HoodiaP57 - Pure 20X Strength Certified Hoodia
This product is simply as good as Hoodia gets. It is 100% certified, pure Hoodia from South Africa. It also boasts 20X the strength. If any Hoodia product is going to suppress appetite, this is the one. We also like that HoodiaP57 contains nothing else except pure Hoodia -- no fillers and no stimulants. This means it is safe to take whenever you want – including close to bed time. There are hundreds of Hoodia products on the market now, but we don’t even bother to list them on this site, because 99% of them are just cheap imitation Hoodia that is not even from South Africa, where the P57 molecule is the most effective. We chose HoodiaP57 to be on DietBlogTalk because it is of the utmost quality. The maker even includes a certificate of origin from the South African government stating the Hoodia originates from there. This product has nearly a perfect ‘Thumbs Up’ score. Check this one out. Slim 10® has hit the marketplace with a huge bang. This is the first and only weight loss pill ever made that has combined 10 different patented, clinically proven effective ingredients. And to top it off, they added 500mg of pure South African Hoodia in a 20X potency to every serving. This pill is pure weight loss science. In fact, with this many award-winning ingredients in one capsule, we don’t see how anyone could not lose weight by taking it. The Slim 10® customers say it all—check out these enthusiastic postings on the blog. In fact, Slim 10® is on par with the best diet pills around like Nuphedrine® and HoodiaP57®. The truth is, it really just depends on what pill is best for the consumer—some will do better with Nuphedrine, others with HoodiaP57, and of course some with Slim10®. MiracleBurn®
Miracleburn® is a pretty amazing phenomenon. It has consistently received one of the highest ‘Thumbs Up’ blog ratings on our site. The really amazing part is that most of their customers come from word of mouth, and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular diet products available. The maker of Miracleburn® doesn’t spend tens of millions on advertising like alli®, Hydroxycut® or Curvelle to hype their product. They simply let their satisfied customers virtually do the marketing for them. We suggest reading through the postings. The formula consists of a quality form of Hoodia, combined with the patented metabolism booster, Advantra-Z®. It also has several other balancing secondary ingredients. Part of what makes their product such an effective crowd-pleaser is the manufacturing technique and perfect balance of ingredients. Read a full MiracleBurn Review Here.

HoodiaBites
This product is just what it sounds like - chewable Hoodia pieces. The good news is that they actually use a superior quality form of Hoodia, and it works. In fact, this is probably the fastest way to feel Hoodia, because when you eat it, it digests so much quicker. In fact, most customers report that it works in minutes not hours like traditional capsules. The chewable pieces are very much like a piece of taffy and taste good. They kick in faster than a quality Hoodia pill, and definitely do the trick. They are only a few calories per piece, and may be taken safely throughout the day. This is a good product to use by itself or in conjunction with another diet pill/program. Hoodia Bites are well liked by the customers – the blogs score well. Read a full HoodiaBites Review Here.

The Maker's Diet
Many people turn to the Bible and scripture for spiritual guidance and everyday support. Jordan Rubin, the author of The Maker’s Diet, also found inspiration for his weight loss and wellness plan. This program cuts out processed foods and encourages dieters to partake in a whole food lifestyle. There are three two-week phases, which is enough time to generate weight loss, but not overwhelm the diet. Rubin offers sound nutritional advice that focuses on cleansing the body and overall health. However, the diet also offers advice in other areas of life, such as hygiene, and advises dieters to thoroughly cleanse the face, hands and neck in the morning and evenings. This program has received quite high reviews on consumer review websites, and the general consensus for The Maker’s Diet is that it is effective and easy to follow. Glenna: I participated in the LA Weightloss plan and I lost almost 80 pounds and I have kept it off for almost a year now. I never felt it was a diet as much as it was changing my eating habits to a healthy way of eating. I was very disappointed when their doors closed locally. The people who did not find success with their program may have had other problems that contributed to their failure. My daughter and I certainly did not.

Anonymous: owensboro,ky la wt loss went out of business without telling some of their clients taking their money without giving the products we ve paid for. the change of eating habits as they call it does work but gets to be very boring

KATHY: I WAS A MENBER AND I LOST 30 LBS AND WAS VERY HAPPY WITH RESULTS – BUT I DID NOT EVER CLOSE TO MY GOAL THAT THEY SAID I WOULD GO TO. I ALSO NEVER DID GET MY PORTION PLATE OR MY MAINTANINENCE PAPERWORK TO CONTINUE MY PROGRAM.

anonymous: I joined LA Weightloss last summer. They told me that I would lose weight, feel great and that they would be there to support me every step of the way………..YEAH RIGHT!!! They totally screwed me! I was doing really good for the first 3 months, I was down like 18 pounds! I was so excited! Then I leveled out. I was told several different things, eat more fruit, then eat less bread, try the quick start again…….none of it worked. So they blamed it on the fact that I didn’t want to buy thier bars. The bars are $15 per week!!! They are the equivilant to a LUNA bar which are much cheaper, but still not effective. They really teach you how to balance out your eating habits, but not much else. It is NOT worth the fortune you put into it! Use that money and go join the local YMCA! They offer free trainers that will put you on an exercise plan and can teach you what to eat and NOT to eat. STAY AWAY they will eat up all of your hard earned money!!!!

Marci: I joined LA twice, once before I went to college (lost 60 pds) and went back after my son was born (lost 45pds). I ate the bars every so often. Was asked to buy more, but when I said “No” I wasn’t presurred. Ofcourse they are going to try and sell their product, but have never felt put upon. I felt so successful that I got two of my friends to join and they also lost 40+ pounds. I guess it just depends on which location your at how it is run. I’ve had nothing, but success!!

Sabrina: Well it seems like there is no LA weight Loss program in my area (Southern NJ/Phila). That sucks and it makes me feel like this program doesnt even care about people in my area. Also i find it annoyeing anyway to always have to go to a center in order to do there program. I thin k i am gonna find da good online program and join it instead.

Candice: LA Weight Loss was very intimidating and I did not feel comfortable working out there. I like to work out in private anyway. I am starting to think exercise is not enough.

Vicki: This is so the best way for me to lose weight! I love the work outs, I love the team effort you’re feeling like your involved with, and I love most of all that I’ve lost 27 pounds all ready, and feel like I can get rid of the next 25, too. Thanks to LA Weight Loss, I’m doing just that…losing like anything, and feeling very good along the way, too.

Kevin: In my experience LA Weight loss wasn’t a very successful experience for me. It’s just like joining a bad gym for twice the price. I mean I get the idea behind it but it’s just too hard to get motivated. I did it for 2 months lost 4 pounds and gained them right away. I don’t recommend it.

Kara: I just don’t have time to be meeting every week with some counselor! I have 3 kids, a full time job, and a very dedicated side profession as a painter and sculptor. I am busy almost every minute of the day. I do not have time to drive to my local LA Weight Loss Center (which is half an hour away) sit there and yammer about eight loss to some virutal stranger. I just want to eat the healthy food and do the exercise! This talkathon is not for me.

Carolina: Well I’ve been a member of LA Weight Loss for just about a month and have been gradually getting less excited about it. I lost 3 lbs the first week, 2 more the next, and I’ve only lost one more in the past 2 weeks. I don’t feel as supported as I thought either, my counselor is not very freindly or encouraging. I’m not giiving up yet but not so confident now that I’ll be able to reach my goal anytime soon.

valerie: My local LA weight loss center was dingy, depressing, and had sub-par equipment. My weight loss counselor was nice, but I’m not sure that made this program worth it, necessarily. The food plan and exercise is nothing groundbreaking and if I’m going to drive to a center each week i’d like it to be one that’s a bit nicer than this.

Rick: Does anyone know how I can get my money back, from a closed center? Has anyone tried with success?

Clo: Yeah I agree, I too live in NJ and I could not find a center less than 50 miles from where I live, not very convenient, :( I was willing to give it a try but it just does not make sense, very disappointing. ANybody know of a good gym in the NJ area?

Nancy: God, i cannot tell you how SICK i am of getting the L.A Weight loss “Sales PItch” about opening up a franchise! ! Is it just me, or does anyone else see the connection between so many of these lame franchises CLOSING every other day, and the aggressive solicitation for us to open new ones??? It’s like, hey! please come aboard this sinking ship!! No thank you. In fact, I think i’m going to find another gym. i want to work out in peace without the high pressure sales.

Lindsey: I live in Florida and all we have in our little bitty town is Curves, and that’s not enough for me to even consider joining. So LA Weight Loss, works, hey? Well, what about all of us that can’t find anything like it where we live? What are we, chopped liver? I don’t like it that this seems like sort of an exclusive club…

Kara: Not a bad program, LA weight Loss has taught me portion control and has helped me lose weihgt and keep it off. Well, that plus a diet pill has been key. I still had a slow metabolism and exercising wasn’t enough. I like the people at my center, going there keeps me on track.

Beth: I love the IDEA of LA Weight Loss, I’m just not sure it’s for me, or at least, all the way. The main thing I don’t like about them is the hard sell approach I’ve seen for me to do MORE than I really want to, and to eat those bars, which, lets face it, are sort of sawdusty and expensive, besides. The trouble is, I like the results I’ve had so far, Big Time, and so don’t want to quit. Maybe I should just learn to say “no” better?

Colleen: Hmm, well, i think I’m doing OK so far at the L.A. Weight Loss. I’m sticking to the menu plan, and my counseler’s advice does seem to be working. I do get a bit stressed sometimes trying to make it there right after work, and get out of there in time to pick up the kids from day care, then come home and cook dinner. LIfe’s busy for me, that’s the main draw back. I wonder if maybe, i can just sort of incorporate the LA weight loss principles on my own, with out having to belong or go there? I bet i could..

Samantha: What about Hoodia, I’ve heard it helps wiht hunger, is it safe to take while on LA Weight Loss? Those small portions just don’t stay with me for too long.

Denise: My husband and I decided to join together 4 months ago so we could motivate each other whenever one of us was feeling like giving up. I have to say with all of those photos you see everywhere and those “success stories” it makes it even harder on us, kind of almost impossible to get to our goals. I mean we have been losing weight and it’s definately a good thing for us to workout but I mean in 4 months we have lost nothing compare to what they advertise which is a bit frustrating. Anyway, we are keeping up with the hard work and we will see what happen…

Becky: LA Weight Loss center is an okay gym but I am not losing weight as fast as I used to when I was in my twenties. I guess I should include some kind of supplement and I have heard that there are some ingredients that actualy make your metabolism work more efficiently and that would be terrific.

Marc: so tell me, is this LA weight loss mostly for chics? seems that way 2 me.

Kathy: LA Weigth Loss is just another one of those gimmicky ways to sucker you into a plan that you think will finally make you lose weight once and for all, but you know what? it’s just like all the rest of they gym/diet places, except it’s based in CA, which should give you a clue, right there. Everybody knows that California is a weird place, and this L.A. plan fits right in. It made me uncomfortable to go because everybody else all ready looked so good, and I didn’t, andit was depressing to say the least. Looks like you have to lose weight first before you can even show up, which I couldn’t do on my own and that’s why I’m still looking.

Charlotte: Samantha: Hoodia is an AMAZING appetite suppressant, it helped me thru LA weight loss and beyond. This stuff is serious stuff, if you get the real deal. My warning here is that there are a lot of fakes, so make sure u look for the certificate of authenticity. I highly recommend it for helping out with the old “willpower’ aspect of any diet.

yolanda: I like LA Weight Loss Center (the one I go to) better than the gym for women curves which I did not like. I am going to hopefully lose a lot of weight while I am going their.

Sofia: LA weight loss is the most positive thing I have ever done for myself in a very long time. I have lost 42 pounds in almost 6 months and could not be happier. You have to really be motivated and can’t be lazy and you will see magic happen.

Tonya: The people at my center were rude, I found myself at a plateau after 3 months at LA Weight Loss and they basically made me feel like it was all my fault that I couldn’t lose any more weight! I stopped going after awhile and will never join again, I feel so humiliated about the whole thing.

Kris: going to La Weight Loss was supposed to be something my girlfriends and I did together this summer to ge tin shape and take time for ouselves away from our kids. but they have all been making excuses and I hate going alone. I am not sure if I will continue on my own. I would like to just lose weight more easily but since I turned 40 I cannot.

Rose Ann: You can only work out just so much, and then all of a sudden, it’s enough. Does that make any sense? I think that this rah rah work out all the time stuff is not what I want to do. LA. weight loss makes you feel guilty if you don’t stay on that treadmill until you drop, or the stepper until you feel like your knees are breaking, and that’s just not for me. I’d rather take a nice long walk, or maybe a paddle in the pool. It’s just too strenuous for me, to much of commitment.

Kim: My LA Weight Loss center in Spokane Wash. closed very suddenly without notifying me and i only found out when i showed up there to weigh in. i still havent seen the rebate money i was owed and i paid for additional meals from them that i haven’t received. This IS a sinking ship, as someone said above. I wouldnt recommend boarding it.

Cherie: Also love Hoodia, I take HoodiaP57 (http://www.hoodiap57.com/offer ) and it takes away any hunger pangs I have in 5 minutes. MAkes a difference in my progress at LA Weight Loss, but the gym’s equipment is pretty outdated and half the machines are broken on any given day. I may end up joining a regular gym and just taking these pills. Hope this helps!

Josie: LA Weight Loss Program is not easy to follow especially if you are like me and just beginning to think about exercise. I have never been very sporty and I am trying my best but I do not feel supported or comfortable there and I am thinking of quitting. But I would feel too guilty after all the money I spent and wonder how else I can get the physical activity I know is healthy for a woman my age. Why is it so difficult??

Shari: Even though I’ve been reading a lot of complaints about L.A. Weight Loss’s power bars, they’re one of my favorite parts of the program! Yeah, they do cost a bit more than the usual bar, but has anybody bothered to read the ingredients? These babies are PACKED with good things for you, and help you lose weight at the same time! What could be better than that, I ask you! I recommend them to anybody who’s really trying to drop some pounds in an easy sort of way….

Maggie: I noticed that at my center the trainer guys DEFINITELY had a bias toward the women who were already young and fit. In fact, they seemed to be spending all of their time “training” those girls, and pretty much ignoring the older, more chunky ladies like myself, who actually needed their help. It was a very hurtful experience and not very productive, either.

SPORTY_SUE: Awww, c’mon, all of you who give this a thumbs down are total wimps! Stick with the program already! Did you ever expect the weight loss to be EASY? It isn’t easy, you need to watch what you eat, how much you eat and how much you exercise. My counselor helps keep me accountable for MY actions, and I’ve been losing weight. Sometimes I don’t want to work out but I go anyway. And sometimes I want a second helping, but I resist. It’s tough but LA Weihgt loss works.

MissLinda: The LA weight loss gym I go to is all right but I am tired of all work without results…I am sure it is my fault for loving food so much and I know I am an emotional eater but what can I do I am lonely and bored. Maybe I should get back into swimming.

Kate: LA Weight Loss certainly did me no favors. I didn’t like the machine set up, and it wasn’t very clean. I always felt like I should take one of those little squirt bottles of antibacterial soap along with me to clean off the handles etc on the machines…and that’s not a good thing to feel, just in general, but especially in a gym…and I guess that goes for the people, too…not such roll models as I’d hoped, more like people who just came in off the streets and put on tights. I want something a bit more upscale, and certainly less germy feeling.

trista: LA Weight Loss need to just do an online program. These centers are clearly so unreliable, and it’s ridiculously behind-the-times to make people show up in person. This program’s a dinosaur.

Nora: There are some aspects of LA Weight Loss that I thought were okay, but the gym itself was pretty depressing to go into. It smelled musty and sweaty and very..old. I don’t know. My counselor was nice but then after a few months, I went one day to find out it had closed. No notice or nothing. I was still 14 lbs to my goal. Will taking that hoodia pill help me get there quick, I need to still lose it.

Vanessa: If you are thinking about joining LA Wight Loss program think twice before you do so. The reason I decided to join is because I was extremely overweight and felt like trying something with a group of people might be a great way to get motivated. Didn’t really happen that way. The center I joined made me feel like I was not human, people already looked really good there and I felt like a beast, they didn’t have the right approach with me and as a result I had to leave and was pretty depressed for a very long time.

Vanessa: L.A. weight loss is not what it’s cracked up to be, or it wasn’t for me at least. I mostly didn’t think the staff was very well trained, and when I joined that was one of the big things that got me to sign up…but the girl that I worked with didn’t seem to know what she was doing, and I finally quit in disgust.

Chuck: The program I was put on it LA Weight Loss was customized for me, I liked that and it made me more motivated to follow it at the beginning. I couldn’t always keep my appointments wiht the counselor though, due to work and after some months, I began gaining the weight again. Probably would’ve been better off at a regular gym, going at my own tiem rather than checking in with someone. Oh yeah, and the eating plans were not enough, I also overate many days on this. Thumb down.

Peg: Used to be a member when I lived in Redding but then I moved to NYC and can’t find location close by. I thought LA Weight loss was okay, it was the only thing available, actually, and I would’ve tried it again. Centers seem to be closing instead of opening in other cities, though.

Dar: LA was working for me and I had no complaints until they shut their doors, and kept all the money I paid up front. They are crooks.

JB: I was oing fine on la weitht loss until the closed the doors and kept my money. I am unable to get any of the product i paid gor.

Regina Eborn: LA Weight Loss was working for me until I arrived for my appointment at the New Bern, NC store and found the doors locked. I was told by LA Weight Loss Respresentatives that they had not gone out of business they had simply relocated to another town. I have never received the money they owed me that was remaining on my contract or the products I had purchased which had not yet come in when they “relocated”. The store they “relocated” to has now been “relocated” elsewhere as well. From what I understand none of the customers from the New Bern store recieved their refunds on their contracts or for products they had purchased.

dianne adams: I have been going to LA for over 3 months.I have lost 15 lbs-not a great amount as their ads say.I have been buying and eating their bars daily.Last week I got my cholesterol checked and it is through the roof.I was very upset as I have never had so high a rate in my life and this has been after 4 months of their diet!!My friend who works with a dietitian told me to look on the package and see what was in the bars. There is 15 grams of saturated FAT in each one.I brought this to their attention but they just said I needed to eat them because the soy in them was necessary to lose weight.I really don’t feel like continuing with LA because I do not want to take a stroke. How much saturated fat are we supposed to eat a day if we have high cholesterol?I would like to know.

donna foster: NEGATIVE RATING: I’m not sure as to what to call myself except perhaps “taken for a ride”. I joined and signed a contract, with rebates to be included, at the La Wt Loss center in Wilmington,N.C. this past February. I followed my diet and contract and met my weight goal. I,then finished my “stabilization” program this past Thursday and was to start “maintenance” the next day. Upon their suggestion I made an appointment for the next week to be measured again, and review how the week went. Well the next day they were gone….skipped during the night…no notice on the door…phone disconnected by the next Monday! So..this “organization” that I trusted, misrepresented themselves to me and many others, “SNUCK OUT DURING THE NIGHT” without any thought or care for their clients! So,here I sit unable to get in contact with anyone reguarding this situation, wondering how and why La Weight Loss allows this to happen. (As I read the previous comments I realize this is apparently their “common practice” and condoned by them.)

Anomymous: My family joined la weightloss. None of them failed they lost 80 pounds each. The only reson you all did fail on the program is your own bad eating habits. Losing weight is hard not easy. you have to try. not expect a quick fix. La weight loss rules in ARIZONA.

anomymous: i join la weight loss and have lost 100 lbs so far.Now they have new management and they dont do nothing compared to the old managers. We use to get our picture took after so many pounds they do none of this now. They never have the bars or drinks in.I still need to lose 40 more pounds…But without the stuff you need why drive 30 minutes a week not worth the trip with gas prices the way they are.

anonymous: The center in my town closed-closest center 45 miles away-when I asked about getting my money back was told I could receive product instead of a refund-was first pressured into calling in ever week- I was given a number to call 1-215-346-4400-good luck with getting a response from an actual person-can not reccomend joining this group!

Anonymous: LA weight loss closed the doors in Jacksonville,NC last week. They left clients without contact information and no way to get products or money back. So far no response from the company. BAd BUSINESS!!! Please get products up front before giving money. Betty NC

Anonymous: I worked for LA Weight Loss for a year and half and it was by far one of the worst jobs I have ever had. We were trained to pray on people that came to us for help. We were sent off to training to pin point weakness in a person and jump for the sale. We were punished if we didn’t get our new clients signed up for the LA Bars AND the B.S. supplements. They were not happy unless your client spent over 1000 dollars. We were told that the bars were meant to SLOW down clients weight loss on purpose so the clients would buy more weight loss weeks and the supplements were crap! I personally went on the program and lost weight really fast but we were allowed to eat the bars for free but once I started my body STOPPED losing weight. Once I pulled my self off the bars I started losing weight again. I wasn’t over weight in the first place but I thought if I was going to sale something I had to see if it worked. The supplements made no difference in my system at all. None of their product works at all and it is very expensive. It did seem to work on some clients but it was just what their bodies lost naturally, us as worker were supposed to make you believe it was the product. The program does work but it is crazy over priced, I loved my clients and couldn’t stay in the company because I hated seeing people get there emotions and their pocket books raped. Please I have seen what these people do, don’t put yourself through that. There are much better ways to loss weight with out paying hundreds.

Anonymous: LA Weight Loss is outrageously expensive, and did NOT work for me. The gals at our center are mostly saleswomen. I lost a few pounds the first month, and the last 8 months did not lose a pound. I followed their basic eating programs, and exercised on my own with a personal trainer. The dieticians whom only they could access–not the customer–were useless. The eating program seems healthier than most diets, but they do not have the knowledge to solve problems. It is basically a sales scam. I hate myself for falling for it–and only my wallet is thinner–not my waist. I walked out of the center in tears or angry most of the time.

Barb: I was very successful at LA Weight loss, but I am very angry the cemters are closing doen. My contract stated if I kept the weight off for one year I would receive 1/2 my money back. THEY DID NOT KEEP THEIR END OF THE CONTRACT!!!!!!! I did. So now what can I do, NOTHING.

Heather: I joined LA weight loss back in March 2008. I did loose weight at first, but into the 2nd or 3rd week It was very frustrating as I was doing and eating what I was told to and would sometimes gain a pound or 2. I was told several different things, not drinking enough water, drinking too much water, drink some gatorade cause you are drinking too much water and are flushing your electorlites?! It just didn’t seem right, all the testimonials that I’ve read makes it seem like you loose so much. Well here I am 6 months later and have lost 20 pounds. I haven’t budged from there. It is so expensive to join and they try to get you to want to loose more weight, that way it will cost more and they get a commision. It cost me over $800 to join and I am NOT HAPPY with my results. I could have done better modifing my diet and exersising. The only thing good that I learned from LA Weight loss is portion control and food groups. I do not recommend spending any money with LA. Do weight watchers instead, it’s a hell of alot cheaper and is the same exact program!

Ronald: LA Weight Loss has been a real life saver for me. I went from weighing over 400 pounds to just over 260 today. Even after moving out of state from the center in Lexington, Ky that I had worked with for 2 years, they continued to work with me. I was saddened to hear that the Lexington operations as well as others had closed. I learned a lot from the folks at the LA Center I worked with and it has definitely made a difference for me. You have to want to do this for you. It takes dedication. It isnt a cheap program but it is affordable when you compare what you wont have to spend on clothes and medical bills.

Doreen: Oh boy, do I feel like a sucker!! WHY didn’t I look into this more before joining?? I just joined LA Weight Loss in May of this year (hoping to look good for the summer) with a goal of losing 30 lbs. The first time I visited, I left feeling horrible, because I had spent so much money and thought that I was never gonna lose it. The next I had more confidence and began the program, feeling strong. I averaged about 1/2 per week weight loss, that’s all. I cannot believe now that I am learning the staff is trained to pray on clients. I wonder if I can get my money back?

anita: la wieght loss is a big rip off ,they get your money and they pull out of somerset ky. and dont live up to there contract .leaving you to drive to lexington ky. now they are pulling out of thereand still cant get your product you paid for . i suggest that every one that has been done wrong to file a complaint hopefully he can get us what is owed to us.

Shylea: Wish I would have read this blog, but went on the advise of a friend & joined the Bozeman LA Wt Loss Center Feb. 2008. The store closed in June 2008!!. It was fine the first 3 wks then – no manager, counselors who didn’t know what they were doing, conflicting advise, no product on the shelf. It was hell and confusion. All I ever heard was “Sorry, we are without a manager”. My friend apologized for talking me into joining and said it was hard on her too the last 3 months(previous to that it was ok. She told me the store was closing 3 weeks before I got the store letter. The letter arrived a week before closing day. When you live 60 miles away and don’t get to the city only once a week — a little lead time is important. After much hassle LA said they would refund the fee I paid for a year’s service and mail my product. The refund will be without their non-refundable deposit (doesn’t matter that the store shut down — not me). I was also told “you will get your refund when it comes” “they have a lot to process”. (No thought for how that sounds). That was 6 weeks ago. On a happy note I have lost 11 lbs in that 6 weeks without them!!! Save your money folks and don’t try LA Wt Loss. If you do Keep Your Eyes VERY Wide Open. When I joined the Bozeman LA Center, they had so many clients in my small town they were arranging to hold counseling appointments in town so we didn’t have to travel 60 miles to Bozeman. Then 3 months later the whole thing is shut down and the offices in other larger towns don’t have much help to offer. They say the Regional manager has to help you. She is unavailable most of the time and you can only leave her a message with the receiptionist — no voicemail, phone number or email. And yes, I did feel a push to buy the bars, juice, cookies and other products. But they “care” about you….

Laura: Our area clinic closed and kept charging my credit card after they closed. Now I’m spending my extra time trying to figure out how to get my money back!!!!!

Jillian: Hi, I have lost 60 lbs on the La Weight Loss plan. I have loved the counseling and the products. I really did feel like they cared about me and made the program really work for my situations. The reason why they push the products is because they work! I was stubborn when I started and didn’t want to use the products. Once I finally did take that step in using them my program was easier and I lost the weight faster. My family is eating healthier too. I really have tried a ton of methods and this really was the only thing that worked and I have kept the weight off now for over 4 years.

Julie: Have also been getting continuous charges on my credit card since the location closed 3 months ago. Beware, folks, its only a matter of time before this will happen to you!

Donna: I too bought into the whole program and when they closed my center I was given all my product that I had prepaid for… my question is does any one know how I can finfd out hte self life of the fast forward? i have three cases.

Joan: In 2006, I joined LA Weight Loss in Greensboro, NC. I was more than ready to get to work as my weight had ballooned in 2 years resulting in many health problems at age 53. Long story short, I lost 62 pounds, got great support, followed the program, exercised with increasing frequency as the “load” lifting allowed me to do so. I am in the best shape I have been since my early 30’s before the birth of my son. I have reflected since, hearing the many outrageous “scams” connected with many of the franchises, that my own determination must have been so much more powerful than I had ever imagined. I do not regret going to LA Weight Loss…yes, iy probably was too expensive but in the end, at least for me, it was a small price to pay for adding probably 10 years back to my life! I am so sorry to hear that it has ended so badly for lots of folks and I count myself blessed to not have experienced the negatives.

Karen: Joan, I think you are blessed….its great that your will to succeed overcame the incompetence of this program. congratulations! But for a lot of us, we’re depressed or lack confidence, or we sort of think its never going to happen. And for those of us like that (which included me), I found that there was almost NO support, no consistency, and no encouragement. I AM lucky that my center never actually picked up and moved, but really, it might as well have. I never got the sense that they even cared how i was doing. L.A. weight loss was a terrible plan.

tom: took my money and ran like a lot of you. they have changed all of their phone numbers. If anyone wants to start a class action law suit i’m in. contact your state atty general,Or theirs in terra haute,Indiana, and the better business bureau, and the media.

ANONYMOUS: This submission of comments is long overdue! I worked for LA Weightloss or LATO, Co Inc in the Central Valley Area. It was one of the most horrible experienced I have ever had with a company, let alone the biggest mistake of my life accepting a position with LA Weight Loss! In the 2 week training we recieved, it was nothing but “brainwashing” your client and having them believe that they needed all the products and bars!! The employees I worked with were “Fat” and “Overweight” So, if La Weightloss was to be deemed as sooo successful, wouldn’t you as a client think the employees are to be in at least decent shape? A tad bit healthy at least? One of the employees at the center would steal money form her co-workers purse (and after complaining to management, she was never reprimanded) she would also steal products to feed her 4 kids at home! When clients would walk in, these women would latch on to clients like car salesmen latch on to their clients (due to commission) In short, La Weight Loss is a fraud! Lacks Knowledge of Labor Rights and basically has stolen from consumers…..Country Wide!! I am glad I was not present while the doors shut!

Katherine: When I first tried the LA Weightloss program it was NOV>2006. I had recently gained alot of weight. I tried to stick to it but it was hard due to Thanksgiving and going in to weigh 3 times a week is a NO NO. I got berated for gaining a half a pound one time and losing only a quarter of a pound the next. I gave up. I tried another center but the counselors were not very helpful. I had lost two teeth and chewing is very hard. Eat cottage chesse and Yogurt is not helpful. I took another break and found that BOTH centers had closed,NO warning No signs or call. I know they owe me bars but I do not know how to get them. I wish I never heard of LA WEIGHT LOSS and I feel ripped off. Maybe they work for some but not me.

Elizabeth: I started LA weight loss two years ago – within 6-7 months I lost 33 lbs. and have kept it off, within a few pounds. At 58 years old (at the time) I never dreamed I could accomplish it. The counselors really motivated me and never pressured me to buy things, even though I think the Lites were part of the success – it helped you feel less deprived. If you follow the diet, you will loose weight. Now that a lot of the centers are closing, there is now LA On the Go starting soon.

Lydia: I’m yet another former member of LA weight loss who has to report a TERRIBLE experience. The counselors at my now-defunct center were rude, apathetic, and degrading to me when I back-slid on my progress. They made me feel like a lazy cow, even tho i was reaching out to THEM for support but they were always too busy talking on their cell phones or texting when i needed help! Going for weigh ins to this dingy, depressing center did nothing to motivate me or make this seem worthwhile. I am MUCH better off on my own without paying these rude people to do nothing. My LA Weight Loss Center has packed up and left town like the traveling circus it is, and good riddance!

former employee: As a former employee, do not ever work for or sign up for l a weight loss. the company only cares about making money and could care less about their clients. they will close a center with no warning or try to get people to go on “l a on the go”-the at home program designed to keep the company from giving refunds. from experience do not try l a weight loss as a client or seek employment with them. u will definitely refret it!!!

former employee II: Those claims by former employees was true. Additionally the process to work for them is long because they are usually gearing up for the loss of the last wave of employees. They have training centers but do not give sufficient nutritionall education. They primarily are focused on sales techniques and push counselors out to work with people ill-prepared. They give the run around on what salary will be similarly to the way they evade program costs. You are taught to bring the customer low and them sell them supplements that they don’t need. They can do mostly on their own. Don’t join or work for LA.

Nancy: LA Weight Loss program is the biggest scam ever. I knew I should not have joined immediately after I did because the counselors were always trying to get me to buy products. I paid alot of money, and lost only a few pounds. I joined in April 2008, and the center closed in August 2008. I signed up for a year program, but the center closed and would not refund my money. That’s pretty dishonest, don’t you think!! So now I’m out several hundred dollars.

Anonymous: I like many people have been taken to the cleaners for products I have never recieved. Cannot get ahold of anyone to talk to about anything. How can they get away with this? Really pissed off in CA

Brenda: My advice “DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THIS PROGRAM IS ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY”. I joined LA Weightloss in San Diego and was told all the good things about the program. For my 1st two visits I was never weighed or measured. I was told that after the slim down drink I would receive a meal plan from their dietian which turned out to be a booklet. On the slim down drink I only lost 1lb and they promised up to 7lbs. On my 3rd visit I asked what was the calorie count for the menu that I was given, of course the consultant could not answer that question. Until then no weightloss. I then asked that my plan be changed. As a matter of fact when I was on the bars I gained weight as I also thought they were extreamly sweet. I spent 1 week waiting for the new plan and while I was off the plan I lost weight instantly. There is only so much one can eat per day, I followed the plan and excercised at least 4 times per week and still nothing. The contract says that they are commited to helping you lose weight, I think they should change that to “commited to stealing your money”. I think they are very unprofessional and there is clearly no interest in the clients and its all about making money. I am sorry I did not read these comments before.

Ritney: I did la weight loss and lost 15 lbs. Then they decided to take my money and run. They shut down the center and left.I was not willing to drive 100 miles 3 times a week for consukts and that was the part that was 85% of the reason I lost the weight. That one on one face to face. Now they want me to call in and check in and that costs money too. I am not happy with them at all. I have put back on 10 lbs and am trying to do it myself. They just up and left. Make sure if you decide on them that you know how long the center has been there before you spend the 1500.00 to start the program, and that doesnt include the food just the counseling. BEWARE thats all I can say….

alice: LA Weight loss is a BIG ripe OFF! This place suck you right out of your money. I joined under false statement about the price and I felt pressured to join. I lost no weight at all. DO NOT join these centers, because you have to buy all these supplements and bars. I could not get my money back, so I’m left with these bars and soups. Save your money, because I spent about over $2000.00 for nothing.

Jean: I was very disappointed with LA. I reached my goal and kept it for 6 mo. When I reached this I was promised (in writing) that I would receive $187. It has been 5 months now and I still haven’t seen the check. I also noticed that they have a large staff turnover. I questioned this with them. They had their reasons. Also 2 wks ago they are closed Tues and Thursday’s. I feel that I have gotten taken for a ride. Initally the staff was good when I joined. And yes it is very expensive. I felt if I could get 40% of my money back it wouldn’t cost so much. Yea right, that isn’t happening.

Patty: I have been on the program for 5 months and have lost 15 inches, 28 pounds–7 pounds to go to goal I have lost and gained back weight on Weight Watchers. I got tired of waiting in line to pay money and weigh in every week and the group setting. Most of the counselors in my L.A. weight loss program have been very helpful and supportive. It is expensive, but if they don’t close like I see many are, and I keep the weight off for one year and get half my $$ back, I will consider my experience a success. The LA lites have helped tremendously. They put the push on to sell products and supplements, so you have to be able to say “no.” They tried to deceive me by telling me I would have to buy more weeks since I didn’t reach my goal in the specified number of weeks, but I reminded them that my contract said I did not have to pay more. They didn’t tell me about the cost of the bars when I first signed up. I will let them know they have a tendency to deceive people.

Anonymous: I didn’t think to check out the reputation of LA when I joined in May, and certainly wished I would have. I have lost 7lbs & 10 inches in 5 months. I am always positive said “At least I didn’t gain”. This program is very expensive, yet I have not been pushed to eat or purchase any products. What I find most frustrating is the inexperience of most of the “counselors” and their lack of ability to assist someone in their weight loss journey. They are unskilled and don’t have a clue of how to coach people. The program is not for those who think they are going to lose weight instantly. It is like most plans, very slow unless you are under 30 years old when your metabolism hasn’t slowed down. The LA lites have helped me, I have not had a piece of chocolate in 5 months. However, I am with the rest of the posts here, do not let them talk you into purchasing their products. I have started recording my daily intake and activity in Diet Power, a food recording softwear program that is much more effective. With all the information here, I am going to have my doctor write a note stating that this plan is not for me, and get my money back now before they go out of business!!

Amy: As for the $5/week–look again. If you total all that they want you to buy, it ends up being about $50/week for a year. You HAVE to eat their protein bars–which are $28/week and the $180 starter fee–for that you get the food scale and a book–both worth about $7 if that. And the vitamins for only $200/month. Save your money and join weight watchers.

Annah: I joined LAWL a month ago. The program really does work, I have changed my eating habits, feel great and I have lost 10 pounds (1/3 of the total weight I need to loose). BUT, so far, I have not been doing the twice a day bars and I FEEL THE PRESSURE every single visit. They tell you when you sign up that the cost is XYZ and they have a plethora of support products, like bars and shakes, IN CASE you need them. That YOU DON’T NEED them to loose the weight, blah, blah, blah. Then BAM! They start trying to get you to buy a year’s worth supply of bars, close to $2,000. If you say no, they push every single day for you to buy their “support products”. Then comes the threat, if you don’t eat the bars, you won’t loose weight. WTF! You just told me I didn’t need any bars when I signed up! The pressure is there every single visit and I dread that more than gaining weight. Since I told them I wasn’t eating the bars twice a day, but just when I needed a mid afternoon snack here and there, they told me that it was better to have none at all. Alas! I thought I was saved from the blood sucking bar vampires *sigh of relief* Next appointment, I get the spiel: well, no bars mean we will change your eating program (hasn’t it proven successful if I already lost 10 pounds?) and I will have to get the Controltrim pills and powder (those are worse than 2 bars a day, they say it’s 2 pills 3 times a day!!!) I am supposed to go in on Monday (Sept. 29, 2008) to get my measurements and my new plan and they will try to force feed me the Controltrim. They are too pushy and they discourage you from enjoying your visits. I will go down on them on Monday and lay it all out, I even consider their advertisement false, they need to either quit the pressure or give me my money back. I am sick and tired of their sales wrestle, but happy with the program. If they change my program and I don’t do the Conroltrim, then I will probably be unhappy with the program and the counselors! My advice is to AVOID LA Weight Loss Centers. Their program works WITHOUT the bars and shakes and pills, but they will pressure you tremendously and it makes you uncomfortable. They falsely advertise their price to get you in and then push you to spend 4 times more with their products. It is not worth the hassle and pressure to go there, even if you can loose weight. There has to be better places than this.

Susan: I absolutely loved LAWL, lost 30+ pounds, and was very sad to see them leave Washington. Of course they tried to sell their products, but I simply said NO and meant it. There was no pressure after that. I wish they had continued their online program as I would immediately join up again.

steph: I had the SAME EXPERIENCE with L.A. Weight Loss as you, Annah! I’m sorry, but you should be able to go to a weight loss center and feel relaxed, encouraged, and soothed. Sensational.com/diet has a review on LA Weight Loss that I think you might like to read.

Helena: My center has also closed with no warning. They owe me well over $1000. I’ve tried but have gotten no results. If there is a class action lawsuit, I would like to know about it.

Dora: I was looking for something that would match my needs. Tried Diet Center, WW, etc. but felt I would benefit from accountability and a more private setting to stay on track. When I signed up, I was surprised at the expense and asked to take the quote home first. I reasoned to myself that this upfront layout would keep me committed. (If they balk at letting you review cost breakdown overnight before signing, kindly decline and leave.) Keep in mind that a lower goal means less expense. I figured my overall cost was less than WW weekly (WW also sells bars, shakes, etc that add to cost, too) I did not do the full program that included the rebate, to keep cost down initially. Because I had some knowledge about nutrition, I scrutinized labels of their products, and was able to say no when pressured, since I did have some allergies. I was given evasive answers to why my startup fee was different than someone else I knew that joined, and they said it depends on how much you have to lose (they must mean money!!) I have lost about 10 lbs and follow the plan without cheating, because it makes sense, but I don’t always have one of their bars unless I’m having a craving. I can’t say my experience has been full of pressure (they do ask each time if I need a product), and knowing sales is their goal, just be in control of your money, say no when you need to and ask questions. If the answer sounds questionable, wait to make a decision. I think generally this plan will work for me, I do keep my food diary, and I hope they do not close anytime soon.

Leslie: Dora, that sounds like you’ve worked out a good philosophy about how to fend off the sales pitches of LAWeight loss, and demand answers when they are evasive. But what I’m thinking now is, should we HAVE to develop these tactics? I have a very stressful job, as a corporate attorney, and all day i am doing battle with someone or other. At the end of the day i do not want to have to continue to do battle with people who are supposed to be helping me. I would prefer a more “hands off” approach where I don’t have to duck and punch all the time. I want to have complete informational disclosure, as well as a respectful amount of space to do my thing. Guidance is great, but LAWeight loss has been more than just guidance. It’s pushy, meddlesome, and irritating. I’m out.

Sue: So far, so good with LA Weight Loss program. The only way you are going to lose weight is if you make the committment to yourself. The counselors help you to hold yourself accountable for your actions. Over the years I have found that there is no “magic” answer. We need to change our eating habits…and it’s not always easy. If you are not 100% ready to do this for yourself, don’t spend the money yet. Good luck to everyone.

Debbie: LA Weight Loss worked well for me. I lost 34 lbs during the first few months of the program in spite of the fact that most of the staff at my Center in Rancho San Diego, CA appeared to be distracted during our “counseling sessions”. This program was very expensive ($896 initial sign up cost) but I was told I would get 1/2 of the money back as I reached my goal weight. When I MET my obiligation I began asking them (5 times to be exact) for my contracted refund. I was lied to by staff, literally told that the check was in the mail along with other bogus stories and to date I haven’t recieved one penny. Now this Center is closing as well as the other in SD County. This company should be prosecuted for FRAUD!

Anonymous in NC: I also worked for LA Weight Loss. Yes the program can work for the lucky ones who respond to a high protein diet, but let me tell you, The portions they give you are not the “real” portions from the American Diabetic Association. In fact, the plan exceeds the maximal protein requirements. So yes, just like Adkins, you lose weight, only to put it back on again if you ever even make it to your goal without going broke. I worked there for over 3 years and I had many clients lose weight only to return again heavier that before. I really did care about these clients and I tried to help them make a lifestyle change so they could keep the weight off. I’m sorry, but eating 2 bars a day is not a realistic lifestyle change for everybody. They teach employees to pray on the insecurities and emotions of the clientele, and make them feel like they can’t lose weight without those bars. At the center I worked at, they even offered financing so members could buy them in bulk for a savings. Some savings, 90 days same as cash – after that 23% interest. Do not join LA Weight Loss and if you already have, do not buy those bars in bulk.

Sue janick: Two years ago I joined LA Weight Loss. I lost all of the weight I wanted to, but I really paid for it! It took anywhere from 3 to 4 months to get the promised money back after weight loss, and after going a year and staying within your goal. A month and a half ago I rejoined to lose about 7 lbs. I paid $257.00. They told me my check would not “go through”. So I gave them my credit card. I later found out that my check (which I voided) really did go through. So now LA owes me my $257+ dollars back. I keep being told that management is e-mailing the company. They’ve kept my money, which they stole, and they won’t send me a check. I need to know how to get ahold of their corporate office to e-mail or call them myself! How can I get this? I was a great customer of theirs before, but I am furious now!

ANONYMOUS: IVE BEEN ON THE PROGRAM SINCE THE END OF MARCH 2008 AND BOUGHT BARS AND SUPPLEMENTS AND LOST 58 POUNDS. I LOVED THE PROGRAM SO WELL I WENT TO WORK FOR THEM. I WAS NOT TRAINED TO PRAY ON PEOPLE AS QUOTED ABOVE AND I FEEL ALL YOU THAT HAVE NOT LOST WEIGHT HAS NOT DONE THE PROGRAM, JUST MAKING EXCUSES FOR NOT DOING AS THEY WERE INSTRUCTED. I AM LIVING PROOF THAT IT WORKS…

Anonymous: we have just started this program but the people that we worked with were very friendly

missy: Hmm, well, then, if you LA Weight Loss employees are NOT trained to harass people into buying more of these products, then it seems many of you are going against your training. Is a commission perhaps offered based on products sold? Often times that is the only inventive that’s needed for sales people to start getting aggressive. All i know is my counselors were also completely distracted, pushy and not compassionate. They said i need to “know my weaknesses” and if i was going to get any results i needed the bars – that if i could do this on my own, i would have already. As if this is the type of thing i should need to hear from someone who is suppsoed to support! I agree. this company needs to be put out of business.

Anonymous: I have mixed feelings with my experience with LA Weight Loss. I was emotionally desperate to lose weight and the Asst. Manager I now feel took advantage of that. I wanted to just participate in the 8 week trial offer that was advertized on the t.v., however, the Asst Manager said that was being offered at this location. I thought it was odd, but she sent me home with the LA information and the weight loss drink and I joined the minimum type payment. Keep in mind I was not told the correct information or the complete information for the program level I paid for. When I went back 2 days later I was persuaded to join a different level of program, costing more money, but I would get a rebate when I reached my goal and stayed within 5 pounds of my goal in two installments. After I paid the additional amount, I was then told that in order to qualify for the rebate I had to eat the LA Lite Bars which I didn’t want to do in the first place and wasn’t required on the cheaper program level. The Asst Manager told me to try the diet for a week. I went back after a week, felt very guilty about spending the amount of money I spent, told the Asst Manager that and that I wished to quit he program. She lost all professionalism, had an attitude, and I pretty much wouldn’t get much of my money refunded. So decided to stick with it. I ended up having to buy additional weeks to reach my goal, onlyused two of the four weeks couldn’t get a refud on that, and ate very little for a week straight in order to reach my goal. At the weight time I actually got a couple pounds below my goal. That lasted for one week and I have not even seen my initial goal since that time a year go. I met the first rebate conditions, but I seem to have to struggle just to maintain within the five pounds. Maintenance is very difficult for me, I seem to have to stay on the weight loss plan in order to maintan at all. The nasty Asst Manager quit and the next Asst Manager was very helpful and encouraging. I bought all the bars I needed to complete the program, but a new worker came in, said it was figured wrong, so I fell prey again and bought over $100 worth of bars at a sale price. Later, it was re-figured and I didn’t have to buy additional bars. So it was their mistake, they gladly took my money, BUT they won’t refund my money I have to use it as in store credit. The counselors are supportive, encouraging, willing to work with clients, but I have spent way more money than wanted to in order to lose weight especially since I can’t seem to reach my initial goal anyway.

Anonymos: After reading all of everyones views I see so many relavant situations. I joined LAWL 6 weeks ago and have lost 12 lbs. But I had to pay $461.00 up front just to cover my 43 weeks and never mention of getting 1/2 rebate after I reach my goal. They think it will take to lose 58 lbs. And I have been pressured to buy lite bars as well. I am partial to one of the counselors who I get along with great, but my question is, why do I feel like it’s too expensive for me and I could do this on my own. Weighing in 3 times a week is depressing if there is no loss. I wish I would have found this site before I paid. And do the bars work or not? After 2 weeks of joining they ran a 1/2 off and have been ever since. If the doors close to my center I will be pissed.

debmemphis: I joined with high hopes, too, and bought all of those bars and other products and now the center here is closing and they have hardly any product==where can we go to complain?

Melody Pissed off in Palm Springs: I wish I had found this web site before I joined. I have lost ruffly 40 pounds in 18 months. Since the new bars came out I have actually put back on 10 lbs. Anyone out there who is still working this program, don’t use the bars. I too had my cholesterol increase as well as my liver enzymes with the product. However, I too purchased a program that was over $800 and was told I would get 1/2 back. I was supposed to lose 72 lbs in 35 weeks, well obviously that did not happen. I too have had my clinic close it’s doors without any warning. I have left 6 messages on their web page with no response and cannot get through on the phone. The manager left a phone number on the door which also is unusable. She is not calling back from her cell phone number. The clinic is gone. I was recently in Utah and Arizona and theirs are gone too. I had purchased enough product for my 3 year contact. That’s over $2000.00. I can’t get my money back or even the product. It is time for the company to be sued and prosecuted for their actions. Please sign me up and many others from California as well on that suit.

Carrie: LA weight loss is more about sales of la lite bars than weight loss. not only that they are not honestabout price from the beginning i ended up owing $1500.00 could have got a personal trainer for that price. Read the fine print before you sign.

Kathy S.: I joined LA Weight Loss about 7 weeks ago, and so far have lost about 13 lbs. However, now they are going out-of-business and taking all my money with them! I had to pre-pay over $450 for their program, PLUS extra for the bars and supplements and their juice for the “Take-Off” every two weeks. All of that was PRE-PAID! Now I can’t get the products I’ve paid for and I can’t even get the couseling that was promised in the written agreement I signed at the beginning. Let me know if anyone has a lawsuit going and if I can jump on the bandwagon, because I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!

Melody Pissed off in Palm Springs: I have had one email from corporate office and was informed that the franchise owner closed the doors. I let them know that regardless they are the parent company and therefore responsible. I also informed them that I would be filing a class action suit on 11/15/08 if everyone of us have not had full compensation for our losses. I will keep you posted about the necessary information if a suit is pending and follow up as it goes along with this site. I can be reached at atkinmelody @ aol.com if you are interested in participating in the law suit or if you already have one going let me know so that we can coordinate this effort. We will be far more effective if we have numerous people involved rather than only a few.

Happy with success: O don’t know what all of the gripe is about. When I lived in grand rapids, michigan I joined the program. I followed the plan and bought i month supply of the supplements and bought tons of the bars. I think the flavor of the bars are great. I was on the gold plan and followed it as I was supposed to. I also excercised regularly. I went from 167 to 135 in 3 months. The people were friendly and I enjoyed them. I’ll admit, I needed to lose wait and I did not know how. I actually learned how to plan my meals and make healthy choices. Think of this: you go to college to learn and pay $1000 for a class that you are not sure you are going to pass. If you fail, you don’t get upset and try to get your money back. I don’t think that there were out trying to just take your money. I am truly greatfull that I went to LA Weight Loss b/c they changed my life forever. If it had not been for that program, I would probably still be lost.

tonya: Well, Happy With Success, that’s great that you have had success and are pleased with LA Weight Loss. However, i have to point out a few flaws in your “college education” analogy regarding LA Weight Loss. In college, they teach you skills to use for life, for your profession and just for well-rounded knowledge. They don’t just push you to buy more and more books while not really teaching you much of anything. Universities don’t just suddenly pick up and close on their students. I could go on and on but the point is, college gives you what you came for, mroe or less. It isn’t built around a sales pitch and it doesn’t just disappear.

claire: I worked at a center as a counselor. The program worked if you worked it. If medical or paych issues were not roadblocks to success, the the plan worked. I incorporated into my daily life as a counselor I still had weight issues, but by learning how to not mix certain proteins, limiteds such as white flour and keep the sodium down, I lost 25 pounds without the hassle of the sale which I must admit was mind boggeling. As a counselor and a nurse I felt their pressure on us to sell was off the charts. I used to feel bad for the clients, sometimes we would get their entire income tax check. Also, if you didn’t sell, you were out of there. It wasn’t counseling at all. It was sales. They also made great money as management far beyond what one would expect, like 60,000 for an assistant mgr, and like 80,000 as a store manager, so the selling had a consequence, these managers were looking at losing some kick ass money. All in all, if you work the diet part, and have no major health issues, substitute another bar for the lites (from the grocery store) use oranges instead of the take off juice, you can get around buying the supplements. Just remain steadfast, say you are allergic to soy. You’ll see how little time you get at the counseling end of it if you are not buying.

dita: I joined a San Diego (Clairemont office) LA Weight Loss program in Nov 2006 and was and am still happy with the results I got. I didn’t buy into the HIGH PRESSURE of buying all the vitamin supplements (EXTREMELY OVERPRICED) nor did I ever buy any of their snack products (they tasted horrible). The only items I ever purchased from them were the Slim Down shakes, the Lites (the mandatory protein bars which I thought were a scam because “the protein and soy would keep skin from becoming loose and saggy after weight loss”) and a couple of bottles of Take-Off (read the label…it’s just mixed fruit juice). I stuck to the plan and lost weight effortlessly. In fact I was losing too quickly. You have to be committed to this plan and it’s easy. I will admit I didn’t like the Hard Sell at the beginning and I knew they were preying on my low self-esteem, but at least I realized it! The one-on-one counseling was dismal as I felt the counselors didn’t know anything about nutrition. One counselor always attributed any weight gain to “SODIUM”. Their employee turnover was unbelievable but now reading the blogs from former employees I understand why. I did make my 6 month Maintenance Goal and DID receive my rebate check. I did make my 12 month Maintenance Goal on August 4, 2008 and I’m still waiting for my rebate check. Several weeks ago I called the Mission Valley office and was told that the rebates were taking 6 to 8 weeks and that if I didn’t get it within the next two weeks to call again. Today is 10/29/08. I started trying to call the local centers (since the Clairemont office closed just weeks after I hit my 12 month goal)and have been getting voice mail. Not a warm and fuzzy feeling. As with any weight loss program ~ you’ve got to be committed. Weight is not just going to drop off becasue you’re seeing a (sic) counselor. It’s the accountability that kept me going. Get a partner to lose weight with you. It will be cheaper and less risky, seeing as so many of these blogs have been stating that the LA Weight Loss offices are closing and not refunding any money to their clients.

jenny g.: the la weight loss in my town closed a month after i signed up for it! who do i contact to get my money back?? the corporate office? i was weak enough to “buy into this & spend too much moeny on supplements…i feel cheated!!

IVONNE ROSADO: I JOINT THE L A WEIGHT AND LOST 40 POUND.THE ONLY THING THEY CARE IS TO SELL THE BARS AND SUPLEMENTS.THE PROGRAM IS VERRY EXPENSIVE TO BEGIN WITH.TODAY I WENT TO THE CENTER TO FIND OUT THAT THEYARE CLOSING ALL THE CENTERS IN PUERTO RICO.JUST LIKE THAT.SOMEBODY HAVE TO STOP THIS PEOPLE.WE PAY FOR OUR PROGRAMS,PRODUCTS AND MAINTENANCE AND NOW WHAT. THEY CLOSE WITHOUT A NOTICE.FOR ME THIS IS A VERRY SAD EXPERIENCE.

dina: I feel so bad for all the people that lost their money. I worked as a manager for 6 years, and was not treated well by our regionals and VP. I stayed because I loved my clients. The program did work for the people that followed it, and the lites did help control cravings. It is true that the owner didn’t care about the clients or the employees. The reason we had so much turnover was because they made us work like slaves, many days with no lunch. I hope VAHN the owner pays for all he’s done to the clients and the employees. Worst company in the world!!!!!

Anna: I JOINED LA WEIGHT LOSS IN GREEN BAY IN JULY OF 2007 AND HAVE LOST 75+ POUNDS. I PREPAID FOR OVER ONE YEAR OF WEIGHT LOSS , A YEARS SUPPLY OF BARS, WHICH I HAVE NOW USED UP AND A YEAR OF MAINTENANCE. I FEEL THAT ANY DIET REQUIRES PERSONAL COMMITTMENT AND HABIT CHANGE AND THAT I HAVE ACCOMPLISHED THAT AND WILL CONTINUE TO LOSE AND KEEP OFF WEIGHT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS NOW THEY ARE CLOSING IN MY AREA. THEY HAVE OFFERED SOME KIND OF CONTINUED CARE PLAN WHERE YOU WEIGH YOURSELF AT HOME, REGISTER YOUR DIET ON THE INTERNET AND A COUNSELOR CALLS YOU AT A PRE-SELECTED TIME, BUT NONE OF THAT HAS COME TO ME IN WRITING, AND THE PROMISE OF MY MAINTENACE FEE MAKING ME ELIGIBLE TO HAVE THIS SERVICE FREE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE IS UNREALISTIC, AS NOTHING IS FOR FREE AT THIS PLACE AND BASED UPON THE BLOGS I AM READING HERE. I AM BEGINNING TO SEE THAT I WILL HAVE PAID FOR 9 MONTHS OF MAINTENANCE WITH A PROMISED 50% REFUND ON THAT MAINTENANCE THAT I WILL NEVER BE RECEIVING. OF COURSE NO BUSINESS HAS A CRYSTAL BALL AND OUR ECONOMY IS BAD. I DON’T BLAME THE COUNSELORS WORKING THERE. OWNERS MUST HAVE HAD AN INKLING THAT THE PROGRAM IS NOT DOING WELL FINANCIALLY. WHY THEN WERE THEY SIGNING UP CLIENTS AND SELLING PLANS JUST LAST WEEK? SEEMS FISHY TO ME. ON ONE RECENT VISIT THEY TRIED TO SELL ME ANOTHER 6 MONTHS OF WEIGHT LOSS BECAUSE I HAD NOT MET MY GOAL IN THE FIRST YEAR. THE PRICE ON THIS 6 MONTHS WAS FAR LESS THAN MY HUSBAND HAD PAID TO JOIN JUST THE WEEK BEFORE. WHEN I POINTED IT OUT TO THE MANAGER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE COUNSELOR MAKING THE OFFER MADE A MISTAKE AND DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE PROMOTION, AND THAT I IN FACT COULD USE MY MAINTENACNE WEEKS FOR CONTINUED WEIGHT LOSS AND THEN JUST BUY MORE WEEKS ON THE END OF MY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM IF NEED BE. GLAD I DIDN’T DO THAT. I AM SO DISCOURAGED TO SEE HERE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF AND DID NOT LOSE WEIGHT. THAT HAS TO FEEL EVEN WORSE. I AM SORRY THAT IS HAPPENING TO SO MANY PEOPLE. WE ARE ALL VULNERABLE AS CONSUMERS AND I THINK THE BEST ADVICE I AM GETTING OUT OF READING ALL OF THESE IS THAT YOU SHOULD ALWAYS PAY BY CREDIT CARD AND DO NOT PURCHASE TOO MUCH IN ADVANCE.

Pauline: It jus makes me sick to my stomach thinking about al the money i spent on the program only to have the LA weight Loss close up shop 3 months after joining! I’m tired of complaining about it though, just wanted to let you all know that Jillian Michaels has a good at-home program http://www.jillianmichaels.com/offer. Been on it for 2 weeks and already lost 6 lbs. There IS hope for a better way, at least. DOn’t give up!

leanne: Closed oweing me money.. Corporate will not respond to me by phone mail or email. They just closed and left oweing me money (LA Weightloss)

La-Weight Loss Employee: Hi There I am so sad to have read all of the comments about the centers closing. As an employee for La-weight loss in Toronto Canada I must say it is true. All of our Toronto Markets were just told over a conference on Monday Nov 3rd 2008 at 6pm by our corporate head office in the US (same one as stated in another blog) that our centers will be closing within the next 4 weeks. The way this was done was just not right, they keep going on about how our clients come first and to try and get them on the la-on the go program before we shut down. And in the next breath we have been told to throw out all the before and after pictures of the clients (very sad). We too also told that we were not to say anything to the clients about the close and that they would be getting a letter about the center closing on their next visit in. My heart goes out to all of the clients in Canada and the US. I was a client before I started working there and have been in your sit as a client and yes the program does work (with or with out the bars) so I know what you all must be feeling. As a now unemployed single mother of La weight loss I just wish they went about this in a different manner, at least they could have given us a heads up on what was coming. I’m sure I will have a great Christmas this year. Thank you for letting me post A devoted La counselor from Toronto

Dayna: I have been part of LA Weightloss for 6 months. I have lost 30lbs and am happy with my progress. I know you can lose faster but I am not taking the supplements. I just picked up my last 44 boxes I had preordered. I found out today that our centre in Oshawa, ON is closing Dec 19. It’s the busiest location in the GTA. it doesn’t make sense that it’s closing. I got a folder regarding LA on the go which is to replace it and cover me until my membership runs out. I will miss the one on one counselling. I need that accountability of weighing in front of someone 3 times a week. hopefully this new service will carry on providing recipe ideas, tips to mix up my diet and advice when i’m going out to eat.

Joyce: I liked the program but unfortunately my center closed within 3 weeks of joining. Of course they let me feel out refund paperwork but I had to prepay all the money so I am now out $2000 and no refund has ever appeared. The program works I am still losing weight, I just feel very cheated I paid for something I am not receiving. Anyone filing a lawsuit I would be interested. Its a lot of money to pay for something you can’t get.

Angela Donham: Wow, I wish I had read this prior to joining. My husband and I both joined LAWL in July 2008, he lost 40 pounds, I have lost 12.I too kept getting conflicting advise. The counselors I dealt with were very nice and encouraging, however you could tell they were not properly trained. I did feel forced to buy things at times.Every time I went in I saw a different person who gave different advise and here I am stuck at 12 pounds. And as with so many other posts I’ve read, with no warning…they closed. I did get my bars that I had paid for, but wasn’t the sales pitch to keep the bars at the clinic and not taking up room at home? I am veey disappointed in LAWL, I want my money back. I do not like the idea of LA on the go. I think that is the biggest cop out I have ever heard.Oh and conveniently enough the web site email doesn’t work. If I can reach these people I will post the info. Angela, Odessa,Texas

sara: JUST SAY NO! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND THEN LEAVE TOWN! It worked and was a great program for me BUT and here is a BIG problem….they closed their doors all over the austin area and took all of our money and product with them. This is wrong, it is stealing! I hope someone starts a class action suit against them! I have tried getting a hold of them but the corproate number just refers you to the web site. I wouldn’t join LA Weightloss and trust them with my money again! There are other diets rated much better! Do your homework!

Kevin: I paid over $900 for the program. I lost 24 pounds in 2 months. It was working well and I felt good. They tried to pressure me to buy the bars but I did not give in. I did buy them when I needed them. I had a sweet tooth but I toned it down. I always kept a box of bars at my house though. So 2 months into a 9 month program the LA Weightloss center closed down without notice. Calls and e-mails to their coporate headquarters were not returned. I would recommend joining a good gym with a good nutrition program instead of throwing your money away at LA Weightloss. LA Weightloss has no ethics and that was the only downfall of a good program. The will chew you up and spit you out.

Troyce: I started lawl 09-14-07 I only loss 8lbs and over $500.00. When I saw I could not loss any more weight, I opt to quit and filled out a Refund application for the la lite bars I had Paided for and was told I would receive my refund in six weeks. The center closed the next week. I can not get any one on the web site or phone. If any one can come up with a contact number please let me know.

Pam: YES, I had the same experience as others as far as them taking your money. They were supposed to refund my money and it has been over three months and they have not done it. Does anyone know how to start a class action lawsuit? I’m not sure if it can be done because I think they are individually owned. If you know please let me know, I want them to pay for all the wrong they have done to people by taking their money and running.

Hortense: Dudes, LA Weight Loss is NOT a gym!!!

anonymous: Having worked for LA Weight Loss for 4 years, I will say it was one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever had. I helped transform people. I never pressured clients EVER. I watched people lose hundreds of pounds and, personally, I lost 50+ and have kept it off for 4-1/2 years. The program works but, like all businesses, you need to check them out. As the saying goes, Caveat Emptoer…not sure if I spelled it right. Buyer beware. For those of you who lost weight, here’s to your newly acquired and prolonged good health. For those of you who did not, don’t give up…find a program that works for YOU. One size does not fit all.

Meryl: IT was starting to be a good program, I lost 13 lbs in 3 weeks on LA Weight LOSs and excited to keep going. The location closed and I cannot get in touch for a refund even though it has been nearly for months. I am deeply disappointed in them. As a side note I have been doing well on the 5 Factor Diet which I found here and with it have lost 22 lbs in less than 2 months 5factor.com/offer ! My goal was to be under 140 lbs by the end of hte year and I think I will make it ( 14 lbs more to go)

Jenny: What a joke!! After being drilled about weighing in 3 times a week in order to be successfull and then trying to convince people that phone conversations will sufice, I have only one word… HYPOCRITES!! Don’t say one thing and run the other direction. To the FORMER employees of the chico Ca center, please take etiquette classes. LA Weight Loss do yourselves a favor and try to redeem some dignity by making things right with contract holders.

Bess: LA Weight Loss is a rip off. They take your money with the promise of continued service, and it doesn’t happen. I joined over a year ago and successfully lost over 80 lbs., although I still have 40 to go. Now I find the center is closing, and while had me complete paper work to get a refund for th $700 I am owed, it looks from other people’s comments here that I am unlikely to receive it. The offer of LA on the go is a joke. If I had thought that weighing myself and talking online to a counselor would help, I would have sought out a business like that. I paid for face-to-face personalized counseling, which I was getting (along with a lot of unwanted sales pitches), but the company did not deliver on their promise. Some of the counselors blogging on here say they were in it for the customers, but when you are being trained to take advantage of peoples’ weaknesses to make a sale, you need to acknowledge that the company is not about weight loss… it’s only about making a buck and ripping people off. I was nearly assaulted by a counselor in Green Bay when I told them I did not want the LA to go and that I wanted a refund because I feel as though I have been misled. So, if you want to work for a crappy crooked employer who rips people off, be trained to lie to customers to make a profit, and then go home and sleep like a baby at night, don’t blame me when I complain about your company’s not following through on their legal obligation to honor a contractual agreement.

Rowena: I joined LA in May, 2008. I lost 46 lbs by August, which was my goal. I now weigh the weight i’ve wanted to in years. Before LA, I starved to lose, but with them I really was not hungry. I’ve learned to eat healthy. I include all of my necessary foods into my daily diet. I did walk and ride my bike every day, which i still continue to do. It’s been a positive experience for me in every way. I will continue to use their plan for the rest of my life, as i feel it’s not a diet but a healthy lifestyle. On a sadder not, i had paid for my stability and maintenance, but had not rec’d the counseling for this and cannot reach anyone to get a refund. If anyone knows of an email address or phone #, pls pass along My email address charliebursey @ gmail.com Also the LA Weightloss i joined was in St. John’s, NL Kenmount Road Canada

Kim, in Tenn:: Save your money, do not join. All L.A weightloss does is tell you to eat vegts, and fruit, portion control. They want you to show up 3 times a week to weigh in and try to sell you their supplements and lite bars, which do not work. If you follow the food triangle that’s all you need to know. Not all centers have equipment. Yoga and strength training at home with my WII have helped me. But I was taken for hundreds of dollars for the same thing I could have got if only I had of researched it first, and free. i am disgusted with myself for losing the money.

Jessica: LA weight loss works, and it works great. I have the same metabolism as my mom, she loses about 1 pound a week with weight watchers, I lose one pound a day with la weight loss. I lost 60 pounds in about 2 months a couple years ago, and I’ve just started it again to get more off.. it works, you just have to commit to it.

Claudia: I am in the same situation as a lot of you my LA weight loss closed on, took my check with them. I am not sure how I can put to words how I feel. I have had saved a long time to be able to afford the program and I am not really sure what to do now.

Lisa: I used the program and lost about 35 pounds the first time. The loss is very slow for me. I will have a nice loss and then plateau for a long time. I quit when I wasn’t reaching my goals. Then about 4 months ago I signed back up and lost about 20 pounds. Again a plateau and now the doors are closing so there will be NO support. I am also not going to get a refund on my services or product (which we were practically forced to purchase). I will be submitting a complaint to the BBB

Cindy: After attempting to lose weight with LA Weightloss program, I decided to get Lap Band surgery. I was told 3 months ago that I would get a refund of the 9 months that I did not use. I am still waiting for my money. I cannot get an e-mail address to contact them and if I call the phone number to the local facility that can also not get a response. I feel like I have been ripped off and can get no satisfaction. I was told that the company was purchased and I would have no problem receiving my money for the contract even though I would have to take the product that I had purchased. I want some kind of response soon or I, too, will be contacting the BBB and perhaps a lawyer.

Drea: Only lost 8 lbs with LA Weight Loss and after an entire 6 months of the program, finally decided to move on. I’m not surprised they’re shutting down left and right, I didn’t find hte program to be all that helpful. I started taking Miracleburn and joined a gym 4 months ago and have lost 33 lbs. Should’ve just done this in the first place, its still cheaper than LA Weight loss was.

pissedoffinpalm springs: It was recommended that we each contact your state’s Attorney General for help. If we make enough compliants they will file a class action suit. It has been since September and still no word from the company. I think we are out of luck any other way to get compensated.

BETTY SUE READLING: I go to the la in Huntersville,NC THey have shut down & I need my products & refund back I am highly upset & wanted to finish the program you have my name & email please respond THis will surely give La weight loss a bad name . Betty Sue Readliing

Hardwork butworthit: I would like to tell you about my time with La weight loss I stared my program in my home town of Utah in the begining of 2004 and I worked hard I went through a lot of this with staff changing and people telling you one thing and then a nother but I payed for all my items and went 3 time a week faithly and did what I was told and then at the end of 2006 I reached my goal of 75+pounds and felt great I was in the last part of the program and I got pregent with a nother baby #5 baby for me and so I tried to do what I learned from the program while pregent and I put on 30pounds back on so I had the baby went back to the weight loss center in 2008 March and I spent more money but I worked hard at it again and the ladies at my center were really good they helped as much as they could I lost the weight it took tell Sept of this year and I have been so far able to keep it off the center in my area closed in Nov2008 what a hard thing but I feel I have learned I have been watching what I eat and exercising and it has helped me to become a better person from day one when I went into the center clothes size 18 now I am a 4-6 and it is so awesome I just wish all the items that I bought I could get my money back for that with the way things are going life is really tought I just hope that others out there are able to find a way that will work for them to lose weight and that they can be happy about themselves I am glad I joind and learned I just wish I would have been able to save money I (spent the hole program 8,900.00) what a loss but I feel the best thing I learned was to take care of myself and watch the serving sizes and eat friuts and vegies and stay away from white suger(the only time I had white suger was in the bars) I hope there is someone out there reading these email and can help us find a way to get are money back for all the hard times most of us went through at one point or another. let all work together where ever we are and find away to get this fixed and get every body there money that they all need thanks.

J. Jeanne: I went to the LA Weight Loss in La Quinta Calif and was taken for several hundred dollars when it CLOSED ABRUPTLY and i was unable to get my money back! they never gave any notice nor did they recommend another option or MOST IMPORTNATLY REFUND MY MONEY!! This in my opinion is unpforfessional and unforgivable. I will never patronize this c ompany again, although i will continue to seek the money that i rightfully deserve. I am now on the South Beach diet and I’m losing the weight steadily.

S. Gooden: HUGE THUMBS DOWN!! I’ve been on the plan for over a year and have lost only 20 lbs – I have 60 more to go. It took me 7 mos. to lose the 20 pounds but it started coming back on while I was on the program. Naturally it was something I must be doing wrong. I bought the bars up front because I was told they were required – lots of $$. I was unable to take the Take Off and some supplements due to medical conditions but then after much pushing on my part to see if I could get some results, I was allowed to use them after dr’s permission was given. Still nothing happened. I was also walking an hour a day plus doing other exercise at the time. My food journal was given to Nutritionists often but never had any real suggestions given. I gave up for July & August as we were out of town. I went back again in October and was given new rules – apparently the first “trained professionals” weren’t trained properly and I was given wrong food information – THANKS!! I was finally moved down to another food plan with the lower caloric intake but still no results. I was told by the manager of the Brandon, MB, Canada Centre that it must be something medical because it takes 3000 calories a day to maintain 200 lbs and so I should be losing if I was following the plan – which I AM! I am now looking at trying to get some compensation for this – but they won’t even tell me where the head office in Canada is so I can contact someone above the regional manager! What kind of a crock is that?!? I still HAVE to lose the weight but will never go back there after being argued with about the menu and basically called a liar. I wish this could be made totally public so no one else would go through this crap!

Sue: seven months, two weeks, and five days … and i hit my goal weight … i was able to stabilize my weight, and have now maintained it for a year come January 8, 2009 …. Over the past five years i have lost 100 pounds … i hit one plateau and was able to maintain a loss of 30 pounds .. i hit a second plateau after loosing another 30 pounds .. but then nothing seemed to work ……. however, i did maintain that weight loss … then a friend took me to LA weight loss (and I told them I wasn’t going to buy any of their stuff), they treated me just as good as those who did use their foods and supplements … and the final forty pounds came off …. i could not have done it without their motivation … I got back 1/4 of my membership cost when i stabilized my weight for six weeks …. and i am going to get another 1/4 cash money on January 8 ……….. i needed the personal counseling, the motivational contests, and most of all the food diary which they always checked when I would come in for my weigh-ins …. Thank you LA Weight Loss, I love you!

Angela: I really enoyed LA Weightloss. I lost over 70 lbs and kept it off for a couple of years. The program is common sense, easy to follow, and the support I received was excellent. It taught me how to eat, even when I had an unexpected restaurant meal, I knew how to make sensible choices. I believe I have truly learned portion control and making sensible choices and think that anyone who says it doesn’t work either didn’t follow the plan or believed that product alone was going to do the job.

katie: hi S.Gooden, wow, i can really relate to your story, becuase i too was more or less acused of not really following the LA Weight Loss Program. The problem with this program is that they do NOT seem to take into accouont people’s individual metabolisms or that people’s BODIES ARE DIFFERENT! I was surprised i would think nutritionists would know that. Sure you can apply a blanket statemtent “oh you have to eat 3,000 calories to maintain 2oo lbs” but that is an over generalization and not carved in stone! Somteimes people have slower metabolisms, and of course height and bone structure also factor into it. so its flabbergasting to me that they can just slap one number on across the board and think they have an understanding of weight loss. I am actually grateful that my center closed becuase i was forced to find anohter option. Now i am on a diet of 1,200-1,400 per day and i also take a supplement (slim10) to increase my metabolism. its making a lot more sense for me than LA weight loss ever did.

Linda: I liked the one on one accountability. The bars were something to look forward as snacks. They kept me from cheating. I didn’t like the way they suddenly changed names and promised all kinds of “new” stuff. I should have figured out that something was wrong and not gotten hustled into buying bars ahead because they were on “sale.” I liked the individualized attention although it wore thin after awhile when someone who knew less about nutrition tnan I do was telling me that carrots had a lot of sugar or that I couldn’t have a pastrami sandwich (which I have ONCE a year when I go to Canter’s in LA!) I like the Flex Plan at Weight Watchers for the eating plan part.

LINDA YENSHAW: I LOSS WEIGHT ON LA 5 YEARS AGO. I WENT BACK TO THE CENTER BECAUSE I GAINED MY WEIGHT BACK.THREE AND ONE HALF MONTHS LATER THEY CLOSED DOWN ALL THE CENTERS IN NORTH CAROLINA. I AM OUT OVER $2,000.00. I AM GOING TO WRITE TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF NC AS THAT IS WHAT THE NEWS PEOPLE ARE SAYING TO DO AND ALSO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. I THINK THAT WE SHOULD ALL GET TOGETHER AND FIND A LAWER AND START A CLASS ACTION SUITE ON THEM. I PAID THROUGH CARE CREDIT AND I STILL HAVE A BALANCE WITH THEM. I AM GOING TO CALL THEM TOMORROW ABOUT DISPUTING THESE CHARGES. LINDA YENSHAW CONOVER, NC

Diane: I joined 18 months ago and reached my goal and went on to lose more, happily. I was ready to change my lifestyle and habits, and I’m glad I experienced a measure of personal success. I got sucked into buying a year’s worth of bars for maintenance (via high pressure); shortly thereafter I was told the center was closing and that I’d be moved to the on-line program. This was back in October. I e-mailed them a number of times inquiring as to how the program would work and when I would get my bars (that they supposedly didn’t have in stock at the time my center closed). Then someone (no name given) responded on 11-11-08 and said a secretary would be calling me to set up my program and get bars sent to me “asap.” I have called, e-mailed, tried contacting other centers in neighboring cities which apparently have also closed, and have now filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have received no return phone call, nothing in writing since the place closed, no e-mail response, no contact whatsoever on any level. This is a BAD program – lots of high-pressure tactics, hidden costs, improperly trained staff that you never see consistently due to their high turnover, and the WORST customer service. I hope someone posts a class action link, because I’ll gladly join in.

pissedoffinpalmsprings: I just received a letter from my attorney general for California. I was given the following information. Contact the Office of Attorney General, Heatlh Care Section, 14th Floor, Strawberry Square, Harrisburg, PA 17120. They already have received over a 1000 complaints and have filed suit. They are looking for full reimbursement as well as compensation for this behavior. We are finally on the right track.

Leslie: I joined over a year ago and lost 52 pounds. I gained a few back and resigned with their “Back on Track” program. Two weeks later my center and every center in my vicinity has closed and no one will call me. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! I was extremely happy with the results…………..until this!

Myrna: Gresham Oregon closed their office, never notified me and they still owed me $190 in bars. Now I have no way to contact them. Rip Off for sure.

Christine: Was just starting to feel good about joining LA Weight Loss when they closed down on me too. That was more than a month ago, and so I didn’t have anything to stick to over the holidays, which was a HUGE disappointment. However 2 weeks ago i ordered SLim 10 and am back to where I was (11 lbs smaller) when my center shut, in half the time too. I don’t know, for awhle I didn’t trust pills but now, after the experience wiht this weight loss center, I feel more in control taking a supplement that I know works. ANd its cheaper too.

jenna: I joined LA and lost 16 pounds in 3 months. I was somewhat satisfied with the program but felt very restricted, especially when we went out or to a social gathering. I also went through some pretty humiliating belittling when I fell off the program because I found out my son had a life-threatening illness. Very insensistive. But the worst is that the entire Milwaukee market closed on short notice and its 11 weeks later and I STILL haven’t gotten my refund. I am looking to see if there is a class action law suit in my area against them. Any help in that regard would be appreciated.

PATTI: RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN ALL THE CENTERS ARE CLOSING AND YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOU MONEY, I PAID 400 4 MONTHS AGO AND THE CENTER CLOSED. THEY OFFERED ME 68 REFUND…WHAT A JOKE..I AM TRYING LA ONLINE AND I HAVE GOTTEN THE RUN AROUND SO GOOD LUCK WITH ANOTHER PROGRAM,,,,,

kathy.: i worked for la weightloss for 6 years. They are nothing but money scams. In Tampa fla. the regional owner so nothing but a money hog all we were taught was sale sale sale. I enjoyed helping my clients lose weight i would move around the program for their goal to be reached. I did not make my clients buy all those bars and vitamins. I now own my own weightloss company and doing great with my clients that reach their goal and i love it. Get a lawyer and get your money back. All LA Weightloss are closing and running off with your money and the big guys are in jail. if you do not do it soon you and millions other people will not get your money back or products owe to

Sherry: I joined LA Weight Loss in May, paid for 1 year for membership and LA Lites which totalled over $1000.00 and got notification that the Centre went into receivership, I will not be getting a refund or my product. That is not what the radio announcement in my area said or the paper that they gave us when they told us they were “restructuring” only when I threatened to go to the news paper and our Better Business Bureau in Canada did I get a response back that the company was in receivership in our area. There are lots of people like myself who are infuriated they just took our money and hung us out to dry so it is buyer beware obviously these people have no conscience about taking your hard earned money, they just don’t pay their bills with it. I believe that the centers are actual franchises and I do have the name of the owner and recognized agents. As far as I am concerned it is nothing but a big scam.

Upset in OR: How do I add my name to the class action law suit? What a rip-off. They do not answer your message when you leave one. What can we do to get our money back???

Deb: Everyone is asking how to get money back but I have not seen an answer yet has anyone or does anyone know

Anonymous: When I first came in to get a consultation to join la weightloss the girls that worked there were very warm and welcoming – I really believed these people were here to set a positve and motivating attitude – until I joined. After that I was treated as just a number and not as a human being.Very, very disappointed.

Abby: That’s EXACTLY how I felt: deceived by L.A. Weight loss. I cannot say I’m surprised that so many are closing down, they really don’t care about their customers in the least. Maybe its a blessing in disguise though, since I didn’t have the support I’d signed up for, I was left doing it on my own.THat led me to other possibilities and I’ve been workign out with the Flex belt (http://www.theflexbelt.com/video ) for my abs (lost 2 inches from my waist already!) and walking more. Its a really convenient device & I can use it whenever I want, without having to answer to anyone.

Farz: hi folks it’s been 5 weeks that i’m tring L.A weigh loss but my progress is slow howewhere i think i’m tring my best and i lost 8 lbs but i;ve been told that i lose 2 lbs weekly but it’s so frustrating when i don’t see any changes for weeks.does anyone know why weight don’t come off for weeks? is it because i have to buy bars as well?

stacey: Even if my center in gresham ore hadn’t’ suddenly closed on me, i would not recommend LA Weight Loss. they were all about the money and the center was not every nice, and the staff was no more knowledgable than i am. they just wanted my money and now they got it,

JLM: Hello, I joined LAWL and paid in advance for the LA Lite bars. The center’s doors closed in our city, with no personal notice to clients. I have been unsuccessful in reaching someone to answer my questions, and to get information about how to receive the merchandise I paid for, and/or to be reimbursed for it. Could someone please help me with this?

nancy: i am a client from puerto rico and la weightloss closed a center near me after i paid for a full year.now they wont respond for a return.but i am a common housekeeper and the program does work.its a shame the professionalism and responsability are not included.

Christine: Do NOT even consider enrolling with LA Weight Loss at this time. It was working well enough for me actually, but all the centres in my city (Ottawa, Canada) up and closed without any notice. I had paid for a year’s worth of bars but had only been enrolled two months when they closed, so I calculated I’m out at least 80 boxes of LA Lite bars. And I can’t see to reach anyone. It’s very frustrating.

Carrie: I don’t know why I even still think about this place but it took 6 years of my life. I too worked for LA Weight Loss. I believe in my heart that the program worked great I am also a nutritionist and you can pretty much get the plan from any Dr. but I do believe the counseling was a great thing for people as long as you got me or someone else with heart that cares about people and not a hungry animal just about the buck. The crazy girls they hired for the directors and regents are THE biggest DINGBATS you would ever hear or see, there were a few I did like but still there job is to brainwash everyone into thinking this is going to make everyone very happy. OK now lets talk about ME. I myself weighed 120 when I started working for LA and when I left I weighed 148 this is because I could hardly leave the center and we couldn’t bring food in the center not even a salad so I would eat alot when I got home- oh my hours were 8.30am-7.30 pm. I don’t even know how I lasted as long as I did. I never pushed anyone into buying anything they didn’t want so I guess in the end these dingbats saw that my ####s weren’t real high never mind all the dedication to the co. for 6 years and all the paying out of my own pocket to have there dumb ass open house parties and NEVER got that $$back except 1 time which came out of one of the NICE regenal’s pocket who she never got her$$ back. Yes I guess I’m still a little bitter. but I don’t think it was the owners fault he just hired the WRONG regenals and directors flying them all over the place for these dumb retraining meetings didn’t help his pockets either. I helped a lot of people lose wt. so for all of you, I hope you are all doing well..God bless and keep up the good work. And I wish all of you luck in getting your product $ back. I could say so much more but….

tm: I need some help if anyone can. I joined LA Weight last year in 2007. I was having success. I went out of town for personal reasons for a five week period and put my program on hold. Upon returning, discovered that my center was closed, out of business. I tried to contact other centers in my area and learned that all centers in TX were closed. I was very upset. I really needed that support that i paid for to help me reach my goal. I managed to lose some more but never reached my goal. I have started to gain some weight this past year and am wanting to get back on program. I still have my nutritional plan and know what I need to eat on a daily basis. The thing I am having a problem remembering since I cannot find my paperwork is the start up. I vaguely remember that. I think it was just green vegetables unlimited and protein. I can not remember the details. I was not allowed to do the drink that they give you due to having Irritable Bowel Syndrome, but everything else was the same as it was for every one else. I have tried to contact LA Weight Loss without any success when they closed and was left with an unfinished program. if anyone could help me with the details of the jump start I would appreciate it. Thank you. Tm

Judy: I got great results with LA Weight Loss — are they now closed? What happened? Should I throw away my peanut butter bars because of the salmonella scare?

Lissa: This company has been such a pain in the butt, I’ve been trying to get my money back for about 15 months now. I was pretty early in my program at LA weight loss when they closed their doors on me, which was horrible, esp bcs i actually felt like it was working! does anyone know what happened to the company, why they all suddenly closed? anyway i’ve since switched to the south beach diet, the phase 1 of the diet helped me lose 9 lbs. i felt better about joining an online program, i know that’s not going anywhere.

Georia: How can I join in on the class action suit. The program worked for me but the counseling is what I paid for and now they’re gone. I paid over $1,800 for products and services not totally received. Please add the posting re class action to the top of the website. Thanks.

Colleen: I joined LA Weight Loss January 2005. I lost 65 lbs and have kept most of it off. I pack my cooler every day with the food I should eat for the day. Learning the right combination of food to eat was money well spent. The center I joined never pushed their products. I went to the center for almost two years. I then found Balance Bars which are alot cheaper. I can buy the bars at any grocery or drug store. I had stopped going to the center three months before they closed their doors. All the LA Weight Loss centers in the Northeast have closed.

Marian L.: it was pretty disappointed to find the center closed so soon after i signed up. i feel that if had been able to stick with it til the end, maybe my rating for the la weight loss would be more postive. but i cannot help it i am a little bitter & feel betrayed i guess. What I’ve used now instead, for weight los, is the SLim shot Diet drinks, that I found on this site. I just drink those three times per day and the weight is coming off steady, bought 2-3 lbs a week. I do exercise in addition but this helps with the enrgy & appetite. At least there are other options around.

Jane: LA Weight Loss was working for me. I have severe food/drug allergies which prevented me from using any of their bars, meals, drinks or suppliments. What LA taught me was how to eat healthy and the pounds just keep droping. I am asking anyone out there to please share the stablization etc part of the program for those of us who have continued and now are succeeding but don’t know how to end the diet while maintaining the same weight. You would be doing a lot of folks a favor letting them know they can succeed without their foods, etc. Thank you.

melissa: LA Weight Loss is not a bad program at all, they have some good tips and advise that they teach you, my experience was by and large a decent one. The thing that went wrong is that my center closed suddenly & i wasn’t able to continue because there wasn’t another center near by. seems like this is happening with quite a few centers across the country.

Tree: Complete waste of time and money! I kept fluctuating and they never had an answer for me. LA Weight Loss are more concerned about taking your money than seeing you succeed.

Kate in Duluth, Mn: After only 7 months into my 2-yr membership, my center closed – ‘offering’ me LA On-The-Go by PHONE and e-mail! Although I’d LOST my goal of 53# before it clsoed – the woman ‘manager’ who took over for the good counselors refused to acknowledge my success…(because I was less than 2# over being dressed at weigh-ins!!! THEN, I was given a cardboard box of my lites and told to call LA On-The-Go. It has been NOTHING but a farce! The counselor on the other end can barely tell time, never calls the correct number and does not look at the e-mail journal I work hard to keep up and send! Since reaching my goal in august I’ve gained back 20# – and am more frustrated than ever. I paid a LOT of money for personal contact and support…purchased ALL their hi-priced supplements and got DUMPED. I am going to submit a written request for partial refund!

Fran: My daughter was on the LA Weight loss program and was doing great. She has lost about 40 lbs. Than without warning the center went out of business. She has spent around one thousand dollars. The center was in La Quinta, CA. Patricia should be ashamed of herself for letting all her clients down. I would not recommend LA Weight Loss to anyone.

Christy: I did LA Weight Loss for about 3 years. My goal was 165lbs but after a year I leveled out at 170. I kept at it to pull trough my “flat line” but after a year of being 170, I decided my body was happy at 170, so I chose to make that my goal weight and start maintenance. Half way through my maintenance period all the good LA Weight Loss staff were re-located. I was stuck with staff who were just beginning the program themselves. They tried to push products on my as I started to gain weight back. Three weeks before my refund date I stopped going because I was up to 180 and wouldn’t get my money back. The wheighloss experience for the first year was great, they people were great and the support was great. Towards the end when they were going to have to refund half the money I put in to the program, I was treated badly and pushed away. Needless to say, I have gained all my weight back, plus ten lbs and can’t seem to get any of it off.

JLD: I joined the La Weight Loss program in Feb 2000. I lost 187 pounds in 1 1/2 years and have kept that weight off now for almost 7 years. This program has changed how I look at food and live my life 100%. I started working for LA in 2003 as a counselor and eventually became the manager of my center. I sit here and read all of these comments thumbs up or thumbs down. I agree and disagree with alot of things posted. First of all losing weight is never ever easy. Not everyone has the commitment or the urge to lose weight yet thinks there is some miracle cure when infact no matter how much weight you lose the person you were and the habits you have will always hang with you. You can visit a center to learn more about the program, and to see if this is a “good fit” for you. Some come with the motivation to do what ever it takes to be succesful and reach their goal, others need that extra push to help them find all the reason deep down why they want to lose the weight. I have never made it my personal mission to lower the self esteem of another to make a “sale” The choice to make the decsion to lose weight and follow through is not supposed to be or ever will be easy! Come on if it were wouldn’t we all be thin? If I could wave a magic wand “poof your skinny” I would be a millionaire! I personally take my role in every clients life to heart! I have sat in the chair in which they now sit and sometimes I ask them to switch chairs, I too need the encouragement and the accountability to stay in control and focused. Our center has been thru many changes, with owner ship, counselors etc. It is always a difficult transition when a client becomes close to a counselor with whom they have shared everything with! These ladies working in the centers are not just “weight loss” counselors, they are also humans with family who support and comfort the clients when needed (at least in my center) I know with different centers such as coorporate or franchises they want their staff to push the products. This is a business and they do have to make a profit in order to stay open and service those who are truly commited to losing weight. The La Lite bars are amazing they do work, they taste fantastic and yes they are expensive! However it is a choice of the client to purchase these products. Will the program work without them? YES!! These product are simply “TOOLS” combined with a menu plan and a counselor to continue your motivation or help you find that “NEW” motivation if it is ever lost were are here to help everyone see results. I have used the la lites every day since I started and don’t know what I would do without them. I normally would never log on to a site to read these reviews, however I am saddened to say that I was informed that my center would be closing soon. I don’t know how other owners procedures are to closing a center. I must be extremely lucky since I have been given 2 months to tell all my clients, call the ones on hold or who have not been in to allow them time to come pick up product owed as well as helping them get a refund for any remaining services. I am truly greatful to have an owner who did not run his center to the groud and forcefully shut the door on us all! I hope to all that read this take time to think about how your counselors feel, that most truly do care about you and your results. I wish each and everyone the best of luck on their journey and look forward to seeing all of my clients out there whether its at the grocery store, or the bank and know that what they have learned in their time with our center that this is truly a program designed to work with anyone’s lifestyle and that you can take the knowledge with you where ever you go! You just have to make that decesion. Remember “Nothing tastes as good as THIN feels”

HUNTER: BLAH BLAH BLAH, THE PLACE IS CLOSED! JUST TRY TO GET YOUR $$$ BACK.

Beth: I have been doing LA Weight Loss since September of 2008 and have over lost 42 lbs. I have been very happy with the program and the center that I attend. The people at the center I go to are encouraging, give good advise on food choices, and help me when I am having a rough week. I have not been disappointed with LA Weight Loss. I am healthier than I have been in years and went from a Size 18 to a Size 6. Regular exercise has helped in that regard greatly. I hate to think that people are unhappy with this program when I have had great success. Weight loss when you really get down to is is using more energy than you take in. Exercise and eating less. That will work more than any program we could pay for, but LA helped me focus and for me the money I have paid to them was worth it!

julie: I think I’m liking LA weight loss so far, but i do worry about centers closing and all…so I’m combining it with a good HOodia pill (hoodia p57) just to have my own foundation in case my center shuts down. The hoodia is definitely helping me stay on the diet even when it gets tough…i doon’t feel deprived with this. I’m feeling good and confident that even when i’m finished with LA Weight loss, I’ll be able to moderate my eating & keep the weight off!

mosby: I had been on L.A. Diet but Not I can not find any place to get the L.A. Fast off and the Bars…CAN YOU HELP

Sydney: Mosby, i have not been abble to find the L.A. weight loss bars either, which is especially frustrating since my local center (i live near Spokane Washington) closed rather suddenly. I am feeling so disconnected from the support, the products and even the diet in general. i think I am going to look for something more tried and true, that i can count on consistently.

pissedoffinps: Yesterday, March 18, 2009 I received an Email from LA Weight Loss about getting my products online. My clinic has been closed since October (LA Quinta, CA). I tried to get on the webpage to see about getting the bars that are owed me, however, there is no way to order anything. It is just one more scam by these people. When is the government going to step in and stop these crooks from doing this. People are going to invest more money on these people and get ripped off. They are probably doing this email from out of the country or maybe even from prison. Don’t get your hopes up about getting your $ out of them. They all deserve to be behind bars, even Patricia and you know who you are. The managers and staff are just as guilty as the big wigs. They knew this was happening all over the country and Canada, and did nothing to stop it from happening, in fact they kept giving the public lies, like they lost their leases or the managers defrauded them on their contracts. That’s nothing but bologne, they knew all along. Sham on you all.

EDITH in Murfreesboro TN.: LA Weight loss is a Scam and RIP-OFF!!!!!!! The people arn’t trained in anything but getting your money and that they do. They owe me 500.00 plus in services or money. I PREFER THE MONEY because I would Never go back there. Iwant my money back!!!!!

disappointed in CA: I joined LA Weight Loss around March 2007 and signed a contract of which I paid somewhere around $1000 for the program. I was told I would get half my money back half way through the program. I had a real nice person sign me up and was told I would have my own Dietician to meet with each with and a personal Counselor. As it turned out, the girl who signed me up was no longer there after a few weeks, I never met with my own personal counselor in stead I would get weighed in on my visits and they would ask if you needed to go over anything and always seemed slightly rude. I got the impression that the girls were pressured to get you in and out of there. They seemed disappointed when you didn’t buy there products. The did sell prepared meals which I purchased a few times and they were so gross I couldn’t even eat them. I feel that I basically paid for this program but never really had anyones help, what weight I lost was because I did follow the diet on my own. Everytime I stopped to get weighed thats all that happened, if I didn’t lose they balmed me and never even knew what book I was supposed to be in I had to tell them. I kept getting someone different each time. There were always new “Consultants” and Managers that didn’t even bother to look at my record. I had to ask when I would be getting a refund as stated in the contract. They told me yeah you are due I’ll have to look into it and never heard a word from anyone. I did lose 50 lbs over a 10 month period. If I missed an appointment because of work they would leave a message to get in there. However, I stopped by several weeks in a row and they were closed, finally the last time I stopped there was a sign on the door saying they ahve moved to Oceanside. they never called me to let me know they were moving. I was ripped off as others have been. I tried getting the number for Oceanside to ask where I can go to continue because I wanted to lose more. there is no number and there is no number listed for corporate to talk to anyone. I wish I would have known that they would be such ripoffs I would have never joined. How can I get my money back. They moved from Escondido and Oceanside would have been too far anyway based on my work schedule. I understand all their locations have closed. If anyone knows how to contact them please let me know. I didn’t appreciate them moving and not notifying me and keeping my refund. I had purchased products from them and told them after talking one pill that it hurt my stomache they were $55.00, they should have known (and they told me so) that the product was not something I should have been taking because I have stomache problems. When I asked for a refund they would not give it to me. I’m another person who is not happy with LA Weight Loss.

Milena: I miss La Weight loss they were awsome. I lost 40 pounds thanks to their support and then I became ill and I gain all of it back due to heavy meds. Now when I was okay and well enough to go back on my diet They were gone :-( ( I realy wish they would open one back in my area (MD).

Jane: Milena, can you please tell me after you hit your goal, what the maintenance program was? I have continued the diet as I never bought the supplements and need to know what to do next after hitting the goal. Thank you so much! Jane

Theresa Robinette: LA was a joke…My mom and i joined together, we invested close to 1,500 a peice in the 5 months we were there, with program and product. Then they closed there doors, and said we could OPT for on the go program. Ya mom chose that on the go thing, they stoped answering the phone after a month. What part of PORGRAM SUPORT did they not get. Hello !!! that to me was there program going in and being accountable. I feel they knew when we signed up they were going tits up, we hardly had the same person twice. I heard from a inside sorce, that the man that started LA is one of the CEO’s of nut-system, and almost took them under. I feel completely used, and he should be utterly ashamed of himself for making money from other poeples plights. I hope i’m next to him in line when he is standing befor God giving account on the day….. Theresa in Portland Or

Christina: I give LA Weightloss a neutral just because of the poor customer service. I appreciate the fact that they are teaching you about portions – and how much to eat of what kinds of food – so you are really learning how to eat real food. HOWEVER _ with that said they do sell products like pills and these bars that they insist you MUST eat for the diet to work (which is really ridiculous but how else are they going to make money). Well, I suckered out and bought their package deal of a ton of bars to last me the entire time – but then stopped going – and hence – stopped receiving my bars since they don’t give them to you all at once. So they got my momey and I didn’t even get my bars in the end. I did lose 20 pounds when I was still going – but the 3x a week weigh ins were just too inconvenient for me to keep up with. Plus there was a real b*tch I ended up always getting stuck with for my weigh ins who I couldn’t stand.

Sarah: Joining LA Weight Loss was the BEST decision I ever made. I lost 73 pounds. My husband lost 40. My best friend lost 45. We were never pressured to buy anything. I have read comments about not being able to go 3 times per week. At my location, they worked with me. Most weeks, I went once or twice. There were certain people I liked meeting with better than others. They had no problem letting me meet with the counselor of my choice. I simply cannot imagine how this plan wouldn’t work for everybody, as long as they are honest about following the plan.

Carrie: I loved LA Weightloss. I lost all the weight plus more. I needed the accountability. I joined because I several friends who had been successful on the program. I was given the sales pitch but after I said “no” 3-4 times, they seemed to leave me alone. I would def. recommend it. I weighed in during my lunch hour. I too have a hectic schedule. I worked out on my own.

Edmonton: LAWeight loss sux…… The program only worth $40…. but they are charging thousand of $$ for 1 program…………. thats why the company could earn tons of money. They always have expire product to sell to client…. so dont join LA Weight Loss….. LA Weight loss equal to do a diet program on your own…

Anonymous: I lost 45 pounds and was doing really good. I was on vacation when I came home I found that they went out of buisness. I had boxes of bars that I paid for that I lost because you couldn’t get ahold of anyone to see if you could get them back. – LA WeightLoss

Albertaman: I just joined LA Weight a month ago and so far it’s going quite well, lost 10 lbs (my goal is 20lbs) in that time. So for that I am happy about the program, but what I am not happy about is the new menu plan that they put me on as of May 19,2009. To me it seems like a starvation program, sure you can eat some beef and pasta but only a couple of times a week. The other plan gave the options of 3 – 6 times daily with portion control, now it gets cut back to four and the selections are made for you that is just plain stupid. For example a banana has been cut from a whole banana to a half a banana wtf?!!! As if a whole half a banana is going to make a difference. I won’t even get on the extras such as the bars and juice, it has been done to death already. I agree the whole thing is expensive, yes they need to pay their bills to but come on, $40 for two boxes of mediocre bars is a little extreme. They may work for some but those who don’t want should be able to go without and still get the refund. You don’t get refunded on the bars just the initial sign up fee of $950. Sorry for ranting but that is my 2 cents on this program.

charlene: i joined the LA Weight Loss Center in Laurel MD in 2004. The program worked well for me I changed my whole look. I lost 40 pounds. The food choices were great and also the counselors were wonderful. Now on the other hand when I moved back to Georgia and continued on the plan, the LA Center closed. No warning at all. LA opened another center in 2007, the center wasnt up a year and again gone. So I suggest before you join any center find out if its a cooperation or if its owned by a private owner. If its owned by a private owner BEWARE.

courtney: I also joined the LA weight loss program in 2008 and it was working well for me. I had only been in the program for a few months when it closed on me. A big WTF!

Kristy: LAWeightLoss – unqualified staff, a scale that wouldn’t calibrate, constant changes in meal plan to facilitate the lack of weight-loss after I peaked. Completely disappointed with the push to promote their products after already paying over $1000 to lose.

Debbie: I joined in 2004 (Jan). I lost 41 pounds in the amont of time they said, 6 months.I did not do any of the products, bars, nothing, I learned how to eat to lose weight, making the right choices. I had to eat, to lose weight.I went through the it really easy, got my money back after my maintance was over … it has been 5 years and I am still in my goal area, I gave myself 5 pounds to play with, either I can go 5 pounds under or 5 pounds over. I have learned how to keep it off by my choices. I love it, have no complaints. Though I do know most people I know who did join, was not dissappointed did not lose, and spent lots of money on thier products.I feel if you want to lose weight, you have to want to do it and give it your 100%,you have to give up things, learn to make better choices and then learn how to incorporate them back into your life… I chose not to go back to old habits.. :)

Irene: In 2006, I joined LA Weight Loss and losed 30 lbs. I kept it off for 2 years and then I started to notice that my weight was creeping back up. I looked at my eating habits and realized that I was starting to add the junk food back into my regular diet. I went back on the program by myself. I still had all the information minus the bars. I am back to my minus 30 and then some. If you don’t follow the program, you will not get results. I did add walking for 1 hour 4 to 5 times a week for exercise. Every diet will fail if you don’t follow it. PS- My treadmill also came with some extra info. Surprise, it was the LA Weight Loss plan done with their exercise machine. They just didn’t call it that.

KIM: I was a member of our local LA Weight Loss program until they decided to close the doors. Unfortunately I also was pressured to pay for my whole program and the Lites I would need to be successful in my weight loss ahead. They still owe me 88 boxes of lites and I can’t even get an answer from anyone on their website as to how I might go about getting them. Whoever was running the program here in Maplewood, MN obviously does not have any morals or scruples as they took our money and ran!

M.: LA Weight Loss works great as long as a person is willing to put forth the effort and work. All diets require some degree of effort and work and LA WL is no different. Yes, they closed doors locally and did not inform me. Yes, they did not deliver bars owed to me before closing doors. The claim that supplements had no real value is completely an erroneous statement. I used all their supplements and prepared meals according to their recommendations and lost three pant sizes and renewed a healthy mind, skin, hair, nails, and body. I truly enjoyed flavors and tastes their bars, shakes, and other products. I felt energetic, alert, and for the first time in a very long time I FELT GREAT ABOUT MYSELF. Family and friends noted the difference in my attitude and weight loss. LA Weight Loss may have closed thier local building doors, but, they did not close the doors that opened my mind and heart to a better way of eating for a healthy lifestye!!

Rosemary: I love LA Weightloss!!! i joined just over seven weeks ago and i have lost 28lbs using their Rapid Results plan. I feel fabulous and the weight is falling off. i eat my own foods. i have virtually no cravings. i have bought my own supplements and i am experimenting with other diet bars as theirs is expensive. but otherwise, if you have been struggling to lose weight i highly recommend their program.

Sarah: I took part in this program about 2 years ago and have never felt so ripped off in my life. I starting loosing weight the first month, but the weight loss slowed down the second month and the counselors made me feel awful about my progress. They kept trying to be me to buy more weeks and more suppliments. It seemed like every time I went in they were trying to sell me something and were not really interested in helping me loose weight. I would not, and have not, recommended this program to anyone. I gave them way too much money and felt like I didn’t get any support.

Kim: I joined LA Weight Loss 10 years ago and lost 95 lbs. I had my second child and lost all of the weight but 10 lbs. Now 10 years later I am about 30 lbs higher than my lowest weight. I am going to start the program over again, but on my own as I kept all of my program information. If ever asked I would say it was a great program, it changed my eating happits…it was not a diet but a change of eating habbits for me. It was an expensive program, but I am very happy that I did.

Danielle: I have joined this program twice. The first time I was successful with a 130 pound weight loss. But before I reached my goal and started the maintenance program, the center closed down. The second time, I wasn’t as successful at dropping weight. I may have lost 18 pounds. But once again, the center closed. I feel ripped off by this company. My first success story with them would have been awesome… I mean that’s a lot of weight. I wish someone there had stopped pushing me towards my goal and reminded me just how far I had come. …but it’s all about $$$$. The plan is FAR to expensive and the last time they closed their doors, they owed me at least 1000.00 in service. I will never trust this company again, and as someone who has succeeded at the diet and failed at this diet…take it from me. Change your diet and exercise…costs a heck of a lot less and you don’t have unexperienced counselors who have no idea what you are facing breathing down your neck to buy overpriced products so that someone can stay in business another month or so.

LA Weight Loss

LA Weight Loss is one of a select group of in person based weight loss systems currently available to consumers. Last year Whoopie Goldberg was their spokeswoman, and her dramatic weight loss made this system even more popular than it was in the past. This may be why it’s seen so often on consumer rating sites that discuss and review weight loss products and systems. Let’s take a closer look at LA Weight Loss to see how it works.

 System
LA Weight Loss has several programs available, but the most recent addition to their line up is the 6 Week Summer Slim Down.

 Qualities
Whatever LA Weight Loss plan you choose to use, they all have certain aspects in common, including long term nutritional guidance, behavior modification techniques and meal planning assistance. But the weekly counseling sessions are the key to this systems success, according to its website. These sessions are meant to motivate and inspire, as well as provide the guidance needed for the client to overcome and discuss any obstacles to their weight loss.

LA Weight Loss system is basically made up of three phases: weight loss, stabilization and maintenance. During these phases, the program uses a low calorie model, which is reinforced through the use of prepackaged meals and low calorie nutrition bars and supplements. Recently, LA Weight Loss added a new round of prepackaged foods that includes Vegetable Ziti Bake, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chocolate Truffles and Philly Cheese Steak.

 Price
The LA Weight Loss system website does not discuss the cost of this plan, because they are currently offering a variety of packages at their local centers. Financing options are also available to make them more affordable. Also, the plans’ costs can vary depending upon your goals and personal profile. However, they are currently offering a free consultation with an LA Weight Loss counselor.

 Final Facts
According to the LA Weight Loss website, the program has assisted over two million clients to meet their weight loss goals. The company’s systems offer many of the tools consumers look for in their weight loss programs, including one on one counseling, meal plans, prepackaged foods and nutritional adjuncts, as well as weekly weigh ins.

As we noted above, LA Weight Loss has been discussed a great deal on consumer rating sites. Checking out these sites to see what former and current users have to say about LA Weight Loss can be an effective method of gauging its effectiveness and to see if it’s a good match for you.
