Theresa: Tenuate worked for the first few weeks, but then STOPPED WORKING altogether. I felt like i was just starting to get going on my weight loss, and then it just came to a screeching halt! i did some more reading about it, and they do say “Tenuate will lose its effectiveness within a few weeks.” !!!!?!?!? So what is the point?? I had 80 lbs to loose, that wasn’t going to happen in a few weeks. I;m angry and disappointed.

AnnaFalco: oh I do love to eat. It’s just how I was raised. When I came home from school my mother had pie or cookies. When I was sick she made me chicken soup and lasagna. Every Sunday we ate all day with my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Now that I am on my own in a new city I continue those traditions to comfort myself. Only with my new job and everything I don’t have time to swim everyday like I used to and I don’t have anyone telling me if I’ve gained a little. I found Tenuate and it seemed like a grown up pill. Women have to take amphetamines to stay slim I thought. That was the secret. Not moderation. Not willpower. I got myself so mixed up and I was taking so many pills and I really made myself very sick. Finally an acquaintance at work asked me how I was feeling and the tears just poured out of me. She told me to go home. I spent 2 weeks with my mom talking and learning how to cook healthy meals for myself. I feel that my new approach is going to be much more healthy. And she told me that if I needed it, from time to time there are herbs that will curb your appetite and provide you with good energy naturally. She always knows best. I just wanted to warn other women like me so you won’t make the same mistakes and potentially really harm yourselves.

Kaylin: This was good for me at first, I thought, because I felt like I had more energy when i took Tenuate. I was more active, alert and felt pretty good. But soon after I began taking it, I realized I was just sort of jumpy & was not actually focusing as well, for all the energy I thought I had. Plus, it was taking 2-3 hours for me to fall asleep at night. This was not a good experience overall, not somethign I would recommend to anyone, ever.

Lisa: Ugh! Tenuate is how diet pills get a bad rap. This stuff is awful! Not only doesn’t it work the way it’s supposed to, it makes you feel like you might just about die…for a few hours at least, until the pill starts to wear off. I may be overweight, some might even go so far as to say fat, but this is not for me. I want to live through my weight loss!!!!

diane: Tenuate caused all sorts of weird unpleasant side effects for me, insomnia, depression, anxiety etc. I even felt like i was kind of hooked on it for a while. It was bad news, and it didn’t even cause me to loose weight.

Margaret: Even being aware of all the possible side effects before taking Tenuate did not prepare me for the lethargy I felt while I was on it. I lost a few pounds but felt so awful, so tired, I never wanted to do anything so it just wasn’t worth it. Sorry to say I had to give up on this, I;d like to find somethign that does not have those type of debilitating side effects.

Ashley: I think Tenuate might be helping me lose some of this left over baby fat. It’s sure simple enough to use, and I think I’m beginning to see a difference. I’ve only been taking it for a couple of weeks, and maybe that’s quite not long enough to give it a fair shake, but I’m going to give it some more time, just to make sure that’s it’s doing what I think it is…

Juanita: When I was taking Tenuate I had no appetite. None. I had to force myself to eat. I lose weight really fast. Then when I ran out I figured my metabolism had probably adjusted so I started eating again and man, if was great. I ended up consuming probably 3500 calories every day. I hadn’t realized I had felt so deprived. It was like I was filling a hole in my soul with food. It was good to be full. Well, six months more or less of that behavior and I am not just overweight. I am fat. Bordering on obese. I know that losing and gaining so rapidly is unhealthy but I really want to get back to a size 6. (not the 2 I was on Tenuate). I would love it and be grateful forever if someone would recommend a natural alternative. I just apparently don’t know what’s right and I don’t trust my instincts right now. I need help.

Talie: Hi I began getting cramps in my third day of using Tenuate & am wondering if this will go away. thanks.

helen: This Tenuate was too much of an amphetamine for me. It caused such a rapid heartbeat and palpitations which frightened me because my father died of heart disease. I also have high blood pressure and my doctor told me at my last visit that my blood pressure had reached “alarming” levels. Basically, she said i needed to discontinue the tenuate immediately.

Jessica: So far I have lost 3 lbs on Tenuate, in 4 weeks. I know that it could cause more harm the longer I take this, but I am seeing some progress. Is it worth it to continue for longer, has anyone had greater success the second month?

Sara: Tenuate? Why oh why did I ever take this? I swear, I thought I wasn’t going to make it through a couple of days of this stuff. It hit me really fast, I thought my heart would come right out of my chest! I would never get near this kind of supposedly magic fix kind of pill, ever again.

"frank": I am not going to give my real name here, this is humiliating enough. Tenuate caused me to develop gynecomastia. Look it up. Ok nevermind i will tell you: male breasts. I stopped taking it the minute i read about that side effect. They;re still not totally gone.

Randi: Looks like I’m in the minority here, I have been fine with Tenuate, lost 2 lbs in two weeks, which is a good start. I’m sticking with it until I reach my goal.

Crystal: Reading all these comments about Tenuate, and the problems it can cause with your heart, has got me really scared. Why do they allow pills like this on the market? I’ve been trying it for the last couple of weeks, but I’m going to stop.

Lorelei: I have just started taking Tenuate and while I appreciate all your honesty and everything I am sure I can remain in control. I used to pride myself on my willpower and only after having a baby did I gain all this nasty fat. I hate being fat. Only stupid people allow themselves to get fat. I am going to continue with Tenuate and take a muscle relaxer for my stress it causes.

Libby: Well I have been taking this as prescribed, one tablet an hour before each meal, but it does not have an impact on how much I am eating. Could that be why I am have GI problems. Perhaps I need to limit my portions a bit more.

Karen: I’m married to a doctor, and he would never ever let me take a drug like Tenuate, so I had to sneak it. And, you know what? I’m really glad he was there when all those side effects started to jump in! He kept asking me what was wrong, why I couldn’t stop moving around, and stayed up until 2 in the morning cleaning. I finally had to tell him, and he told me to stop taking the pills immediately. I was worried that by just stopping them I might have some sort of relapse ore something, but I got off of them ok. What a stupid thing to do!

marilyn: Tenuate made me gassy and bloated, anxious, and i think it also decreased my sex drive. It worked ok for a little while but then it stopped and i gained it all back. I didn’t’ care for this.

Enid: For the first couple of weeks I had no problems with Tenuate, but I was mostly just working around the house and my husband was doing any errands I needed to get done. Just yesterday I went out to the grocery store though, only 5 miles away, but I felt very drowsy. I don;t think I should’ve been driving while on Tenuate, I don;t wanna fall asleep at the wheel. I guess as along as I;m care this is okay.

Sandy: On my 14th day of taking Tenuate I had the worst experience of my life. I was in the grocery store with my 4 year old daughter and suddenly realized she had wandered off. I was so distracted and confused and I almost left without her. When the woman who had found her approached me I was so irate and out of my mind I thought she was trying to kidnap her. I lunged at her and the security guard had to restrain me. My daughter was sobbing and soon so was I. Nothing of the sort had ever happened to me. I had been in good health, aside from about 15 extra pounds and I was compltely mystified and scared of my behavior. Needless to say when I spoke to my GP who is also a family friend she couldn’t believe I had been taking such a dangerous drug. Everyone knows how bad it is. Why didn’t I. I am now a one woman crusade against Tenuate. I would rather be a little overweight than risk my mental and physical health and certainly ever put my child in jeopardy again.

Janice: This has not been the best drug but I have confidence in my doctor, and knowing that he keeps a close eye on me and any changes that occur makes me feel better about taking Tenuate. The weight’s coming off slowly, about a pound every 2 weeks.

EileenWamester: Tenuate isn’t so bad. You just have to use it in moderation like everything else. If I feel more anxious that usual I take a break and watch my caloric intake. I don’t need the government telling me what I can and cannot take, I cam a grown up, for god’s sake.

Laurel: I don’t think I was aware of all of the terrible effects that come with Tenuate. I had started taking it, thinking it was going to be something I could stop just like any other diet pill. but it was very different, and I started noticing that i felt UNABLE to stop taking it. Basically, i think i was addicted. I felt completely ill and panicked when i stopped taking it, and yet, i didn’t exactly feel great when i was taking it. It became such a catch-22 for me. this continued long after it stopped being effective for weight loss. In fact i gained weight back while i was still hooked on Tenuate. I was very anxious and nervous and wasn’t sleeping. Finally i had to go through a “withdrawal” period just to get back to normal. this is not stuff to mess with.

lori: the hardest part about being on tenuate for me is keeping to the restricted calorie diet, it is very, very tough. but i am beginning to see the difference between what i was accustomed to eating vs how much i SHOULD be eating. its rather eye opening. i just hope i can stick with this once i’m off the medication.

Jodie: TENUATE IS A DANGEROUS, INEFFECTIVE SCAM! IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING FOR LONG TERM WEIGHT LOSS BCS IT STOPS WORKING ALMOST RIGHT AWAY!!! I AM SO SORRY I BOUGHT THIS STUFF ALL IT GOT ME WAS SHAKES, DIARRHEA AND MONTHS AND MONTHS OF SPAM EMAILS FROM THE “PHARMACY.” IT WAS A HIDEOUS EXPERIENCE AND A TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I AM STILL FAT, BUT NOW I AM ANNOYED ANGRY AND MISTRUSTFUL. ALL DUE TO TENUATE.

Brenda: I kept hoping Tenuate would be the magic bullet that I needed to lose these post twin pounds, but nope. Now I have two babies screaming, and that’s what I feel like doing too. This stuff made me so nervous, so hyper, that I thought maybe I was suffering some sort of post-partum depression. How can such a powerful drug, so powerful that it makes you feel really nuts, be on the market? It’s not right. I’m just glad my new girls and I made it through this in one piece!

Valerie: Tenuate has affected my hunger somewhat like its supposed to, and I have been able to lose some weight. I am hopeful that I will reach my goal weight in a few months so that I do not have to be on the medication for too long, i’m doing my best to make the necessary changes, i’m sure everything is making a differnce.

Holly: how can this be legal? Is it legal? I knew I was being dumb but I just wanted to lose weight without effort. I know, I know. don’t hate me I just can’t seem to lose this belly now that I am 50. I should know better by now. This drug has not worked and I have experienced similar side effects to you all.

Thalia: I can’t take this drug, don’t want to keep experimenting, but REALLY want this weight gone…has anybody done the south of the border thing?

Geraldine: Unfortunately, I didn’t do thorough enough research before purchasing Tenuate. The key thing I wish i’d known was that this pill ceases to be effective after a few weeks. I am looking for something that will keep working for as long as i need it!! Besides, I don’t like the idea of a “quick fix” and that’s exactly what this seems to be. If any of you could give me the name of a diet pill that works in more of a longterm way i would be very appreciative.

elise: taking tenuate has really been a difficult experience, i was hoping to find more success stories here but that is not the case. i’m not giving up yet, however, i just read about hoodia p57 for appetite suppression, its all natural. i am wondering if that might be a better option for me.

swoozy: so far i have only lost 2 lbs with tenuate, in 4 weeks. i was expected more, perhaps i should discontinue, it looks like it might not get much better at this point.

CARRIE: TENUATE CAUSED ME TO VOMIT ON A FIRST DATE. THE END.

Renee: For me the Tenuate experience seems to be pretty mild in comparison to what a lot of you have said. I really appreciate seeing these comments, I have only experienced some drowsiness and a few stomach cramps at this point, minor discomfort but nothing I can’t live with. Still, I am very unsure if this is something I should continue takign, I might need to look into other options that have fewer consequences on my health.

renee: i was a former alli user & i got sick and tired of my slow progress (and the side effects!) with that. I thought Tenuate would be different but I had very similar gastrointestinal grossness with it, and my weight loss was minimal. Plus tenuate made me nervous and i had trouble sleeping. Wow. i just don’t know how many more times i can be disappointed by diet pills before i give up completely.

Ivy: At this point in my life, I almost feel like saying, “well so what if I’m a little overweight? what’s it to ‘ya?”. But then I think how unhealthy it is, and how with just a little help that extra 25 might go away…but Tenuate is not the answer! This is a VERY BAD DRUG! 25 pounds shouldn’t be a reason to go crazy! I had so many freaked out moments taking Tenuate…I really didn’t know if I’d ever feel “normal” again. Now I think I know what it must feel like to be anorexic, and it’s not good. So, yeah, I’ll get rid of those 25, but I’ll sure do it in a different way.

Liv: Well I did lose some weight with Tenuate (6 lbs in 6 weeks) but I have begun to lose my HAIR too. THis is not a desired affect, I am not pleassed with this drug at all.

mollydoodle_503: I can’t believe products like Tenuate are still around. It seems so outdated. There are so many natural products that actually work. I caught my mom using Tenuate and it was very freaky friday. I had to chastise her for her ignorance. Now we both take a product made with hoodia and a fat burner. much better for everyone.

Georgia: I tried to run off all the excess energy and nervousness I experienced with Tenuate but even when I was physically exhausted by mind was still racing and my entire body buzzing. I would not recommend this to any woman who wants to preserve her sanity.

laura: TENUATE IS THE BEST AND ONLY DIET PILL I WILL EVER TAKE. IN FEBRUARY OF 1991 I WEIGHED 275LBS. I AM 5′8″ TALL SO I WAS A BIGGGG GIRL. BYCHRISTMAS 1991 I WEIGHED 145 LBS AND WORE A SIZE 6. HERE WE ARE IN 2008, I AM 55 YRS OLD AND I WEIGH 145LBS. IF I FIND MYSELF PUTTING ON A FEW POUNDS DEPENDING ON HOW BAD I THINK I HAVE LOST MY BAD EATING HABITS I MAY TAKE TENUATE FOR A WEEK TO REINFORCE MY SELF IMPOSED HEALTHY EATING HABITS THAT I OU THE WEIGHT YOU ARTAUGHT MYSELF DURING MY INITIAL WEIGHT LOSS. FORGET THE CARBS/PROTEIN DIETS IT AND SUCH IT IS ALLLLLLLL IN THE CALORIES AND BALANCE OF FOOD. COMON SENSE. I DO NOT EXERCISE LIKE A DEMON EITHER. EVERYTHING IN MODERATION EXCEPT WATER. I DRINKK A GALLONA DAY AND CAN EAT ANYTHING I WANT. BUT TENUATE IS THE ANSWER TO THE BEGINNING A A GREAT NEW LIFE!! GOOD LUCK

Tammi: Well i must have been taking a DIFFERENT TENUATE bcs it TOTALLY SUCKED for me!! I lost 10 lbs in the first few weeks, but like others have mentioned it STOPPED WORKING completely within a month. I had 75 lbs to lose so Tenuate wasn’t cutting it!! And it is NOT true that you can eat whatever you want!!! It is irresponsible to come on a weight loss site and say that to struggling dieters! ! TENUATE is a DINOSAUR pill and it is totally INEFFECTIVE.

Jeff: Has anyone experienced any Anxiety from taking this medication? The medication worked for my appetite. I could literally go 18 hours without food. But i was so amped up with anxiety i couldn’t eat. It was years ago when i took this medication. And i am here now looking into it again, but not to lose weight, but to see if anyone else has issues with Anxiety long after they’ve stopped taking the medication? I believe that this medication is responsible for the anxiety relapses which seem to come on out of no where and unprovoked.

Vicki: I was using Tenuate for 6 months and lost 3 stone. I found it shrunk my stomache and gave me a very different/positive attitude towards food. I ate more fruit and Veg whilst using this drug than ever before and learnt how to control my appatite and eat only when I am hungry. It might not be for everyone, everyones body is different but it certainly worked for me and I have reccommended to many. The only side effects I had was that i had a dry mouth (which turned out to be a blessing because it made me drink more water) and I found it hard to get to sleep for the first 3 nights so i started taking my last pill before 6pm and I was fine from then onwards. When i stopped taking them i put on 5Lbs in 8 months but I’d imagine thats because I stopped going to the gym too (lack of funds being the only reason). Goodluck to anyone looking to lose weight, this is the only thing I’ve found to work and its also helped me educate myself about food. Also try using a Food Diary, that also came in very useful! :)

Charlyne: Well, for me, Tenuate did what the package warned, it “lost effectiveness after a few weeks.” not sure, Vicki, how you managed to get 6 quality months out of this….i think you might be an exception to the rule. Anyway, it stopped working and this was long before the weight was lost. i was told i could take a break from it and then start back up again in a few weeks..the problem was, during the “break” i regained all the weight i lost and then it was like starting all over again! So for me, this just wasn’t the best way. But that’s great that some of you are benefiting from it.

Deb: I had taken Tenuate years ago and lost 30lbs in 3 months. It really did’nt bother me a lot.I did experience excess energy and some nerveosness.I am thinking about taking tenuate again since I have put on 20lbs.With the problems a lot of you are having I am worried.I’ll let you know.

Teresa: I’m sorry that many of you have had a bad reaction to this medication. If any of you buy it online..I would be vary wary..who know’s what you’re really getting. BUT, let me say this: This is my 4th time on it in 12 years. It worked everytime. It is imparative that when you are on it you excercise and keep your caloric and fat intake down. For me 30g of fat and 1200 calories. The only reason I ever gained the weight back was having two babies and/or eating the crap that my husband always wants to eat and eventually I would give in and eat like him. Then after being tired of being overweight I would get back on it. I just lost 12 pounds in two months and I feel fine. Yes, a little nervous and such but nothing I can’t handle. Good Luck!

Anonymous: All the negative comments about Tenuate, but don’t you research drugs before taking them? Every website will tell you it only works for a few weeks to get your body going. All the websites tell you not to take it after 8 weeks. Maybe if more of you did a little more research on the things you are putting into your body, there wouldn’t be half of the complaints in this blog.

tiffany: I think Tenuate is great I started taking it last tuesday and it is sunday now, I started out at 172.5. lbs and am currently 165 So I have lost 7.5 pounds in 5 days! i feel great have lots of energy!!!!! I have read many of the blogs of others who have lost like 1 pound a week I am wondering if you are over eating, and not exercising. I am eating one small meal daily, drinking lots of water and exercising daily!!! I would recommend this to the next person as long as you arn’t just taking the pill and thinking the weight will just fall off you will loose weight!DO A LITTLE WORK TOO! 50 more ponds to go!!!!!!

lindsay: i axtually purchase mine from a registered gp,and have been taking them on and off for 6 years and experience most if not all of the side effects.i am dangerously addicted to these pills and losing my appetite but would love to live a normal happy life without these pills.ive been big all my life and these pills have contributed to my overeating,as i lose huge amounts of weight very quickly then pile it all back on and more when the desired affects wear off.they make me very snappy angry and depressed and i sometimes struggle to get through the day without crying or arguing violently with my partner.i woluld not recommend these pills to anyone, their not a miracle cure and are very dangerous.if like me you have problems with overeating you need therapy and some sort of counselling to deal with this problem like im going to do.they should be illegal.

Xantos: I started to use Tenuate 4 days ago and i’ve already lost 4 pounds with a diet and regular exercise almost everyday(either dancing or pilates).I still need to lose about 30 pounds.Since i am taking the pills ,i feel more positive and full of energy. No side effects!

Michelle: Well, so far I’m liking Tenuate. I started taking it last Thursday (7/30/09)…weighed 157 and 4 days later (8/4/09) I weighed 146. Today (8/5/09) I weigh 144. I am actually scared it is working too well. The first couple of days it affected my sleep but since then I’ve been fine with that. My Doctor gave me the 75mg daily release…I’m wondering if you all are taking the daily release or the lower/multi. pills a day script.??? I work out pretty consistently (5x a wk for 1hr) and try to eat at or less than 1500 cal. a day. My Dr. also said to lower starches/carbs. so I did that too. I don’t cook and visit fast food rest. a lot…if I have a burger, I will eat it with only 1 bun or sometimes no bun depending on what I’ve eaten that day. I do get jittery, sometimes drowsy. I doubt I will take this for more than the 30 day script. I just needed something to give me a boost…I was fighting losing/gaining 10lbs and then gaining even more. My mom is morbidly obese and both my sister and my brother are obese so I just want to be proactive and not let my weight get out of control. Good luck to you all.

kath: Where do l buy Tenuate (a secure site)as there are so many scammers out there

christina: I am a big fan of phentermine but when night fall comes I just cant fight the cravings. I just had a visit with my doctor and he prescribed me Tenuate. Now before I ever take a new drug I do a whole lot of research. Alot of you people sure do have alot of complaints. Now have you ever thought that the problem lies within yourself. The feelings and emotions most of you desribe you had while on Tenuate you may have already had them just not severe enough to have recognized the problem untill you were introduced to Tenuate dont let the drug control you and if you cant do that then you need to do it natrually get off your but and exersize and eat healthy it is a lifestyle change if you want things done your way do it your self but goodluck to most of you week minded people out their who let the drug take control who are allready suffering from minor to severe psychological problems stay away from the drug its affects are no different to any street drug out there. Does it make you feel better about yourself cause its legal well its still a drug do your research Tenuate is very close to being an amphetimine and yes i know phentermine is similar to an amphetimine. Its all about control.Good luck and GOD BLESS OUR SOULS.
