Patty Sue: I bought the product 3 years ago. I had no problem with the company and got all my materials. I ordered the vitamins and cancelled my order and had no problem. Maybe it is because I ordered my kit so long ago. I dug the kit out from under my bed this fall. I started the diet on Sept. 22, 2010. Have have lost 60 pounds. I have/had alot of weight to lose I knew I was not going to change my body in only 6 weeks. I am still following the plan, and have not have much problem with plateaus. Last weeks weight loss was 6 pounds, what you would expect in the starting weeks of weight loss and here I am 6 months into it.

Here I go Again: I have been on the diet for a week and have already lost 7 lbs. The diet is pretty restrictive…I mean how many ways can you could chicken and fish? I hope I can stick to it for 12 weeks, because I have to lose up to 70 lbs. Many of you who have posted that this program is expensive need to realize that $150. is nothing compared to health problems that come with not losing weight. I have also tried many diets and have had to pay more for pills and gimmicks that didn’t work. Will check in at the end of my first 6 weeks.

TLWhite: All I can say is BE CAREFUL. Like everyone else, I responded to their Infomercial and called to order the materials. During the order process the rep’ offered the monthly “coaching” service at $59.99 p/month. I informed the rep that the Infomercial made it seem that the “coaching” was included in the purchase – she said “No, only a 2 week period of coaching was included.” I informed her that this seemed misleading and that I did NOT want the monthly “coaching” service. So, I received the materials about a week after the order and began the process of reading thru’ and adjusting my schedule / groceries to adapt to the program. In the process of paying my credit card in the 3rd week after receipt of materials, I noticed a “Pending” transaction of $59.99 from 6 week body makeover. Called the number and spoke with Griselda, informing her that I had specifically REFUSED their “coaching” service and would not pay this charge. Griselda agreed to cancel the subscription but claimed she couldn’t withdraw the charge against my account and couldn’t issue a credit … instead she offered me 2 months of free “coaching” services, which I also refused. Got off the phone with Griselda and immediately sent an e-mail to their customer service department complaining of this tactic and informed them that since I don’t do business with unethical merchants, I would be returning the entire set of materials and would expect their refund to my account. Also immediately filed a dispute with my credit card company. I’ll be posting this on every blog I can find so that potential buyers are on the alert to this tactic.

Lisa87: I tried to order on-line (Saturday) but their site was under construction. So I called. Lillian ignored my complaint about the website and immediately asked for my credit card number. I’m never skeptical, but she was persistent enough that I decided I needed to do some more research. I contacted a customer service number that she gave me, but the voice mail message claimed to be closed after normal business hours or in a meeting if calling during normal business hours. As I was surfing the net – and perusing blogs such as these – I received a phone call from customer service… today…Saturday! Hmm, thought they didnt have Saturday hours (the voice mail clearly said Mon-Fri). Even more peculiar – I never gave them my number. What on earth kind of business runs this way? My guess is it’s the kind that a big joke. Save your money. From the blogs it look like we need to lay of the salt, eat small portions of fresh foods including lots of veggies. Samll meals, more often. I know it’s exciting to see something that might be a solution for our problem, but as much as I need help, I plan to make deicsions based on logic, not emotions. Run from these people!

Anonymous: joker37–Many negative comments on this site. All I can say is that my wife started on the program in the middle of May, 2011 & has lost over 70 pounds todate. What can I say, not all persons follow the eating instructions to the letter. Then too, did they pick the correct body type? I think some persons don’t want to admit that they are not only fat, but obese! Never had any problems with billing…Were we lucky? Who knows….To rap it up, it worked for us!

Laura: I am about 4 weeks along and have lost 12 pounds. I should be closer to 15 or 16, but Thanksgiving came around and I cheated for a couple days. Ten of the days in this four week period I was also traveling for work. Now I’m back on track. I have only walked on the treadmill about 4 times and still I am losing the weight. I have been very surprised at how fast you start losing the weight. In the first week I lost 6 lbs – and I only started off at 163. The biggest struggle is being around people that eat “normal” food. But in the end, each time you put food in your mouth, it is a choice – and if you are truly dedicated to this, then you make the healthy choice. Reading above, I see some people have made comments that “I don’t have time for this”. In all reality, anyone can make the time for this. Boil or grill a chicken breast and bam, you have protein for three meals. Same thing with fish. Or open a can of tuna and there is protein for two meals. As for veggies, a quick fix is baby carrots or grab some spinach lettuce.

Theresa: I have never had a problem with this plan or its employees. I did the plan starting July 2, 2010 and by November I had lost 68 lbs. I am not sure why others seem to have problems with representatives, but I never have. If you work the plan, it will work for you. I lost 25 lbs in the first 6 weeks. I alos dropped 3 sizes. I did not exercise, except for some walking about 2x a week. I would recommend this program to anyone.

Sheridan: My body did not change after 6 weeks. I liked some of the exercises and the menu is fine, I think it will take about a year for me to get the body I want though. Six Week Body Makeover just was not good for my needs I guess.

I was able to get through the six weeeks without quitting, even though the weight loss was moderate. It felt good just to finish something for once. lorrie: Well, I know that I am a body type 2, and I think I am sticking to the 6 Week Body Makeover, only i am not sure whether my portion sizes are correct..I think i might be eating to much of everything, still. tonya: I tried the six week bodymakeover and lost 18lbs the first 9 days. I was so excited but then it was that time of the month, and I did not loose any more, even after that time of the month was over. So I quit it. WHY? Because I hated it. You can have no processed foods, no salt, no butter, or subistutes. You eat 6 times a day. No bread, pasta, or rice during the six weeks. You can have veggies, but different body types can have a better selction, example: I could not have corn and it is my favorite.I could have a baked potatoe plain, no salt, or butter or anything. And You can not have dairy products: milk, cheese. And this is expensive because you have to buy fresh meats and veggies, on top of the cost of the product. And I am a very picky eater so I ate the same thing all the time….chicken. Only certern body types can eat red meat. You can have fish and certen ones can have pork, but i don’t eat fish or pork. So I don’t think anyone will enjoy it. I know I didn’t.

melissa: I have about 40 pounds to lose and figured I could send it back in six weeks if I didn’t see results they say you could lose 30 pounds so I was hating my body after my five children and there was a set of twins in there too boot. I stuck to the plan and lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Then it started to get boring eating the same foods but I am no cook so I didn’t try much. So I tweaked it a little and ate better but not so strickly and kept losing weight! Weird but it worked for me and the first thing I noticed was my belly fat was leaving! No more bulging out of my shirts and my pooch has gone done a ton! So hey I like it.

Katy: I read all the posts on here and I’m quite shocked. Most of the negative reviews come from people who either haven’t tried the plan, didn’t read what the plan involves or cheated on the plan. I only ordered this because there was a money back gauratee. The 6WBM states you can lose 30lbs in 6 weeks. I lost 28 1/2lbs in the first month. I have a lot of weight to lose so I know it will take me a long time to take it all off. A lot longer than 6 weeks. I measure and way my portions and prepare my meals a couple of days in advance. It was difficult the first week, but after that it I got used to it. I posted a blog on my myspace for all my friends to see and each week I weigh in and blog it. This plan is for people who are ready to make a permanent change in their lives. I recommend this to everybody. I love what I’m eating and I love the results.

denny: just received the six week makeover and being a health professional i looked up the values for the diet as listed. this is no miracle diet it is a 900 – 1000 calories a day diet with 40gram of Carbs, and 45 min of aerobic exercise 5x per week. its pretty intense so you’d better lose weight – let’s be real ,weight watchers or a plain diabetic diet gives you a lot more options. what a scam.

Tiffany: Two years ago during the summer I ordered the SWBM. I was so excited to see it arrive, I ran to the TV, opened the box and tried to get started with my plan. Boy, there was a lot of things to do and organize… At that moment I said “Well I will just do it later”. Well, later came that next summer when ZI stepped on the scale at a friends house and it quickly ran up to 360lbs. I knew then it was time to dig Michael Thurmond out of the garage and give the SWBM a try. The hardest part about the actual material was putting it all together. I had papers everywhere. But finally, there it was… my SWBM book. Customized by me, for me. I was really proud of myself. I cooked all my food on Sundays for the whole week. The first week I lost 11lbs. During the 6 week course I lost down to 320lbs. I felt so much better!! I only wish to God that I had stayed on it. But like some of you, I convinced myself that it was just too hard and the SWBM wasn’t right for me. But you know what, it was me that wasn’t right for me. As americans we have become lazy. We are not use to hard work and dedication, which is exactly what this program is!! I know I didn’t gain 360lbs in 6 weeks and chances are, im not going to lose 360lbs in 6 weeks either. Harriet: As much as I would love to believe I could lose 40 lbs in 6 weeks with this program, I know it isn’t possible. Currently I am in week 3 and have not lost anything. Maybe a pound, but it’s hard to say, and nothing to be proud of anyway. Some of these recent comments almost convinced me it would be worth it, but I am really more interested in a program that will cause me to gain the weight back once I stop. I need something that will last for life and I can tell already that this is not even helping me get the weight off, so how will it ever stay off? This one is not right for me.

Samantha: I have seen the show Extreme Makeover and the Info-mercials for the 6 wk. program on t.v. and have been wanting to try this. The only thing that has stopped me is the amount of work i know will be involved (actually following it and doing what it says)!! Jane: The SWBM was very difficult to stay on for so long; certainly not a ‘normal way of life’. If you return the pkg, make sure to get tracking for it. I returned mine 4 months ago and “it got lost”. Tracking proved they rec’d it and my refund will be issued; 5 months after they rec’d it. The company steals your money unless you can prove tracking. They ought to be ashamed! I’m still fuming!!

Sweetliz: Well I did the program 7 years ago and my body went back to the size waist that I was as a teenager but now with one more child and more demanding job, I did not have much luck because it is hard to cook those foods that does not have salt and cook for the family, so I had to stop. But now I changed jobs and so I am definitely going to try it again because I know it works and 2 other friends of mine lost weight on it too but mostly the energy you get is awesome.

chris: Seriously peoples…..half of these comments are just plain dumb!! ………. “It’s too hard” “I have to read?” “It takes work”…………… Get real people……a “diet” takes work and commitment. Do you think that supermodels and movie stars just eat what they want and sit around their house? NNNNOOOOOO!!!!! Most of them have personal trainers that get their @#$%’s out of bed and into the gym and give them a specific diet. Most of us cannot afford personal trainers or dietitions. so we buy a program and “if” we stick with it we “will” see results. Cat: I haven’t started it yet, but will do so next week. I have a couple of friends who did the 6 week program and had great results. One lost 30 pounds and the other lost 20. You have to remember that you have to follow the diet correctly in order to see results. Also it is very important to measure your food rather than guessing the portion size. Some people have negative feed back on this product but I honestly think that their portions sizes were wrong and they may not have followed the diet strictly. Also along with the diet you need to exercise. Sorry, most of us aren’t blessed with fast metabolisms and have to work out and eat right to have a nice body.

Amanda: I have done this before 3 years ago, both my boyfriend and I did it together and WE had AMAZING RESULTS…. I was expensive for us b/c we had to buy fresh food almost every day b/c of lack of space in freezer and fridge in apartment. High blood pressure runs in both our family so the low.. I mean darn near no sodium factor made us happy. We REALISTICALLY didn’t expect to TRANSFORM our bodies in 6 weeks but we both lost over 10 lbs!! We are doing it again b/c we have more freezer and fridge space and there is a cookbook now w/ more recipes!!! karen: I tried the Michael Thurmond diet several years ago, and it worked! I can’t believe some of the lame brain comments people are posting who have not even tried the program. Duh. You mean I have to read? You mean I have to exercise? You mean I have to work? Duh. I would rather do my bicep curls lifting Fritos to my lips!! Hope you are all enjoying your fat hips!! Yes, It did take a bit of time to put my personalized plan together. I lost weight and felt the best that I ever felt!! That in itself was worth the diet, never mind losing ten pounds and keeping it off for many years. Other benefits- taking out certain carbs and feeling terrific made me realize that I was wheat glutten sensitive. Taking out a lot of dairy made the “bloat” go away. The only negatives that I found was that the food choices for your body type get a bit boring and redundent.It also takes some prep time to get ready for your next day or days. I typically prepared two to three days of meals on Sunday evening and then again midweek. However, I plan on going back to the diet now that menopause,stress and hormone changes are causing me to gain some weight back. The energy and the way I felt on this diet will make me go back and do this again. Oh, I bought the diet on HSN. I felt that I could return through them and it was a “safer” way to purchase the plan. The woman said you do not need all the extra products but they are just suggested. I then decided to do it again. so was supposed to pay $19.95 per month for 5 months. this would INCLUDE shipping. I read blogs and cancelled order next day. The company charged my credit card $49.95!!!! I have disputed it and all will be ok but just be aware of this. You will be charged more then you agreed too. marcie: I have been doing the swbm for the past four days although I have already lost 3lbs I don’t know if i will be able to stick with it I am a B so I don’t have much choices of food. I can’t eat any sodium, sugar, or much starches. Although it is working I am hungry all day just waiting for the next 3 hours for the next meal it seems all I do is think of food. You can loose weight but it is a very strict program you have to abide by.

Trisha: To KAREN, CHRIS, and others: What’s with all the anger? You have nothing better to do than go on a diet website and take shots at the “fat hips” of struggling dieters? Geez, maybe next you should go beat up an old lady! I mean, i don;t understand, we’re supposed to be supporting each other here. Ok, I agree that maybe remarks about “having to read” seem a bit lame, but at the same time, maybe this is an overall frustration at the fact that this diet is impractical and doesn’t fit a lot of people’s busy lives. Brenda39: I am new to the 6WBM, but I have so far had a good experience. I ordered the program on-line and recieved it with 2-3 weeks (Just as promised.)It was only billed once to my credit card and so far I have not had any extra charges. We ordered the buddy kit so my husband and I could do it together. Our intro DVD’s do not work great, however the instructions were printed in the intro manual that said “1 START HERE” so it was not too hard to put together. I was missing a few pages of my book (living lean section) and the company is sending that section. I have dealt with many companies and none of that was unusual. I called the company and they quickly responded to my problem. They were very courteous also. As for the price, try any of the programs that offer tasty “premade” food and you pay $200-$300 a month. Weight Watchers has an entry fee and a weekly fee. Even if it is $5, that is over $250 a year.So we did not think it was that expensive.As for learning how to do the plan, my husband spent a couple of hours reading (a lot less time than going to a weight watchers or TOPS meeting)and we had a good understanding of what to do. We have been experimenting with the foods, especially adding “free” foods to what we are eating. (These are in the recipes under “using food to lose fat”) We then made a list of all the foods under the classification so that we could cook more easily and add variety to our meals. I have found it very difficult to eat all the food that are listed and have lost 5 lbs. in four days. My husband has not lost but 1 lb., but he says that he feels better. We are starting the exercise portion next week. We are following the program the way it was designed. Easy rules to follow. Be creative. Apply what you can as you can. Once we do the program with exercise, I hope to lose 40 lbs. in the next six weeks.(One third of my goal.) I feel like this is a diet that I can do. I am a busy college student/mother of three preteen/teenagers and have a part-time photography business. I think because I am busy, this program works better for me. I have to make myself plan meals. Our whole family is eating better. If I can do this, anyone can. It is a matter of deciding I don’t want to die because of heart disease or complications of obesity when I am 40. Not all websites say this is a bad program that is why I tried it. As for it being a “scam”, many people are using it to lose weight and finding success. If you don’t try it and you need to lose weight, go to your doctor and ask for help. Don’t give up! Eventually you’ll find one that works…I think I have!!

That’s why I wanted to share that I tried this program and it was okay, but for me, not that great. I saw very moderate results, which was frustrating for al the effort I put into SWBM. I still need to lose about 25 lbs and am searching for a method, whether its a pill or program, something, to help now because, this was not as good as it seemed.

CurvyDIva: I’m just starting my second week of the six week makeover and I’ve lost 11 pounds already. I’ve only exercised one day so far. The hardest part for me so far is eating all the food. I prepare my portions at night to take to work the next day and it seems like as soon as I’m finished eating it’s time to eat again. The real test will be to continue to follow the plan for the next four weeks. I’m excited. My sexy size is a 12…I like my hips and butt….don’t want to lose it all. If you haven’t noticed the infomercials do state that “results may vary”. Stick to the plan!! I will let you know how it worked for me in another four week.

My daughter moved back in with me and needless to say I began eating badly again. I just today pulled out the program again and know that once I set my mind to it, I can do it again and it really did make me feel great! You can’t just sit around on your fat tooshy and wonder why the weight isn’t melting away! Read the materials, put your book together, go to the store and get started! I plan to get a little more creative with the meals this time and will make them ahead of time. I know this works!

Erin: Ok, listen, up: I am not a lazy bum, i don’t want to sit on my “Fat tooshy” and I am willing to commit to a reasonable diet. But the SWBM was NOT a reasonable diet. It is a.) extreme (you can hardly eat ANYTHING for those 6 weeks) b.) Expensive (yeah, try buying nothing but fresh foods, see how much that’s gonna cost at the groc. store) and c.) difficult to maintain long term. I lost 5 lbs in 6 weeks and you know waht? I was so bored with the damn restrictions on this diet that i stopped making good choices as soon as i was done. I have since piled on 14 lbs! This is nothing but temporary deprivation for TEMPORARY results! PS You ladies who insult the rest of us are a disgrace to the overweight community.

msblu/CA: I recently read MIchael Thurmond’s 12 day body makeover book (from my local library), as well as owning a 6wbm kit that a friend gave me 4 years ago because she couldn’t take the time to go through it and was not willing to change her eating habits (she is still morbidly obese). I have used 6wbm before and got amazing results. So now 4 yrs later, I have gained 15# (stress), I plan on doing the 6wbm and make any adjustments to my lifestyle and habits so I can have the end result that I deserve – “To have my health and well being be the best it can be”. If the negative thought patterns, negative behavior, bad habits, restricted conditions, having no plan or no goals and constantly complaining are working for all of you in your lives then good on ya, if not then I must ask you all “How is that working for you in your life?” … Same day … same results? Get a grip people … nothing changes if you don’t shift … Good luck with that and watch out for that train coming at you – btw – last time went down 3 sizes and 45 lbs in 12 weeks – Blessings and success to Michael Thurmond and anyone who takes control of their life!

Kate: The first time I used the program my husband and I both tried it and we lost around 80 pounds between us. He is gone now and I am back on track and trying the program. So far I have finished the first 5 weeks and have lost 20 pounds and over 25 inches overall. The plan is easy to follow and if you use the tools they provide, the food is very good. There are different recipies for the substitution of salt and recipe cards to help make the food more fun. I highly recommed the program…if you follow the instructions, it works…I admit I have cheated on occation and still lose the weight. I still want to lose about 65 more pounds and I know that with this program I WILL be able to do it.

Lianne: I was scammed out of my money with this program, charged 4 times on my credit card for purchases i had not agreed to. I also found this Six Week Body Makeover to be VERY limited. The food choices were deadly boring and it is not a very realistic diet to maintain for the long haul. REAL LIFESTYLE CHANGES are what keeps you thin, people, not 6 week “quick fixes” by credit card thieving charlatans!

Julie: I have been on the 6WBMO for over 34 weeks. I have been able to maintain a 10 lb. loss. I like that you write down everything you eat for every meal; this keeps you honest in what you are really eating. I have changed part of the eating program to suit my lifestyle so that is why I only maintain my weight now. I think the concept is good and I don’t tire of the food choices and prepare everything in bulk and freeze, then take out as I need. You do have to be a disciplined person to continue to lose. I prefer to excercise a lot instead (2.5 hrs. a day) and have more muscle mass which takes up less space than fat. My stomach has always had digestion problems and this diet plan has seemed to tame it down. I didn’t mind paying for the kit, but for those who want to know the bones of the program should just check out the book at the library and go from there. I didn’t care much for the exercise bands and always dreaded doing them each week. Instead I do weight training with 10 lb. dumbells and feel like I get a better workout from them. So if you don’t have discipline, don’t like to walk a lot, hate eating the same types of foods over and over or just can’t keep on track for long periods of time this diet is not for you.

mindy: well, more power to you if you have time to prepare food in bulk, meticulously document everything you put in your mouth, and work out for 2 and 1/2 hours a day, but I do NOT. I have a full time job and 2 kids and my life does not afford me the luxury of focusing on food and exercise all day, not even for 6 weeks. The Six Week Body Makeover was high maintenance, ridiculous and somewhat deceptive because you do have to say on it for more than 6 weeks if you dont want to regain. And you know what? For the long haul of the rest of my life, I don’t like the idea of “eating the same types of foods over and over.” There might be people who love this, but I was certainly not one.

shohinqueen: It worked GREAT…I lost 25 pounds in 6 weeks, not even completely following all the “don’ts” and I’ve even slipped back into some old eating habits for 3 months now & have maintained the weight loss. I am a pet sitter, so walk dogs & wasn’t able to fit any additional exercises into my day…haven’t even tried the exercise bands, but plan to now that my schedule has settled down. I’ve tried a NUMBER of “weight loss” plans and this is by far the best for me & it WORKED when I didn’t think anything could. My only struggle was with the “no added salt” part, but I learned to use lots of interesting vinegars & other spices…AND I prefer eating smaller meals 6 times a day anyway! If you FOLLOW what the plan says to do you WILL LOSE WEIGHT!!

olivia: Well, when I slipped back into my old eating habits, the weight piled on immediately and with a vengeance. It was awful, watching the results go completely down the drain. I agree with those of you who have said that the Six Week Body Makeover teaches you how to do a strict, severe program for a short period of time, rather than a reasonable, sustainable diet long term. This diet completely sucked for me and made my metabolism go haywire, and i would think most people who are on this site would tend to also gain weight easily like i did. i personally found success with South Beach Diet, which is balanced and sane and realistic to keep doing. Six Week Body Makeover is a joke; i want results that will last.

Lysa: I have watched the SWBM informercial about a dozen times and never could really make a committment to buy. I have read all the comments on this program and I have concluded that it might not be for me. It sounds a lot like the Atkins diet where I will be eating the same foods over and over and I quickly tired of that. I have been on weight watchers for 9 months and have lost 45 pounds, but I was thinking that this program might help me see results faster. The program seems more complicated and the food choices are limited. Those of you with success with this program, keep up the good work!

CurvyDiva: I am starting my 5th week on SWBM. I’ve lost 18 pounds so far. It would have been more but I cheated. Yes, I fell off the wagon but got right back on. I’m losing more inches than weight. For the next two weeks I am committed to hitting the gym and not cheat on my plan. I intend to lose at least another 7 pounds for a total of 25 pounds by the end of the sixth week. I like the plan because it gives me a list of foods I can eat in order to lose weight. Now I know what works and what I need to do to get the weight off.

Louise: I have found that if a person eats healthy (no matter which plan they are on) and lose weight, that’s the way it should be. I don’t understand why people get upset that when they go back to unhealthy eating and then blame the “diet” they were on? I think that’s where the “lifestyle changes” come into play. If a person were to eat healthy for life, they will be healthier. I don’t see how a healthy diet can be to blame if it’s not followed. It’s sort of like getting a prescription, putting it on the shelf, not taking it and telling everyone it doesn’t work. Or maybe a person took it for a week, put it back on the shelf, stopped taking it and telling everyone it doesn’t work. Or, how about getting into a car, sitting there, do not start it up and complaining that it doesn’t go anywhere? Not all plans are good or for everyone, but if it’s not used, how can one complain they don’t lose weight? It’s a shame when some are a rip off. I hate poor customer service. Been there done that. I personally had good support from them, but I know that won’t be for everyont. That’s a shame. I tried the 6 week and it worked. After a couple of weeks I wasn’t committed to do it because I wanted my burger and fries, etc. Was that the 6 week’s fault. No. It was mine. A co-worker is committed and daily I see a difference. Yes, daily. She looks less bloated, firmer, happier, etc. I’m going to re-order it and do it. If I don’t do it, I won’t blame the product! I wish the best for everyone. Eating right is not easy. I agree, eating the white stuff is cheaper. I love a glass of milk with cookies. But my husband just cost us thousands and thousands of dollars of medical bills because of his poor eating habits. That’s a no-brainer for me. What ya wanna bet he won’t do it with me? He loves his fried chicken too much. He’ll be the first to complain “you mean I can’t have this or that?” Silly guy. If he wants the acid reflux, go for it. If not, he has to make a lifestyle change. Gotta go. I need to order something for life.

Michelle: Just completed 6 weeks of this diet program and am not too pleased with the results. I did manage to lose a little weight (4 lbs) but wouldn’t say my whole body has been remade or anything. It was very strict, and really not that helpful. Somebody mentioned the food costs…wow! My grocery bill tripled in the past 6 weeks! I hope I can keep these few pounds off, and will be looking for something esle to try to lose more. I will never go back to this one.

sheryl: Louise, I agree with what you’re saying and understand what you mean with those analogies. Of course, you can’t expect a prescription to help you if you don’t take it, and you can’t expect your car to drive unless you start it. But there is one crucial flaw in your analogies. Unlike a prescription or a car, a diet plan is supposed to TEACH you HOW to make wise choices and maintain them. If we KNEW HOW to do it, we wouldn’t need to turn to someone else for guidance. Your prescription is not supposed to teach you how to get well, and your car is not responsible for teaching you how to get from point A to point B. But a diet plan IS supposed to teach you reasonable, sustainable lifestyle habits, and this didn’t, not for me. It was expensive, overly strict and not varied enough for me to want to stick to. And from where i stand, that is a good enough reason to look for something better.

Louise: Sheryl: Your points are well taken! Thanks! I have a problem with me. I have been educated but I for some reason just can’t follow a “diet”. I ended up not ordering the 6 week body makeover because I began to think on the past when I read the information and agree with a lot of it (not 100%) but just couldn’t do it. No one’s fault–the company, etc. but my fault. I did faithfully cook all the weeks’ meals ahead and because I’m not creative, I fixed the same ole thing over and over. I did throw away alot of the food I pre-fixed and froze. Not good. As for the large charge someone had, if I remember the shipping costs for me were on the first payment so it was was higher but the later ones were per the agreement. Anything else I order online seems to do that too. Shipping is on the first payment. I still am impressed with my co-worker who is following the plan and looks so good! I’m so happy for her. Now, not to open another can of worms, but has anyone found a practical, not too expensive plan that works for them? I am one of those who have “tried them all” and just don’t seem to have the self-control to do it. That is “my bad” not anyone elses. I don’t want to start any anger! Just would appreciate feedback on successes. Again, thanks for the reply and I wish the best for everyone.

Elaine S.: Its good to see that others have had similar experiences as me with teh 6 Week Body Makeover; unneccesarily expensive and the food choices are not all that exciting. Louise, I think you are wise for not ordering this. I just started on the 5 Factor Diet 2 weeks ago and its been a lot easier to follow so far plus I alread lost 4 lbs. Maybe that will be better for you too, good luck!

Calista: I hated this product! Seriously it was the biggest waste of money!!! I set my profile up and I followed the program to the T for 11 weeks. In that time I only lost 2 1/2 pounds! Talk about FRUSTRATING!!! I would have been better off making up my own plan… oh well lesson learned!

Ribbit: Hey All First of all I don’t believe in any store bought diet. I think to get healthy and live healthy is a life long commitment. I am not a commited person. I did buy the SWBM overall I like the plan. But I think the trick to it is the fact that you are buying a paperback personal trainer. I needed direction I know I want smaller legs and bigger arms but didn’t know how to achieve that. The SWBM showed me what to do to get where I wanted. The diet plan teaches how you should eat. I have a wierd disorder where I gain weight for no apperant reason. I have been put on several diets by nutrition experts, nothing works. The best hope I have is to stabilize my weight to keep me from gaining to much to fast. This program did that. However I don’t use it as a six week body makeover I use it as a plan for a healthier life.

Cathy: This is just another one of those intensive “lose weight fast” diets where, once you go back to your regular way of life, you will pile it right back on. Six WEek Body Makeover wasn’t even great as a “quick fix,” really…it’s complicated, high maintenence and annoying. i only lost 5 lbs total, which i regained within a month of going back to regular eating. I need something a bit more long term, something i can use for the rest of my life. This wasn’t it.

Cathy: This program is fabulous – it works IF you follow it! I lost 13.5 lbs after 6 weeks, and 24 lbs after 12 weeks – and this with undiagnosed, untreated hypothyroidism. If you cheat – you are cheating yourself!

Larissa: You are so right, Cathy…you have to stick with the Six WEek Body Makeover, and sometimes that’s easier than others. Let me share a little tip w/ you guys for enhancing your success…..what i do is, i eat these candies called Hoodia Bites. They have Hoodia Gordonii in them and they help me to walk away from temptation. They taste really yummy, too….kind of like a starburst fruit chew. THey’re helping keep me on track, and I’ve lost 11 lbs already in only 3 weeks!

Peter: First some testimonials: My Dad (64) lost 35 lbs on the diet and is back to a 32″ waist. My Mom (66) lost 55 lbs, but still has about 40 to go. I went from 207 lbs to 176 lbs in 3 months and am back to a 32″ waist. My wife just started the diet and lost 5lbs the second week. It took her a good 5 days to get the hang of the diet, so she didn’t lose anything the first few days. Now for my take on the the 6-week Body Makeover and some of the comments posted above: First of all, there is no such things as getting something for nothing. If you don’t want to work hard, how can you expect to achieve the body you want? Yes the diet works. Yes you need to change your approach to eating forever. The whole point of the plan is to teach you how different foods act on your body and how you can take advantage of this to eat plenty of food and still lose weight. The diet is strictly no fat, no salt until you get to your goal weight. Yes, eating 5-times a day can be difficult if you don’t plan ahead. No, it is not true that you have to eat the same things all of the time. For example, I can eat chicken, turkey, lean steak, tuna steak (or low sodium canned tuna), swordfish, red snapper, shrimp, lobster every single day as part of my regular meals. If I cheat one day, no big deal, I gain a little or don’t lose as much, but the next day, you go right back to the plan and get right back on track. Once your metabolism kicks in, you will be amazed at the weight loss. Increasing your muscle mass through slow jogging/fast walking and resistance training only increases your metabolism and fat burning ability. For most people who don’t exercise (like me), you should be doing this anyway. One of the great features of this diet is that you eat only what your body is capable of absorbing at a given time. When you are hungry it is usually time to eat again. People, there is no simple way to lose weight. You have to work hard for it. If eating 5 times a day instead of 3 is the price you have to pay, what is the problem? I hope you don’t get discouraged by the negative reviews, if you are serious about losing weight, this really works and will last you a lifetime. Good luck.

Eat2Live: I am on my 8th day of the 6wbm and I have lost 4 lbs so far. My goal for the end of the 6wks is 12-15 lbs. I have 20+ lbs to lose. I agree that the work is extensive, but I am reaching 45yrs old and have hypertension and want to live to see my children grow old and see my grandchildren and great grandchildren one day. I have started 2 dance lessons for 3 nights a wk, and walk the alternating days. This is work, but it is worth it. Hang in there

Karen: That’s great, peter, that you (and your whole family, whose testimonials you posted, tho I’m not sure why you did that, it sounds kind of like an ad?) are so into this Six Week Body Makeover. I think maybe the thing to understand is, if eating 5 times a day works for you, then more power to you…but there are a LOT of different diets out there, and more than just one that works…sort of how there isn’t one “right” religion. for me, there’s just not the time to eat that often, but i don’t begrudge you your success. For me, i do alot better on South Beach (with a little help from my Fortex ab belt) and that works for me. It’s simple and straightforwardm the way i like it.

Gina: Six Week Body Makeover is OK, a bit complicatied maybe, but doable…I take NuPhedrine with it to ensure results, and this stuff kicks a$$. I have lost 17 lbs in 6 weeks.

Danielle: I just want to say that I have been on the 6 wbm for a month now and I have lost 20 pounds so far. I am satisfied with this program it has not let me down. With thie program I cook alot, I have become a regular gourmet chef. No matter what plan you go on it takes discipline. So if you are not willing to put in the time and become disciplined it is not going to work for you. Alot of you are focusing on what happens with customer service rather than the diet itself. I am sorry that you have had problems in that area but don’t let customer service keep you away from a good program. Since I have started the 6 wbm program I have experimented with foods that I never would have touched other wise , Prime example is shark. Remeber Jaws :) . Come on people don’t knock it until you try it and to those of you who are losing wieght on this program keep up the good work

Jessica: Hello to everyone. I agree with a lot of you saying that if you don’t do the work, you don’t get the results. I have not yet tried the 6-Week Body Makeover, but I intend to. I am expecting work, which I thank a lot of you for giving me a heads up. All “diets” that are healthy require changes in the way we live. If what we were doing before worked, we would not try all of these different diets. There is not one “miracle diet” that works and gives great results to everyone. We are all different and do not have the same bodies or levels of commitment, so we cannot expect to get the same results out of the same product. For those out there who are looking for a more inexpensive plan, try the flat belly diet by prevention magazene. It works great for getting that extra flab off the midsection and has several great recipes for great food! Everything worthwhile requires work! Good luck everyone!

Allison K.: It absolutely works – you really need to take the time to either read the material or even better, watch the DVD’s if you don’t like to read. This is a guaranteed winner in my opinion. As far as knowing how to keep from gaining after the 6-weeks (or however long it takes you to lose), there is a “living lean” portion included in the program – READ IT! Of course, you cannot go back to eating at Burger King every day if you want to stay fit – but who would want to?? I lost 30 lbs and 3 dress sizes and it’s been 8 months and guess what – I watch the scale, if I go up a pound or two, I’m right back on the plan. It changes your whole perspective on what you put in your mouth and essentially your body. I’ve never felt better in my life – I no longer wake up to stomach aches and my skin is glowing. I am 52 years old and have been on every diet program in history – I’ve never stuck to any of them as long as this one, because this IS the one that works. Hope this helps with some of the skeptics out there and good luck.

megan: the program was okay but i’ve been taking a natural appetite suppressant (hoodia p57) since coming off the 6 Week Body Makeover. i need it to make sure i don’t indulge and it helps.

sam: i also tried the swbm it is to rime consuming to much info to read. also the eating is not realistic especial if you go out or at some ones house for dinner it is impossible to stick exactly to it

Don’t take for granted that this will work for you due to the increased consumption of vegetables…the 20lbs came off easily in the first month but dizzy spells came on and the monotony of menu makes it difficult to stick to…and the weight came back on once I tried to return to a diet plan given by a dietician. Thurmond should really relook at this system and its applicability to vegetarians…and be willing to ADMIT that this was not done rather than refer us to a Blog for advice..tut tut

gretchen: I realize that everyone has an opinion, but would you mind putting yours somewhere else if you HAVEN’T actually TRIED the program? My friend has this program and I looked it over – my husband and I are both going to try it. The workouts are definitely customized, and the diet plan is not that restrictive (but hey, if all you want is fast food and pizza but you want to lose weight, SOMETHING’s gotta give people!). If you haven’t tried it, save your opinion for later. Those I have talked to who HAVE tried it have each lost 20lbs or more in the first month, and are noticing a great increase in muscle. Worth a shot, right?

Daina: I did the swbm starting after Thanksgiving of last year. I lost 44lbs in 4 months. I lost an additional 6 lbs within about a month after that. I can truly say that it worked for me. The only problem was that I have a very sensitive body and I had a few unwanted side effects that I think they should warn people about before they start a program that will help you lose weight very quickly. After about 4 or 5 months of being on the program I began to lose hair and kept losing it for months. I also started getting different types of infections that i had never had before. I had quite a few blood tests but they all came back normal. My body was just thrown out of sorts and didn’t know how to react. Since then I have added some things to my diet that i’m not “supposed’ to eat to slow things down a bit. But I think I will start again to lose my last 20 lbs- but I will take it a little slower and not cut as much out of my daily diet this time.

Rheannon: SO I have tried the Six Week BOdy Makeover program and here’s my opinion: IT SUCKS! And btw, Gretchen, i see that YOU are posting comments here, and have not even done the program yet!! So please, there is no need to be rude. We are all trying to find the best way to get the weight off here, and I appreciate any input that’s offered. I wish you success on this, but, in 6 weeks, I lost 0.5 lbs. Now, I MAY have gained a bit of muscle, as I was working out but still, the results werent’ impressive. Glad I stopped then, I would hate to have the side effects that Daina describes above…don’t do it again, girl! Save your body from this hell!

Kimberly: I think the 6wkbm program is great. I’m morbidly obese, suffering from hypertension and is on 31 years old. I’m on my 2nd week of the program and has already lost 12 lbs. My starting weight was 329 lbs and now its 317 lbs. I now have more energy and get around a little quicker. Oh my gosh, yes, yes, yes, i have to agree with everyone about the food choices. Eating the same foods every day can be very annoying. But at the end of the day, if that’s what i need to do to lose weight then i’m all for it. I plan to lose 150 lbs in the next 5 or 6 months. I know it can happen if i continue to follow the program. The food choices will get better in the long run because you have this fantastic cookbook with all kinds of recipes in it that you can use. So people i stand behind this program it really works. I will submit comments every week to tell you all of my results. Like all my other colleagues said “DON’T KNOCK IT BEFORE YOU TRY IT”.

alicia: i do respect anyone who is able to stick to the Six WEekBody Makeover…i wasn’t. Even KNOWING that there was an end in sight, i was really struggling with the BORING MONOTONY of eating the same stuff each day. i am confused too about why people seem to be saying “you never tried it” when how can you say that? i did try! I just have difficulty with diets that dont offer very much variety. i realzed that the Six Week Body Makeover was more for a short term crash diet than it was about keeping the weight off for life. I’m going to look for something better suited to me.

Djulka: This is the best diet I have ever been on in my life. Within a few days of going on this program I felt very balanced and without cravings. To be honest with you I was on this program previously with great success. The only downside is that you HAVE to cook. As a rule I enjoy cooking so this is not a problem. I would estimate that preparation takes about 2 hrs a week. Events in my life caused me to be away from home and eat take out for a period of time…and the weight came back. Once I made a commitment to return to the program the weight is melting off again. I don’t religously follow the program but am about 98% in compliance with the principles. The main thing I do is stay away from white flour or sugar and I eat 6 meals a day. I try to drink as much water as I can but sometimes fall a little short. I think the idea of dieting is so absolute that we often do ourselves in when we stray even slightly…I just try to hit the mark at least 95% of the time. Hey 95% is an “A” in my book. The best part of this program is that the cravings and struggle go away…I don’t know why but it seems easy. I don’t go through that bargaining mentality or those mental highs and lows. I just feel balanced.

marie: I guess I need a diet that teaches you how to eat balanced, sensible meals even while you’re out. I’m a frequent business traveler and I eat out quite often…I need a diet that is flexible enough for me to apply to my life. I know it’s possible to not be fat when you’re on the road, I see a lot of business people who don’t have my problem. The Six Week Body Makeover seemed appealing at first, but then I realized that it’s just not realistic for me. I would say most people would like a diet that they can incorporate into all sorts of “real life” scenarios.

Debbie: I started this diet the end of March in 2006. By the 10th of Aug 06 I had dropped 56 lbs. During that time I went of a 2 week vacation. Without worry. Like any diet, if your are really ready to lose some lbs, it will work. The sales pitch when ordering was ruff. Once I received the kit, I was overwhelmed. I saw the quick start information, but luckily I did not go that route. I read everything about this program. I spent 2 weeks preparing for this diet. No fat, no sugar. Thats the basics. The last place for me to lose is in by waist. On this diet, it was the first place. The only regrete I have is that I did not do any of the exercises. I just did the food portion. The plus to this diet is that it is forgiving. I did not gain any weight on vacation. When I slip up and the scale shows me, it’s because I skipped meals or did not start of with breakfast first thing in the morning. The only bad thing I can say about this diet, not much help on keeping the weight off. But it does give you the tools you need to lose, if you are ready. Working with people everyday I was asked a lot about how I was losing weight, and it was steady. Those that invested, usually did the quick start first and never did the six week program. If you have 25+ lbs to lose, your not going to do it in six weeks! But you will be amazed at how many lbs and inches you do lose. Debbie

harley: I do not eat meat, but do eat fish. I took the on line test and I am a “B” body type. Before I spend the money on this program, can someone tell me if I will be able to eat what is right for my body type, if I don’t eat meat (that includes not eating chicken). I’m very prepared to do the “hard work” everyone is talking about, I’m just concerned that eating only fish may not work with the diet. Since my diet is fairly restricted anyway, I don’t anticipate any problem with “boring” food as so many people have posted.

barbara: well, debbie, thanks for your comments. But if you guys are saying “you can’t loose 20+ lbs in 6 weeks” then isn;t it wrong for them to call this the “six week body makeover”? Maybe they should call it the “six week body makeover unless you have a lot of weight to loose” or the “Slightly more than six week body makeover” or something like that. Plus, i think it is odd that you can just sort of skip the exercise aspect of this program. i think almost any legit, sensible diet includes exercise. this just seems kind of messed up to me, all this double-talk. I have to lose 40 lbs so i am steering clear.

cathy: Six Week Body Makeover is awful for vegetarians bcs the alternative protein sources are quite scarce. I also experienced some loss of hair as someone noted above, as well as dizziness , with this diet. not for me.

harley: Thanks cathy – what I need to know though can fish be substituted for where it calls for meat. Like I said I’m not a total vegetarian, I do eat fish.

Roxie: It took 9 days to receive the swbm and the instructions simplified the whole thing. It tells you that you do NOT have to read all of the material to begin. I found the body type I am, the basic guideline menu for my type, and began immidiately. I’ve been on it for 8 days now and have lost 11 pounds and started the exercising just today. You litterally eat to lose wt. Yes you have to give up bread, salt, sugar and such, but once you start experimenting with the way you prepare your food, it becomes more interesting and tastier. This is the first diet I’ve had this kind of success with therefore it makes it so much easier to stick to. I’ve spent alot more money on diet pills, shots, videos, etc… but THIS works!

Patti: In 6 weeks, I have lost exactly 3 lbs and 0 inches. WTF??? I did everything as instructed, from the meal plans to the exercises and did not transform my body. Maybe the 6 week BOdy Makeover is misnamed like soemone said? I don’t want to do this any more though, because I think the food is boring. Maybe I need the 5 Factor diet or something. SOmething better anyway.

Lisa: GOOD AND BAD: TEN of us did it. You will get rid of actual fat. It does work if you just do egg whites but it is VERY UNBALANCED as a vegetarian and does not have enough fat. It will NOT work if you cheat for most people. I am shocked at the number of people who say it does not work at all. I lost 22 lbs and my husband lost 34 but we exercise. (I originally put on weight because I broke my back and he had knee surgery). I do not like to admit this, but my husband and I bought the programs did them and gave it out to 8 other people (3 of whom went on to buy it). It worked for EVERYONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO DID IT. My mother cheats and it still works for her. Bitch. It is possible you “body-typed” yourself wrong or something else happened. You can contact them with issues. In general if you want to go the cheap way, do the test on the website and the free 6-day diet and see for yourself. Most people are body type B. And if you READ you are supposed to walk or something every day. My negative comments are that it is VERY boring and if you do not eat real food anyway on a regular basis you will have issues. No sodium was my husband’s problem. No fat was mine. But it does work. I took off a roll under my bust 6 months ago and it has not returned even though we are eating “normal”. One more tip–if it works and you are not having problems do it straight thru until you get to your goal because you will want to kill yourself if you either go off then back on and it doesn’t work or you want to gag from boredom. Which happened to friends of ours. I need to lose another 20 lbs which I have not been able to take off with Weight Watchers but it is a toss up between going back on and gnawing my arm off. Do not attempt this diet if you are not serious and want to eat crap. Go to Weight Watchers or something. Because this is more like you would think of a cutting diet for competition. Yes, this is the program from EXTREME MAKEOVER and yes, Michael Thurmond is a pro and works with the stars to get amazing results. Try it in conjunction with a personal trainer. Good luck.

The thing for me is that I have trouble sticking to diets that are “VERY boring” as you put it and also it seems that you did regain the weight, which is what i want to avoid as much as i can. Also, i cannot afford to do this in conjunction with a personal trainer they’re really really expenive ya know? I was looking into the Five Factor Diet by the celeb trainer Harley Pasternak (he’s been on America’s Next Top Model and Oprah). with this diet you can actually cheat every few weeks, and that def. appeals to me. Will report back!! THANKS again!

Rich: If you follow this plan to the T you will lose weight. Cheating will not help. If you want to lose you can. I have suggested this to probrably 10 people and not one of them loss less than 20 Lbs in 6 weeks. After you are done, you have to find what you can eat and maintain the same weight. This will be different for each person. You can’t loose the weight then go back to your old eating habits. I lost 36 Lbs in 6 weeks and after that I was able to experiment with added foods like Salt, Milk, bread and all the other good foods. I know when I eat Ice cream I will have to spend extra time on the treadmill.

Natalie: I’ll take the south beach diet over the SixWeekBodyMakeover any day now that I know better!!! The six week is not a makeover at all, I did not cheat and didt’t get the loose nearly as much as I had hoped. I am now on phase 2 of south beach and already lost 27 pounds!

aj: I have to disagree w/ most of u. I went on 6wbmo several yrs ago & lost 40lbs. Yeah, eating “healthy” food can b expensive compared to fast food, diet food or whatever, but I lost the weight. & I know of several others that have lost the weight as well. You have to stick to it & eat every 2-3hrs. If you have a job that cannot allow u 2 do this, then I can understand why one cannot lose weight. You have to be decicated & cook your meals ahead of time & freeze them in portions so u can grab & go. I kept it off for 2yrs where I ran into some medical problems that has changed that, but I’m planning on trying it again, b/c of all the “diets”, “pills”, & “bars” that I have tried, this is the ONLY one that really worked for me. I even shared it w/ a co=worker who lost 40lbs as well w/o even excersing. So it does work, but it’s not a diet… it’s a life changing way of eating. & u have to be willing to do so. IF not, it’s not for you. And it’s not for those who only have to lose 10-15lbs..

Johanna: Hmm, wel thats all I need to loose, is 15 lbs and I was hoping I could do that in 6 weeks with the 6 Week BODy makeOver. So you are saying this is not for me, what should i do then?

Leslie: The foods were good and I was excited to start on the 6 week BOdy make OVer but it did not work out for me. I just could not keep up wiht the frequent meals, even though I tried. I would stretch it out to like 4-5 hrs between eating during hte week and maybe thats why it didn’t work? I lost 4lbs initially, then nothing more. Oh well, i can’t say i didn’t try. The Miracle Slim Wrap is good for quick inch loss, btw. It looked like i was 5 lbs lighter affter an hour only. Maybe try that Johanna.

Bev: My comment is for Daina about the hair loss. I have not been on this diet, I have been on fat loss for idiots. It works, but I was getting bored with it and I wanted to learn about the blue-printing which intrigues me. Anyway about the hair loss thing…before I ever began any program I had a problem with hair loss too, by the handfulls..it can be a symptom of low thyroid function. I had a throid test done by a doctor, which showed i was in the low end of the “normal” range, but then a ND told me my thyroid was very low and put me on NAKA brand vegetable iodine drops two droppers full 2xday, after about two months my hair stopped falling out and my energy went up. I continue to take a dropper per day to maintain, as far as I am aware there are no negative side effects of long term use. A note on salt: One of our only sources of iodine in our diet is salt as it is added to regular table salt. If you use sea salt (which I do, and which is why I have to supplement) or do not use any salt, such as on this diet from what i have read here, your iodine levels will be low. However, that being said, you would have to be on a no salt diet for a very long time to cause a deficiency severe enough to cause hair loss. So this has been coming on for a few years I would think. Also the infection problem is probably related to low immune system function, I would get that checked by an Naturpathic Dr. and take some immune system building essentials. Talk to your local health food store and see if they can recommend something. It is very likely not related to being on the diet, but rather would have happened anyway as our bodies don’t respond well to unhealthy eating for years. The problem probably has accumulated over years of stress and environmental stuff and it is just a coincidence that it came on after being on the diet. The same things happened to me before I began any diet. I suspect you would have had to deal with this even if you had not been on a diet. I am not a DR. but I am speaking from personal experience and years of general interest in natural health maintenance. By the way congrats on your success, and keep up the good work. I lost 27 pounds and am maintaining at the moment. I had to get through some unsettled times and I find if I just stick to the eating minimum 4 times per day stay away from the deadly white stuff I feel a lot better, and don’t gain the weight back. I do need to lose another 40 lbs or so, and I feel like I am ready to tackle that now.

jessica: I found the Six WEek Body Makeover to be entirely too strict with the no salt and the eating so many times a day. It just didn’t feel right for me and besides,. i need to lose about 45 lbs and its not even normal to lose that much in 6 weeks. (of course i didn’t more like 5 lbs total). The thing is you can’t say you are goiing to remake someone’s body in 6 weeks if they have a whole lot of weight to lose. This doesn’t seem like it is for seriously over weight people. either that or they are just lying!

nora: * SIX WEEK BODY MAKEOVER * FOllowed This Diet to a “T” and i lost only 4 lbs in SIX WEEKS!!! this is ridiculous, i could have done better just counting calories on my own.

Savannah: I started the 6WBMO in June/2008 and at this writing(December 2008), I’ve lost almost 90lbs. For my body to function normally, my body needs “real food” and not processed, toxic-laden hormone-injected food. Acid reflux, sour stomach, headaches, inability to concentrate were just a few things that disappeared. I also found that when I ate real food for 2 weeks, the cravings went away. I have issues keeping my sugar sustained, and this plan helps tremendously. Its amazing with alot of the studies coming out about illness seem to be related to how we eat and the amount of process food we eat. We have to stop putting this stuff in our bodies!

CCB: Anyone who says this program doesn’t work, isn’t doing it right. People that say they followed it to the letter and lost little to no weight are lying to themselves and aren’t counting the slips in willpower (or the burgers, fries, and pizza they sneak when no one is looking). I lost 43 pounds the first month I used to program, had more energy and generally felt better. You may think that losing 43 pounds in a month is not healthy, but I spoke to my doctor, and he said because of my body type, dropping that much weight the way I did it was fine. As far as losing ALL the weight you need to lose, they say right in the book that if you need to lose over 30 pounds, it will take more than 6 weeks. It is not easy, and its not a miracle. It takes work! But better health is worth it.

leah: oh, well, i am confused CCB, you say that according to the Six Week Body Makeover, if you have to lose more than 30 lbs, it will take more than 6 weeks. But then you claimed that you lost 43 lbs in a month *(less than 6 weeks last i counted). it is not possible to lose 10 + lbs of fat per week, I asked MY doctor. And anyway you just are contradicting yourself all over the place…!! I’m sorry and no offense but just look at what you are saying.

Auty: This system takes effort and commitment, but it really works well. You do, indeed, eat a ton of food every day. I went on it 5 years ago and lost about 35 lbs. I kept it off for a few years. The weight has crept back up so I started again for 09. My favorite thing about it is that it is all about revving up your metabolism to avoid plateaus. I think the majority of thumbs down people just haven’t tried it. There is even a money back guarantee! $120 is less than 2 weeks on Jennie Craig!

Kim: A diet is a diet , you can not expect a miracle to happen. You can’t expect to be onthe diet lose the weight ,then go off the diet and expect to keep it off with all the suagars and such that you went back to before the diet. This “diet” is a lifestyle, it shows you what you need to do to get off all the extra junk food and such. Our family of four went on this to try it. The four of us lost 220 pounds between us. Yes our weights fluctuate now especially because of eating treats and such but thats our fault not the diets. Theres plenty of food choices in the recipe forums that people have made and they taste great. Theres also condiment substitutes in the forum also. Research online and at organic stores theres many spices that you can use that do not contain salt or sugar. Trader Joes has a fabulous spice that has 21 spices in it and tastes great on any meat or fish dish and contains no salt or spice. We got marinates and sauces online also that contain no salt and sugars. IT does cost a bit more to begin with but when it comes down to comparing it with all the junk food you have bought within the past month you actually save money in the end. My family and I recommend this diet for anyone, but rememeber its a lifestyle, its showing you how to eat for the rest of your life, not just for the duration of losing your weight.

lynda: See, i worry about like Auty, when you say that your weight has “crept back up…” that makes me wonder whether this really does teach you the skills for life, because i have noticed a few of you have reported regaining the weight after you are done the diet. That concerns me a great deal, because i really want to keep the weight off this time. I’ve been on this diet for a couple of weeks and the no salt and no sugar is driving me crazy. it does not seem that realistic that a person could stay off salt and sugars forever. seems too severe. my instincts are telling me this is not the diet for me.

Patricia_in Juneau: My weight also “crept back up” after the conclusion of the Six Week Body Makeover…in fact it crept up to the tune of 35 lbs. i know this is partially my fault but its also because this basically is a “crash” diet for quick resuls and it uses severe methods to achieve that goal. its not something you can really live with for the long haul. well, at least i couldn’t.

Holly: My son and I both did the 6 wk. body makeover. My son lost 18 lbs. in the first 2 weeks and I lost 38 overall in 6 wks. We were diligent, straying very little from the healthy eating. We ate things we liked, not asparagus and spinach. If you are diligent and go by the plan, reading and being familiar with the plan as a whole, IT DOES WORK. I was in a car accident and injured and got off and gained back some of my weight. I am going back on it starting Monday, because I know it works and it really makes sense. It just takes giving it 100% and understanding the concept instead.

laura: What bothers me is that even those who give the Six Week BOdy Makeover the “Thumbs up” seem to admit that they regained the weight and had to go back on the diet. i don’t want to be off and on diets the rest of my life. I want something that’s reasonable enough so it keeps working no matter what, as long as i stick to the heathy choices.

catz: i was excited to see the link for this blog, only now i realize it’s simply a huge disappointment. Far too many posters chose a thumbs up or down that have never even tried the product. you can’t rate something based on ‘it doesn’t sound possible’ or ‘ it sounds like too much work for me’etc. it skews the summary results at the top.

Denise: To Laura….what they mean by regaining weight is that they didn’t accurately add back foods to see how they could “live lean” for the rest of their lives. They didn’t regain weight by “sticking to the healthy choices”. The program has a living lean section that teaches you how you can add back some foods to see how your body reacts and then determine what you can and cannot eat to maintain your weight forever. This is how it customizes your blueprint to stay lean. Hopefully this will help those who don’t quite understand the way it helps you keep off the weight. Good Luck!

monica: So I can’t say that I didn’t Lose ANY weight with the 6 week body makeover, i mean, obviously, when you start changing your eating habits and exercise more (including muscles that i never used before) you see some changes initially. My problem with this, however, is that the only weight I lost, all came off iin the first 2 weeks. So I guess I should be happy that I lost 8 lbs and am eating better…but it was not the miraculous turn around I was hoping for.

Rebecca: Six Week Body Makeover – This was my 11th “attempt” to try a diet program. It was very expensive, boring, limiting and time consuming. Program did not work for me. Lost 20 gained 60! Very rapidly too I might add. I went to a medical weight loose seminar conducted by two Endocrinologist’s. They conducted a study of 1000 participants. Conclusuion.. Fad’s do not work! The public spends billions on diet fads every year. Average weight loss is 20 lbs, and then put 20 lbs back on, only 1% actually make it! The way to loose is take in less than you are burning. Keep dieting simple and you won’t fall off the wagon. I decided to give dieting another chance w/out 6WB. I changed my eating habits. Eating on a smaller plate. Lower fat, lower carbs, less salt, less red meat, no fast food, no HFCS (if I can help it..it’s in everthing!), low sugar, natural products, no artificial sweetners. I didn’t cut out the things I crave (salt, sugar, fat) I cut out the huge portions and bad ingredients. Eat slower, and stop after a few bites. Wait for my brain to trigger the “full” feeling. Most importantly…drinking more water and using my Wii Fit for 30 minutes a day. Everyday is not perfect. Sometimes there is no time for Wii, sometimes I eat what I am craving. But I am not guilting myself into calling it “cheating” anymore. Also, food is not a reward. So I stopped that habit too. Now, I am living, I am normal, I still eat chocolate. Lost 20 lbs in 2 months on my own! Still loosing a little everyday. Good luck you can do it without 6WBM!

Dawn: THe Six Week Body Makeover was just a short term thing for me, i did loose 5 lbs but I regained that weight plus 3 lbs so in the end i was worse off than when i started. I think for me it would be better to have a sort of more moderate diet where i could lose the weight over time and KEEP it off. i’ve heard diets like South Beach and weight watchers are good for that. I just don’t want these extreme diets that are easy come, easy go. I’m too old for that now.

Laurie Dodd: Well I feel like my thoughts about 6 Week BOdy Makeover pretty much echo what Rebecca says…the program was boring and took a lot of time. I am not one to complain, I know weight loss takes a lot of hard work (I was a colllege athlete, just have not been abel to keep in shape over the years, 5 kids, etc) Anyway, I did not lose more than 4 lbs on this program. About 2 months ago, I joined a gym and also got a diet pill that I researched HEAVILY online. I have lost 16 lbs so far, in the two months, and hope to only need the pills for another month or two. This has really worked, bcs my appetite was just out of control before. I get Slim 10 online http://www.slim10.com/patented I really believe its a better investment than this program, I know i’ve gotten faster results.

myra: I don’t know what the others didn’t get from the program I thought it was a very good plan it’s designed for people to lose up to 30# in 6 weeks but I lost 40# I felt wonderful.

Pam Oakley: I lost 70lbs in 6 mos. It sounds like people want an easy fix and putting the burden on any program to work for them. I had to be ready to lose mentally & seriously. Its not a start to finish result in 6 wks, but it is 6 wks of showing you how to keep your metabolism going and reset it. You cant go 6 wks and stop! it depends how bad you want to lose. This is fast at first and slows but it does not stop if you dont. if it fails, you need to do self inventory & get honest w/ yourself. The packaging can be overwhelming but worth it. i owned it 3 years before my mind & commitment took over! I love it & many are following me in family & church. I guess it helps to know someone who is doing it so the program doesnt seem to complicated.

Natalie_NYC: Just wanted to say thank you to however gave the link on Slim 10 a few months ago. I thought it sounded good and tried it and so far I have lost 18lbs. I am so thrilled. I work out 5 days a week and have progressively learned how to eat more balanced meals also. Thank you again!

Gina Pennsylvania: I lost 13 pounds the first week, 27 pounds in 6 weeks, 32 pounds total. Anyone that says it doesn’t work is because they either cheated, picked the wrong body type or just unknowingly didn’t follow the plan correctly. This is the best diet I’ve ever been on.

Margie: Sorry Gina, your math does not add up, unless you happened to regain 8 lbs sometime throughout the 6 Week Body makeover program. That makes me a little suspicious…i’ve heard that some companies post on websites to make their products look better & wonder if thats the case. Anyway, I tried the diet and did NOT CHEAT, and what was my result? 2.5 lbs lost in 2 months. SO at that point I decided to stop, whats the point?

Rhoda: Doesnt’ matter if you do this for six weeks or six months, you will get the same results, very minimal. I didn’t learn anything new on 6 Week body Makeover and certainly did not alter my body in any significant way.

I followed the diet plan outlined according to the body type suggested after taking the quiz..maybe there was a problem there, I don’t know. It didn’t produce amazing results, as I said. I wish I’d had as much success as you but i was not pleased with the outcome of Six Week body Makeover.

VENUS: Tried this plan (6WeekBodyMakeover) for a few months, just under 4 I think, and I barely lost weight. At first I lost 2 lbs,then only 4 more the whole time. IT was not challenging to me and I could not make progress. You know, I have to say I find it interesting that you say you will never use another weight loss plan again, Coni, implying that you might need to diet again in the future? I just don’t see how this diet plan is a long-term option. I know it takes patience & commitment, to loose wieght but this was too slow for my taste. I think the 5 Factor diet is my next choice.

Heather: This program works if you follow the instructions and if you do not cheat. If you are not losing then you are doing something wrong. It must be followed to the “T.”

becca: Wow, on top of failing at the Six Week Body Makeover, now i find that i’m accused of doing “something wrong.” I can assure you that i did follow this diet to a T, for the entire 6 weeks if not longer, and i lost only 3 and 1/2 pounds. It was only after i added a fat burner to the mix (NuPhedrine) that i started seeing the results i was after. So thats my story, i did make every effort but it didnt work. Please don’t judge me if you don’t know me!

JP: Wasted Money. Six Week Body Makeover Did nothing for me.

Beccq: Folks the SWBM does work! I lost 79 pounds in 5 months. YES 79 lbs. And I did all that without the body sculpting. Imagine what I could have done if I HAD exercised. However – you are constantly thinking about food, when to eat what to prepare, what to purchase and you eat 5 to six times a day so that is a lot of food prep. Now for the rest of the story – I have fallen off the eating program and slowly began to gain the weight back. Within two years I have gained all I lost back. I have been resistant to restart because I remember the food consentration but it is the only that that has ever worked that well for me so I am sure I will start again. The SWBM will work – you just have to be dedicated enough to stick with it and when you reach your goal weight be mindful of your weight and when you gain 5 punds … take them off immediately!

Dorothy: I am so glad I am here and just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience so openly, it really helps people like me who are at a stage of trying to find the perfect program or diet. In the case of Six Week Body Makeover, I am reading a lot of posts that I can identify with, I have many things in the past to loose weight and ended up failing every time. Crystal: I have done the 6WBM. I was a B in the program, and did the Rapid Results Meals for 2 weeks and lost 20lbs, and didn’t do the recommended exercises for my body description, and walked on the tredmill for 30-45 mins 3-4 times a week, only ate the planned meals, I have still managed to keep off THOSE 20lbs, and its been almost 4 years. The 6WBM DOES WORK, I loved it. If you truly dedicate yourself to the program, you will see results very quickly, just like I did. 6WBM is not really a diet, it was designed to help people make lifestyle changes, and how healthy foods can taste just as good if not better as eating out if you put the time in effort into doing it.

allison: hey, beccq, I had a very similar experience to yours with Six Week Body Makeover. It can work, for sure, but you need to be constantly vigilant, and on top of the food situation at all times. Did you stop measuring your foods? for me, the whole ordeal was very discouraging, because i realized that in order to keep the weight off with this program,i was *constantly* going to have to be fixated on food, planning meals, measuring foods, preparing, etc etc. And i am a busy person who likes to have a life. So the Six Week Body Makeover ended up being all wrong for me. I’m doing a lot better on the Five Factor Diet, which allows for cheat days and is a lot more flexible and normal with the menu plans. good luck to all of you.

kim: I thought i could lose weight in 6 weeks with the Six week Body Makeover, but i didn’t even come close. now i see people here are saying “oh of course its going to take longer than six weeks…” well how are we suppsoed to know tat when its called “The Six week Body Makeover?” i am serious.

Jack: I noticed a woman at work who seemed like she was losing a lot of wirght, complimented he and she told me about the 6 Week Body Makeover…IF you take it seriously and follow it religiously YOU WILL LOSE A LOT OF WEIGHT! Since then, my girl friend has been on it and lost 25 lbs…(I’ve lost about 22lbs) and we have turned over a dozen people onto this program….it really works!

Lilly Rose: I am not sure what i am doing wrong here, I only l lost 3 pounds. Not sure the Six Week Body Makeover is working for me. I am giving up, it’s just not good or fast enough. I am gonna try the south beach diet.

MAGGIE: A-men Amber. I received my kit 2 years ago and lot 25 lbs in 8 weeks. Working the program almost exactly as described, with minimum cheats, worked great for me. 2 years later, I am back on it and lost 7 lbs in the first week. The Living Lean section was where I fell off the wagon in the 2 years when I was off the weekly program. Meanwhile, this thing works for my Body Type C better than any other program…and I have tried them ALL.

joelle: See, Maggie, you just managed to express EXACTLY what i didn’t like about 6 week Body Makeover: “2 years later I am back on it,” you say. well i don’t want to be yo-yoing back & forth on “6 week” fixes, I want a diet where 2 years later I HAVE KEPT THE WEIGHT OFF because its a reasonable enough diet to stay on. Right now I’m on the South Beach diet and while it has not been 2 years out yet, I feel that this diet is ‘doable’ enough that i can keep it up long term.

Jancy: The Six Week Body Makeover is a *crash diet* its good if you want to loose some weight fast & are willing to accept that you will almost definitely re-gain that weight. i regained weight twice when i did this diet over a period of 5 years…it certainly was a rollercoaster. i think i would like to try something wehre the results could be permanet and i don’t feel like i am starving for almost 2 mos.

lynette: well, i got tripped up on the Living Lean Program (that’s at the end of the Six Week Body Makeover). Being on the diet was not so touugh bcs there was an end in sight. But i admit, i fell off the living lean program bcs it was for the indefinite future, and it freaked me out a bit. i think maybe i need a more slow going,less extreme type of diet plan.

Lollie: I’ve been using this product since September, I had a lot more then 20 pounds to lose so I didn’t except to be thin in 6 weeks, however, I’d lost 22 pounds in that time frame and I’m still losing 1-2 pounds each week eating the prescribed foods and following the exercise program, I also drink plenty of water and added walking to my routine. It’s been about 5 months since I started the 6-Week Body Makeover, and so far I’ve lost over 40 pounds. I plan to use this program for life it works for me. It would be crazy for me to go back to my old way of eating I already know what the results will be.

cassandra: theres just too much measuring and counting and food prep and overall planning involved in the Six Week Body Makeover. I mean, that’s fine for a DIET, which is what this essentially is, but not to do forever. If i was measuring and weighing my food for life i would lose my mind.

Angie: Wow….I’ve heard that us Americans are lazy, and reading through all the negative comments on the 6 week body makeover plan – I can see how true that is! Most of the negative comments I’ve read on here are saying : it won’t work for me because… “it’s too much work”, or “takes too much time”, or “too strict” or “too much money”. Reading all of these posts you’d think that all these people expected to sit on the couch eating chips all day long! Of course it’s work, of course it takes time, and of course it costs more than $20! You’d pay more money, spend more time, and do more work if it actually works, wouldn’t you??? I’ve been on the 6 week body makeover plan for 5 months now and have lost 40 lbs! I would’ve lost more (since I still have 25 lbs left to lose) except that I ran into difficult tempting situations like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and several birthdays and weddings. :) I am definitely stronger, fitter, happier and healthier. I’m not hungry during the day and most of my cravings have just melted away. I feel fantastic! As long as you can develop a little self-discipline this diet plan is exactly what you need!

evelyn: I followed the Six Week body Makeover to the tee and was very diligent about food preparation and nutritional guidelines and i lost only 3 lbs in 12 wks and then that weight came back quickly. i switched to South Beach Diet in Dec. 2008 and its amazing how much of a difference thtat has made. Something about that diet just clicks with my body’s nutritional needs. I have shed 14 1/2 lbs and i am feeling so much better. I am willing to work very hard but it also has to be the right program. Its sorta like a marriage…I will meet you halfway and compromise, but you have to be the right guy for me or there’s no point. does that make sense?

Nicole: I purchased this program after watching extreme makeover. It took me like 1-2 weeks to get on track and do the program the way it recommended me to do it. After about 7-8 weeks I had lost 21lbs an I had noticed some difference in my body. I was definitely on my way to making over my body! I think that if I would not have gotten off track during the holiday’s, I would have probably lost 35-40 lbs by now. I have been off of the program since Thanksgiving 2008. I would say if you followed this program and did at least the diet and some of the cardio workouts you would definitly lose weight no matter what! You have to be realistic if you have 50 lbs to lose you will have to stay on this program for at least 6 months! I recommend this diet to everyone!!

gabby: I was so optimistic and excited when i saw an ad for the Six Week Body Makeover. It said, ” Lose Weight Fast in Just 6 Weeks with Michael Thurmond unfort did not work for me sorry.

Ophelia: I have read all of the comments that were posted on the Blog(especially the bad ones)just to see what kind of complaints and issues that the people that hated it had and it was all about “its hard,” “I need more options,” It just didn’t work for me. Well, I am still getting the SWBM…. No excuses… for the lady that only lost a pound after 3 weeks… do the blueprinting again because you did it wrong!!! Period!!! READ THE MATERIALS… if most of you read the instructions correctly and followed it, there shouldn’t be a problem anyway. **Hint** If you have alot of fat to lose, it will probably take more than 6 weeks**(Use Common Sense folks)…. and for those that says it’s too expensive, its $19.99 a month. **It’s even less on ebay** I’ve known some folks that did it and it worked for them and I would be an absolute idiot if I didn’t do it. I ordered mine today, even after reading the complaints and fully aware that it may be difficult. But anything worth getting is going to require some hard WORK. And for those of you that are complaining, what would you sugguest would work and why haven’t YOU found success in your plan?….

Jessica: Yikes, sounds like there’s a lot of angry ladies pointing fingers out there! So I’m going to throw in my 2 cents worth, and hope that you can understand my journey, its the same one we’re all on, trying to get our slim and beautiful bodies back, and it’s TOUGH, no doubt about it. BUT!!!! We don’t have to get nuts about it, that’s what my bottom line is! The 6 WEek Body Makeover is WAY complicated, so regimented I felt like I was in the army…eat this, don’t eat that, in two days if you don’t follow my instructions you will swell up like a balloon and head off for outer space…I don’t like this approach! I feel more forgiving about where I am, for heaven’s sakes I have 3 children under 5 and my husband just lost his job, again, and I don’t have to treat my self like some kind of concentration camp victim! I need a softer approach to losing the 35 that’s stuck around my middle, something reasonable and more kindly…that’s why I’m going to Weight Watchers, and trying some Hoodia, looking for my OWN solution, not being directed by some fanatical diet that I can’t begin to follow…I need a life change, for sure, but not this kind!

SJS: I did the Six Week Body Makeover and lost 35 lbs in 6 weeks and 105lbs in 32 weeks. This is a hard diet to stick to but the results happen so quickly its hard not to want to keep going. joyce: Oh my, Jessica, thank you so much for admitting the truth about the Six Week Body Makeover! i was hesitant to admit that i had those same diffculties, because i didn’t want to seem like i wasn’t “tough enough” or whatever to get through this. But i did find it was very militaristic, very strict, and not the kind of thing that is compatible with a real, complicated, three-dimensional life that includes a job, a spouse, kids, pets, soccer games, date nights, etc. etc. I need a diet that’s a bit more forgiving and less intense. And one that i can maintain for longer than 6 weeks. maybe i will check out some of your suggestions, because this definitely is not for me.

Linda: This “diet” works. You have to stick to the plan. Will you lose 20 lbs. in 6 weeks? Probably not but you will see a big differnce in how you feel and how clothes fit. I am 52 years old and have tried different diets and a personal trainer with no results. I was fitter and stronger but I built muscle under fat. I was even going to spinning classes 3 times a week. No fat loss. The balance of food and what time of day to eat certain foods with this plan is what worked for me.

Megan: I have been on the Six Week Body Makeover for only 3 weeks and have already lost 16lbs!! It is an extensive diet, but if you follow it to a T, you WILL have results. There is plenty of support, with a hotline and online forum. I have tried many diets in the past, and this is the first one to work for me. I have IBS and acid reflux, so was worried that the diet might aggrivate those conditions, but it has actually helped, I have even stopped taking my Nexium! And do not have hart burn or an upset tummy at all. In my opion, this is a miracle program!

My three enemies are my lack of willpower, working in a grocery store – I buy what I want, when I want – and letting healthy food go to waste if I’m not in the mood to eat it. My size should be slim: I tried the 6 week body makeover and found it was too expesive as of buying all of the food I needed. I wasn’t able to eat all of that food not to mention finding time to eat six meals a day. I forgot why I stoped and I didn’t even think about trying it again until I received this e-mail. I will not try to buy any other programs I am going to rethink this and pull my box out from up under my bed and look at it again. If I decided to try it again I will try to stick to it. I may have stopped from bordom. I’m tired of buying other programs. I will concentrate on the positive posts I have just read. Good Luck to us all.

Birdie: I have just completed the 6 week body makeover and am thrilled with the results! I lost 10 pounds in the first six days (using the rapid results plan). I then average between 3 – 5 pounds for the next 5 weeks. Total weight loss 32 pounds. I think for those of you who are not losing weight (if u really aren’t cheating), that maybe you have selected the wrong body type. I do walk every other day for 30 minutes at a moderate pace. I also do about 20 minutes a day of light weights (5/8/10 pound weights). Good luck to each of you. BTW, what is up with those greens? I was eating steamed collard greens and it seemed like it was never ending. Drink lots of water and absolutely no sugar or salt.

VGL: It works! After 6 weeks, I lost 26 pounds. It’s time consuming to prepare the meals, but we do everything on Sunday for the upcoming week. Hubby didn’t do as well (I think he cheated at lunch!) but still lost weight.

Lu: Please understand, I am very new to the program – I just started and I am losing weight, which is very exciting. I have tried so many different products and losing weight is probably one of the hardest things that one could do. With the amount of weight I have to lose, I know that Six weeks is not going to be enough time but it is a start and I hope to see some major differences in my weight and body measurements. Based on the blueprinting, I am a Type A, which means I store fat and have a sluggish metabolism. Learning to eat food without salt is a major adjustment and I never considered myself a person that needed a lot of salt. Learning to season food differently and not cook with fat are my two biggest challenges. This fight to lose weight is not going to be easy and my goal is to stick with the program through the various parts.

Christina: I tried this program a year ago and lost 75 lbs. No, I didn’t do it in 6 weeks. My body took a little longer to respond, but once it did I was thrilled with the results. Losing 75lbs slowly allowed my skin to shrink with me instead of being loose. I feel great and I hope it works for you too. I tried diets all my life – Weight Watchers (twice), Atkins (which worked but 6WBMO started me losing where Atkins stopped), Pritikin and many others. This is a diet I can live with and stick to. It’s a little more work to prepare food, but I pick one day and cook for two week’s meals. I hardly think about it now. I freeze prepared meats, and eat most other foods fresh saving me a lot of time. I’m a busy person on the go all day and evening. Preparing some ahead of time also keeps me from getting bored or grabbing food I shouldn’t eat when I’m hungry and tired. My husband is anti-health food and he lost weight just by eating meals with me plus some because he was not on the plan.

Christina: Okay, sorry for taking up more space, but after reading a few comments I wanted to say one more thing. I did not find this diet regimented. After losing so much weight I gave myself a treat day. I don’t consider this cheating. I reached my goal and although I don’t want junk as often, I don’t beat myself up if I have a piece of cake at a birthday (small sliver which usually doesn’t taste as good as I remember anyway.) Dieting is not supposed to be torture. Do what works for you and find a tool like 6WBMO that you can use realistically for your lifestyle and choices.

I noticed that there have been several body types represented in these blogs but everyone has commented on eating the same food and the same types of meals. If that’s the case, why the blueprinting?

deedee9: I bought and tried this diet. I did manage to lose some weight, however it made me too miserable because the food was horrible. The recipe ingredients were difficult to find and expensive. It was also very difficult and tedious trying to carry all of the food around with you to work and school and trying to stick to eating every 2-3 hrs like clockwork. I think it’s a great diet for those who want to remain on a strict diet for the rest of their lives (long-term). But for me I’m looking for something that can really fit into my life because I’m about to become a nurse and for those nurses out there, you know how hard it is to even get a 30 min break!!! You know how hard it would be to try to stuff our face with food every 2-3 hrs working a 12-hr shift. I’m really looking for a diet that is long-term and doesn’t require lots of prep time!!! Anyone have any suggestions?????

Roberta: This worked great for me and i lost the weight. A year later, I am starving every 2.5 hours, successfully reprogramed the appetite, metabolism. JTLAEIV: I started this program after being off the program for more than a year. I saw great results the first time (I lost 25 lbs in 6 weeks just by eating the foods basically because I didn’t stick to the exercise regime..maybe I walked 6 times in 6 weeks). Every would give me compliments about my weight loss and it was awesome. I felt better, I felt sexier, I finally found something that worked. So the question is what happened? I started eating the forbidden foods for my body type. I didn’t gain the weight fast but after being off the program for about 3-4 months the weight came back. What does that tell me? That I did change my body. If I hadn’t I feel that the weight would have come back much quicker. The guarantee is not that “you will” lose 30 lbs but “up to” 30 lbs. If you noticed that you weren’t losing weight and were actually following the plan correctly, it may have been good to call customer service and speak with a representative. I used that service alot. It is a plus because many other programs don’t give you life time support. This plan is a life time committment, that doesn’t mean that after you lose the weight, you can’t have a cheat day or add things back into your diet but you can’t just go all out and disregard the hard work you put in. I started for the 2nd time on Monday. After less than 1 week, I have noticed that my stomach is strinking even with my mcycle on. My face is smaller and yet, again, I haven’t started walking or haven’t even attempted the sculpting routine. I like this because my body type didn’t change within this time but I can get back on the band wagon. I don’t have to pay for the program again because I already have the tools I need. I need to lose a total of about 80-90 pounds and I will, with the 6WBM. The main thing is not to defeat yourself by thinking ahead to when you can eat the things you used to eat. You really never what to do that because if you do, you will go back to where you are now or you’ll possibly gain more. Think in lines of making a committment to yourself, to your health, to your life because you love yourself and appreciate the life that God has given you and want to show him that you appreciate it.

Leslie: I just received my 6 week body makeover package. However, I am a vegan. I don’t eat meat or any animal products. This means no cheese, milk, yogurt, eggs, fish. I was disappointed to see that this plan does not offer menu plans for people like me. Another disappointing thing is that when I called to inquiry about this, i got a voice message saying that customer service is closed. I thought that a program such as this would have operators available. They are open only from Monday – Friday from 11:00 am – to 5:00 pm. I called them on Saturday. I then called again on Monday at 10:00 am, and there was no one I could speak to. So with no where else to turn, I turned to this blog to post my comments. I hope they helped. Sophie: I am starting this tomorrow, my mom got it first and lost 17 pounds in the first two weeks. The weight loss slowed after that but she admits that she started eating some different foods because she got tired of the same stuff over and over in oder for this diet to work you HAVE to follow it exactly. This is a fabulous plan for lifetime success. This is not a fad diet but more of a plan of information to anyone who is not eating healthy..regardless of whether or not they have weight to lose. This diet receives an A+ from me, and i had to lose 100 pounds. I did so, successfully on this plan. I see alot of negative comments that i perceive as sour grapes.

Donna Snead: I ordered the six week body makeover kit, this is one of the hardest programs I have ever seen, I kept it for one week tried to figure the program out, and never did. Please do not order unless you have $130.00 to throw away because that is what it will cost you. They charge you $65. shipping and handling charge that is surposelly none refundable, then when you send it back it cost you another $65, that is $130 total. What a rip off!!!!! I have never dealt with anyone like this before. I did the payment plan they took $111.39.out of my account.And only gave me back $45. So, if you have the money to blow, and the brains to figure out this stupid diet, then go for it.I have dealt and bought many things off the T.V before and they aways give you back what they take out including the s&h charges. Very sad company to deal with.

happy 6WBM customer: I followed the 6WBM to the letter- including the portions, food recommendations, and I walked for an hour a day for 6 days. I lost 9 pounds by the end of the first week. I didn’t continue it because I wasn’t ready to maintain the change in lifestyle, and I stopped losing weight. Not their fault, and I’m grateful that I know what I need to do when I’m ready to take it up again. I truly believe that those who blame the program for not working aren’t being honest with themselves, or simply didn’t read all the material and/or aren’t doing it correctly- either aren’t eating properly, often enough, or aren’t doing the walking/exercises. Katie: After the initial week and a half or so, I found the Six WeeK Body Makeover to be very difficult to maintain. the food portions were quite small, i was almost alwyas still hungry, and I felt like i was exercising almost all the time. It was just not a sustainable lifestyle for me. I’m not saying that the diet is bad or whatever, just that for me it was too strict and not the way to go. It might be good for a ‘crash diet’ if you wanna lose some water weight or whatever, but I didn’t like it as an actual way of life. but for some it might be great, and that’s why there are all different diets.

Mg: I had a similar experience as the comments posted by Jtlaeiv (and others). I went on the 6wbm program last year and lost about 40 lbs in 6 – 8 weeks. It is true that you must stick to the diet (your specific plan) and eat all the foods/portion sizes. It took a week or so for my body to get used to eating more often, and smaller portions…but, then my metabolizm kicked in and really started burning the fat. My experience was that i was never hungry, but never full/stuffed – i felt content as you eat ever 2-3 hrs, 5-6 times per day. Unfortunately, like many others … i slowly went off this lifestyle change and started eating fast foods, buffets/bigger meals, beer (more beer)…and my weight slowly started coming back on. I’ve gained back about 15 lbs in the past 6 months, but and committed to go back on this plan again because i know it works. **It is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change**. Once you reach your goal weight, you can have the occassion cheat, beer or whatever you want as long as its in moderation. If you change your lifestyle back to the fast foods and beer..well then the weight starts coming back. That is not the program’s fault, that is your own lifestyle choice to not eat properly. As far as the price, yes it’s a bit more …but you can share the program with family and friends, and keep the information for life. I think its worth it.

CJ: I wish I had stayed with this program. It was the best thing I ever tried, and, tomorrow I am beginning again. I am 58 (soon to be 59) years old. When I first tried the plan I was 56. It works – trust me. I lost 75 lbs. in 6 months…I wasn’t that far from my goal, but I got a new job and backslid terribly – long hours, stress, personnel issues (I’, a manager). I could have lost a lot more during that time, but I am a super cook (or so I am told) and was always looking to tweak it so I wouldn’t be bored (or so I thought!). However, I wasn’t foolish enough to think that I would lose all that weight in 6 weeks…come on folks, get real. One of the best recipes is the stuffed bell peppers (from the recipe cards)…I know you aren’t supposed to have oils, but, I have some heart issues and heart-wise I used extra-virgin olive oil for some things…I stuffed baked potatoes with chicken or pork or red meat – whatever portion I was allowed…my husband didn’t even know that he was eating according to his body type, and he lost! If you don’t lose weight then you either weren’t honest when you did the blueprinting or you chose not to eat what you should. In mho, this is in NO way a scam! Oh, and btw, I did VERY little exercise as I have bad knees. I also have arthritis…but I still managed to redefine some areas…and I was able to fit in smaller sizes that I never thought I would be in again. So, to all of you naysayers, you really didn’t give it a try. If it were that easy, EVeryone would be doing it and this country would have no problems. As for those who say it is too expensive? Well, you are eating much smaller portions of nutritious food, ounces instead of pounds – it is cheaper than a doctor’s bill, and cheaper than medication, by far. Veggies are cheap in the summer, and frozen veggies are cheap all year long…there are lots of blogs and recipes on line for this program. You have to be creative and WANT to do this…REALLY want to do this…see you slimmer!

Cindy: This diet was great and worked really well. I was mentally prepared for it and went into it whole-heartedly. I lost 35 pounds in 7 weeks. I was never hungry and ate a lot and almost didn’t want to eat everything I had to. Jamie: Well about five yrs ago I did the 6 week body makeover. I was impressed to say the least. I did not follow the workout plan because I personally was a bit lazy. I did how ever follow the food plan and I went with the rapid results plan. I did have a few slip ups and I wrote down everything I ate. I lost 26lbs in the 6wks. I felt better and I looked better. I will be doing it again since I have gained the 26 plus more but thats has nothing to do with the diet itself…its me :) It really helped me to understand food thats perfect for me and it wasnt awuful food either. It was healthy.

Nancy: My husband and I have been doing the 6 week body makeover since April and this is September, nearly 5 months. We each lost about 21-23 lbs within the initial 6 weeks. If you stick with the diet exactly you will lose what the say. I have at this point lost 44.5 lbs and my husband-42 lbs. We stick with the diet 3/4 of the time. There are times when we eat out or at a function then get right back on it. If you want to lose weight and feel great this diet is for you. The initial cost is alot but it is worth it. Anonymous: I did 3 6-week rounds and lost 50 lbs. That’s a solid 50 lbs. Not water weight! Not glycogen muscle stores or lean body mass!! What I can determine was solid fat at the rate of 2.5 lbs. per week. Michael taught me how to breathe while I walked. I walked 2 miles every other day and did deep abdominal breathing the whole way, 4 steps inhale 2 steps exhale AND I bought a sport watch to check my heart rate to stay within the fat burning zone the whole way. Tough at first, it’s easy today. After 18 weeks, I’m ready to move to a light jog. My blood pressure has plummeted! Cholesterol dropped from 225 to 169. I used those exercise bands and spent lots of time organizing the exercising routine to be efficient. Michael says to pay close attention to the loss of body inches; so I kept a biweekly list on a spreadsheet. My hips dropped 8 inches, my waist 7 inches. I’m learning to increase my caloric intake to about 1800 – 2000 a day with the emphasis on CARBS!! I don’t want to lose these last few pounds as quickly AND I want to be left with a solid eating style I can enjoy the rest of my life. Putting fatty acids, not FAT back, is very important. I will not eat salty foods, sugary foods, or empty sodas ever again. I feel good and once I grow my hair back I’ll be overjoyed. Better to be bald than dragging around 50 pounds for what? A hairy round head on a fat round body? Forget it!! 50 pounds gone forever with a life style of good habits, thanks to Michael Thurmond. I’m very blessed, but it was also because I was willing to work hard, discipline myself and learn new skills.

Ruth: I tried this a few years ago. You must discipline yourself to keep with the program, and you must be able to cook. The results I got were the best I have ever had on any weight loss program. I can’t recall the exact weight I lost, but I know I did go down 4 clothes sizes in 12 weeks. You definately need to commit to the program and stick with it for it to work.

kathy: It really, really works. BUT you have to follow the INCREDIBLY strict rules to the letter. No fat, no sugar, no salt, no dairy, no carbonated soda, no bread, no pasta, nothing but white meat, potatoes, green veggies and fruit. BORING. Lots of exercise. I never gained a pound in the 16 years I lived there. It wasn’t until I joined the Army and was stationed in the U.S. that I packed on the pounds from eating out and constantly snacking. I also became an emotional eater. Here I am, 80 pounds heavier and arthritic. Thank you to those of you who acknowledged that the plan takes effort and a change of attitude. I am totally prepared for whats to come!

Lulu: I have to say, I have been reading some of the negative comments about this program and just don’t understand how, if you stick to this plan, you can go wrong. I was on this program once before, lost over 25 lbs, and due to my own negligence put most of it back on. I am back on track with it though and have dropped 17lbs in 4 weeks. You have to be careful to measure everything and really read labels. Takes some self discipline, but the plan also nicely lays out exactly what you need to do in a very common sense way. You just have to be willing to read the book and follow through. I did not watch the videos, and I opt for the fitness center instead but do try to use the recommended exercise techniques. As far as comments about the price, well, how much does it cost to go to the doctor for weight related issues like bad knees, planter faschitis, heart disease, high cholesterol. Simple blood tests run you upwards of $300. PLUS, what you spend on the program, you will save on the grocery bill once you realize what a normal portion size is for an average adult! I have about 55lbs to go yet until I have reached my target weight, I know realistically I will not do it in 6 weeks, but for myself and my children and potential grandchildren, whom I greatly look forward to playing with when they come, I consider this a sacrifice worth making. This is the only plan that has worked for me and given me the tools to help put me on a path to better health. I hope some of you sceptics will reconsider. Overall, I am very pleased with this program!

Kat: Holy Cow!!! YES – IT WORKS!! But oh, is it hard!!! You have to really want it everyday and follow the meal plans perfectly!!! If you do, there will be results!!! I lost 13 pounds the first week, 8 pounds the next two weeks and an average of 5-7 pounds the final three weeks!!! For a total of 47 pounds lost in 6 weeks!! The first week is hard, I made everything four to five days ahead of time, portioned them out, and ALWAYS planned ahead. There is no room for error, but there is opportunity for much success!!

Diane: I have done this diet and It is the only one for me. I lost 24 pounds the first 6 weeks, then in 3 months I lost a total of 40 pounds. It REALLY does work. But the key to it is NOT cheating at all. And to have a buddy to do this with. I started with a friend and we both had amazing results. By month 6 I was down 55 pounds and she was down 60.

Courtney: All diets work, but the only diet that will work for you is one that you will work at. For me I have tried LA Weight Loss, Nutrisystem, Weight Watchers, Atkins and countless others. I tried SWBM, and no I did not expect to lose all of my weight in 6 weeks, but in 6 weeks I lost 17 lbs which is a good start on the 45 I needed to lose. The 6 weeks is to prove to people that yes, in as little as 6 weeks you can start to see major changes in your body. I don’t follow my plan, I’m a C, exactly. I have made some modifications, such as still using salt, that will probably slow my weight loss down, but if those modifications help me make a lifestyle change instead of just going on a diet, then I don’t care if I lose slower. I am missing half my thyroid thanks to cancer, we thought I was going to have to be put on thyroid medication, as soon as I started SWBM my thyroid function recovered and I was actually functioning above normal! Medical evidence that eating more frequently and eating a balance of foods appropriate for my body type can have a major impact on my metabolism.

Karin: I really don’t have a review as I have just started to research this program. I do have an observation though. When I did the “Blueprint your Body” online, one day I came up with a B and the next day I came up with a C. There is a very LARGE chance that if this program is not working for a particular person, they may have gotten their Body Type incorrect. If you are not getting results, look at your body type again and start over. For me it was a matter of clicking one box one day and not clicking it the next. Don’t be hasty about determining your body type. Be honest with yourself and make sure you answer every accurately.

I thought that I would try it for 6 weeks, only be out $40 and get that right back when it didn’t work (just like all of the other programs I had tried.) This program did exactly what it said it would. In the first 5 weeks, I had lost 25 pounds. I was afraid I would have loose skin, so I slowed it down intentionally and lost 20 more pounds over the next 4 months. It takes planning to be sure that you have the right food to eat every 2-3 hours, but if you commit to it, it will work. P.S. I lost all that weight without exercising AT ALL!

Feelin'Good: I have been on the SWBM for 11 days and have lost 10 lbs. I believe the basic rule for me (Body Type B) is: no oil, no salt, no sugar, no flour. If I live by those rules, and exercise, the program will live up to its name. If you are not losing weight, it is because you are not strictly adhereing to the program.

It tells you what to eat for your body shape, how much, how often and if you follow it completely, you will see results. It even has a guide for when you go out to resturants so you dont have to avoid going out with friends. All you need is discipline and to follow what is laid out in front of you and it’ll work. Alina: Jesus, have none of you people ever heard of Ebay? I got mine on there for less than half the price of the website and it was a new kit. I’ve seen nothing but whiners on here. Oh it’s hard, oh I can’t have this or that. Get over it. If you want to lose weight you have to get off your *** and do something about it. When has table salt ever been natural? And I saw someone complaining about having to eat unprocessed foods. God forbid you eat the way human genetics has intended. You obviously love eating food if you’re fat so why is eating 5-6 times a day a problem(don’t give me that crap about a glandular problem either because I’m hypothyroid myself)? I’m a Type A which is the most difficult eating plan and I’m having no problems. It took me 3 hours to cook every meal for the whole week. And if you think I’m eating poorly you’re more of an idiot than you were two minutes ago. For lunch I’m having garlic shrimp, noodles and a salad. For a snack I get banana pudding. For dinner I get spicy chicken, a baked potato and veggies. Everything is in the correct portions that the food pyramid recommends. There are an infinite number of recipes on the website that you can mix and match to your heart’s content. My food tastes awesome with the spices I’m using. It teaches you to measure your portions properly and make better eating choices. And yes, if you get to the end and start eating the way you did before you’re going to gain it back. Once again if you think otherwise. Stop trying to blame the plan because you went back to fatty or fried foods and gained weight. This plan doesn’t promise that you’ll lose 30lbs in 6 weeks. It says you can lose up to that amount. Some people have lost anywhere from 10 to 42 in that time depending on what they weighed to begin with. Over time as you lose weight you can retype your body. Some people have body types to begin with that doesn’t have them restrict much other than the salt, dairy and fatty foods and they can have red meat or bread. After you reach goal weight you switch to Living Lean which means you can slowly start adding things back in like dairy and whole grain breads etc. Once you start gaining you can figure out what you’re having too much of. Honestly you can probably expect to gain a minor amount back after the plan but you need to have a “red flag weight” that tells you you need to adjust something once you go over it. Jennifer: i did lose 5 pounds in a week, but after that i barely lost anything…maybe 1 pound in 4 weeks! and i worked SUPER HARD DOING CARDIO AND WEIGHT TRAINING WITH TRAINER ON SIDE. Very hard to follow this diet as it says…very strict. eating that fresh all the time every day is unrealistic, but did lose 5 pounds in the first week! so anyone wanting to lose quick this is your diet! and i have kept it all off!! if you can keep this up long long term it probably would work too. but you won’t have new body in 6 weeks.

Dawn: I’ve been doing the SWBMO for two weeks and have dropped a total of 22 lbs. I’m not going to lie – it’s hard work and at times sucks to follow. BUT, it works. Honestly, how could it not? Protein, light carbs, veggies and fruit in moderation…I really think those who didn’t see results didn’t follow the program as they should have. I’ve tried Atkins, Weight Watchers, South Beach…followed them to a T and not much to show. This program (past the first week, which is the worst) works, doesn’t make you feel sick and so far (I’m blushing) I haven’t exercised at all! Find what works for you, but whatever you do stick to it – there are no quick fixes out there!

dway: well it is almost crazy to read some of the crap that is on here one lady is 100lbs over do you really think you will lose it in 6wks of course not,i am on the 6wbmo and it is indeed strict but suck it up you want something for nothing and that is not how the world works sad that something does not work because your to lazy to stick it out i gained 80 lbs when i got pregnant and lost 62 off of exercise alone hard to do but i am a marine and tend to be extra when i work out”NO PAIN NO GAIN” working out is not hard taking a walk is the easiest thing you can do use the stairs instead of the elevator you have to put something in to get something out and some of the comment calling 6wbmo a scam that is just BS because you were to greedy and lazy to stick to it do not call it a scam i was 216 when i started the diet and two weeks later i an 199 and i workout already i don’t eat past 5:30 or 6 in a nut shell i am saying it work but you have to give it a little extra push to get what you are looking for out of the diet i will post my updastes to prove it work all you need is a little extra motivation like a wedding summer time vacation in the bahamas

celeste: I just got the swbm and I almost had an anxi*ty attack trying to interpret it all. I don’t think that it is user friendly and even though you eat all the time, the portions are so very small that you are still left feeling hungry. Wouldn’t reccomend this to anyone. No Salt, No Dairy, No Breads, and the list of No’s continues.

CLARE: I DID THE 6 WEEK BODY MAKEOVER BEFORE MY WEDDING AND LOST 15 POUNDS IN THAT 6 WEEKS. FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS BEFORE MY WEDDING I CONTINUED TO EAT HEALTHY AND USE MODERATE EXERCISE AND LOST 5 MORE POUNDS. I EVEN CHEATED ON WEEKENDS. I FELT SO GOOD AND COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW FAST MY METABOLISM WAS. I BECAME PREGNANT ON OUR HONEYMOON AND WENT BACK ON THE DIET AFTER HAVING OUR DAUGHTER TO RID THE BABY FAT. IT SEEMED HARDER TO STICK WITH THE DIET WHEN I WAS AT HOME ALL DAY (TEMPTATION EVERYWHERE) AND NOT AT WORK. I STILL LOST ALL OF THE BABY WEIGHT IN THAT 6 WEEKS AND ALREADY AM BACK INTO MY PRE PREGO CLOTHES. IT REALLY WORKS IF YOU ARE COMPLETELY DETERMINED TO LOSE WEIGHT. Christina: As I read through these posts, all I hear are a bunch of ppl complaining abut having to exercise ( God forbid, maybe that’s why your fat to begin with) and pay money. To me, to lose 30 lbs in 6 weeks would be amazing. And if it doesn’t work, I can return it. You do realize it costs more than $20 a month to go to a gym right? Oh wait..that’s right, no one exercises. Well I’m gonna try it. Can’t hurt to learn to eat better and be more active.

golfher: Just starting this program this coming week. I have cooked several meals today and froze them in preparation for my new outlook on how to eat and lose weight. The meals I prepared tasted really good and hearty. My husband loved the vegetarian chili recipe the most! I’ll be trying my best to make this a lifestyle change. It’s got to be better than eating all that processed poison I’ve been stuffing myself with; which btw makes me feel lousy and tired all the time.

Rose: The program is VERY detailed but for those of us that have struggled with our weight since like birth, we need a step by step guide. It seeems to me that the diet plan is low fat, moderate carbs and proteins. Its a good mix. I have read and read about other diets. I lost over 100 lbs on the Adkins diet and have stopped losing wieght and haven’t gained any of it back in over 7 yrs. I will start the 6 wk body makeover in a couple weeks once when life slows down a bit. I am so excited. Its a very non-restricting diet with a great blend of exercises. The cost is a lot less than 50 bucks a month and a contract at a gym. If it doesn’t work I can return it or use what I can out of it. I have nothing to lose but pounds and inches.

Erin: I started the SWBM program 20 days ago and I’ve lost 14 lbs! My clothes fit better and I’m definitely noticing the difference. The information regarding the foods that you should and shouldn’t eat make perfect sense. It will be EASY to choose the foods and quantities that are right for me once I get to my goal weight. Quit complaining that you actually have to pay attention to what you eat, that you have to read a little, and exercise a little. Nothing is free!

Janice: The plan works. Plain & simple. But you have to follow it. Duh. I have only been on it for 3 days and have lost 7 – yes, 7 lbs. I was worried that eating 5 times a day was going to cause me to gain weight, but everything is going exactly as the plan says. Again, you HAVE TO FOLLOW IT EXACTLY. No added salt or fat when cooking, measure out your food, etc. It’s not brain surgery – in fact, the most difficult part is remembering to eat the mid-morning and mid-afternoon meals. So for those of you have haven’t tried it, shut up until you do. And for those of you who said you have tried it and it didn’t work, be honest with yourself, you couldn’t have followed the plan as you needed to as it is fool proof. And well worth $125 – I’ve spent thousands more on BS that didn’t work.

Breanne: I think a lot of people on here are going about this all wrong. Do you want to lose weight or don’t you? I see a lot of people saying “well, I don’t like reading that much,” or “I don’t think I’m going to last the full 6 weeks, it’s too long”. If you say that, then you’re not. The whole point in reading everything is so you understand what you have to do. It is a full lifestyle change, and those of us who are serious about losing weight and staying healthy will do just fine on this program. They tell you what to eat and in what portions and tell you what exercises to do. How hard is that? Anyone with a little bit of motivation and will power will lose the weight. Stop making excuses, get off your butt, and do the work. That’s the only way you’re going to see results. I am very excited to go on this program!

morg: i am on my third week of the six week body makeover diet. my mother and i are doing it together, i have lost eight pounds so far and she has lost fifteen pounds. this diet has definatley been working for us, however i do see how it would be very difficult to embark on this journey alone. it is a very strict diet, but well worth the effort.

suz: i have been on swbm for just a week, and i have lost 7 pounds! that’s a pound a day! thanks swbm! i hope it keeps coming off… swim suit season is coming up!!!! i couldn’t have done it without swbm!

DaniB: I ordered this diet with such high hopes. My husband and friend started the diet with me. We all lost weight the first week-however it had terrible side effects for me-my hair started f*lling out, my lips were so dry they bl*d all the time and my entire body in general was just too dry-no amount of lotion or water (I was drinking 150ozs a day!) seemed to cure it. Plus the prep work is INSANE. I am a good cook-love to cook-but could not stand the prep involved with this diet. I spent a average of 10 hours a week in the kitchen just cooking and rationing out our food. And you better like tomotoes, onions, peppers and garlic because that pretty much all you can eat. Terrible.

Sue: I ordered this program two weeks ago when there was a ‘free’ express delivery offered. until yesterday, they hadn’t even posted my purchase on my account…and I definitely have not had any express delivery. Haven’t received anything. No express delivery. Represents the program as deceptive.

Sue: I just got thru reading thru some of the blogs…this is not a diet it is a healthier way to eat. We are so used to eating what we want and then complaining about our weight. Let’s all face it we have to make a commitment and stick to it…this is not a quick fix and it is not a diet to go on and then after the six weeks you go back to your crazy eating habits. I have enough common sense to know that my eating habits is what has gotten me where I am today. I got my swbm a little over a month ago and have lost 17 lbs. Once I have lost the weight I am wanting to lose I will then go on a maintenance plan that allows 1 day per week to eat what ever you want. Let’s be sensible people and let’s take control of our own situation and weight loss woes. Make a commitment today to be healthier….

Dave M: WTG Chris and others that recognize that we are an overall lazy people and do not want to take control of our own issues and deal with them… I was no different for a long time but when I got up to 365# at 6′2″ enough was ENOUGH!!! If you think the 6WBMO is strick I did the HCG diet for the last 9 months (46 days on 8 weeks off) I did it three times and lost 100# and now am starting this and let me say this is NOT restrictive at all in comparison, it just makes you WORK( I know… not WORK!!!) C’mon folks nothing has ever been easy except for getting fat (Fun to). This will work if you have just a shred of self control, yes SELF CONTROL, that’s all just some self control and you can do this, it’s that easy and take it from someone who is as lazy as the next person YOU CAN DO IT! It is not anger telling people that they need to have self control or discipline it’s just the truth we want everything on a silver plater and that just isn’t the way it goes. Sorry!

Michelle: I have been on 6wbmo for 6 weeks and have lost 25 pounds so far. Yes, it is strict when you consider it does not allow you to eat salt, sugar, fat and breads. But guess what contributed to my obesity, salt, sugar, fat and bread! It surely wasn’t eating lean protein, fresh vegetable, fruit and drinking plenty of water. Also a lot of us starve ourselves through out the day and then over eat at lunch or dinner. You do not do this with this program which is what makes it more manageable and boosts your metabolism. Believe me, if there was a diet that continuously worked where I could eat foods laden with salt, sugar and fat I would do it. But there is no such thing. Also, besides losing weight, you benefit by saving your body from consuming the things that are dangerous to our hearts. High blood pressure and diabetes are issues we have to face and keeping those harmful things out of our bodies does help prevent disease. So do I think now that 6 weeks is over I can go back to eating what made me fat to begin with? Of course not. And doing this program has helped me realize it. And just like with any calorie reduction, you will lose more weight the first week, but with this program you will continue to lose weight as long as you continue to stick with it. But if you want a quick fix, this is going to be to hard as this is a long term solution.

Says who?: Anyone who has actually tried the 6wbm and taken the time to really read the material knows that it does work. Most of the people who say that the plan doesn’t work either haven’t tried it, didn’t take the time to learn the plan to make it work for them or gave up before they start. To me all those things are excuses! Maybe it’s not simple and it can be restrictive most definatly for picky eaters. But this program doesn’t call itself a diet it’s a lifestyle change. It teaches how to lose weight fast and keep it off forever! It makes me mad when people make uneducated assumptions and ruin the chances of someone else who is desperate for a program that could potentially change their lives. This program promotes healthy eating with sveral small meals focusing on whole unprocessed foods and customized workout and sculpting plans to help the normal person obtain their weightloss and fitness goals. This program also promises to return your money if it doesn’t work for you but it does work! They also have an incredible support program with online and telephone support. You also get a great and encouraging community with the makeover forums. In a nutshell you could take the advice of people that you have no clue about their health and fitness ethics and maybe lose the chance you have been waiting your whole life for. Or you can try this program and decide for yourself. Sorry if I seem really blunt I do not in anyway work for this company so i’m not trying to sell this program to anyone. Just think it should get a fair shake too!

otis hutchinson: I lost 13.4 lbs. the first week. And 3 lbs. the following week. I lift weight 4 days a week so wasn’t interested in the “body shaping” part. however the weight loss is unbelievable. I’m a type A. I can see where it might be difficult for some to follow. However the information is there and it’s pretty clear for the path to the success with the program.

Pam: Scam and they also continue billing your credit card making it almost impossible to have these charges stopped

anne: I did it for longer than 6 weeks. It takes longer than that at least for me. Everybody’s metabolism is different, but the whole thing does make sense. Different groups of food like carbs, protein, vegetables and fruits are used for different body types. There is a toll free number you can call for support, if it is hard for you to be a self-starter. My sister worked with Michael Thurmond at his gym and looks great – but she is very disciplined. This is the same guy on Extreme Makeover show that helped contestants with losing weight and body sculpting. I’m going back to it, but I also have the support of a doctor who will monitor my body chemistry by checking blood tests and consult with me. I recommend going through a doctor.

MJ: People need to really understand that all bodies are different and will react to weight loss programs at different rates. My mom got this program and lost 20lbs in 4 weeks! I am going to get it, but I honestly do not know if it will work for me. We have completely different body types and metabolism rates. Don’t knock this program before you try it! Just because your body doesn’t let it work, doesn’t mean it won’t work for others!

Aaron: I have battled my weight nearly my entire life. I have successfully completed diets in the past but I have also determined that the more effective approach for me is to make gradual adjustments to my lifestyle as drastic diet and exercise routines are difficult to adhere to. Whenever a new diet comes available, I try to learn whether it works, and discect exactly how it works. These little lessons help me maintain a fairly constant weight now. This diet does work, but it is nothing new; it is your typical “eat dirt and exercise often” diet. First the food part. The program requires you to eat five to six times daily, which is very difficult for a busy professional like myself; yet, I have figured a way out to have two little snacks during the day to meet this requirement. The other meals require you to cook though. I seem to spend a whole lot more time each week shopping, preparing, cooking, and doing dishes than I was expecting. In order for me to make this diet feasible for me, I had to adapt it a bit – who can really eat a grilled chicken breast at 10 in the morning? My usual day includes the following meals: breakfast (7 am) egg white omelette with peppers, onions, tomato (sometimes I have to swap a real egg for 1/4 cup of egg whites); morning snack (10 am) about 8 little cantalope melon balls with two pieces of low-sodium ham rolled up; lunch (1 pm) some sort of chicken or turkey sandwhich on whole wheat bread with lettuce and tomato; afternoon snack (4 pm) a small serving of either cold roasted potatoes or a no-fat potato salad with two slices of low sodium turkey; dinner (7 pm) grilled chicken breast, wheat rice, and some steamed vegetables; late evening snack (10 pm) about a cup of mixed berries – strawberries and blueberries. There are some variations for the food, but essentially it all comes down to turkey, chicken, or a white fish, every day, every meal. Their eating out guide is a real joke. Essentially, at every restaurant, it instructs you to order some sort of entree which contains grilled chicken and discard everything else; there were even a few locations that “you are better off skipping this meal” (Arby’s and Taco Bell). Now for the exercise. This program requires some sort of cardiovascular exercise each day plus a workout routine twice a week. The cardio is for the most part simply walking, but 40 minutes a day is about two miles, the theory is presented to increase your heart rate to about 100 beats per minute for a period of 20 minutes; this is good in concept, but rarely do I have a solid 40 minutes to spare each day. I try to get about a 30 minute walk in five times a week. Now for the “18 minute workout.” This is really, really misleading. Each person will have two workout routines to help define and tone your body, each session needs to be completed once per week. On the very first day of this diet, the program involves exactly 18 minutes of exercising (this is assuming you know exactly how to perform each exercise on day 1). Once you add the cooling time between sets and learning exactly what you’re supposed to be doing, you should reserve an hour… The second set includes a lot more exercises (and of course much more time). The course requires you to increase the number of sets each week, now in week five of this routine, I have to reserve about 3 hours for my day two. I do see some results from this, but 18 minutes is bull! This diet does work if you can follow it, but I really doubt this is sustainable for most people.

Christopher Bartow: I’m going to give this program a thumbs up. We just ordered it. We have done the P90X program and made huge strides and never had any billing problems or anything. The beauty of any program is following it. We will do our best to follow the diet and try not to cheat. We will lose weight. Now, everyone is complaining about what happens after the 6 weeks…..that they gained all of the weight back. Really? You gained all of the weight back? Did you do ANY exercise afterward at all? Did you join a karate class, play soccer with your kids, join a running club, buy a bike, start eating at McDonald’s again because you didn’t have time to go to the supermarket just down the road from McDonald’s and grab an apple?

MJ: I LOVE the 6 Week Body Makeover! Three years ago I ordered it from the infomercial. I recieved the product in 3 days. I began two weeks before Thanksgiving on the fast track card. By New Years, I was down 32 pounds..DURING THE HOLIDAYS and my father was hospitalized 100 miles away, so I was going to see him 3-4x week. I didn’t always have all of my meals with me and occasionally had to drive thru. . .but I learned how to make the best choice. Also during this time I did NOT do ANY of the exercise. . .it was just eating! I ende up losing 75 lbs in 6 months and HAVE KEPT IT OFF!!!(How? you ask? by not returning to old habits!) One thing in the reading, that I learned by experieince is YOU MUST HAVE YOUR FOOD READY IN ADVANCE. One the metabolism is revved up and it is time to eat, IT IS TIME TO EAT, if you do not have food ready and available, you will eat anyhting. For those who say it is too restrictive, I am guessing you are a body type A, and you can’t have bread & pasta & corn. . .think of all the wheat that must be ground to make the flour for the bread/pasta. You would have to eat 4 cups of wheat to get the same energy as you would from a slcie of bread. All that extra energy is converted into fat. As with any diet, YOU must be ready to commit to change, if you are not, then no weight loss will work. . .even gastric bypass. Good Luck

hartensia: Most amazing diet I have EVER tried. I lost 8lbs in the first few day and 15lbs the first week. I then lost from .50 to 1 lbs a day for the next three weeks. The fifth week I cheated and gain but the next week I did the six day body makeover and lost 10lbs that week. I was not hard for me and I am not a cook. I kept it simple and cooked once a week. When I was caught when out food or didn’t feel like cooking I ate egg whites, fruit and veggies. If you want easy…this easiest thing I know is to stay fat. But if you want results and are will to work the plan this will work for you.

Dee: Been on the 6 week body makeover for 1 week now and have lost 5 pounds. The food is pretty restrictive but I don’t feel like I am missing out. I eat 6 times a day and never feel hungry. It is important to do the cardio 4 to 5 times a week. Only 5 more weeks to go. I hope for continued progress.

Eve: For the person who assumes this plan is supposed to help you lose ALL your desired weight in just 6 weeks, that is a ridiculous expectation. People with significant amount of weight to lose need to stick to the plan for at least six months. It is SUPPOSED to help you lose at least 30 pounds in six weeks, or else you are allowed to return it. Even then, you have to be strictly committed to the plan. Portion control is also key. When I first bought this kit, I weighed 220 lbs and I am only 5′3″. I needed to lose almost 100 lbs just to be in a healthy weight range. I did the program exactly as instructed. After the first 6 weeks, I did not lose 30 lbs, but the 26 lbs I did lose was close enough and motivated me to continue and not give up on it. Now, 5 months later, I weigh 169 lbs. I’ve lost 50 pounds! I am so excited to continue. I expect to be 130 by my birthday in January. As long as the holidays don’t ruin me. I have to stay focused every day, I don’t want to “fall off the wagon”. LoL

Fran: I’ve rated this a ? because I have just ordered it & have not received it yet. However, I did do research on the product and was impressed with the posts on their the site by people who are on this. Most worthy weight loss plans requires effort, study, decipline. I’ve been on many over the last 30 years and within the last 5 lost 112 # on weight watchers and gained 80 back. I tried to do WW again using all of the materials and knowledge I have but I need something new. My weight loss program NEEDS to be shaken up. The approach of eating and exercising based on one’s body type is not a new method but it is new to me. I like the fact that it requires studying – keeps my hads out of the ice cream bowl. As far as the billing issues, if you listen to the sales people they review one extra, get you to say no or commit, then move on to the next “extra special”. Each one of these range from an extra 6.00 to over 30.00 per month extra. I plan on using the supplements during the first 6 to 12 weeks, seeing how my body takes them, then canceling them. Everytime a tele-marketer trys to sell you something with “free trial offer” there is most always an automatic charge at the end of the free trial period. Magazine sales, cosmetics, HSN, QVC, AT & T, even local news papers do it. If you do not want to get caught up in the extras just say no. Also remember that the person who is handling your call may be at or just above minimum wage, may have been a victim of this economic downturn and is just doing a very difficult job, maye just to be able to keep a roof over their head. So give the program the chance it deserves, someone put a lot of effort in its design and listen to the people reading the scripts and say no if you do not want the extras. If you ordered the extras and do not want them – cancel them. If you are certain that the person did not diclose that after the trial period your crdit card will be charged XX$ monthly – recall that at the beginning of the conversation they said for quality control the conversation was recorded. So if you are really havig a problem talk to an attorney, write then a certified return receipt letter telling them to stop debiting your account or you will take further action. Provide your bank or credit card with the copy of the leter and return receipt and that should be enough for the bank to reverse the charges. Good luck everyone!

Andrea: I can’t believe all of the negative comments! I’m in my 6th week and have lost 24 pounds! Yes, it’s hard! Yes, it takes a lot of planning and cooking in advance and now I have to make the time to exercise but 24 pounds don’t just fall off in 5 weeks with out commitment. I have 4 kids including 2 year old twins and when I decided to change my body, I did it. I let go of all of the excuses and followed the plan TO THE LETTER. Portion sizes, no salt, no condiments only freshly made ingredients. And I walk 4-5 times a week. I cheated and had lunch or dinner out with my family 3 times and then got right back on the horse the next day. It is the best plan for rapid weightless ever. If you want it. Or you can keep sitting there and complain about not being able to eat what you while your on “your diet??” Give me a break, the only thing keeping you from loosing weight is you. And yes….I miss chocolate cake terribly too.

stacey: I am considering trying 6WBM. I know it will take way longer than 6 weeks to “makeover” my body (at my current weight, fatter than I have EVER been)…in my previous attempts at weight loss I seem to do better with extreme structure. I know its hard and is going to take work no matter what route I go. And I am looking forward to a total lifestyle change and my Hunny is with me on it…even tho he is a twig…JERK…anyway, we agree as a household that we need to change the way we eat and what we eat and I KNOW I need to get off my fat butt…but my butt is sooo fat now that getting off it has become more difficult and painful and the exercise they advertise seems doable to me. We both have blood pressure issues and I am sure I am next in line for a diabetes diagnosis if I dont do something! Plus, at this time in my daughters’ lives (they are 12) its more important than ever for them to eat right and be active…better for me to lead by example than be the fat mom on the couch tellin’ em they cant have that cookie! These are my thoughts…any more feedback is appreciated.

Sandy: I am all for this program. Of course, all programs are not for all people. For me, Weight Watchers was too forgiving – giving me too many options and that made it easy to “fall off” the program. The food I chose to eat wasn’t the best either. With this diet, I have choices, but cake, ice cream and candy bars are not on the menu! I’m glad. Also, I do feel my metabolism revving up. The combination of foods along with the frequency of eating is working. I have only been doing this for one week, have lost 6 pounds, my arthritis is not bugging me at all, and I have not needed my prescription acid reflux meds! I feel great. O.K., so the meals can be bland. However, I have found that this is actually keeping me from wanting to over eat – you know – when something tastes so good because of the fat and salt that you cannot stop eating it? Well this will not happen on this plan. I am doing this in steps. The first week I just focused on the diet so that I could get used to it. This week I am going to add in the walking (oh yeah – if you have shorter legs like I do, the 4 steps to inhale and 2 to exhale are not reasonable – you’ll end up panting yourself to death. Just find a pattern that works for you). Next week I will beging the body sculpting. Good luck to all and I hope you find the magic.

left side: I am very uncertain about ordering this product. I have read alot about SC*MS, being charged for pills you didnot order. I don’t mind paying for the product. I also don’t appreciate being l*ied to. Have they cleaned up their act.

Lares: A friend and I started this diet on Monday. Today is Thursday and I can’t say that we’ve followed the meal plan to a T, but even still, I’ve lost 3.4 lbs so far and she lost 3.6 lbs. We’re both Type E’s, which means we pretty much get to eat quite a variety of foods. I normally forget to eat, so it does feels like work to have to eat so often, but I’m sure it’s healthy to eat balanced meals, which is what my meal plan looks like (egads – steak, chicken, meatloaf, lean pork chops, baked potatos, salads, fruit – really it’s good!) Haven’t done any of the excerises yet (maybe I’ll start those tomorrow), but I’m feeling pretty inspired by my weight loss so far, and so is my friend. It’s literally melting off. I’ve seen some negative posts here, but I don’t find the plan that complicated at all. Just eat what it suggests. Lots of little meals, so now I’m keeping a little of everything on hand, cutting out the fats, oils and dairy for a few weeks, and shedding pounds that were NOT coming off before. I don’t know if I’ll take off 30 lbs or not, but I’m happy to take any weight off at this point!

Deborah: too expensive for what you get & refund policy stinks. I guess it is my fault for not doing more research – at least I can warn other here to dig deep & do the research before the folks @ 6 Week Body Makeover DIG DEEP into your pocket.

Elizabeth: I have just completed the 6 weeks of the 6 week body makeover. If you have a lot of weight to lose and would like to get a jump start on that weight loss this is the diet for you. Will your body look entirely different after 6 weeks? Of course not. Will you lose weight? Yes you will. You need to follow it closely but also don’t be afraid to fall off the wagon once in awhile. I did and out of 60 pounds that I want to lose I lost 25 pounds within the 6 weeks. Now that the 6 weeks are over I’ve been averaging 2-3 pounds a week plus adding in a few more carbs (always good carbs :) and treating myself to a cocktail now and then. I feel great and personally it was made easier for me because I saw something happening right away. For those who say that the weight comes right back…. you need to realize that if you want to keep the weight off, this is a life style change. It doesn’t mean that you can’t ever again have food or drink that you enjoy. Everything in moderation. Light exercise, elliptical or even just an old fashioned walk will work. I am a woman over 50 years old so weight loss can come harder for me but in all honesty the SWBM made it easier.

Emily: Ok, I’m not going to call anyone out…or name call. I’m just going to say that, as someone else pointed out, this diet takes all of the guess work out of counting calories. If you’re not measuring your food or watching the portions then why are you even trying this? It’s very specific with what amounts of foods you should be eating. It doesn’t say “about 3 oz” …just “3 oz.” They sell food scales so that you can measure things like this. Most of us are in the position of needing to lose weight because of a lack of portion control. I’m sorry, but it’s science. If you follow the diet to a T and exercise, there’s no way you couldn’t lose weight. Just FYI, you can buy used kits off of EBAY for a fraction of the cost which is what I did. It was $50 and was only missing the band so I bought one for $6 at walmart. Also, there’s talk about things being more expensive. I’ve saved so much money since being on this diet because since you’re eating the same types of things you can buy in bulk. It’s not true that veggies cost more than packaged foods. I spend the same amount per week on groceries that I used to spend in one dinner out somewhere. You can make excuses, but as someone else said, you’re the problem, not the diet. Again, it’s science…

Alice: I have just started the SWBM. I have read some of the disappointed posts and I have to say I ma confused as to how this system could be found at all difficult to follow. It is clear you have to stop eating fat and simple carbs that your body turns readily into fat and start eating foods in regular small quantities that your body can process for energy without having food left over and nothing to do with it but store fat. I think expectations are important. You cant expect to feed your body low quality food and for it to perform. The meals are measured in oz so a scale is required. I initially thought this might be a little tedious but actually its easy and it means I prepare severl meals at at a time. I have only been on it for 4 days so far but I am already feeling better health wise. I havent started the exercises yet but I watched the video and it is very clear and professional so I dont expect to have trouble doing the exercises. I hope to lose quite a bit of weight but I can say that so far I ma not hungry actually I have to make myself eat all the meals. I find it so far to be a well thought through system and no surprises the food is healthy unprocessed and I see no reason why I wont lose all the weight.

Sallie: I find this type of program very time consuming and not at all flexible like Weight Watchers. If you work full-time and have a family to take care of, this is not the program for you. Trying to eat a meal every 3 hours with certain types of food is impossible at a work environment like a hospital. Also, the foods are too restrictive.

Robert 44: The diet really works great. I have used it a few times for seven years now. The weight comes off with no hunger, not much strain, and stays off until I revert to anti-diet behavior. Too many cakes, cookies, donuts, bears, junk food, plus I eat when stressed.

Terrylynn: I recieved my diet kit on friday and am starting it in the morning. Had to get rid of all the junk food in the house first and I spent this evening preparing all my fish, chicken and turkey for my meals. I am really going to miss my COFFEE. I have a body type B so if anyone out there has any advice for me please feel free to speak on. I have completely read the kit and all the information and at this point I believe it is just going to be a matter of will power.

jenn: Wow as I read these comments it seems that most of you just seem to lazy to give it a go. No harm in seeing what it is all about and going with it for a few weeks to see if you get the results. No one diet will work for everyone. For those of you that say it is just to expensive.. Really?? come on. I spent 4 grand at a weight loss center a few years back so I think that 120 is very reasonable. I am a stay at home mother and my husband works full time we pretty much live paycheck to paycheck yet we found a way to pay for it. Weight isnt just going to come off by sitting around and not changing habits. :) If it is worth having it is worth fighting for.

jenny: yea for all u non believers out there ur crazy today is my official 6th week and ive lost 27lbs n yes i cheated a few times n still lost almost the thirty that they say u can loose but seriously saying that its too confusing(really???????i dont even own the program) and to much work is outragous im one of the laziest ppl around and even i did it and i never let me repete never eat the same thing two days in a row and im body type b which doesnt leave me much to choose from (as some of u r saying) as far as costs i have no comment because i got off my step mom whos doing it as well as my sister me and now a really good friend of mine we have all lost over 20 lbs we r all different body types and they dont even work out ever im absoulutly in love with this new life style no problem at all and im loving the ways my body is transforming right befoe my eyes none of my clothes even fit me anymore! as for the woman who is havein hair loss, umm….. vitiamins!!! my doc recomended that i take calcium, vit. D and a multi vitiam if anything i think im hair n nails r growing faster ( vit.E is really good for hair too) well now that my six weeks r up im not gonna quit im goin to continue to stay on it and work out and eat eat eat!!! oh yea n i work 1full time job 2part time jobs and i go to school :) iv wanted to loose weight so bad and now i am u can to!! frenchie: I started Jan.1,2011. I weighed 347lbs.I weighed myself today, March1,2011 and I weigh 311 lbs.! It does work, BUT you have to commit to it!I have been VERY careful..No salt NO dairy No bread it’s tough…but it gets easier and NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!! Good Luck!

Krissy: I am on my 3rd week and absolutely love this program. I have lost 11 pounds so far, but have not weighed in 4 days…I suspect I have lost a few more. My love for this program comes from the fact that I truly believe I can follow this for the rest of my life, because this plan makes sense. We are not supposed to consume all those processed foods as provided by restaurants and fast food chains. But on this plan they prepare you fully to go out to eat- they recognize it is an inevitability. They even tell you what you can eat at specific restaurants which is awesome! I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a commitment, because it IS. Cravings do come and go, and your willpower will definitely be tested. But if you can stick to this for 6 weeks, learn how to cook meals in advance and exercise as much as you can, you WILL see what a great plan this is. You may even want to continue…I know I will! But if you are not committed to that extent, it is OKAY. It is a choice you have to make. Good luck everyone with your weight loss!

blondie: I tried 6wtbm ten years ago and got amazing relults. I loaned it out and never got it back. Anyway I just ordered it agian for my husband and myself, now I wouldn’t spend that much money agin if I wasn’t sure it would work. The thing is losing weight isn’t easy plain and simple!! There is no majic pill, believe me I have tried them all. You have to work hard and stick to your program whatever you decide to try. Why I let myself get back into bad eating habits Ill never know. justme: wow.. i love it!!! its just the kick start i needed.. i need to loose 100lb total and loosing the weight i did loose in 6 weeks got my butt up and going.. NO I DID NOT LOOSE THE WHOLE 100LB IN 6 WEEKS… but i did loose the 30 which like i said gave me the energy to keep going.. people who belive there going to loose more then 30lb in weeks and thn get mad when they dont desserve to loose the 120 bucks also you have to stick to it.. if you ate the meal plan they set out for you twice in one sitting then yea it wont work for you… if your lazy and dont want to work out then no it work for you.. if your in this weight loss for the long haul then yes this is for you. the way im going by next summer ill be beach ready which is a realistic goal…. some people need to learn what a realistic goal is… well have a healthy day.. i loved 6wbm

Cindy: I sent for the kit but changed my mind. They offered to knock off the price of two payments if I’d keep the product. When I declined I was told by customer service to return it which costs me $29.10. Then I called to see how long it would take to get the credit put on my card and found out that they keep half of the first months charge for shipping and handling when they sent it. That means the customer pays to have it sent AND returned. What a racket! I am very unhappy with the way they do business.

denise: Ordered this in 2005 and it worked in 2 weeks. I use the guide for my body type just to eat even when I’m not following the program strictly. You just have to have willpower for a couple of days and then u get used to it..You must plan your meals though.

vicky: I have lost over 15 pounds and 8 inches off my waist in about 5 weeks. From reading some of the negative remarks it seems like some do not want to put the effort into it that is needed for this or any diet. I am eating healthier than I have ever eaten. yes it does take some time to read the materials and plan your meals. But I have found that if I cook larger meals in the evening it will cover my diet plan for a few days so I do not have to cook everyday. I do not suggest to anyone that they take diet pills. I took phen phen and now have heart damage. I wish all of you who are wanting to loose weight the best no matter what diet plan you choose.

Kev: I ordered the Six Week Makeover and then thought I really don’t want to use this product at all. So I tried to cancel and they gave me the run around. I had already heard about the difficulties of cancelling but didn’t think much of it. I tried to cancel the same day I ordered and received that my order was not in their “system” yet so I would have to wait a day. I, then called the next day and the order had been shipped out. I told them that this sounds like a scam and gently expressed my dislike and how people had complained about this on-line.. They later called me saying that the order had not gone out as previously stated and that I would be refunded the entire amount. Just from a customer service perspective this experience was not good.

chris: I called to order SWBM and was met with a woman which tried to sell me everything under the sun. When I told her I was only interested in the SWBM for $19.99 and if she didn’t stop trying to sell me other stuff I would hang up and cancel my card, because the first thing they do is ask for your card number. Then a day later I look on my statement and find they have charged me $40. When I call to find out why there was a $40 charge instead of a $19.99 charge “JP” told me it was for the s&h just like the infomercial said. I told him the lady I spoke to didn’t advise me of what would be charged on my card, and when I asked how much would be charged she explained only the $19.99 would be taken from my account. When I asked for my money back I was told he couldn’t do that because the package has already been shipped but if I would like to send it back I could do so when the packaged arrived. When I continued to complain he said he would take 1 payment off the end of my scheduled payments for the misunderstanding. As a consumer, my most hated words to hear is, “We Can’t Do That”. Horrible customer service and I can’t wait to return it, I won’t even open the package!!

Casey: I’m starting this officially in two days, and I’m going to be doing it with my mom. To anyone who’s lost 20-30 pounds on it, which is what I’ll be loosing (hopefully) did your skin sag at all or did it shrink as well?? I don’t want to have saggy skin and I’d much rather be my happy 150 than 130 and saggy.

Rosa: I have been on this program for 3mths. So far to date I have lost 47lbs. The work outs take a little time to get used to, but if done right, you get results. I have done everything else and this has been #1 for me. I can’t take diet pills or do extreme exercises cause I’ve got a heart condition so I turned to the SWBM. I have had no problems with my purchase, the support site is great and it’s not so “complicated” to follow. You just got to really want it, to see the results. No complaints here.

The food is what you would eat on any other diet!!!! I have gotten to a little over 200lbs it is the middle of 2011 I plan to be at my goal of 150 by 2012,& it is possible with this diet!!! Joe: I bought the SWBM over 5 years ago, I used it and because I stuck to the plan, I lost 34lbs in 6 weeks. When I went back to eating the same old ways I gained weight again. I am pretty amazed at people on this sight don’t understand that if you eat 5-6 times a day of food that is of correct portion size and good for your body that you will loose weight. If you add a consistent workout plan to your diet you will loose weight faster. Please don’t let the 6 week diet trip you up, it is common sense, if you go back to eating the same unhealthy food and don’t exercise then common sense tells you that you will gain weight. This diet plan wasn’t just created, it is actually used by Doctors, Bodybuilders and Athletes all over the world for a very long time. Don’t be fooled by ignorance, this is a good diet plan, but it isn’t temporary and requires patients and consistency, just like anything else you want to change in your life. If you don’t want to spend the money than due the fact finding yourself but the Six Week Diet puts it all together for you!

ToniShepard: WOW, I just purchased the 6WBM plan this morning. I am excited about the plan. I will be fifty in three months and would like to lose at least 30 to 40 lbs by my birthday in October. My overall goal is 100 lbs. I have ready many of the comments and motivated to be successful. I am sorry for those of us that don’t want to put in the work to make this happen. I have been plus size all my life and my weight has gone up and down. Now at 49 years and menapousal I am at my heaviest (280 lbs). I am too much of a DIVA to be fat. I am in love with me. And, I recently got married for the first time. I to love the skin I am in and I want my husband to be proud of his wife. So, I am determined inspite of the naysayers to lose this weight. linda: HI i have sat here and read almost all of the posting everyone wrote. I started the porgram 8 days ago and i a lost 6 lbs the first week but must important I didn’t see where anyone said they failed just because they where not ready to work on themselves. Believe my I started out 320 lbs and no matter what diet i went on until i was ready it failed i even resorted to surgury which is a short team fix for a long term problem I turely am ready and i feel that this program is the one for me. Just a thought before you spend any money on diet products ask your self if it is healthy and most important is it right for you and your life style. I personally give this one a big thumbs up

WBGoodwin: I used this 6-week body makeover and did not loose a pound. Will try it one more time. But I can not eliminate SALT because of leg cramps when my salt level is TOO Low due to exercising which I truly enjoy.

Sara: I just ordered my kit today (7/19/11), but I have to respond to some of these comments I’ve read…all I can do is shake my head. I can see the cost is high, but how much do you spend on eating out and all the junk food you shove in your mouth every month? Yes, Michael Thurmond helped people on Extreme Makeover, and they had some MAJOR body transformations. No, you do not just do this for 6 weeks and you lose all of your weight, you do it until you lose all of your weight but you can’t just go back to eating how you used to and expect to not gain the weight back after all. If anyone feels this is a get thin quick scheme and you won’t have to work to keep it off, this won’t be for you. You will have to change how you eat now and how you eat for life(after all, isn’t that what made you fat in the first place?). I don’t see why some people complain they gained the weight back after stopping…you are the one that put food in your mouth you knew would make you fat again. Take it as a lesson learned and get back on the wagon to get the weight off for good and keep it off, you have the tools. I will post again once I lose what I have to lose! :-) Cheers

Nikki: The product worked really well for me. No complaints. Most of the complaints I am reading are from people who are expecting an overnight miracle. This is a lifetime committment people. There is no miracle pill. Change your eating habits and exercise. That is how you will lose the weight.

MsPerdue: I purchased the SWBMO years ago. The weight came off. The only problem I had was my lack of discipline, but that has changed. I showed this program to my doctor who feels it is a healthy way to loss weight and keep it off. I love it. I am healthy and I feel good. If you work the plan, the plan will work for you!

cdp-: Very restrictive diet. If you have taste buds, forget it. Pritikin type diet. The body shapes are just a series of heavier types that need more restritive diets to work. It is just a severe restriction of salt, fat and carbohydrates that you can find in any off the shelf diet book. Almost impossible to maintain after the weight loss you experience by depriving yourself. Most people that eat fewer calories and exercise more do just fine. Save your money. I asked for a refund. Will post if I don’t get it.

Donna bell: It is working for me and I have tried everything short of gastric surgery. Lost 20 pounds in the six weeks. Then went on 2week vacation and slipped a little but not too much. I gained about four pounds back but got right back on plan and lost the pounds in less than a week plus another pound. I don’t feel hungry and very rarely crave sweets. I weigh the lowest I have been in 7 years, my blood pressure has gone down (it was moderately high even on meds). Like they say in the infomercials. I Istarted the program and never looked back.

Shawna: Get the Abs Diet book and save yourself grief and expense. I’ve lost more weight than this program advertises and the meals are wonderful. Same exact principle in that you eat 6 times a day but what a great change. Add a little exercise you like daily and you’ll see results as quickly—if not quicker—than this pricey program. I’m not a spokesperson for the Abs Diet; I had just tried everything along with my husband and THIS works and it’s one you can definitely live with…and be healthier for life. It’s worth looking for even used on Amazon.

Debra: Lost over 50 pounds on this diet when nothing else worked. Able to learn to keep the weight off. Simple to use once you learn how to eat for your body type. If you eat as the plan says, you will lose weight I am sure as I am the hardest type to lose and have health problems that also make it hard for me to lose weight. I was amazed that on this diet plan I was not hungry! I also spent very little time exercising! Also the sculpting for the type of muscles that you want does work! I am over 50 and look 35+ as people cannot believe my age! My health has gotten soooo much better on this diet too!!!

Athena: This is by far the best program I have been on. I don’t see this as a diet I see this as a lifetime eating plan. I have never felt so good. Lots of energy, skin is clearer, digestive system much better and yes weight loss to boot. I lost 24 pounds in first 6 weeks without being deprived. Although, I did discover I plateau every 2-3 weeks so I just incorporate something ‘off plan” like bread or cheese into one meal and that seems to get me going again without gaining any weight. The plan is logical and all the health experts have beening saying this for years… eat natural foods…cut out sugar, salt, excess oil, dairy and wheat. I thought I’d miss these things, but for the first time I don’t. Yes, I do exercise 4-5 times week for about 30 minutes, and I know this has a lot do with the change the as well, but seeing the scale move and feeling better is best results I could ask for. So I say, my hats off to Michael Thurmond for getting me to think about what I put in my mouth and helping me to make healthier choices. It was worth every penny!

Anonymous: Well..Ive heard it All…..Its Guaranteed ppl. If you work it. Simple. Thats all. I am opening it now. With only 35-40 pds. Im ecstatic. If you fail. And give up. You will never make it. Its guaranteed. If you do what it says. Throw a few more mins of excersize. Ive bought the space saver Elliptical. The total gym. And the susan Luchi pilates chair. Im going in head first. My 40 pd weight gain is due to medicine. Im off it now and know I can do it. You must remember. IT WASANT EATING RIGHT THAT DID THIS. AND IT DIDNT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT. Jade: Ok, I just want to debunk some of the negative rumors about this program ( which you DO have to read thoroughly before getting started.) First of all, yes, you have to read some material. It will take about 2 hours one night of your whole life to go through it and understand the plan. That’s all. Then, to those of you who are expecting to lose ALL your extra weight in 6 weeks: think about it, do you think it would be safe for someone who had 200 pounds to lose to do it in that short amount of time? No, and the 6 week body makeover doesn’t make any such claim. The reduction phase is the first 6 weeks. This is the time where you have to be strict and eat 6 meals a day which increases your metabolism by giving your body something to digest constantly. It also teaches you about combining foods in a way that will make your body as efficient as possible. This is the way God intended for us to eat, whole foods from the earth with no added salt or preservatives. After the first 6 weeks you must maintain your lifestyle in order to continue to lose weight but the program is less restrictive. This program is very scientifically sound, is not a fad or crash diet, and actually works if you invest the time needed to 1. Read the material and fully understand it. 2. Go to he grocery store and plan/make meals ahead of time, and 3. Do the exercises. Michael Thurmond preaches “work smarter, not harder” and that is exactly what the program teaches you to do! It’s wonderful, and I can’t believe all the negative comments I’m reading from people who have not even actually tried this program.

carla: I purchased the program last August and I was very skeptical. But I knew I had 6 weeks to try it and send it back if it did not work. When I was on the phone to order the product, I was certain it was a scam because of the agent. She seemed to be reading from a script, she could not answer some of my questions and she kept offering me added items like pills,an extra band. She offered to send me a bottle of supplements for $1. I said yes and then she said they would send me bottles every month and bill my credit card. I said I did not want that. Anyway a month later I received an extra charge on my credit card and pills in the mail. I called customer service and the man said that I said I wanted to have the supplements sent to me. I said that was not the case. I then told him to cancel the montly shipment. I told him I did not want to pay for the pills or for shipping and handling. I did receive my money back, less the shipping costs. This bothered me but I did not want to argue over a few dollars. I think the problem with this program has to do with the administration and customer service moreso than the program itself. They do need to fix this because they will lose customers off the bat. Anyway, I was desperate to find a program that really worked. I tried Weight Watchers, NutriSystem, LA Weightloss, Atkins…the list goes on. I did lose weight, 84lbs at WW but I gained the weight back plus more. I was off and on that program for about 10 years. The last time I weighed in I was actually heavier than when I rejoined six weeks previously. For me there was too much choice. I would always end up eating chocolate and chips and counting them but I was never full so then I ate extra. With this 6 Week Body Make Over, I really had to decide if I really wanted to try it. I mean all of that cooking and preparing bland foods. So I decided that there really is no magic pills and thanks to people like Dr. Oz and Julie Havey, I knew that I actually had to work at losing weight. I started cooking all of my food for the week and doing the walking. I do not do the body sculpting often and when I do, I use my 2 lb free weights. In six weeks, I was down about 24 lbs. Mind you have to lose about 130lbs. This included a 2 week vacation in Europe. By December 12, I was down 43 lbs. I came off the diet at Christmas time for just over a month and I gained 10lbs–I ate all the junk and nothing healthy. I had allowed myself a 10lb gaining window so pyschologically, I did not fail. I am going to keep going because I believe this plan works. I do not think this plan will work for everyone. Some people I would suggest trying Weight Watchers because there is more flexibility in what you can eat. Others, who think the program is too expensive, you may want to buy a book like the GI diet and follow that. Please keep in mind that Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig etc, are much more costly if you have a lot of weight to lose. I know some people have lost weight on this program faster than I have. I am taking my time. I add some salt to my foods but not much. Every now and then I will eat something that is totally not on plan and still lose weight. You definitely have read the program through and be willing to do the work. I had a friend that wanted to follow the program with me. She would come over every weekend and we would cook. She hated the food, although she did say it made her feel better. She was not willing to do what it took to succeed on the plan. She refused to read the material and would not even watch a dvd. Anyway she ended up quitting right before Christmas. She is now going to try Weight Watchers again. To each his own. P.S. I lost my 10 lbs extra christmas weight in 3 weeks.

NZ Custormer: I ordered this through an informercial – did not deal direct with the company but with a company here who have a good reputation I tried the 6 week body make over 8 years ago and lost about 45 pounds in the 6 weeks I did customise it.. I was lucky to be a body type B which is less restrictive then others, problem being it is very easy to fall off the program and develop bad habits again especially when your body types is one of the restricted ones, I did add back in small portions of dairy while doing the program but made sure it was the low fat kind – all I can say is best part of the program for losing weight is the age old story of WALK drink WATER and do some form of WEIGHT training twice a week.. If you think you can only excercise 2 or 3 times a week think again.. you Weight or reisistance train 3 times a week and it reccomends walking almost every day some of the meal plans and included recipes are nice.. I am starting again on my modified program to loose the weight I put on when I had kids. Also – Do not buy the supplement packages – they are overpriced - you will find you get better ones at your local health food stores for cheaper Over all the program is pretty good and well balanced compared to some.. a tip on customising – if your using a carb that is not suited to your body type.. 1/2 the quantity of it.. as for butter etc on the potato – use a dollop of sour cream and chopped fresh herbs – not so bland after all
