Flex Belt – Accelerated Abdominal Toning Technology
The Flex Belt® is an awesome move forward in scientific ab shaping ingenuity. It is by far, the most proven and successful device we have seen for immediate ab toning. The Flex Belt has become the #1 ab belt systems on the market - due to its use of results driven, clinically demonstrated EMS technology. EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) is simply wonderful and The Flex Belt is the first of its kind to actually gain FDA Clearance using this technology. The Flex Belt® does all of the work! Even better is that it works all of your stomach muscles at the same time – it gets the Upper Abdominals, The Lower Abdominals and the Love Handles (or Obliques). So you don’t have to worry about trying to get all the different areas because it does them all simultaneously. The best part is that you can use The Flex Belt while you do other things. You can be cooking, cleaning, working at your desk, talking on the phone, surfing the net or watching TV. It is perfect for those of us who don’t have time and for those that are in great shape that just want to take their stomach toning to a new level. Check out our full review and see what various Celebrities, Super Models, Olympic Gold Medalists and Legendary Athletes use The Flex Belt. Click Here to read more.

Cacolamine – Chocolate Extract Good for You and Your Waistline
Cacolamine contains just one thing: pure Raw Chocolate Extract, which is also known as Theobroma Cacao. This remarkable formula was designed to give users a better quality of life by boosting happiness, mood, vigor, mental acuity, and enthusiasm, along with cutting appetite. Reports suggest that eating a little bit of high grade, albeit calorie laden, dark chocolate a day can have a very positive effect on everything from immune function and mood to appetite. But who can eat just a little chocolate? What’s more, we would have to spend the day eating dozens and dozens of chocolate bars to get the same amount of Theobroma Cacao contained in even one Cacolamine capsule. Cacolamine was formulated to provide users with optimal amounts of Theobroma Cacao without the Caffeine kick that’s often associated with eating raw chocolate or the fattening calories a chocolate bar inherently has. The result is pure positive effects and no hefting up or jittering out. Cacolamine is one of our most popular reviews, and we’re not at all surprised since it’s a rather remarkable product. Hilarie: Well, Velashape sounded really interesting to me, but that’s before i saw the $1,300 cost. I just cant afford that.

Cassandra: Well, i heard about VelaShape on Dr. Phil…i used to take his word as gospel, but then when i saw that i thought he has finally lost his mind. i look it up on line and all i see is it hurt people, and it doesnt WORK. also so expensive! I am never going to listen to Dr. Phil again, looks like he just wants to make a buck like all the rest of them

Tammy: well i dont want no drs. cuttin on me, i dont trust that they make mistake’s all the time

MaryElla: For me i need to loose at least 120 lbs and it dont seem like this Velashape helps with weght loss. I dont think its the right choice for me.

Deneen: DO NOT DO THIS TO YOURSELF!!! I heard about Velashape on the Today Show & i just had to go & do it. Even after i read your very acurate and true review here, i just had to learn the hard way. THE PROCEDURE WAS SO PAINFUL AND IT LEFT BRUSIES ALL OVER MY BODY I LOOKED LIKE I HAD BEEN HIT BY A CAR!!!! I PAID $1800 TO DO THIS TO MYSELF. And IT DID NOT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kara: that price is rediculous. What happened to Dr. PHil? He just seems like a moneygrubbing whore now.

Nora: Well, unlike some of you i dont expect Dr. PHil to make my decisions for me! I think he’s great… even tho lately everyone seems to enjoy bashing him. Leave him alone!

Toni: OMG VELASHAPE WAS THE WORST EXPEREINCE OF MY LIFE ……..22 MINUTES OF PURE PAIN!!! DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert: Hi there, they say you burn more calories the more you weight. So say if i weight 170 lbs and I go hiking wearing a 30 lb. hiking pack on my back? would i burn the same caloires as a 200 lb person?

Keisha: Velashape costs WAY to much

Samantha: So, the results from Velashape don’t even last? That sounds like a terrible waste! I thought that if you are going to spend that much money, you should at least get results that last.

Jake: It looks to me like Velashape is mostly 4 women…i dont think i’m up for the pain either.

Lia: Hi i read that Velashape makes you pee a lot after u get it.. this makes me think of Alli, which did TERRIBLE things to me when i tried it. an answer to this would be super helpful thx.

starlite_moon09: Wow it doesnt seem to me like too many of you like this Velashape!! It seems like there HAS to be a more affordable way.

jonquil_xt: Velashape reads to be meant for people who have already lost weight. What I need is a inexpensive product that can get me there. Can any body recommend something good for that?

YellowLabz: Ugh, i was considering this for like 3 minutes, but all i needed to see was that Velashape made somebody look like they were HIT BY A CAR. No thanks!

Natalie: This Velashape just doesnt seem too great when u figure it costs close to $2,000. for that price i better have a whole new body.

annie: I went against all the warnings (including this review) & did Velashape anyway. Heres what happened to me: it didnt hurt, i guess i have tough skin or something. But it DID NOT WORK. and for the price i paid, THAT was painful!

MrWalrus04: Hi, i had begun to do research about the Velashape procedure, and geez, all i see are unhappy customers. I’m going to spare myself.

Gina: I thought Velashape looked so good when i saw it on TV….but i guess they dont show you the bad stuff, huh? I’m so glad i Googled this, so many bad things came up! No thanks, not for me.

Krissie: This one sounds like hell, thx for the warnings everyone.

Joan: Well, i have some trouble with urinary incontinence anyway, so the stuff about excessive urination with Velashape concerns me a lot. Think I iwll try something else.

proton_neutron83: THANK YOU for all of the great information and the warnings about Velashape….I dont think i was ever seriously considering it, but i was curious. So i’m glad the info. here set me straight! great website.

angie: well i dont trust celebrities like Dr. Phil anyway. HES NOT EVEN A REAL DR!!!

VLF: I do not watch day time TV, so I did not hear about this from Dr. Phil. I work out regularly, watch what I eat daily but I have a small belly due to 3 c-sections so I decided to try the velashape. I cannot say whether it really works or not, but, I will not be back for any more treatments because it hurt ALOT!!! The pain made me hyper ventilate and they said the next treatment hurts even more. I would have to be on pain killers to try again. It is just not worth it. VLF

debbie hart: velashape is expensive and does not work at all.dont waste your time and money,i am very disappointed in this procedure

katie: I lost 3 inches on my waist after doing 4 treatments and 2 inches on my thighs. It was awesome. It was worth the money in the end.

Vanessa: I paid a whopping $3,000. for velashape. This procedure is very uncomfortable, it burns the heck out of you and a waist of time. They make you prepay upfront for eight treatments , with no refund. I have received four of eight treatments and nothing has happen. I told my doctorm it’s not working, she continues to tell me to diet and exercise and take diet pills, HELL, I can loose inches on my own if that was the case. What a Damn fool I feel like $3,000. GONE

Salma: Well, I thought although VS is expensive, but if it’s going to be as helpful as those ads that they show on tv – yea I know stupid me to believe it – it’s going to be worth it…so it was like brain washing…I finished my 4 treatments and I’ve lost one inch – yea funny! now it’s week 2 after the last treatment and everything is back to normal. What’s worse is that during the four session, every technician did it differently and when I ask each one she says the other girl doesn’t know what she’s doing – I did it at a reputable institution btw. It hurts so much that you feel when they’re gliding that thing on your tummy that they’re going to break a bone or something, it was so painful and the worst experience that I feel I was completely ripped off! but hey, I deserve it for not doing a good research in advance. Piece of advice, DO NOT CONSIDER IT AT ALL COSTS! Thanks,

Madison: I lost about 40 lbs last year and had some loose skin, and my thighs were a little lumpy. I’m at my desired weight, and was told by a very informed woman that Vela was not about weight loss. And I had to maintain my weight to keep the results. I lost almost 3 inches in my abdomen, and 2 inches in each thigh after 6 treatments. Anyone who says this hurts had a technician who didn’t know what they were doing! I found it to feel like a warm deep massage- and actually enjoyed my time. I only paid $250 for 3 sections, per treatment, and they comp’d my last treatment as a thank you. But I think what needs to come across here is this is NOT for weight loss- and places are charging way too much. I looked at three places and they were all about $250-300 a treatment. Worth every penny to me! My stomach doesnt have that loose skin, and my thighs def look smoother. I totally recommend it for anyone who is done with weight loss, and needs a little tightening up.

Nancy W.: I agree this is not for weight loss, AT ALL. If you have the money to go to the spa and do this type of thing, then its for you, think mud baths, hot stones etc…I have used it and its fine for the experience. My only concern is with the long term and possible side effects of the pseudo medical treatment. I have tried it but would not do it again or regularly. Again, please know this is not for weight loss specifically.

Anonymous: I have had 3 velashape treatments so far…..must say, I bruised badly…..i also started to itch on my chest..which eventually went away….I thought it would be a pleasant thing..like going to a spa or something..but it has been painful, and i still have the bruising when the next one comes due………I have a friend that had the runs for 2 days after each treatment..I guess, each person is different…but for them to advertise it as pleasant..is really a lie…….It was not pleasant, and i paid 3000 dollars up front…….Yuk…

Anon.: Oh dear….i’m getting scared. I am in the middle of getting velashape treatments. I have had 2 treatments already, and i haven’t really seen a difference. I told them i don’t need to lose size, just cellulite. And they told me after just 2 treatments I will see a difference. hmmm. If this really doesn’t work, they can’t just steal my money like that, can they?

sgunzer78: Oh, they can and they WILL take your money!! I only wish I had read this review, and seen these comments first. VelaShape sounded perfect for me, but I am also out several thousand dollars, still trying to get out of debt. If you havent’ seen any difference yet, believe me, you won’t. Don’t bother going for more.

Robin: I saw the procedure on the Rachel Ray show and also they made it look like a good thing. I am glad I read these reviews because I was very interested and thinking about having it done. I am a size 6 or 8, but wanted to do something about the cellulite on my abdominal area. It is not suppose to be painful either and so many of you said it was. That is a shame and to be charging so much for this that doesn’t deliver the results.

Ashley: I had a series of VelaShape treatments and LOVED IT!! Maybe you guys were going to practitioners who didn’t know what they were doing but I saw AMAZING results and I thought the price was fairly reasonable considering how much it was for any surgical procedure.

Huntsville: I had the old VelaSmooth treatments, then the new VelaShape treatments and although I saw some improvements with the VelaSmooth I have seen AMAZING results with the VelaShape! And the price changes depending on where you live and clinic to clinic. All of you who are downing the VelaShape were either hopeless to begin with and they didn’t tell you that or you didn’t finish your treatment cycle! VelaShape is NOT for everyone!

Sue: Well I just went for a consultation yesterday and was told that 8 treatments for the knee area and inner thigh would run me…..$2500. Pretty steep if this doesn’t actually work. I’m quite thin but have loose areas aound the knee and thigh so would like to tighten the area but would also like to reduce the size….but if most people say it doesn’t work….YIKES…should I run now?

karen: Good point, VelaShape is NOT for everyone, that was the case for me. I only wish I had known that going in to the treatment cycle, that it would leave me in greater debt with loose skin, still. Maybe there’s some kind of topical cream or something that can firm my skin, I will never do any procedure like this ever again.

rae: I just had my consult today at American Laser Center and like a dummy I signed up for the package at $1800 for 5 Velashape treatments on my lower abs. I’m thinking I should change my mind now that I’ve read over this. I am near my goal weight. Im 5′4″ and 135 / size 4. If I call within less than 24hrs you’d think they’d let me cancel it with no charge right?!

joan: I had 5 treatments done and saw NOTHING!

Christine: DONOT do this Waste of hard earned money! Had it done on stomach 6 times and saw absolutely NOTHING!

ANGELA, NYC: Someone please respond back….I am 5′7″ 140 lbs. Fairly muscular legs with lots of dimples everywhere. I just had my first treatment ($500 for entire butt and front/back of thigh area). Each leg/butt took about 35 min. I was in there for a little over an hour. The technician said i am lucky to have thick skin, because the heat was not uncomfortable at all for me. (most girls scream after a certain point). It was hot at times, but nothing crazy painful. Those of you who have had it done, how long were each of your treatments??????? They also said they would do some carboxy therapy together with it. I still have 5 more treatments left (yup $3000) total. I have no bruising at all. I have been reading these comments and i am very discouraged in continuing. I dont know if i should. Could you please tell me how long your treatments were each leg, each time you went. (again mine were 30 min each leg/ 1 hour total). Thanks so much

Diane: I had lipo suction in January and decided to have the Velashape done to smooth out my skin. I have had two treatments….I hate every single second of it. I am going to have a total of 7 treatments, 3 areas, total cost 2800.00. I realized when I signed up that there is no magic pill or procedure that’s going to make us look perfect. Having said that, I was willing to take a chance and see if it would improve my appearance. I’ll let ya know!!

Angela: *VelaShape* It is a waist of money–I exercise and eat healthy, but still have a trouble spot on my lower abdominal area. I have spent 1800.00 and have not lost any of my trouble area and I have finished all of my treatments. Think twice before doing this, you may throw money away as I have

lica: I just had my first treatment today of vela shape after watching kim kardashin get it done on her show. It was alright. it was 250 for leg thighs and the same amount for stomach and sides and back. it was 2 hours long. I was told i may have some bruising and some burning during treatment but to let her know if it got to hot. I was given some water afterwards I paid after my first session was over… and I signed up for another next week. I was told to drink plenty of water 6-8 glasses normal and some green tea to help flush the fat away. the more water u drink the more u go to peee. I did have bruising on my upper waist sides and back..but my thighs are fine as of now it does not hurt. The velashape felt like a suction kinda felt good but done over the same area alot heats up the skin and burns like quick hot something touched u like a hot seat belt when u get in the car. Not on every move just in some places tolerable…just let them know and they will let it cool and move to the next spot…she could see a differ right after..we took pics to see before and after the treatments…i have no contract just one session at a time…I should see results in 2 treatments so I booked another to see if it really works..It worked for kim kardashin so I hope it works for me…it is permenant. one treatment every 3 months for touch ups in case u splurg on choc cake and did no exercise. see it burns the fat cells without the long workout so I give it a try if it really works i will let u know.

angela, NYC: Hi Lica, PLease please touch back with us and tell us about your results. i would really like to know the extent of the results (subtle, big huge difference) Thanks so much!

Donna: I had Velashape done after researching other options and I would definitely NOT recommend it. Talk about a waste of money! I had the front and back of my legs done for a total cost of $4200. I was skeptical but I had read and watched all the reports saying how wonderful this was. First of all, $2100 for just the front side of your thighs? Whoever heard of not doing the entire leg area, so like an idiot, I paid for both. Talk about a rip off and it hurts like crazy. I was bruised and very sore but they said it was normal. They were supposed to get back with me to go over my before and after photos. I told them that I saw no change at all and obviously they didn’t either so I’m sure they really don’t want to hear from me and that’s why I have not heard a word from them since my last treatment. They have not even tried to sell me a maintenance agreement because I’m sure by now they realize that I am on to them and that this is a racket. A very expensive lesson. Save your money.

Sara, LA: Velashape is the most expensive disappointment of my life. I spent the money with the highest hopes that I would see a difference. I took my own before and after pics and the pictures that were taken 3 weeks into the procedures looked better then the pictures taken at the end of the 6 sessions. I would recommend to everyone thinking about this to SAVE YOUR MONEY.

jack: WOW!!!!!!!i thought i was sure about trying velashape now i am very confused. i believe all the negative remarks, but i want to believe the very, very few good comments. HELP!!!!!

Heather: Velashape seemed like the best option when I decided to go for treatments but turned out to be a HUGE disappointment, I wish I had looked into it a little more, and really wish I had read these comments first. I was a bit hesitant to spend the money, but thought it would be worth it if it worked. First of all, the treatments left me SO sore, and I really don’t see a difference at all. I wish I could offer some hopeful advice, but I would never recommend Velashape to anyone.

Carol: I signed up for Velashape without doing any research and I am so sorry I did this. I am in the middle of my treatments and there is absolutely no improvement at all. I get VERY bruised and it is soooo painful. I can’t believe I did this! I have to drive a long way to my appointments, so this is not only a waste of money but also a waste of gas. Please, whatever you do, save your hard earned money. DO NOT DO THIS, YOU WILL BE SO SORRY! We are so desperate to look better and tend not to believe all the negative comments, but I found out the hard way that they are all true. There is a reason they make you pay before treatments begin!!!!

Nancy: Please don’t put yourself through this……I, too wanted to believe it would work, but their is NO magic cellulite treatment ..YET…It may come, but this isn’t it. I just through away $3000 and it makes me angry!! but I learned alot from the experience…..Think how many groceries and gas you can get for 3 grand…………….!!!!

anonymous: sad two say yes thay are taking our money . its all about money . i would like to hear from the people that do the treatment on the clints.what do they see. Im sure its all about money . the sad thing is these companys dont want u to know the truth

Beth: Well, I hope… HOPE after reading through all of this that I can add something helpful. I’ll be up front, honest, but we have to correct some things, starting with this from the host: “Unfortunately, this procedure is quite expensive, and may cost several hundred up to two thousand dollars per treatment; so many people may be unable to afford to keep up this type of procedure.” I don’t know of any facility that charges a thousand dollars PER TREATMENT. In our mid-western market, it’s usually around 300-400 per treatment and that’s too much if it doesn’t work. So let’s talk about WHO should try it and WHAT your expectations should be. It is NOT a reliable method of losing weight. If you’re 170lbs, don’t expect that Vela Shape is going to sculpt you into a trim size 6. Reduction comes in when you have an “area” that is stubborn… like a pooch or a hang over. The infra-red heat and bi-polar RF HEAT the fat cells to SHRINK them. That’s the goal. I had a 9 month post partum woman this week who has been exercising and dieting but still had some love handles… measured 2 1/2 inches less after 3 treatments. She’s 33 and she’s active. But these were stubborn areas. We’re happy. I’ve also had some patients who think some positive results with VS is the green light for cheesecake after every meal. I never tell a patient they HAVE to diet, but I certainly expect them to be reasonable while they get treatments. Another thing I have recently noticed with cellulite treatments is increased difficulty with texture changes in older women, or women who suntan frequently. When we consider that the connective tissue which creates those verticle chambers where fat is stored are made of… collagen… and we know that collagen begins to degrade with age and other environmental factors… I think that connective tissue becomes lax and contributes to the appearance of cellulite. So when my patients stall out on VS, I whip out my ReFirme and/or Matrix laser (free of charge to my clients, btw) to see if we can stimulate collagen. It has made a difference in at least two of my patients recently and has affected my patient selection and consultation conversation. Which brings me to this conversation: If you are visiting “reputable facilities”… and getting different techniques, painful treatments, excessive bruising, and technicians who bad-mouth each other… it sounds like you’re visiting a franchise spa/salon… not a private physician based aesthetic center. The vacuum and heat settings CAN be adjusted if the technician gives a flip about your comfort. The massage hand piece should NOT be used on the abdomen if it’s uncomfortable… the can use the contour hand piece that is JUST heat and vacuum. So… be selective about your provider, be honest about the meds/supplements you’re using that contribute to bruising and sensitivity, and have realistic expectations. Does that help anyone?

Taylor: Hi guys! Well just like all of you I got sucked in by the pretty brochure and the website that sounded like a dream…well I’m 5 treatments in and haven’t seen ANY results….what a joke!!!I feel duped and I hope that this company goes belly up soon…jerks.

ML: I, too, wish that I had read these reviews prior to spending way too much money for nothing. It was uncomfortable, but not too bad, because I believed that around that 4th treatment, I was going to see results. Well, that’s what they kept saying and I lost a total of one inch and my skin is still flabby. I was trying to tighten my skin and get the cellulite out and it did nothing? Don’t waste your time! or money…..

Melissa: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY, PLEASE. I tried it after having my daughter and still needed to lose those last 15 pounds, wasn’t working out consistently either and it didn’t work at all, they said I could get Velashape at no add’l cost since I was unhappy with the results and after working out, getting to my goal weight that I haven’t touched in years…I started the treatments. Didn’t see one difference in cellulite or contouring. Oh and don’t indulge – ever, or your will have to go through one or more sessions again, if not It will come right back (for those it does work for) It’s way too expensive and if I wanted to do it all over again, I would have invested the money on personal training sessions so they could have helped me try achieve those goals. Also what I have learned that there is no cure for spot reducing with any treatment or diet. I range from 125-135 and my body fat is roughly 25%. I am considered fit and they said I was the perfect candidate for these treatments. Honestly, I am so disappointed that I fell for this. Good luck for those who try it anyway. I hope it does work for you but as I’m finding out with other posts online, most times it doesn’t.

Lynn: I have had three treatments, but had to stop because the last one left me with blisters. The burn must be deep because it has been two weeks and still not healed. I have not seen any improvement and have an ugly blister on my arm. I have two more treatments, but I don’t know when those can happen or if I am willing to take a chance. They took pictures, should I ask for my money back? I have already paid an additional 2000.00 for laser hair removal and don’t even want to pursue that anymore.

Karen: I have had 15 treatments and needless to say, I am extremely disappointed in my results. I couldn’t tell which picture was the before or after. The best advice I can give all of you thinking about it is: Don’t Waste your time or money.

Kim: I had Velashape done on the back of my thighs. For years I have had cellulite and saddlebags. After completing the recommended treatments I lost 1.5 inches off of each thigh and saw a dramatic difference in appearance and smoothness. I only wish I could have done this treatment sooner. All those wasted years of being embarassed at the beach. The treatments were not painful and I did not bruise. I read most of the other comments and it seems some people went to offices that were not properly trained on the equipment. I highly recommend the treatment performed by properly trained technicians!

Maureen: This is not a treatment you just decide to have done one day on a whim; I made sure my technicians knew exactly what they were doing, and they came highly recommended, too. Didnt make much of a difference, apparently: I still had bruises and moderate pain. Not severe, but pain nonetheless. And, the worst part, my arms look the same as before. VelaShape was most definitely a waste of time.

Yusra: I’m so confused now because I just signed up for 4 sessions. I guess I could cancel but I was so hopeful it would work after watching Rachel Ray.

Candace M.: IT was more painful than I expected and I still have cellulite on my hips, its really gross, even worse to me now, since I was planning on getting rid of it with Velashape. Seriously, save your money.

Sue: I worked at a spa in Tampa and gave Velasmooth and Velashape treatments. I like to make clients happy and tried my best to deliver good treatments. We had three different trainers come in and all three told us to do it differently, saying that as the technology evolved, so would the training. I followed all the trainers advice and gave extended treatments — as much as the clients could stand. I also gave myself treatments with no results. Clients either saw no results or extremely minimal. Many asked for their money back, but were given additional complimentary treatments instead. It’s also very uncomfortable for clients, especially towards the end as it heats up. Bottom line, spend your money on a personal trainer or gym membership.

Candy: BRUISES! BRUISES! BRUISES! Either I had a poorly trained technician (at a national laser center), or the “deep tissue massage” description of how it feels was a HUGE lie. It was painful and stressful. Do not do this to yourself.

Elaine: I was hesitant to try this ridiculously expensive treatment. I read the reviews on here and tried it anyway. I told my tech that I was skeptical and would def ask for my money back if it didnt work. She told me that she was friends with the inventor (james bartholomuse) and she was sure that people who had bad results had techs who were untrained, and over promised clients, and underpreformed. I also learned a lot of people can get bruising or burns!! Be careful where you go! I did just the one treatment, and my tech was nice enough to tell me that was all I needed, and I see a difference. I lost almost 1/2 in in my thighs. I paid $400 for the whole shibang. I def would recommend this- learn about your tech first, and how much experience they have. Also be adamant about not letting the tech ’stack’ with the smooth applicator. And if it hurts speak up! oh… its not a weight loss tool, so those with high expectations wont see results. Maybe thats why a lot of people on here are upset too, cause they were promised unrealistic expecations (which the velashape website promotes too) boo! So i like it, but again not for everyone!

barbara: I agree with you, Elaine, i think it’s all about promises and expectations. My tech probably had no business even giving me the Velashape treatment, bcs i was significantly overweight and she led me to believe that this would make a big difference. I think many of us here have been misled to think this will help make us thinner, when in reality you really have to lose your weight first. Education and information is important people…do your homework, this is too expensive not to.

Andrea: I loved the results. I was hesitant after reading this blog but I am glad I did it. I eat a healthy diet and exercise weekly I have worked with a trainer and tried various types of exercise to help me loose the inches around my abdomen (upper and lower) that just made my clothes fit not so great. I didn’t necessarily want to loose weight I just wanted my pants to fit better around the waist. It didn’t matter how many crunches I did – no success. After 4 treatments of velashape the area above and below my belly button began to budge and I lost 1.5 inches which made all my 10’s start falling off and now I am between a 10 and 8 depending on the cut and length. Fyi – because no one shares this info but I think it can help. I am 37 – have children (=stretch marks and sagging of lower abdomen area) 5′9″ 172 lbs before velashape – worked out three to four times a week weights and cardio. After velashape lost 9 lbs and 1.5 inches and still workout the same and maybe even less the last few weeks because of a knee injury from running. Two months later and I have never felt more comfortable with my body and how my clothes fit. Regarding pain – I would say a little discomfort the first time but my tech was great and the second time no problem. Negotiate the cost wait for deals with the office you are working with. I believe it was worth the money but I didn’t pay as much as many of the other people claimed it cost.

JoAnne: I spent 8,500.00 on VelaShape . I had to pay upfront and was hoping for great results for cellulite. I didn’t need to lose weight as I only weigh 123 pounds and am 5′6. I’ve had at least 30 treatments with NO RESULTS. I was only suppose to get 8 for that price but the clinic (American Laser Clinics) obviously sees no difference either as they continue treatments free of charge. For 8,500.00 I should get to go for a lifetime. I think they’re just waiting for me to give up. I feel so angry at being stupid enough to spend that kind of money I continue to go. I have a monthly payment of 675.00 until paid off so that in itself is a constant reminder of my stupidity. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! I’m sick each and every month I get that bill.

Lynn: All the Velashape treatments did for me was cause pain & bruising. I suppose I was another one who was misled by my physician. She did not tell me all the facts and now my stomach looks worse than ever! Don’t even bother researching this, just look for anohter way.

janie: This review on VelaShape from sensational.com/diet confirms my suspicions. Thanks for sharing all your experiences.

Anonymous: The Velashape treatment hurts and leaves bruises for weeks. Had one trt. and got refund.

phillis: I too have had trouble with the Velashape. I have a high tallerance of pain I get me legs and under arm hair removal and they put the machine on the high setting with no pain. And the first visit didnt heart that bad but After the first visit I had blisters . the second visit was about 2 weeks later and it really painful. not too hot just pinched. the third vist was more painful with lots of brusing. But the forth visit that I tought about not going to because of the pain My skin got caught in the rollers twice . I could not stand the pain any more. I have talked to the manager and they said that it has never happened to any one else. And they allso said that they never had any blister either . After reading about everyone else I dont belive them . I told them I want my money back.

Nancy: I am small and petite but wanted smoothing on my abs. I had 6 treatments; it did nothing. I wasted my money.

H Lee Davidson: VelaShape – Bruising!!! In addition to overly expensive, I found that the claim that there may be some bruising to be understated. I bruised from knee to hip and suffered with pain for weeks due to the bruising. Definately not worth it – hit the gym, watch your diet, use cellulite cream and spanks and you’ll do better without the pain or price.

Karen: I am considering the VelaShape treatment. I was told it doesn’t hurt; the cost quoted to me was $1500 for 6 treatment (stomach and love handles). I just want to loose the little flab I have around the stomach so clothes fit better. I have been researching and this is the first I have heard of pain and that the treatment does not work. Any comments would be welcomed.

melissa: i had 1 velashape treatment should i continue? or get my money back i paid for 6 it was 2,000. i want to do it if it works i cant tell after one treatment

Julia: Amazingly working non-invaisve piece of equipment. Vela shape works perfectly in combonation with active live style and moderate diet( different for each person).I truly believe in it and have awesome results. Definitely you’ll spend money but it valuable investment in you health(if you’d not screwed up everything in one day). Nothing is permanent.Good luck everybody. Never give up.

Amber: I got the first one for free so I had to try it! I am sooooooo bruised and I have blisters all over my thighs! It was sooooooo painful that I almost made her stop. I am so glad I did not pay for this! They said I lost an inch but I don’t see it! Diet and Exercise is the key!

chrissy: OMG!!! I too tried Vela treatment but I also combined it with Mesotherapy because that was what the doc suggested. All i can say is how terribly painful and I am not talking stub your two or hit your funny bone painful it is agonizing. I had the inner and outer thighs done the whole time I was trying to concentrate on breathing or talking to the girl to avoid the pain. I aksed her if this was common she said yes I said well they should knock you out then. I went home that night not being able to walk and had to ice myself, I couldn’t even sit on the toilet. The next day was even worse walking was a chore. I contacted the office and even went in today. Yes, It was bad the physician assistant stated that she had not seen bruising or complaints of pain like mine in the two years she worked there. I think that is a load of crap!! They took pics gave me dose of steroids and pain pills so that tells you someting. Oh, and yes I did get a complete refund. The mesotherapy itself wasn’t bad, it is a group of injections to help dilute the fat it barely hurts feels like any other shot. Oh yes, the doc writes for the settings so if that has anything to do with it it might make a difference but still when you say it hurts they should take note and stop treatment. Anyways, I hope this helps anyone who is contemplating this treatment I would never suggest this to anybody!!!!

wana: I wish I would have found this webdite before.I have had one VelaShape treatment and didnt see a difference.they told me i would see a differnce after the first treament. Is it too late to cancel.

Lisa: I was reading these postings, yeah I noticed a lot of negative results. Though the positive ones are right on the money with what I was told by the office. I’m going today, I only have to have $120 down. If it doesn’t work, I’ll let you know after 6 treatments. I eat well and work out anyway. So, we’ll see :D

Lisa: an update, I just got my first treatment yesterday, and noticed a lot of the wrinkles have gone, but still just as round. I worked out out an hour yesterday and an hour today, I am 40 in., and haven’t ate any junk foods.. I have an appointment in two weeks for the next session, we will see.

Mag: My experience was, that I noticed some improvement immediately following each vela Shape treatment but after a week, the cellulite was back. I kept thinking, maybe its just in my head..and it wll all be gone by the final treatment..However, that final treatment was 2 months ago and my thighs have just as many nasty lines as they did when i starte this. I’m really disappointed, I was so sure I’d see the results. And by the way, I DO workout regularly, and have tried being better about my diet. I relly don’t think its me & my habits that caused this return, I don’t think it was ever really gone in the first place.

Anonymous: i had 6 VelaShape treatments of my thighs and i am very happy

corinne: The Vela Shape treatments were just to TEMPORARY for my likeing esp. for the price of it. I mean i paid $1,300 for the treatments and the cellulite was back within a coupld weeks. I must say in this economy i can’t afford that kind of extravagance.

Melisa: I’ve been very happy with my VelaShape results so I feel compelled to respond. People who are happpy with a product aren’t the ones typically online talking about it so I can see why most of the reviews are negative. I have always struggled with my weight since puberty. After I had my son in 2001 I had a lot of cellulite and stretch marks. I tried dieting and exercising but I wasn’t able to get the weight and inches off. After two weeks on VelaShape with one treatment I lost 5 pounds and was able to buy a size down on jeans! My body looks and feels healthier. Now my belly is smoother and the cellulite is not as prominent. I would highly recommend this treatment to anyone that is looking to smooth their bodies and reduce cellulite and stretch marks, when diet and exercise alone isn’t working. I am really happy with my results and am hopeful to be able to go down another jean size before the treatments are done.

Char: I really really wanted to like my results with Velashape, because it was definitely a significant investment that i made. ANd i will say, that like some of you, i did notice an improvement immediatley following a Velashape treatment, like within about 1 week after treatment. But then it seemed that the cellulite and flab came back, and it would only tighten up again after another treamtment. i mean, i guess its a nice thing to do if you have a specific day that you want to look good in a swimsuit, but i think i was looking for something that would last longer. sigh.

laura: I paid 1000$ for 12 treatments and the results were nothing! It was painful and I had before and after photos taken and even the service provided admitted to me there was not change in my dimples. I had my thighs and buttocks treated with no change after 12 VelaShape treatments.

Dana: I paid 1400.oo for 6 VelaShape sessions. I saw nothing but at the end alot of pain, she turn the machine up as high as it would go. It burned me I had blisters for two weeks than they started to bust and scab over. I’m so upset. Never Never do it…I saved up to do this and to see nothing.

jillian: What’s the difference between Velashape and Synergie? They sound very similar to me and I think Synergie is less expensive, right?

Vanessa M: I had a 30 minute treatment done on my stomach. Since I’ve lost 70 lbs in the past year, my skin is flabby on the lower part of my stomach. After just the one treatment($150 for 30 minutes), I can definitely see my skin has tightened. I am excited excited to return for another 2 or 3 treatments. I must have a high pain tolerance because I fell asleep during the treatment. And I noticed only slight bruising around belly button.

Kristen: Well I’ve been looking into Velashape because I’m interested in trying it. The woman who will be doing it for me said she had it done on her stomach, and while it hurt for her she said it was a “good hurt” and was happy with the results. My insurance covers cosmetic treatment so I figure WHY NOT! If the cost is really the only downfall and maybe a little bit of pain for some people then I am all for trying it

Lori: Just make sure you’re getting treated by a VelaShape certified (trained) provider– more than 3 million successful treatments have been performed, and many clinical studies have proven results. This is not a diet, nor is it for seriously overweight people–nor does it take the place of a diet. It’s specifically for healthy people who are near their desired weight, and have a body mass index (BMI) of less than 30. See Velashape.com

Elsa: I loved it! I just had a baby and need a little ego booster. It is a little expensive, but worth the $. I seen results after the 1st treatment (like a mini butt lift). I notice a difference on my tummy the very next day and they tell you you will see results within 24-48 hours and all the way up to 6-8 weeks. It was a bit uncomfortable, but tolerable. I didn’t have bruising, just warmth afterwards. The technician was always accomodating. I wish I would have done it sooner! P.S.: It also smoothed out ugly lumps on my stomach from bad lipo. I am happy!

Cecelia: I am 54 and work out regularly with a trainer. My problem areas are lower abs and thighs. I dont know why any of you are paying so much but, not only did I pay much less, I am also receiving laser skin tightening and micorderm. The Vela Shape is very tolerable and more tolerable with each treatment. It does feel like a heat massage. If it gets too hot, tell your technician and she will adjust. The discomfort is only present at the moment the device is in contact with your skin and that is only in certain areas. The pain/discomfort is NOT lasting. I did bruise, but I bruise easily. The bruising goes away and there is NO pain/discomfort immediately after each treatment. I like the Vela Shape; it can be relaxing. The girls at American Laser are awesome and I look forward to seeing them every visit. I have seen results in that the cellulite on my legs has subsided and my legs have become smoother. My abdomen has had results, as well. Because we want to be perfect and look good (we are our own worse critics) I think it is harder for us to see the results. Vela Shape is not plastic surgery nor is it a weight loss program. So many people go thru the pain and expense of plastic surgery and I feel this is a safer and less expensive option. But you cannot expect results like you would get with a tummy tuck. If you do your research, find the right licensed facility and technician and are realistic about what VelaShape is for and you expectations as far as restuls, I would recommend this procedure. Breath thru the pain, girls. It is really no big deal and short lived.

nayri: I have just finished 3 of my 8 sessions to the thigh area and I am very happy with the results. The first time was a bit uncomfortable, but both the 2nd and 3rd were fine. Typically you bruise in areas with the most fat and loose skin. I am not going to a chain (American Laser Centers), but to a smaller medical spa, which I would recommend over a corporate chain. They care more about the individual client, and I did this after having a terrible experience with laser hair removal from a chain. I think the main point is to manage your expectations – if you are very overweight or your cellulite is really bad, this is not for you. If it is a matter of toning and SMALL circumference reduction, this will work for you.

Anonymous: Velashape is a BIG WASTE OF MONEY! Save your money for smartlipo. I went to the American Laser Center for this treatment and what a disappointment. I paid for two different areas the ab and the saddlebag areas and there has been no difference. I had 12 treatments. what a dissapointment. Make sure they can show you before and after photos. They had only one photo to show and it was not even from a woman in this area. They do not know what they are doing. There was no doctor available just a lot of young girls. I will know better and do more research before I waste my money again. – VelaShape

RMO: What a waste of money! I am in good enough shape, but just wanted to tone up. Should have been an easy fix . . . nothing. Not even a fraction of an inch. Don’t bother. – VelaShape

Anonymous for "Beth": This message is for “Beth”, who works at a clinic. Are there criteria and/or training/certification required in order to operate a Velashape machine? Have you ever seen or heard of on-contact burns from the machine, and if so, what why would this happen? Is it part of protocol to turn off the machine if it is not in use for a certain amount of time, and if so, what is the timeframe? Can you direct me to finding this info. somewhere, or any additional info., if you cannot answer these questions? Your response would be very helpful, and appreciated… thanks in advance.

Kathy: I just finished a 10-week course on the back of my thighs that cost $1200 and am overall very happy with the results. I am 32 years old and probably 10-15 pounds over my ideal weight, but have had problems with cellulite on the back of my legs for years. The good: I DEFINITELY see results. I lost 1 inch of circumference around my thighs and my skin is much, much smoother. I had quit wearing shorts entirely and now have the confidence to wear shorts and skirts again. The bad: it is an utter LIE that this is not painful. It’s very painful for the first 3-4 procedures, and becomes only slightly uncomfortable after that. I didn’t know if I’d be able to make it through the first procedure, it was so shockingly uncomfortable. It does NOT feel like just a “deep tissue massage” like they claim. And I’ve always been someone who I thought had a relatively high tolerance for pain. Overall: The results were worth the discomfort and cost to me. The improved appearance of my thighs has given me more self-confidence and allowed me to enjoy the benefits of shorts and skirts again! I’d do it all over again.

Karlus: My personal experience with Velashape is that it does not work. I paid $1600 and was even given 4 extra treatments for free and the most that happened for me was that there were times the wand was so very pinchy and hot I came out of the treatment red & more swollen. Measurements would fluctuate up or down 1-3 inches and by the next visit we were back where we started and I work out. It may work for some but did not work for me and I am 5ft 5in 155lbs. I am 43, mot a bad eater and previously competed in body build competitions adhering to very strict diets which I incorporated into my daily habits at the start of the treatments.

Carol: DO NO WASTE YOU MONEY LADIES!!!!! I just received my fourth treatment of Velashape and I still see no difference in my problem areas. I certainly wish that I had found this website and read all of the negative comments before throwing away $2,ooo. Regarding American Laser Centers, isn’t it interesting how you have to purchase your treatment package up front and they will not refund your money, but will exchange for other treatments. Wow…….do I feel like a big dummy!

Velashape Rocks: I’m 5′8 and 135lbs.and i run 2to3 times a week. I tried velashape for the first time 2wks. ago. I noticed results on the front and side of my thighs after the first treament. I had my second treatment today and my results are awesome. I’m receiving my treatments at American Laser. My technician is faboulous. I signed up for four treatments at $175 per session. I’m so suprised at all the negativity. It is not for weight loss. I workout 4 to five five times a week and eat fairly healthy. I just had stuborn cellulite on my thighs that would not budge. I’m extremely happy. I read this blog first before I went to American Laser and I’m happy that I did not let all the negative feedback discourage me. If anyone out there want to try Velashape, but have read all this negativity try it for yourself and see if it works for you.

Juie: I am currently having Velashape treatments. I had smartlipo on my stomach and sides, but I was left with a few small lumps on my stomach. My surgeon recommended the Velashape and is giving me the treatments free of charge I am having 6. I have not experienced the pain that is being talked about here. It is a warm sensation I have actually enjoyed my sessions. I have thought it so good, I’m paying for 6 treatments on my legs and buttocks as I was told it was good for cellulite as well. I can already see a big difference in the cellulite and I am really pleased. I sam surprised reading on this website that you all think its for weight loss. I am told that if you want weightloss you need to have lipo, that this is only for body contouring and cellulite. The lady that does my treatment constantly checks that everything is okay, I can honestly say the treatment on my inner thighs is a bit uncomfortable, but its not anything that I can’t put up with. I have the treatment on full for my stomach sides and back and one down on my legs. If you are thinking about having it done – go for it. As for cost, you all seem to be paying a lot of money. It is costing me

AR: Just paid $3400 at ALC for 36-54 treatments – backs and fronts of thighs, inner thighs, abs, hips, and butt. Got a 15 min free sample treatment on backs of thighs and did not hurt much or bruise. I’m hoping I wasn’t suckered by the before and after photos at the center… I am 5′7″ and 140 lbs, fairly toned but just hate going to the gym. I bike, blade, ski – eat well, etc… and I would say I’m a pretty active person. They told me I was an ideal candidate (but wouldn’t they say that to everyone??). I’m desperate and I think THAT is what makes me the ideal candidate… Here is a tip – if you take the financing option the clinic will end up paying 20% to the financing company so try to get a discount for paying cash. I got an additional $600 off that way. I still believe it will work for me so I’m going to go through with it. Keep you posted!! I did get great results with the laser hair removal (totally different service, I know) so they have some credibility in my eyes. However, they did tell em the results would last and now I have found out from the Velashape website that routine maintenance is necessary. I just don’t know what to think but I have thrown good money after bad at different gyms, diet plans, and personal trainers too so why not try this?? I appreciate all the feedback about finding a good tech. I will definitely make sure the one they have at this clinic knows what she is doing!

Lauren: I had liposuction on my legs years ago. It left my legs badly rippled and the fat moved up to my abdomen, back and arms so I had liposuction on all of those areas too. My whole body was rippled. I am not fat. I work out daily. I eat good food combinations and a very healthy diet. I was excited about doing VelaShape. I was told it would permanently smooth out all the ripples on my legs, abdomen, arms and back. I signed on for 8 treatments of each area and was comped another 6. That’s 14 treatments. I have been disgusted with the whole process. It is painful, time consuming and a huge waste of $5,400. My before and after pictures look the same. I am sick that I gave them so much of my very hard earned money. I was desperate. They lied about the results I should expect. I got absolutely nothing from those excruciating treatments and I am sick about it, really sick. – VelaShape

Stephaniek: I’m not sure why everyone is having such a terrible time with this procedure. I’m 2 treatments in on a package of 6 that I paid $500 for and have had virtually no pain. Once or twice the laser got a little hot but I just told the tech and she changed areas. I bruise extremely easily and have yet to receive any bruises from the Velashape. I already see results and still have 4 treatments left. I am extremely happy with the results. I am 5′10″, 155 lbs and am having my butt/thigh area treated. I’m not sure if some of these people just have unrealistic expectations, or if they have improperly trained technicians but my overall expreience has been exactly what I’ve expected. I’m looking forward to my next 4 treatments!!

Xiomara: I paid for it and I had 8 sections. It did not work for me. My cellutite looked worse. – VelaShape

Ginger: I first want to say that most of the thumbs down are from people that have never even tried Vela and just “think” it sounds bad or too pricey. That’s not a fair comment. I could go give a thumbs down to every product on here because I thought it wasn’t for me and it would be wasting everyone’s time and just make those products/services look worse than they really are. That being said, I just had my second Vela procedure done today. I had my stomach and sides done 5 days ago and my thighs tonight. Yes it IS painful. Hello?!? Seriously, what do we get done to make ourselves beautiful that isn’t painful? I researched Brazilian waxing before I did that and watched a few dozen videos on Youtube of women screaming (and even one man). I was scared but really wanted it done so I did it and guess what? I didn’t (and still don’t) feel the need to scream. It’s not as bad as people have said. When I wanted to get a microderabrasion, I looked online and saw a bunch of bad reviews from people… “It caused rosachea<-sp?”, “My face peeled for a week.” “It was really painful.” Whatever! It’s uncomfortable yes, but so worth it. So, even all of these thumbs down on here (especially since most of them are from idiots that give false negative feedback) won’t stop people from trying it if they really want to. One thing I have learned in life is that more people are willing to talk about the negative than the positive. Those that loved their Vela treatments are out talking to people and enjoying life instead of complaining about it online. My stomach is toner after one treatment and I’m looking forward to seeing it after the 4. I say go for it. Some things are worth the $. American Laser Clinic will give you a free demo before you pay a load of money anyway.

Michelle: My husband and I were offered a free seesion of the Velashape as I really wanted to tone an area as did he, I am 5′6″, 120 pds and have been working out twice a week for 4 months but still have “cottage cheese” look to my legs and butt so I want to smooth that out, I must say the session went well, the heat felt really good and the massaging only hurt a couple times after she stayed in one area for a very long time, other than that I think it felt like a massage. The next day my bum looks like someone beat me, it is very bru*sed but my thighs are just fine, I did have the runs all day the day after and a couple times I would check on my backside and it almost looked deflated which made me nervous but that has gone away. So my initial session was fine with little results. As for my hubby he did his love handles, he said the wand got hot for him a couple of times in which he would tell her and she would move it, he had the r*ns the next day as well. Neither of us see real notable results but that was only one session, we are both not sure if we want to really throw that much money at a procedure of that cost. But if you have the money and just need to tone an area i feel this may do the trick and that is all it is good for.

Jordana: I have used the Velashape and have found it to be wonderful. It all depends on the technician you have. I have also done the treatment in Canada which requires more screening then in the US….maybe that makes a difference, don’t know! I just had twins and find the treatment to really be working on my belly. It’s too bad soooo many people had a bad experience with Velashape!!

CanadianOnt: I tried VelaShape last summer and it actually toned my thighs and visibly reduced cellulite after 6 45min-1hr treatments. I bought a package of 12 1 hr treatments for $1600 with the option of breaking it up into 30 min or 60 min sessions. My target areas were my thighs… sometimes I would go in and do 30 on the front, and 30 on the rear thigh/butt. Naturally I am very petite and work out often but have thick thighs and butt. I am now starting to use the rest of my package after the fall/winter season because Ive lost the majority of my results even though I did two random 30 min sessions for upkeep over the winter(probaly wasnt enough). Although the complete results dont last forever, I think I will be keeping up with it every spring just to be ready for the summer months since it is cheaper, less invasive than the other methods and did look great for quite awhile. I should have probaly stuck with a diet and drank more water but i didnt. With regards to the pain during treatment, It must have something to do with the person performing Vela on you. I found the treatments to be enjoyable although they do feel uncomfortably warm at times. When it feels too hot, I tell the girl and she moves to the area beside it, returning later. Also keep in mind they have 3 levels for the intensity of the machine for the ‘grabbing’ part. Halfway through my treatments I became comfortable with the third level and was able to withstand more hot passes on a single area. If thats where they start then you wont be a happy camper. And throughout ALL of my treatments I think I suffered one very small bruise, but that may be because I encourage my operator to perform max intensity and push myself to last with the heat as long as I can. And just one more note, im not praising the vela, i wouldnt pay any more for it. I did expect the results to be more drastic but ive never done anything like this before and probaly had silly expectations. For the results I received I was still happy with it.

Jeni: ive had 1 treatment 2 days ago and it didn’t hurt or burn like others say. Although I can see how it might if 1. you the person is too fat and 2. the person doing it isn’t trained. But it was very uncomfortable with the suction part, which can leave hickie marks, but none on me. Then the wand with the lazer would heat up, but she would turn it down each time I said it was too hot. No marks on me, didn’t hurt later, nothing. I was told to drink a lot of water to help flush out the toxins and fat, which I did and I felt great all day. The next day I felt as if I just had a good workout, but nothing more. So I don’t know why people are having trouble? It’s my 1st treatment on my thighs/saddle bag area, and I was told to wait till the 2nd visit to see a change. But I know my body and it is already small, I can feel it when i touch my thighs. I am 5′7 – 129lbs and am skinny everywhere else except the back of my legs/saddle bags. She said I am the perfect person for this machine as I don’t need to loose weight, just tone a small area. I will let you know how its going each week after my treatments, next one is this Mon

Monica: I’ve had the velashape treatments done at American Laser Center. Expensive and painful and…..well worth the money. I was going on vacation and have never looked better in my bathing suit. I’m an avid jogger and yogi but could never decrease my cellulite. This is the only thing i’ve ever found that works! After a year i’m seeing that I need some maintenance treatments and will definitely pony up the cash to do so. Expect to be bruised and really not enjoy the process, also jog your butt off after the treatment. Totally worth it.

Michele: I have to agree with the people who have seen good results. This is a great procedure for someone who is not overweight and wants to reduce the cellulitic appearance of fat cells while tightening the skin. If you have a good technician this is a great treatment and not invasive. I was not uncomfortable or bruised but a little red for a few hours. I lost 2 inches off my waistline after the first session. The results will last as long as you stick with a healthful diet and exercise plan and don

Ami: I got the treatment done last month, 8/30. Got bruises all over my upper arms…no big deal, healed within a week. The big deal was the b*rns on my upper inner thigh, a really deep 2nd degree b*rn. Today is 9/25 and I still have the 2nd degree b*rn wound from this treatment, not heaing, will definitely leave a sc*r. DON’T DO IT!!!!

diane: I now have deep scars above both knees! What’s worse is that I paid a thousand dollars for each one! To Ginger who thinks some of us are whining, I can’t wear shorts when it’s 100 degrees out any more, I can’t wear dresses that I loved, I cancelled my vacation with friends to The Four Seasons in Scottsdale because I can’t wear a swinsuit. I am happy for people who had a good experience and wish I was one of them but for those of you who haven’t done it here is a warning… I suffered through painful blisters and open wounds that took months to heal and now have a two and a half inch scar on one leg and a half inch round scar on another.

KC: I am a Master Medical Aesthetician and perform Velashape treatments on my patients. Your Technician and their practice should have made you aware that bruising is a possibility if you have the propensity to bruise easily. You could try and make sure you’re not using NSAIDs or other oral medications or herbs that make you more prone to bruising. Also, some areas are more tender than others. I have noticed the inner thigh is tender in some patients. The Manufacturer protocols compel the technician performing your treatment to use a skin thermometer so they can monitor the heat building in your skin. This way, I have never burned a patient and only had one with some bruising and she informed me she bruises easily she had bruising on other areas of her body. I have many happy patients from this procedure. They are so pleased with their results that they purchase additional series for different zones. I urge anyone to select carefully their provider. This is a great treatment and right now with the economy as it is, most practices are discounting their services so you can try them. Hope this helps! KC

FitDiva: I am very surprised and dismayed at all the comments. I am so sorry everyone has had such painful encounters but have to echo the few sentiments of the pro-velashapers. The costs you all are talking about are insane. I actually got a deal through Living Social 2 treatments for $180 and then it was run again so I ended up with 4 sessions for $360. I am an avid weight lifter but had lipo many years ago which left sc*r tissue that made me look a bit lumpy. After my first session which to me felt like no more than a deep tissue massage with hot stones and actually relaxing I could see the skin smooth out immediately. The technician warned that the next day it might feel like I had done a 1000 sit-ups but that was a good thing, and she was right it felt just like I had done an intense ab workout. She also stated basd on some other comments regarding having to go to the bathroom that it is a lymphatic drain*ge massage and that if you see a green sl*dge or are going to the bathroom often it is releasing the fat and/or toxins from the body. Also my technician constantly used a thermometer to monitor the heat from my skin during the session. Sounds like many of you received poor care and advice.

Leticia: 9/2011 I had a series of four treatments of Vela Shape performed by a certified doctor, the treatments were performed according to their timeline and followed all instructions. After paying $1,000 for this p*inful procedure to tighten skin and smooth areas of the thighs, nothing changed, absolutely no improvement! I am fit, work out regularly and eat healthy. This procedure is p*inful and does not deliver the results claimed by the doctors and company. Contact the FDA, they need to investigate false advertising. It is a rip-off!

danielle: DO NOT DO VELASHAPE! I Thought I would try this to lose some belly flab and let me tell u how terr*bly pa*nful this procedure is. It left my stomach severly bru*sed all over…at least 12 bru*ses that i counted and very pa*nful not to mention a waste of money. I thought I was willing to do anything to lose few inches and now I’m more than happy to just up my cardio and lose it the old fashioned way! It pinched and felt like it was burn*ng me. This cannot be healthy at all! Save yourself, your money and time!

anne: I read these comments after signing up. I paid $1600 for 9 sessions and they begin on March 20th. I am 5 3″ 145lbs and fairly in shape. I have cellulite on the back of my thighs and embarassed to wear shorts. I will provide updates as sessions continue! I hope it works

VelaShape

VelaShape is a clinic based body sculpting system created by Syneron Beauty, an Irvine, California based company that reportedly specializes in creating non invasive skincare and body sculpturing procedures. Their systems are usually designed to reduce and/or remove cellulite, wrinkles, fatty deposits, and body hair. VelaShape is their body toning system, which can reportedly reshape and slim the user’s body by toning problem areas, and removing fatty deposits and cellulite. They suggest that many clients see results within four sessions. Let’s see what this system involves and how it works.

 System
The VelaShape system uses Elos technology, which is often called revolutionary by this developer due to the fact that it combines the benefits of several different weight loss and toning modalities into one system. Elos Technology combines Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF) and Infrared Light Energy technology, while also including the benefits of vacuum based techniques and mechanical massage.

 Price
In general, the VelaShape series can cost anywhere from $1500 to $2000, depending upon the city you live in and the provider you choose. From time to time the VelaShape offers price breaks and other special deals. Currently, they are posting a coupon for a free session on their site. They also have a clinic finder to assist potential clients with finding a center near them.

 Qualities
According to the VelaShape website, this system heats the skin so that fatty deposits are broken down and liquefied by increasing the metabolic energy in the areas being cared for so that they can be removed by the body through the lymphatic system. The fat “melting” effect is reportedly due to their use of the Elos Technology, which we outlined above, and the lymphatic drainage is said to be expedited by the use of vacuum and massage techniques.

 Final Facts
According to VelaShape’s developers, throughout the course of the procedure clients will experience a significant reduction in cellulite and fatty deposits, while also seeing a very real change in the smoothness and tightness of their skin. Reportedly, VelaShape has been vetted for both safety and effectiveness, as the company points to a multi center clinical study in which participants reported a 1cm to 7.2cm change in the size of their thighs at the end of the VelaShape Series. The company posts this information, as well as videos and a clinic finder on their website. More information on VelaShape can be found by visiting an official website.
