ineffective diet pill, i think its mostly just to scare people. well me, i just take out my pre-baby swimsuit, and try it on, and that scares me enough. I have a 7-month old in my house going thru diapers like no tomorrow, I don’t want to be competing w/him for the Pampers. :)

Kali: also agree, the reality is alli alone won’t help at all, and in fact even by following the guideleines, i didn’t lose an ounce. i;m stil looking for a natural solution though, and also continuing to eat low fat & exercise regularly. i hope theres something that works better than alli did, without the fear of accidents.

Janice: I began taking Alli three months ago and have now lost over 60 pounds. I have done nothing different but just take the pill. I think this one is a winner!

nikki: I love this Alli diet pill even though it’s just a laxative basically and it has a gross side effect…but hey it works and teaches discipline!!…I am a college student and I go to work I really don’t have that much time to cook or anything so I rely on outside food..and then I started to take this and I loved it..I then also started to just eat salads from everywhere and started to take lean cuisine with me and wow..

Lori W: Boo for Alli. 6 months on the pills and only 7 lbs lost ;( I did everything right, according to the guideliens. Just didn’t work for me. I think I am going for slim 10 it has high ratings..

Diane, St. Paul: Picked up Alli at the drugstore one day, just hoping t lose those 10 stubborn pounds wiht it. Figured it was maybe the strongest thing in front me. Wel, I made sure to eat as they said I should so as to avoid the side effects and STILL, I had very bad gas/bloat/cramping. AND only lost 2 lbs in the month. Did not and will not, buy more, I don;t know how this is allowed on the shelves, quite frankly. Seems to do moreharm than good as far as I can tell.

Tammy: I started Alli 1/09 and to date 3/14/09 I have lost 22 lbs. initially I was confused because I was constipated like others have reported if your eating heatlhy this shouldn’t happen,in fact, it should be the exact opposite you go more regular. I believe my problem was that I was elimating a lot of greasy fried food but still eat low carbs, if you eat foods low in fat but no greens you will get constipated. Since I do not like greens at all, I drink a cleaning tea at night which makes me go the the bathroom by 10am the next day -almost cleaning out everything I ate the day before. This help rid the constipation but otherwise if I didn’t drink the tea I would have the same problem. Funny thing is if you eat something high in fat like greasy fried chicken/fries/burger etc you won’t have to worry about constipation your sure to pass it with stanky oily grease and a good bowel movement, but of course the game here it to eliminate greasy foods. It’s a killer everytime-trust me and it last for couple of days just based on 1 wrong meal! It’s definately an expensive motivator to eat right—-balanced meals. Although, I am at a stand still because I haven’t lost weight in 2 weeks but it’s not Alli’s fault it does it’s job when I eat poorly. The result orange oily spots in the comode. When I eat right with no greasy food then I have NO TREATMENT EFFECTS-bottom line if you don’t want “treatment effect” don’t eat greasy foods and stay with your specified fat gram intake per meal. I have a lot more weight to lose, I know I must incorporate exercise in order to acheive max. results-so I hope this hydrocharges my weight loss as long as I continue to know when to put the fork down-extreme portion control is a MUST!!!!

Steph H: I tried Alli for about a month the first time, and I had the side affects, it bugged me but I figured that I’d lose the weight. I lost about 3 lbs in the first week then it stopped. I didn’t lose another lb. So I tried it again about a year later. I started taking it, and I didn’t have any of the side effects this time, none at all, I didn’t lose any weight either, as a matter of fact, I started gaining. So, I stopped taking it. Since stopping, I’ve lost another 5 lbs, so I don’t recommend this product at all. I guess it depends on your body type, but for me, it didn’t work.

Anonymous: I used alli for 3 months. The product side-effects scared me into eating more healthy. I lost twenty pounds taking it and exercising. When I wuit taking it on a regular basis, I began to eat unhealthy food again and reduced my exercising. I regained the weight that I had lost in a matter of months. I also gained more. I am embarrassed and ashamed and disappointed that the weight did not stay off longer. bm

missclaudia: I wish I could get my money back. I spent 59 dollars on this stuff, alli Diet Pill and have been using it for 2 weeks, following the diet, which leaves me hungry all the time, and exercising alot. I havent lost a single pound. Now my hair is getting extremely dry, and I think I am going to stop taking them!!

maryap: I eat right and workout. I thought this would be a great boost for weight loss. WRONG! I was soo gassy and bloated i felt like my stomach was going to explode. i had to stop taking Alli . it took about 3 days for it to completely go away. it did keep me away from fatty food for fear of leakage.

nicole24: I just completed one month on the Alli program. I followed the program by taking 3 Alli pills a day, one at each meal. I also followed the instructions of consuming no more than 15g of fat per meal with the Alli pill. 15g of fat per meal is kind of a lot, so it was easy to stay well within the fat grams limit. In addition to taking Alli and cutting fat I also followed a 1500 calorie per day diet. I also exercised for 30 minutes a day on the ellyptical trainer. After a month of this program I lost 15 pounds. I did experience the “treatment effects” a couple of times while on Alli. It wasn’t too bad though. There would be a few orange oily spots in the toilet when I went number 2. This only happened a couple of times after I splurged on a fatty food like if I went out to eat or something. As long as I stayed under the 15g fat limit, I had no treatment effects. I think the treatment effects scare you away from fatty foods. Its a mental thing. I know that if I eat too much fat I’m going to pay for it later on the toilet! Overall, Alli worked for me. The thing is this… if I were doing the same diet without Alli, I would proably still have lost weight. I just don’t know if it would have been 15 punds. Basically to lose weight you just need to cut calories and fat. You also need to exercise. You can do it without Alli, but I feel Alli helped me.

Nancy: Alli is perfect for me. I’ve lost 13 pounds since the first of the year. THAT has been almost impossible for me to do without Alli. A few days of side effects but not much is you behave your self. I’m stay with it!

ann: i was so disappointed. I spent all this money on the pills & foods per the menus in back and never lost the first lb in 30 days. My hair & skin dried out dramatically so I had to stop taking it & gave the rest away. – alli diet pill

lori: my doctor suggested i try it. I have RA and Fybromyalgia the pounds were killing me. So i tried it and 1 was 185lb’s now i am 120. It was not over night but 3 months. I have kept it off to. Diets mean you eat right and lose the couch. thank you aili for the weight lose I don’t hurt as bad and i like me better. You have to help not just take the pill. you eat wrong and you will have the side effects even on the Biggest loser you have to work for it. It didn’t happen over night so you are what you eat!!!!!!!!!!

Don Thompson: I just have to say that Alli is the best laxative on the market…I have been constipated for what feels like an eternity and after only two days of taking Alli I have done nothing but sit on the toilet and leak my bowels. Unfortunately I cant leave the toilet due to the leakage so my family has had to bring my food and water to me. I heard it was a weight loss pill but after reading the side effects I determined that this product would better serve as a laxative. Thank you for all your help in curing my inpacted bowels. God Bless, Don

Amparo: Very disappointed. The pills are expensive. The price would be justified if the pills really worked. I ate healthy and exercised while taking alli. I still did not lose as much as I was expecting. In the meantime, the side effects got the best of me and I finally decided to stop. If you are looking for a pill that works, I am afraid to say you should continue looking. Good luck. – alli

julieanne: listen, I take it because it makes me “think” I am getting a boost. If you all NEED a diet pill I recommend excepting yourself and your extra pounds. YOU are the only thing that is going to take fat off your body. Good old eating right and moving your body. Otherwise, go eat a burger and enjoy it!!

fractalmind: - alliDietPill I really like this product and have lost 15 lbs in 3 months, with no other changes in life style. The side effects have changed my eating habits, and cut my appetite by 30%-50%. I boils down to: If I don

Tammy: I would NOT recommend Alli to anyone. It gives you the uncontrollable urge to make frequent bowl movements. The continual urge promotes straining which can tear the anus area. This is very uncomfortable, painful. and expensive to have it surgically repaired. This should be on the warning label!!!!! I normally eat healthy and was only trying to only loose 10 – 15 lbs.

K.B.: Ali is the first diet pill that has worked for me in years. I am a mother of two without alot of time to work out, but by watching what I eat and a little exercise I lost 17 pounds in 4 months and kept it of for going on two years now. The side effects only come when you continue to eat fatty foods so those who complain must not be sticking to the diet plan. Its not magic, you still have to work at it.

dianne: whats wrong woith you people!!!! your fat because of what you eat yeh im right because im there to, the pill is to stop you making bad fat choices its to get you to eat healthy,i have lost s2 stone on this alli pill by choosing wisely and i know i coudnt have done it without the alli pill, like before alli i went out to eat id go for fries with my steak and pudding afterwards.now its steak and salad no puddindg s.IT REALLY DOES WORK everyone thinking of taking alli you have to give it 100% it doesnt give you the ok sign to eat what you want,if you dont want to avoid the toilet STAY OF THE FAT.i have just one more stone to go i just carnt thank alli enough for getting me to eat and choose wisely

Jessica Blake: I do not think alli works at all. I think my mindful eating and consistent exercise has everything to do with my recent weight loss. When I take the alli, I feel bloated and nauseous. And let me give you a little tip, if you think you need to “pass gas” make sure you’re on the toilet! I thought these were far-fetched stories, but they are true!! The oily discharge ruined a pair of my pants and felt like an oil slick all over my legs. I needed to use dish soap to get the grease and smell off my skin. I do not overindulge in fatty foods. I am not very over weight. The leaking happen whether you eat well or not. It’s so not worth it! Take off the lbs the old fashioned way! – alliDietPill

Tom: I love it! I’ve lost 37 lbs now.

Lenny: Sorry you all have such a bad experience with Alli. I started making better food choices for a week than started Alli. I have had no problems and have dropped 3 pounds in a week. I believe a lot of you are using Alli as a Magic Pill and eat an extreme amount of fat to have the issues you are having.

Debbie: I have been on alli now for 1 year i havent had the treatment affects at all. and with excrise and alli 3 times a day i have lost 72 pounds and i feel great. i want to lose 25 more pounds and alli is great for me so just stick to your plan and excrise and no diet drinks just water and unsweet tea that all .thanks

EP: WOW!!!this is a horrible weight lost pill. I won’t recommend it at all!!! the side effects.. I stopped the pill 3 days ago and I’m still having the side effects. Be carefull ! – alli Diet Pill

Shawn: Just reading all these post makes me wanna poo…get off your lazy butts and do some exercises! Alli will only work if you adjust your diet and actually exercise….you eat em you need to burn em….I’m talking calories people….

Terri: Thank you Alli!!! I have lost 35lbs with the HELP of Alli. For those who gave a negative review I just want to say Alli is not meant to lose the weight for you. It will help re-enforce what you already know you should be eating. If you eat fatty unhealthy foods it will let you know with its side effects, but if you are eating and exercising as you should, it will give you the extra incentive you need. I have told many people about Alli and what it’s done for me. I couldn’t be happier!!!

shanika: I WORK WITH A DOCTOR THAT IS TAKING ALLI AND SHE SAYS YOU HAVE TO TAKE TWO AT A TIME IF ONE AT A TIME DOESN’T WORK FOR YOU. I WANT TO TRY IT AFTER SEEING HER LOSE A 100LBS TAKING IT AND SHE’S A WEIGHT MANAGEMENT DOCTOR

Laura: I have just finished my 1st week on Alli. I stuck to a low fat diet(as I did not want side effects), exercised more and had no adverse side effect atal.Best of all I lost 8pounds!!!I also feel that their suggested healthy eating plan is educating me on fat content of food. I’ll continue and hopefully lose lots more weight.

maggie: started taking alli 5 days ago and s.f.s.g have lost ten pounds.whether this is the pill or the fact that i am afraid to eat any chocolate(used to eat 2 to 3 bars a day) remains to be seen, but it has opened my eyes, before i just counted calories, now i count fat 2

Alex: I took Alli for 6 months and lost 38 pounds I went from 216 to 178. Before talking Alli I was was not exercising and only ate fast food I did a 360 and stopped eating fast food and started exercising everyday and I did the Alli diet program. As soon as I stopped talking Alli I gained 15 pounds even with exercising everyday. I kept the weight off for about a year then I stopped Dieting and exercising and gained all my weight back. Im now trying to lose the weight again without Alli by just dieting and exercise and have not lost any weight. While I was talking Alli I didn’t have any problems with side effects because I stayed on the Diet but one time I had a meat-loaf diner at a friends house and the next day I was climbing the stairs to my apartment and all the grease, oil, and fat just came out.

Emmy: That’s just it, with Alli, any little slip up, or slight indulgence, your gonna pay for big time! Its not just a matter of, say, making up for it the next day by eating less or working out more, as Alex said, you just never know when the “treatment effects” might occur! aNd for me, I really tried to be conscience, but sometimes, the problems would be triggered by just a slight change, that I didn’t expect. Anyway, I got fed up trying to make the pills work for me, switched to a natural pourduct. What I take now, is the Slim shot diet drinks, they’re awesome. Tastes good, natural, and I’m losing, 16 lbs so far, in only 3 weeks!

latkins: Used Alli off and on for a little over a year for weight control… now have autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis of the liver.. drs. don’t “think” it’s connected but these are terrible diseases and funny I never has a problem before Alli.

meduenas: I have been taking alli since Nov 2008 & have lost 25lbs on it.I got off of it because I plateaued on it but I’m back on it & steadily losing weight on it again.I became constipated the first time I cycled on it & it went away after the 1st week.Like any diet if u lose the weight 2 fast it will come back fast.So steady is the game. And yes the side effects are a lesson to be learned. If you eat the low fat low cal diet, any fat you do eat will be blocked but u won’t be starving the flavor out of your food by making it completely dry,if u weren’t taking the alli pill.So I definitely think alli works.

andrea carper: I love the pill Alli, i think others don’t know whaTt they are talking about, if you follow the instructions and don’t cheat!!…than you won’t have problems, i have to admit i have cheated from time to time, but just know that you’ll pay later for that.i started Alli in aug of 08 and i was a size 14, i am a hard core lover of exersise and i ate pretty healthy but still couldn’t get down to what i wanted to be, now happy to say it’s may and i am a size 8! and my goal is to be a size 6 like i was in high school for the up coming beach vacation my husband and kids and i are going to be doing.it works and if you do get some of those side affects it says in the book that they usually go away in 2 weeks.also i cannot stress enough, you must exersise and eat right also, the pill alone doesn’t cure you. my name is andrea and i am 26 and Alli does work!!

Gene F.: Face the facts, there is no magic pill for losing weight, Alli is exactly the help I needed to get my eating on track so the weight would come off. If anyone buys this product with expectation of waking up one day to discover 50lbs of over eating now gone, this product isn’t for you. If you are looking for a product that reminds you what low fat eating is all about, while giving a consequence for eating the wrong foods, this product is perfect for you. With regards to side effects, they were only present on day two and three and I then quickly had to adjust my fat intake to bring it in line with Alli. I have been on Alli for three weeks and the weight is coming and I have never been more aware of my fat intake of the past, then now. Respect Alli, it does work.

Meghan: I took Alli for 3 months and exercised and changed my eating habits and didn’t lose a pound. Very disappointed.

Ron: I think this is a decent product over all. Yes there are loose stool problems. If you’re older this may not be a good option for you. This is a diet supplement that unfortunately is advertised a little too heavily on the “weight loss” aspect. Just like with any diet you NEED to exercise. You NEED to stick to a diet plan. This pill does not magically make it so that you can eat a couple big macs and a diet coke without guilt or worry. If you’re having “accidents” at the gym maybe you should stop eating out. I know what my issues are with weight loss. Soda and laziness. I stopped drinking diet soda and lost 6 lbs in a week. People need to stop blaming the product and start looking within. You are the only one holding yourself back. (with the exception of those with chronic medical conditions or genetic obesity of course) Plain and simple stop being lazy, stop blaming the latest product because it didn’t make you drop to your teen age size within a month. This product is another way to help you monitor what you are eating and to help you become more responsible for your diet. It’s not the sole purpose of just shedding all the fat you intake. Take responsibility for your weight before it controls you.

Heather: I am so glad I stumbled upon this blog, I was all set to go out today and buy my first bottle of alli! I didn’t realize that some people experienced side effects even if they did follow the plan exactly. So what I’ve gathered from all of these comments is that I will be out $50, have uncontrollable stools (one person called it “greasy feces” lol!) and not lose any weight. I think I will just try to follow the alli diet plan minus the alli! I mean if you exercize and eat lowfat you’re going to lose weight anyways so who’s to say it works at all, even for thiose who did lose weight?

caligril_123: hey I’m not (jk) this product is the best in the word I been tried everything to loose weight but nothing but nothing at all works but my sis-in.. bought me this product Alli and let me tell u everything with only one thing this is 3wao

Angela Kornegay: I am sorry to hear that so many people have had bad side-effects on ALLI. I have not. I have been on ALLI for almost 7 months and have lost 75 pounds. I lost quick at first and the weight loss has slowed resently. I need to add more exercise to push me over the hump. Exercise is my downfall. I would recommend ALLI to anyone serious about weight loss. Be warned….read the diet plan and follow the diet to avoid those nasty side effects. The side effects are naturally worse when you begin the diet. I can now go out for a high fat restaurant meal, once in a while, and suffer little side effects. I end up a little more gassy and my stools are softer, but nothing dramatic at all. It gets better with time. I am considering adding a appetite surpressant because when I exercise more I get hungier, but I am afaid to take suppliments because of the risk of liver problems. You can not be too sure when it comes to those hyped up suppliments. P.S. Alli has no side effects on your liver and my doctor supports me being on it. Dont give up and follow the plan for best results.

Abi: I have used this product for a week and have lost 7lb! If you are willing to stick to a low fat diet they are perfectly fine. I’ve had no nasty side effects – unless you consider weight loss a side effect!

Kay M: What people DONT realize is this is not a miracle pill..You have to get up off your butts and still be active..All this pill does is HELP YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT FOODS, so you dont have an accident..It is an AIDE not a cure to being lazy and overwieght. It is similar to that NO BOOZE pill alcholics can take. When they drink the pill makes them violently sick to stomach…So in turn they wont drink..Same concepty with ALLI. Take the pill and it MAKES y ou watch what you eat so you dont poop yourself in public. So stop complaining it doesnt work. There is no sit on butt eat all the junk you want and do nothing pill!!!!!

sweetlady: I started Alli about 3 weeks ago. At first I had no weight loss, but I am sure that it was because I wasn’t taking it consistently. By that I mean that on the weekends, I would eat a lot of fast food and not take Alli. I started looking at the fat content in fast food, and boy did I get an education!!!Even some supposedly healthy things like salads have a lot of fat.It sure was eye opening. This last week, I have stuck by the plan and have lost 6 pounds.Only once have I had a treatment effect, and that was because I erroneously believed that roast beef at Arby’s wasn’t THAT full of fat. I check everything now. I have eaten steak and pork chops(at home) with no problems. So, I think that one of the keys to success is knowledge of EXACTLY what you are putting in your mouth and being honest about how much you are eating. As far as the effects are concerned, I am not fearful of them, but motivated to avoid them by eating correctly. Great behavior modification for me. I guess I finally realized that there is no magic pill to lose weight, but I have to do it myself. Yes, it is work, having to be a lot more aware of what I am eating, but in the long run, I will be healthier for it. I spent way too much time wishing for a quick, magical, and easy remedy for my excess weight. Now I know that it is all in my own hands, and with a little bit of help from Alli, I can accomplish my goals.

Lisa: Take these properly and they are amazing. I know that if I don’t eat right I will suffer the side effects so I am automatically motivated to eat well and low fat. That low fat diet becomes even lower by taking Alli. I have dropped 2 dress sizes in 3 months and I am notoriously a slow weight loser and a fast gainer so I am convinced I would not have achieved such great results without Alli. I feel great, look great and am delighted with these tablets

RedFlamingo: My doctor gave me a kit of Alli. I had been thinking about trying it. The first day went ok. I took a pill at noon and one at supper. The next morning when I took the third pill my stomach felt like it was exploding and on fire. Needless to say I haven’t taken any more Alli and would not recommend it to anyone!!!!!

marie: I have already lost 6 pounds and it has only been two weeks.

Tonya in Katy, TX: I’m floored by the comments stating that Alli takes too long…It didn’t take you 2 weeks to gain all of that weight so why do you think you can get rid of it that quickly????

Maddy: i work in a hospital. one of my patients took alli for about 11 months and had lost aobut 50 pounds, her diabetes was under control she was just very pleased with the results. the only problem, and reason why she was in the hospital, was that she developed gall-stone, and had to have them removed, and missed a very important vacation trip. now, if you loose a considerable amount of weight in a short period of time, this can happen to anyone. for example, those who have the lap band surgery or gastric bypass. i know because ive considered those surgeries. the way i see it, you HAVE TO DIET AND EXERCISE, and be cautious of what u eat and PATIENT! too if you want to see results.

kim: this product is not worth a penny of your money.

Jackie: I didn’t lose a thing on this and it made my stomach ache and yes I did experience some leakage – yuck!!

Holly: I’ve been taking Alli for 2wks now and i haven’t has any side affects! You have to remember to follow you’re plan if you eat a mean with a lot of fat ..uhh yea you’re gonna have side affects! But so far I think its awesome my first week I lost 4pds!So, as for me I’m still gonna stay on the plan!!

cha-cha: I believe Alli works for most people if they follow the plan. However, it is not worth the money to me because you don’t lose that much more weight than you would if you weren’t taking it. If you are already eating low fat, why take alli? It messed my stomach up too much. I do just as well without it. Eat less, eat healthier, and exercise. There is no magic miracle drug!

Nancy RI: I have been taking alli for 5 months and have lost 69 pounds, to date. I did however have negative effects in the beginning couple of weeks, until I found the right amount of fat to eat for meals. It was worth the wait, and I could not be happier.

Disapointed in Alli: I started the alli diet on july 2nd, 2009, i was all amped & happy to think it was going to help me loose that excess weight that i have been hard to get ride of, that diet an exercise could not get rid of alone. at first i was feeling fine, after a few days by 07/07/2009 i was in sever pain, abdominal pain, sweats, an slight diarea. soon i was having a hard time working, and i noticed a rash under my left side breast an then it atarted to spread to my left side an then my back with in only a few days. so i went to the doctor to have it checked out. i was feeling scared an in a panic, the doctor looked at it an said it was herpis..i was like WTF?? the doctor said alli has striped my amune system down an everyone has this virus inside them but alli had made it come out….so the doctor subscribed me VALTREX to take…the doc never ran tests to prove this so im still a bit confused on this side effect… I read on the alli website that it has severe reactions like this but it has totally freaked me out. now its 07/15/2009 im off the valtrex an the rash is slowly fading away but they have turned to scabs.. id like to know what other people have had the same problems like i have or is this just a one in a million?? anyone input would be greatly appreciated on this…

Amanda: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. You must pair it with a low fat diet. Be realistic. You cannot go out and get a greasy cheeseburger and fries, pop an Alli, and expect it to do all the work! You will not lose weight that way…plus you will ruin your pants with it’s side effects. Why take it if you are not going to commit to a diet? And get off your fanny and exercise. It’s called Alli for a reason…it is your “ALLY” in the fight to lose weight…not some miracle pill that will give you a six pack by popping one before a fatty meal.

Anonymous: I lost almost 4 pounds my first week, if you are experiencing side effects, it’s usually bc u are not taking the medicine properly…it’s not a quick fix, but if you choose to make a lifestyle, it’s an added boost…I know friends thst think they can eat pizza or fast food and take a pill and it’s ok, well of course you will have side effects, the pill is blocking fat from being absorbed, so it has to go somewhere….

dsb: I am amazed at the low ratings given to Alli. This is a great supplement. The pill works by blocking some of the fat that is put into your body. For those following a low calorie diet, this will help rid an extra 200+ fat calories per day. While it is not a miracle cure, it will aid in dieting. In two weeks, I have followed the plan, suffered no effects, and lost a total of 10 pounds. It is not a miracle, but a lifestyle change. Watch what you eat, and the drug is more effective than just diet alone. I have 15 more pound to go, and with Alli I am positive I can do it.

Kristie: Some of the posts on here are pretty ridiculous. Alli never claimed to help you lose weight while you ate what you wanted and didn’t exercise. There is no such thing as a miracle diet pill, and if you were eating a healthy diet you most likely wouldn’t have weight problems to begin with. I have been on Alli for a week. I have followed the reccomended guidelines for fat and calories and have not had any treatment affects. It says flat out in the information that you get with the starter pack that if you eat too much fat you will have treatment affects. People are really ridiculous.

melissa: I took Alli along with healthy diet and exercise, which they say is pretty much the only way that it works. i did not have treatment effect’s bcs i followed a low fat diet. I stayed on the alli until i wised up and realised it was my hard work of dieting that was making me loose the weight not this pill. they say to take this pill and alos go on a diet and exercise. and so when you get the results that you have earned, they say it was their pil that did it. Nice. once i figured that one out i dropped he Alli and u know what? i kept losing weihgt just the same. In a way, i will say that Alli empowered me, bcs it helped me realize what i could do. But then after i learned that, there was def. no need to keep paying for the pill.

Coatbridge: I used Alli and lost a little weight in the first week, although don’t know if it was alli or because I cut back in fat and carry out food. it stops working very quickly as I now have problems going to the toilet and have been left with very painfull piles.

Thomas H: I used Alli and was very pleased with the results I achieved. I lost 33 lbs. in 3 months and 4 inches off my waist. On a couple of occasion I did have loose stools, but I used this as a learning tool as what not to eat. If you avoid foods with a high fat content you will without a doubt loose weight with this product. Because Alli prevents the absorbation of fats and this is why you see the fat in your stools. So you people who complain about the product need to get a grip on yourself and stop expecting to lose weight without making some sacrifices. I will forever sing the praises of this product. This product is safe and effective. Amen!

Claire: I have only starting usin alli in the last 2 weeks but have seen a massive difference, eating right is the key and it really is worth the money!

patty: I HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS WITH ALLI.IN LESS THAN 2 MONTHS I HAVE LOST ABOUT 25 POUNDS.WHEN I STARTED WITH ALLI I WENT ON THE ADKINS DIET AND AFTER A MONTH I WENT ON THE FIT FOR LIFE(WHICH IS PROPER FOOD COMBINING)AND I AM PLEASED WITH MY RESULTS.NO DIET PILL WILL DO IT ALL FOR YOU.YOU MUST EAT HEALTY AND EXERCISE.I HAVEN’T DONE THE EXERCISE AS WELL AS I SHOULD HAVE BUT I AM GOING TO DO BETTER AT THAT.I HAVE BOUGHT A REBOUNDER SO THIS SHOULD HELP.NO MORE EXCUSES.ABOUT A YEAR AGO I WENT ON ALLI BUT I HATE BADLY AND OFCOUSRE IT DIDN’T WORK,BUT GOING ON A HEALTHY DIET MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE.MY BP WENT FROM 200/94 TO 130/69.I’M 5′4′ AND I’VE WENT FROM 195 TO 170 AND PLAN TO LOSE ANOTHER 20 POUNDS AND MAINTAIN IT.

queenbee: This is my second time in a year on the pills and they work great. They do REQUIRE discipline. The first time I tried them I was miserable. I didnt utilize myalli.com and I tried to use them with an off the shelf book, which put me into MEAN low low fat phases. This time my husband I did it the right way. I use myalli.com and I prepare all of our meals..some of them from alli and others from WW. It has been almost 3 weeks and I have lost 10pounds and my husband is close to 18pounds. We have not had any side effects as we monitor our fat intake. The pills can work when you follow the guidelines. They help you stay focused and watch what you put in your mouth… once were done with this starter pack then we will go back on ww for a long term plan.. Oh look for coupons.. I only paid $24 dollars for 90 cap starter pack

Sondra: I have had great success with Alli diet pills. I follow the menus listed in the book for the calorie intake I want per day and I have not problems with treatment effects or anything. I do walk everyday. I lost 48 pounds in 4 months and plan to lose about 20 more. I highly recommend this product if used appropiately.

Ricinde: what a grat idea, i’ve been taking alli for a few weeks and eating low fat! i had a laps yesterday, you would not belive how much fat is in a double whopper and cheese… and payed the “price”!!! i WILL now stick to a low fat diet as i have no intention of a repeat “incident”!!!

Donna: I am 57 and had been unable to lose weight for 10 years. I have taken Alli for 14 months and have lost 13 pounds. I have experienced some loose stools and gas on occassion, but those issues are well worth losing the weight and a dress size. I feel so much better about myself and I am eating much healthier. If you don’t want severe side affects, follow the plan and eat the correct foods.

Annie: I agree with Donna totally! Same sort of age and experience, but I’ve lost 10 pounds in 10 weeks, which is a pretty good result in my opinion. The only gastric distress tends to follow meals out; I can’t control what they use in the preparation of the food in a restaurant. But at home, as long as you don’t use butter and oils, or lots of sugary stuff, this may be a good product for you. I’m pleased as can be with my result so far!

patty: My husband takes a prescription drug that helps his body produce the very pancreatic enzyme that this drug inhibits. Doesn’t this diet product pose potential risks for developing pancreatic disorders? The pancreas is the organ that regulates digestion in the human body. When the balance is altered, how does the body compensate? I question any diet product that alters or impinges on normal digestive processes. Once out of balance, serious and damaging health problems can result.

Nik: I used Alli for 2 months, lost 15 LBS so I got a RX for XENICAL from doctor. XENICAL is the RX only version of Alli. When I first started with this doctor he did all my blood work etc…THE WORKS, he continued to do so each year. After taking the Alli my liver function was way out of wack but did not relate the two! THEN THE NEXT 6 MONTH CHECK UP MY L*VER IS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE!!! I STOPPED XENICAL ASAP! I HAD A CAT SCAN OF MY L*VER AND MUST HAVE ULTRA SOUNDS AND BLOOD WORK EVERY 6 MONTHS NOW! I JUST HEARD ABOUT OTHERS MAKING THE SAME CLAIM. MY DOCTOR IS VERY CONCERNED, THIS IS SERIOUS!! DO NOT TAKE THIS!

James: This is the biggest get rich quick scamm by a large manufacturer in history. I have been on xenical for more then five years, which is the presription version of non-prescript alli. The big difference in loss is your pocketbook. Alli is 50% less doseage at three times the price. Get a prescription from your Doctor and save a fortune. The product does work better than anything else out there. However, Alli is a rip-off.

allen: I started alli a couple months ago, and i really didn’t mind the side effects, after all they meant it was working… but now 3 months or so later, all the side effects are gone, and im wondering if it does me any good anymore at all. I’m gonna finish off this bottle but then i might look for something else, or at least do more research

Daniel: Wynona Judd was the spokesmodel for Alli and made one commercial for them, they only shoot video of her head and shoulders. When she made an appearance on the Country Music Awards it was obvious that she wasn’t losing any weight, and this would undermine the credibility of Alli,so they pulled all her commercials off the air.

Daniel in CO: If people using Alli say they get the best results with exercise changing their eating habits, maybe exercise and low carbs alone will help without Alli? Read more about low-fat and low-carb diets.Take note, their are good fats and fat-soluble nutrients you may not be able to eat while using Alli.

Janice: I have been taking Alli for 6 weeks now and I have lost 6 lbs. Personally I think Alli is the greatest thing to come along! Alli has made me rethink about how and what I eat. I will continue to use Alli until I lose the 25 pounds that I need to lose.

Annie: I am happy with this product. I am not suffering side effects because I am not consuming more fat than I am supposed to. I have tried all kinds of diets and diet pills and I have come to the conclusion there is no fast, easy fix. I know I will have to eat a low fat diet and count calories for the rest of my life if I want to lose weight and keep it off. I am good with that. Alli is helping. I am losing and the encouragement is great! This is a very good program if you are willing to follow it and if you are not lazy!

Darlene: I checked with my Dr. & he said to follow instructions & diet. I did this. 74 years old I took My Alli, following directions. Not once had any problems. Lost a total of 43 lbs.in 5 months. Now 5 months later still have not gained one pound & no longer take My Alli. Feel great, more energy & for me really worked. Thought I was too old to lose, My Alli showed me I could lose. My Dr. is very pleased with my end result & I certainly enjoy the benefits of being healthy & back in a size 6.

chris: I’v just started South Beach and wonder is Alli might not work with this style of eating. I stared Alli yesterday and have not had problems but I do feel bloated….which I shouldn’t. Anyone want to give me a heads up??

Tomi: Wow, have to say I am surprised by all the negative comments above. I have been taking Alli for 2 weeks now. I do not want any of the ill “side effects”, so by taking Alli it has made me more conscious of what I am eating so that I will not get those negative side effects. I would not have the will power to avoid such foods without taking Alli. I have also added exercise to my routine, and am happy to say I have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I will continue taking Alli as it helps me make better dieting decisions.

JA: Alli gave me severe p*ins on my left side..so much so that I could not sleep …I wasted $50 ..best bet limit my intake…there is no magic pill…

carolann: You have to change your diet…Alli claims to aid in weight loss not to do it all for you. Nothing worth doing is ever easy! I love it

Megan: I have been taking Alli for one week in conjunction with a healthy diet, exercise, etc. to make sure I’m not ingesting any more fat than necessary while achieving my target weight. I am amused at all the comments that illude to some magic pill to buuuurrrnnn those lbs off immediately. HAHA People you will fail if you are looking for a quick fix or have a “dieters” mindset. You must change your bad habits for life! I’ll continue to take it in combination with more healthy eating habits and lifestyle and so far I feel just fine taking it. No bloating, no “treatment effects”, no measuring -just simply being more conscience of my choices is all.

Kelly: All these negative comments about alli… I have been taking alli for a month and a 1/2 now followed by the 1600 calorie diet and 19 fat grams per meal and treadmill for 30 mins a day… I have not had the first accident with my bowels and I have lost 21 pounds! I think people are just taking the pill and eating the same fatty foods they are used to eating expecting the alli to just make them skinny… get real people stop lieing to yourself put the cheeseburger down…. I praise alli… I am sure the diet and excersie is what is helping me the most but the information and the alli websites is what has giving me the motivation to sticking with my alli plan…

Kimber: This pill is amazing! It helped me lose 20 lbs in one month the first time that I had taken it. You have to be really watching what you eat however or you will suffer from side effects. You may think.. I’ll skip a dosage and have a cheeseburger.. but in reality the alli works all the time once you get on a regimem. I am trying it again for a second time to lose another 20. The first time i paired it with eating Healthy Choice meals since they are ideal in calories and fat grams. Try it.. and you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t eat too much fat or you will have much embarrassment.

Caryn: Just finished my first week and lost 7lbs. No treatment effect problems at all! Stick to the low fat and low calorie diet and you can be successful too!

Wende: I have always had trouble losing weight, I have tried almost every product out there and have had no luck at all. I bought the Alli product almost 2 weeks ago and have been watching what I eat, I haven’t really exercised other than working around the house and I have lost 11 pounds already! I haven’t seen any of the side effects as far as stomach problems but maybe it’s because I am trying to eat healthy while on it, I will keep taking it, it seem to be the only thing that has worked for me, I’m really happy with Alli!!!

Krista: I started Alli about 2 weeks ago, and I feel much leaner already..and people are noticing and clothes are fitting better! I just bought my first spring dress in years! I work out a small bit too, nothing is a magic pill, this just help eliminate excess fat. If you use it with fatty meals all the time, then you arent’t learning anyhting anyways and will never keep it off. I am looking at it like a good jump start for motivation when I want to be done with them and help me get even more active. I am 5′5” and 166 now so even small amounts of loss really show and I love it. Worth a shot to those who want that helpfull jumpstart!!!

pat: does alli stop working at some point? Seem like it did for me. How do I get it to start working again?

Tinaben: I actually lost 30 lbs within 4 months using Alli. I think most people have the misconception that since it’s a diet pill they don’t have to work at losing weight. Well guess what? You DO have to work at losing weight. As for accidents, they only happen when you eat fatty foods, which you aren’t supposed to do.

raf: alli is disgusting

Britt: Ok..All I am hearing from everyone is EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES!! “They side effects are gross”, “I can’t be on a restricted diet” Blah Blah Blah. Guess what?!? Diets are NOT pretty. If you want to lose weight, you HAVE to put the effort into it! Alli is a CLINICALLY proven weight loss AID that blocks the absorbtion of some of your fat intake. Where is that fat going to go? DUH! It has to get out somehow! If you eat little to NO fat in your food, you won’t have side effects. Also, it is an AID. You can’t take JUST Alli and expect to LOSE 20 pounds ina month. You have to do the WORK people! My advice, ALLI has worked for me and many others. Grow a pair, suck it up and stick to it! Trust me, you will be happy you did!

mac: It was working but I stopped once I heard about the possible liv*r problems.

sheena martin: no thank you, I think i will not take this pill after what im reading. Iknow they say juge for self, i dont think im up for it

M R Putnige: I had nasty le*ks when taking ALLI, I will no be taking it again

bazhulk: I have taken orlistat for 4 weeks and lost 1kg,I feel like my *ss is going to b*rst. It has put me of eating so I guess that will help with the weight loss. Not sure it is all it says it is.

Anonymous: This drug is great if you like wet f*rts… I have binned about a dozen pairs of pants and I am now terrified to f*rt unless hunkerd over the lavvy pan.Buyer beware…bewaring a nappy!!

mt: I have been using this product for a year. I don’t have much time to myself so I thought this would help. I even joined the Alli club this is not helping at all. I was hoping with my age working against me this would help, it let me down.

jamie: I lost 7 pounds in like 2 weeks.. Alli is to teach you to eat right and not eat fatty fried foods like french fries or else youll have side effects…its the best thing out there if you serious and not trying to find something magical… you need to work for what you want… but alli def makes you think about what to eat.. the only think that i hated was you cant drink alcohol or else you get really really bad hangovers and sick….

Bernadette B: I lost thirty pounds with Alli and kept it off for over a year. Gained back a few pounds, but went back on the program and lost what I gained quickly. You have to stick to the program it is for serious dieters. If you cheat your going to pay and that is what keeps me in line and living a healthier way of life. You have to excercise and eat well in order for this product to work correctly.

norahsheart: At 53 I look and feel better than I have in many years. alli helped me lose 20 lbs and my son 22 in college lost 50. I only exercise 10 min am and pm with weights and Ive toned up and look pretty good in my swim suite. Been taking Alli for a year off and on. Mostly during the winter when activity is low. But now I cant seem to find it any where in a three county radius. does any one know whats up with that? (NC)

Alli Diet Pill

Supplements that are intended to reduce the amount of fat that is absorbed by the body appear to be growing in popularity today, if only for those who happen to be curious and wish to find out more about this approach to weight management. A product called alli Diet Pill, for example, is advertised as being capable of supporting weight loss goals by lowering the amount of fat that is absorbed by the body by up to 25 percent. It seems the product may be purchased locally or online.

 Ingredients
At the core of the formula is an ingredient called Orlistat, which appears to be sold over the counter in the U.S. but which may be available in prescription drug form elsewhere. This substance is supposed to lower the rate at which the body absorbs dietary fats from the foods we eat. According to web based sources, alli Diet Pill should be taken with a reduced calorie diet and along with a balanced health and wellness program.

 Qualities
Intended to be used by women and men of age 18 or over, the supplement should be taken three times daily with meals that have fat content. The makers of alli Diet Pills state that dieters should not exceed the recommended dosage, and that it is important to eat right and exercise while on this plan. The formula may play a role in regulating the production of certain digestive enzymes, according to some sources, reducing the amount of fat that is absorbed by the body.

 Price
A starter pack that includes 60 capsules may be purchased from some web based retailers for around $44.99, though the product has a suggested retail price of around $49.99 at this time. Some retailers appear to offer discounts on volume purchases, as well as a money back offer. Some consumers may like the fact that the supplement may be available for sale online and at some local retailers today.

 Final Facts
Even though the alli Diet Pill is intended to reduce the amount of fat that our bodies absorb, they should not be thought of as a way to cheat, or as an easy way out. The makers of the supplement stress that it is crucial to eat right and exercise, as well as to take a multivitamin every day so that our bodies are able to absorb essential nutrients. More information on the product can be found on some diet and fitness rating sites, which provide user submitted ratings, scores and votes.
