HoodiaP57 - Pure 20X Strength Certified Hoodia
This product is simply as good as Hoodia gets. It is 100% certified, pure Hoodia from South Africa. It also boasts 20X the strength. If any Hoodia product is going to suppress appetite, this is the one. We also like that HoodiaP57 contains nothing else except pure Hoodia -- no fillers and no stimulants. This means it is safe to take whenever you want – including close to bed time. There are hundreds of Hoodia products on the market now, but we don’t even bother to list them on this site, because 99% of them are just cheap imitation Hoodia that is not even from South Africa, where the P57 molecule is the most effective. We chose HoodiaP57 to be on DietBlogTalk because it is of the utmost quality. The maker even includes a certificate of origin from the South African government stating the Hoodia originates from there. This product has nearly a perfect ‘Thumbs Up’ score. Check this one out. And to top it off, they added 500mg of pure South African Hoodia in a 20X potency to every serving. This pill is pure weight loss science. MiracleBurn®
Miracleburn® is a pretty amazing phenomenon. It has consistently received one of the highest ‘Thumbs Up’ blog ratings on our site. The really amazing part is that most of their customers come from word of mouth, and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular diet products available. The maker of Miracleburn® doesn’t spend tens of millions on advertising like alli®, Hydroxycut® or Curvelle to hype their product. They simply let their satisfied customers virtually do the marketing for them. We suggest reading through the postings. The formula consists of a quality form of Hoodia, combined with the patented metabolism booster, Advantra-Z®. It also has several other balancing secondary ingredients. Part of what makes their product such an effective crowd-pleaser is the manufacturing technique and perfect balance of ingredients. Read a full MiracleBurn Review Here.

HoodiaBites
This product is just what it sounds like - chewable Hoodia pieces. The good news is that they actually use a superior quality form of Hoodia, and it works. In fact, this is probably the fastest way to feel Hoodia, because when you eat it, it digests so much quicker. In fact, most customers report that it works in minutes not hours like traditional capsules. The chewable pieces are very much like a piece of taffy and taste good. They kick in faster than a quality Hoodia pill, and definitely do the trick. They are only a few calories per piece, and may be taken safely throughout the day. This is a good product to use by itself or in conjunction with another diet pill/program. Hoodia Bites are well liked by the customers – the blogs score well. Read a full HoodiaBites Review Here.

The Maker's Diet
Many people turn to the Bible and scripture for spiritual guidance and everyday support. Jordan Rubin, the author of The Maker’s Diet, also found inspiration for his weight loss and wellness plan. This program cuts out processed foods and encourages dieters to partake in a whole food lifestyle. There are three two-week phases, which is enough time to generate weight loss, but not overwhelm the diet. Rubin offers sound nutritional advice that focuses on cleansing the body and overall health. However, the diet also offers advice in other areas of life, such as hygiene, and advises dieters to thoroughly cleanse the face, hands and neck in the morning and evenings. This program has received quite high reviews on consumer review websites, and the general consensus for The Maker’s Diet is that it is effective and easy to follow. Claire: I got suckered in by the name which may be clever (inches a weigh) tos ome but unfortunately, i have now come to think of this program kind of like one that moves along at a snails pace, just inching along. Does not work.

Aileen: Nothing special about this one, I got no results.

Wanda: Inches-a-weigh was just like every other weight loss program, & the “gyms” were so small they were a JOKE. This was a waste of time and money. They did not have what I was looking for, not enough cardio.

May: This program was just a pain in the butt for me to follow. After about 2 weeks of shuttling myself to the Inches A Weigh center i’d had enough. They didnt tell me nothing I didnt already know, and I just couldn’t listen to them any longer. I stopped, wished I had never joined.

Diana: Well I live in Missouri what am I supposed to do? I’m not traveling anywhere to lose weihgt.

candace: How is Inches-A-Weigh for women???I don’t get it. Help!

Carrie: I joined the YWCA, instead as it cost a whole lot less.

Ruth: Never was able to become part of Inches-A-Weigh. I wanted to find out more about the program, the website didn’t have much there (like cost and meals etc) and I don’t give my phone number out over the Internet so I didn’t get in touch with them. It’s too bad I believe there’s a center close to my house too.

Kara: The Inches-A-Weigh gyms completely SUCKED. There was hardly any equipment and you had to wait to get to use it cuz the gym was so small. I’d rather just join a normal gym.

Cassandra: So I just started Inches A Weigh last week. I’m not sure if I like it yet, the counselors are sort of preachy. I’m gonna give it a bit longer and see how it goes.

Liesl: I got sick of having to go to the Inches-A-Weigh center all the time…I really don’t need someone to be in my face as much as these people were. I like to do some stuff on my own.

Frannie55: The “behavior modification” lessons did not do a thing to alter my behaviors towards food, and I didn’t care for the approach. Complete waste of time.

Jessica: Inches-A-Weigh sucked for me, I did not loose weight, but did loose some money. I did get a refund however. Wish I would have found his site sooner though.

Geena: What I like about Inches-A-Weigh so far is that I feel like I am making some progress but I don’t feel pushed. I’ve never been too fast with anything so if I can only lift a few pounds or ride the bike for 5 minutes its okay. I am seeing gradual improvements in my strength. No weight loss yet but I imagine it will come it’s only been 3 weeks.

Kellie: i didn’t like all of the dumb “contests” that Inches-A-Weigh has..I don’t like competition i just want to do my own thing.

Ann: I have read baout this, and was thinking of trying it but Jillian Michaels sounds better. It’s all online, so no driving to a gym.

Tori: Um, let me get this straight I have to pay some to make me do exercise, no thanks.

cosmic1098: So how much does this program cost anyway. I don’t think I’d like Inches-A-Weigh but my mother might benefit from it, if it isn’t too much.

Jennine: Phase 1 was weekly weigh ins, which were a big pain in the butt. I ended up not having t he time for that. I never made it to Phase 2.

Hilda: THy promised me I’d be loosing somthing like 15 inches after 3 weeeks and that did NOT happend for me wiht InchesAWeihgt it was nothing even close to that. Thumbs def down.

Lisa: You all are lazy and poor, Inches a weigh is super awesome and works. If you are willing to pay for it and sweat.

Bethany: Contests? What kind of contests arre there, seems like an odd approach for weght loss. I’d hope that the prize is being able to cheat on the diet or somthing fun like that.

Barb: Inches-A-Weigh was just a chatty little ladies’ gossip club. I didnt get anything out of it as far as my weight. I didn’t really like the people either.

Cybil: I just cannot even stand the terminology they use in Inches A Weigh. A 3 phase “figure correction”?? Give me a break! It just feels demeaning.

liz: I don’t think there are any of these Inches-A-Weigh centers where i live. I’m in Cheyenne Wyoming. Does anybody know?

Lana: Well I had not exercised much in the last 15 years or so you can imagine that I was pretty out of shape. Inches A Weigh was a comforable enough setting to get me back into a routine. I thought it was fine, for my needs, at this age (68) but I would think that younger woman might prefer somthing more challenging.

Karen: I know Inches-A-Weigh brags about its “Spa Atmosphere” but I didn’t like that about it…when i am in a spa atmosphere i want to relax and get a massage, not work out and get weighed. It was confusing and unhelpful to me.

TC41: THis was a fake gym. I like regular gyms, people are more intense and that helps keep me motivated.

Connie: Hi does anyone know the correct way to use a medicine ball? I picked one up and didn’t know what to do wiht it. They’re pretty heavy! Anyway, I could use some good exercises, maybe they use them at inches aweigh? thanx

Marsha: Even though this is called “Inches-A-Weigh” it did not really help me get rid of the stubborn cellulite on my thighs. I was disaapointed.

Linda: Well now I don’t know about the rest of you, but whenever I get together with my girlfriends there’s always food involved. It’s just the way it is. I don’t see how I could be focused on weihgt loss when I know we’d all wind up going out to lunch together or soemthing after the class. That would be a mistake.

Renee: Glad I read the review here first.

Joan: I’m still waiting for a rep to call me back with more info on Inches A Weigh, I left my number 3 weeks ago.

Millie: Was not impressed with the program, no inches have gone away from me :(

Patty: Don’t do it, I joined the one in Allentown Pa and it is terrible, No real help here unless you are totally clueless on proper eating. JUst follow the USDA food pyramid and save yourself the money. I tried to quit but the owner is telling me the contract is unbreakable. Don’t get suckered in on all the crap they tell you . I joined a regular gym at the local hospital and in 3 wks. lost 7 lbs. and 6 in.

GLENYS: I GO TO AN INCHES A WEIGH HAVE LOST 46 LB AND LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT… THEY MOTIVATE ME TO GET RESULTS… LUBBOCK TX INCHES A WEIGH IS THE BEST

Beverly: I went in for a consultation today and they want $1225.00 and then another $111.00 a month for what they call a “success kit” which includes vitamins and protein bars. The center director was a little pushy for me to sign up today which was a turn-off but I thought it looked like a good program for women over 40. I like the combination of diet/exercise and will consider all options before commiting to this program.

Barbara: Thought I was getting a customized meal plan for my diabetes. Should have for the $1400 I dropped. Turns out other members have the exact same menue and they are not diabetic.

Barbara Stophel: I joined this program in April 07 at a cost of $1236. plus $157 for a month supply of vitamins & protein bars called ’success kit”. I later purchased a 6 months supply of the “success kit” at a cost of $661. Due to my work schedule I stopped going after 5 months but continued to pay my fees and did not get 3 months of my “success kit”. I sent a letter in Feb.08 not to renew because I read the contract and saw if you don’t cancel in writing you are automatically renewed at a fee of $60 per month for their “Family Forever” plan. Much to my surprise my bank account was drafted for the $60. I called and the local franchise called headquarters to see what could be done. I was told they would cancel now but could not do anything about the $60 because the local center did not have any record of receiving my letter. I told them this was not acceptable to me and wanted the number at headquarters. I was told they could not give out personal numbers. I said if this is a company why is that a personal number. I was simply referred to the website. Good luck finding anything there, no client contact numbers. As far as local franchise, hours were not the best, only open to noon on Saturday, center was rather cramped. No rest rooms or changing room, you have to go down the hall to a public restroom shared with the building. Meal plans are given for 4 weeks then you just repeat. My money would have been better spent elsewhere.

Ms. Judy Shelton: The Inches A Way Diet centers in the K.C. Area have closed, as of noon May 22, 2008, without contacting any of their clients, nor any note on the door. The coward owner has taken our money and our personal information, and run out on us. Please do not trust any of these Diet centers. They do not back their product.

Tina Bell: I was almost a success story with Inches A Weigh. But with the closing of the Independence Mo. center I will not endorse this weight loss center as I now will continue on my own exercise program. I will still win this battle. I’m not giving up. BUT— the way Roger Hochstetler ran this center to the ground and then skipped ship on all our remaining contracts, and kept taking money even on the day he closed with no notice to his clients or employees was low. No notice on the door either. I really cared about the clients, and tried to talk to CEO. They wanted me to put my house up for collateral, I was just wanting to help fullfill the remaining contracts on his dime beings it is his company’s name then start getting new clients and buy into this chain but corporate just wants your money THEY DO NO CARE ABOUT THEIR CLIENTS!!!!!!!!!!! This was a good program for the obese and those with little mobility but CEO does not care.

Pat: I just called the new center that has opened up in Raleigh NC. No information regarding cost – not even an estimate of cost would be given. They wanted me to go and have a free consultation. I am so glad I found this site before making an appointment. I have all my answers.

Melissa: Do not join this program. The staff is uneducated and incapable of customizing a diet for you especially if you have medical restrictions. It cost me too much money to find this out the hard way.

Valerie: I am writing about Inches -a- weight at Natick, ma. It is very shady business. Nobody knows what they are doing, very unprofessional. Refused return unused portion of the membership. Very bed idea to go at this gym.Owners making deals, nobody knows what the price is

Maureen: I am writing about Inches-A-Weigh Naples FL – I have got to say it has been one of the most positive things I could do for myself – Linda the Owner (she is not a franchised)- maybe that’s the difference – I’ve been a member for 7 weeks now – I have lost 17lbs and over 20 inches – I feel great, the staff is so supportive, helpful in every aspect – its too bad that the negative comments on here destroys the Name, I really think it has to do with the Owner – in fact when it came to the financial end of it, Linda was willing to work things out – her passion is working with women who have a problem with weight – her goal is to help you learn life style change – Again, Naples Fl – Best place I have found to fight off old habits and a unactive lifestyle – again it is older clients, but we have fun!

Melissa: I’m working with Inches-A-Weigh in Lafayette, LA. It’s very new, however, I’ve had a great time so far. I’m working with Juanita and not only did she work out the financial side of it but she really wanted to know how I got to this point and she was truly a ‘counselor’. It helped me to have her point out a few things that I hadn’t realized before. We all know ‘how’ to eat right but we don’t or we wouldn’t be in this position. My dad died my first week and I was distraught and REALLY wanted to eat. I called Juanita and she was there for me!!!! She reminded me of why I’m doing this and why I want a better body. I believe in this program so much that I want to help her by building a website…we’re at Inches-A-Weigh.club.officelive.com . I’m sure there will be a better domain name soon but I have to say that the success of the program is not only YOUR responsibility but the OWNER’s….it’s all about passion people. I know Juanita with IAW–Lafayette, LA is here for Acadiana women. Good luck!!!

L.M.: Hi I also was a victim of the unscrupulous Inches Away Owners (who just disappeared) in KC, i was shocked to discover that they;d closed the place without any explanation at all. I’ve noticed a pattern in many of the positive posts here: those of you who rave about INches A Weigh seem to be talking mostly about the “New Centers” that just opened. I think maybe this company likes opening new centers, getting all the money they can, and moving on. Just like a bogus traveling preacher or something. NO matter where i move in the future, no matter how new or exciting the INches A Weigh center might seem, i wouldn’t join if it was the last weight loss center on earth!

A.C.: For me Inches a Weigh has worked overall, even though I do not follow the diet plan exactly. With any weight loss program, it is up to you to decide how it will work for you. I was skeptical at first, but, realistically, I knew what I needed to do to lose weight. It is ironic that most of the blogs that received positive results were the ones that involved taking some type of diet pills. What I noticed most is that many of the women skip the cardio, but then they wonder why they are not losing the weight. I really believe that you need a good balance with the machines and the cardio to see the results. It will work for you if you put your mind to it.

LaShantea: Fake gym, fake menues, fake people, fake results! The only thing that is real is the money they will take from you!

TRACY: I was not impressed with inches a weigh at all. I felt the lifestyle managers did not spend the time I needed. It was like they would talk to me in less than 6 minutes and my time was over. I paid alot of money for this program! The area with all the machines was just a place for woman to talk about everything else except weight loss, that also the included the lifestyle counselor. Sometimes there would be no supervision on the exercise floor- a complete no-no! The center I went to they just looked very disorganized and everyday things would change. They need to get their act together, I foresee a lot more biting the dusk! I would not recommend this program to anyone.

Sue: Thank you for all the comments that are posted here. I am sure that it has saved me a lot of money. I too visited an Inches-a-weigh. The girl was very nice but was not able to answer all my questions. She told me the price was only good for that day and that I would be losing out on the savings if I did not give her my credit card right then and there, Something about the way she was saying it made me skeptical. Also she was overweight herself and told me she had been in business for two years. Boy am I glad I did not join after doing my homework on this site.

rhonda: Well this is going to sound familiar. I too was a victim of the Inches A Weigh in San Mateao, Ca. The owner seemed nice enough. I believe she had trouble getting the company support she needed. She wanted to do a good thing, she just couldn’t stay open. I lost my money and I am not sure what to do about my weight issues. At least I am not bankrupt. Its the people that sell these franchises we should all be mad at.

teresa metz: i started at inches a weigh in florence ky march of 2008 and i have lost 43 pounds and 40 inches all together true the center does need more workout equiptment but when you have not worked out in years and you are out of shape it is a good program to get you back on your feet i only have 40 more pounds to go and i will have lost all the weight i set fourt to loose and it is true that there are no nuyrionist or weight lose instuctors there i have ame to figure out get the same person to weigh you in and review your diet and excerise progress each week and you will see results.

lzy: I joined inches a weigh in Florence Ky. At first they were very helpful and seemed to care. Then the turnover started. The one person who actually cared and was involved with us, Robin, up and left, then the other who was very involved got moved to the “new facility”, Eric left, then Katy. It’s been a real roller coaster. The owner Donna was there in the beginning but now we never see her. She opened another center in Cincinnati and removed some of our equipment which was very unfair to us. Now we must wait for the eliptical and the new step and for those of us who did use Nautilus…it all disappeared to her new center. There are a bunch of us that feel this way. We are not getting what we paid for. I weight in weekly and have not been measured since March. Prior to the turn over…Robin and Pam always worked with us and made sure we were measured. I will not renew my contract when it is up. It’s ashame that something that started out so good turned sour really fast. I learned more about nutrition from weight watchers than they have taught. And the new help ….they know nothing! Be very cautious before joining one of these centers. With the protein and their vitamins, plus monthly fees you can expect to pay in the neighborhood of $250.00 per month.

c-k: hi izy i am a victim of inches a weigh in florence ky. when i first started there about 7 months ago. ericka was there and so was robin boy things sure has went down hill fast .i am like you i will not be renewing my contract either. you got the girls on the floor that ant nothing but button pusher. cant instruct you on how to excerise or eat. how to you get a job in a weight loss place and not know nothing about nutrition or excerise. and try to teach paying coustomers how to change there life style. it is a joke the workers on the floor are to busy talking. to turn your tables and chairs on. you you could wait anywhere from 3 to 4 minutes before they turn you on .because personal attention and coustomer services is a thing in the past and a joke.

Rashonda: I joined Inches a weigh because I was not comfortable going to a real gym at my size. I paid up front and got some free weeks. I also dropped a bundle of money on protein bars and shakes. The center I go to seems to be in financial trouble. First they let go of the one person who knew anything at all about exercise and weight loss, then, they can never keep any of the good flavors of the bars that I like. There are rumors that our center is going to close and people are already talking of a lawsuit. What happens if they do go under? Is there any way at all to get my money back? Especially for those protein bars that I prepaid for?

Marlene Williams: Inches-A-Weigh Marlene Williams Something was missing. On a medically supervised liquid diet developed for diabetics, I had lost 135 pounds in eleven months. With 50 pounds to go, I began gaining! The others exercised. But I had too much pain from arthritis, herniated disks and other problems. Uncoordinated and totally out of condition, I needed to get moving or I was going to ruin all my weight loss efforts. I prayed for God

Dawn: The Inches A Weigh program was not effective for me for weight loss; like others said, the staff was, not rude, but inattentive, and I was not very well supported. I have not gone back in a couple of weeks because I jsut don’t like the atmosphere and will probably quit, unless my center closes first. Way too expensive and I really doubt I’ll be seeing any money back from this.

Dawn M: I go to the location in Kenner La. The ladies who work there are very nice and informative. I ahve been very successful. You ladies who have not been successful have no one to blame but yourself. You are lazy. This is the easiest way to lose weight. Blame no one but the person who stares back at you in the mirror. If you don’t follow any lower calorie plan or excercize, NO PLAN will work. YOU ARE THE ONE TO BLAME!!!

Ingrid: I started out strong with Inches A Weigh and really liekd the program because it covers nutrition, strenght training and cardiovascular health. I felt like I had all my bases covered. However after 3 months of the program I reached a plateau and no one is able to help me lose the last 18 lbs I need to reach my goal. For 7 months I have been working hard and not losing. I am ready to try something new.

Candace: I am amazed at how easy this program is IF YOU EAT RIGHT AND EXERCISE! I wish weight loss was a simple process, but it’s not. However, my IAW counselors have made it as user-friendly as it gets! I have a new, healthier outlook on a much longer and leaner life now. My Newnan, Georgia center is the greatest thing I have ever given myself and my family loves the “New Me”. My director worked with my finances for over an hour making it fit into my budget. Get to your closest one now and get fit for life!

linda: Geez, Candace, you sound a little bit like a commercial. My experience was very different. They “turnover” and the inattentiveness, and the eventual “cut-and-run” abandonment of my center which closed down. I thought this was a very inconsistent program, which is worse than bad, actually, because you never KNOW what your going to get.

Hilda: I thought the concept of diet and exercise together was a great idea. The novelty wore off when I hit a plateau and nobody there could help me. The exercise got boring. You are limited to what you can do on those tables. I have a treadmill at home that was already paid for. If I could just quit eating sweets I will be fine. I didn’t need to spend over $1000 to figure that out on my own.

Kim: The people at Inches a weigh do not know what they are doing. They do not know anything about how to help you lose weight. I joined and I told the girl i had tried every diet out there. She told me this would be different and that they would help me. Well, that girl no longer works there. The girls that are left are all fat. How can they help me? There is no one in the gym when I go, its depressing and not very motivating. I’m not sure what happened to the other members but if your not losing weight why go? I will not renew my membership when it is up and I will not tell any of my friends to join.

c-k: kim you got that right and they are all fat.did you know they get free protein and membership. so why go around looking like a whale they not just fat. these girls are big big big .you would think for all the money we have paid out. at least we could have a excerise instructor and a nutrionist in the building. i will be so glad when my contract time is up.i dont know about your center and were you go but in my center. there is one that combs her hair and puts on makeup all day instead of takeing care of the coustmer,s needs .and lets not forget she dances all over the floor and leaves people laying on the tables for longer then they should be .this place in florence ky is just a mess. needs to have a total over haul starting with the girls that work the floor.

Brenda: I’m sorry that so many people have had negative experiences. I joined Inches-A-Weigh in Longview, TX 6 weeks ago and have lost 12 pounds and 21 inches. From the beginning I have been impressed with the total program: meal plans, nutritional supplements, protein supplements, toning tables, cardio equipment, and personal encouragement. The weekly weigh-in is done in private, and any counseling/ recommendations are confidential. I have met customers who have lost 38, 48, 83, and 90 pounds. I know that I will not loose weight quickly because I did not put it on quickly, and my busy lifestyle does not permit me to stick strictly to the meal plans. However, having a place to workout and get encouragement every time I go, is a great help to me. The owners understand the many issues that contribute to a woman’s self-esteem and her ability to control weight. Even if I did not loose weight, the workout equipment has already helped me feel so much better and more flexible. Considering all the health risks I face in years to come, I am saving money! Through this program, I am changing my lifestyle and improving my health. The bonuses are loosing weight, feeling better, and looking better. Of course, it is not what everyone is looking for, but it sure is working for me. I highly recommend Inches-A-Weigh!

Alannah: I totally agree with KIm and C-K! I had the same experinece at my center….overweight women who seem apathetic and not even interested in me. I have to drive 25 minutes to get to my center, and i really don’t need to use that much time and gas to try to workout around some VERY big employees who cld care less about me. The one where i live talks on the phone constantly, she looks up and sees me and then she just keeps talking. its really shameful actually, the level of customer service. I am just biding my time until my contract lapses. obviously the quality of INches-A-Weigh varies based on the center. Maybe some of them are good, i can only discuss my own experience, and it has been horrible.

Olivia: I totally agree with alot of you about them not be professional. In the center I used to go to, they would weigh people in the same office that a sales consultation was going on, or even another weigh in, thats not right at all. That is a personal thing! Also sometimes again when that one office was being used for a consultation (they only had one room) they would actually measure a client right in the front office, where everyone could see. That is bad business! Needless to say I was not impressed with anything they did, so I no longer go there. Be very cautious about this outfit. I really think they will not be around for a long time.

LaLa: It’s unfair how Inches-A-Weigh as a whole is getting all this negativity. There are different staff members in every center, and it’s too bad some centers who are doing wonderful are impacted by all this negativity. The Inches-A-Weigh center in Orange Park, FL is wonderful. The staff is incredibly caring and supportive. They are very professional and friendly with all of the members. I have completely changed my eating habits and exercise much more, I’ve lost over 30 lbs and 25 inches in such a short amount of time. If you really want to know how this program works, go to the center close to you and talk to not only the staff there, but any members you see there and get their feedback and experience with the program.

Chrissy: well many of the Inches A Weigh Centers seem to have a strategy: they open up the centers, are super-nice in the beginning, and once they get a good solid membership, they back off and stop caring…I really think that they actually have their “A-team” who they use to go open the centers, and then once the center is up and running, these people leave and go open the next center. That was my experience at my center (Florence, KY). I do wonder, for you ladies who are raving about your centers, how long they have been in existence. You may be in for a disappointment soon.

Danita: the IAW, i joined in Independence Mo, shut its doors in May and never reopened, I paid for a full year and never received anything from anyone associated formerly with that company , I lost 40# and 56 inches, but was sick of all the vitamins, ect required to be bought there.

Dee: I love inches-A-Weigh. The nutrition is straight forward off the food pyramid. The counselors are very helpful with keeping us accountable with weekly weigh-ins and journals. I have went from a size 14 to a size 8. The exercise is very easy and nothing like I have ever used. I cannot go to regular gyms so the toning equipment is wonderful. The cardio is the same you find anywhere else. The difference is someone is there to show me how to use it and makes sure I am progressing at a safe rate. There are alot of deadbeats that come to the center and complain that the program doesn’t work for them. THey are the same clients that refuse to weigh in and don’t follow the nutritional eating plan. They bring all their negativity to the center and wonder why they are so miserable. This program works ladies. I get bored too. But I will never give up. The counselors can only do so much, the rest is up to you. I am sorry for the centers that closed. I have a good impression that this is a very difficult business to be in because of the clientelle.

alison: Dee, i am just really surprised at how inclined you are to cast aspersions and blame at anyone who may not have found success on Inches A Weigh. Just think about the language you use..I am not a “deadbeat” in fact, I am a hard working single mother with a full time job and a supplemental part time job as well. I don’t always have time to go to a weight loss center to weigh in and be counseled. I think its important to remember that not everyone is the same, people have very different experiences from ourselves, and we should not judge. Now, my center, which was one of those in the Kentucky area that shut down, was dingy, lacking in good equipment, and lacking in compassionate guidance. I suppose this is also my fault? It is just shocking to me that you would blame the deterioration and shutdown of these shady centers on the WOMEN who pay for their help, not on the centers themselves!

Jose: I am 60 years old and love the inches-a-weigh center in Crestview Hills, Ky. The equipment they have is wonderful. The place in beautiful. The staff works very hard to help me. I am sad that some feel the other locations are not as helpful. If you like going to a regular gym, I don’t think you would like this concept. It is very gentle and the staff teaches a very gentle approach. The nutrition is very basic. No pitches or drugs. I think the other clients love it too.

Stacee: Well, that’s great Jose that you’ve found a decent Inches A Weigh Center, but i think the majority of them, are not very “gentle” or even helpful. They seemed almost totally indifferent to me or whether i was reaping any benefits. It was really a waste of my time and money. Now I’m onto a new thing which some of you might find interesting/fun…its this thing called http://www.theDietAwards.com where you get $1,000 if you lose weight. All you have to do is send a before and after pic of yourself and you get paid for using products to loose weight! i am psyched and i’ve already lost 19 lbs in 2 mos. which is more than i lost in 6 months of Inches A Weigh.

ann marie: i go to an inches a weigh and couldn’t be happier, all the women i have met there are great, the service is wonderful, i have regained my strength and flexibility and lost 10lbs in 2 months,i am not really looking to lose much weight, only need to lose 15 lbs my doctor told me “whatever it is you are doing keep doing it” my blood tests have never looked so good, i am off my blood pressure pills, that alone is worth the cost of the program,

catherine: well, to say “I’ve found a good Inches A Weigh center” is almost like saying “I’ve found a great guy.” There are a lot of guys out there, and a lot of them suck. A good one is rare. Same for Inches A Weigh. My center was like what many of you describe…useless exercise equipment in a less than sanitary environment, apathetic ‘counselors,” and low quality nutritional advice. it is a crap-shoot, and it shouldn’t be. A franchise should have a consistent standard of quality that ALL centers live up to, or else the name is worthless. I’m doing the South Beach Diet now, and that is a program that lives up to its name.

c-k: well jose.come to the one in florence ky. and tell me how great it is. your center has a nurse and a yoga instructor. and we have a person that stands and puts makeup on all day and dances all over the place. sure there is nothing wrong with haveing fun at work. but when you leave you coustomes on the tables for 6-8 minutes at a time. while you dance is just unprofessional.the center in florence has nobody. they expect there coustomers to stand by and take what they shouve down there neck. no excerise instructors no one to talk to about your nutrition .i am so sick of that place and when my contract is up i am defenitley not going back. and the other girl on the floor is big and heavy. no support in the florence center the only good person we had which is pam.c. got took away because some one did not like her. now how fare is that to us that jose. that pay out lots of money to be monitored by a nurse and a nutritionist.there is lots of people there that is mad because we have no one for us.just a dances and a makeup artist and a heavy young girl that knows nothing about food and nutrition.so jose how would you like if that weighed you in on mondays. and tell you how to eat or what to eat. oh yeah lets not forget about the measureing that is a joke. ILL BE SO GLAD WHEN I AM DONE DONE DONE

Shay: I am a larger lady so when I saw what Inches a weigh had to offer I felt like I found a program that was going to work for me. I paid for my plan up front so I would get the extra time I need to lose my weight. I met with a counselor and she gave me my first menue and an exchange list. I did not understand all the things she told me that day but she said when i came in for my counseling sessions she would help me. I came in for my first weigh in and noticed that the other people that were weighing in got new menues. Well when it was my turn to weigh in, it turned out I actually gained weight! I followed the menue exactly. The counselor told me I must have done something wrong and to keep trying. When I asked her for my new menue, she said there wasn’t one for me and she had other people waiting to be weighed in. Close to tears, I requested to speak with the owner. She had to leave because of her kids. I told the girl at the front desk I wanted my money back. She said I would have to speak to the owner. The owner won’t return my phone calls. I will contact the better business bureau. I have never felt like I got ripped off this bad before.

Marisol: The Inches a weigh in my state is in big trouble. When I joined you had to sign up for a certain amount of weeks based on how much weight you wanted to lose. Well 3 weeks after I did just that they have new prices. Now you can pay by how many sessions you want. I know because my friend got 9 sessions for $120. Now call me crazy, but when a business that says it takes a whole year to change your habits, and is based around a lifestyle change, then slashes its prices like this – there going down. Thats just business 101. Oh yeah, and their diet sucks.

Cheryl: I have nothing but good things to say about “Inches”. Maybe the one here is different than some others but, the people are great, the dietician help is very informative, the equipment, both cardio and isometric, make for a good workout. Our’s is a very active site, ages from teenagers to eighty year olds – all having good results. The staff are very good at helping set each individuals exercise goals and the suggested menus are very doable. Everytime I go I find the place full of happy clients and helpful staff. The scale is steadily going down and inches falling off, I feel like a new woman is emerging. Maybe we are just blessed with a super manager/staff here in Montana.

tina: When I read about how Inches A Weigh does not employ “young hardbodies” to make us overweight ladies feel bad, i thought it sounded perfect for me. What i didn’t realize is that a person does not have to be young and fit in order to treat you badly. The overweight women at my center are rude, apathetic, and self involved. They don’t care about the clients or what we are going through,. whether we need help or guidance. It’s not good enough to just hire a fat woman and think your job is done – - i want to be part of a weight loss program where the employees are compassionate, knowledgable, and helpful. INches A Weigh is NOT that program!

Susie: Like so many others I was suckered in, there are no trained experiencec trainers working at the place, nor is there a Spa atmospher. There were some have young girls who appear to have just graduated from high school. THey are also busy trying to push their products. I have back problems, but they didnot try to work a program for me that would not aggravated the problem. After contract ended, I did do the monthly thing for a while then informed them that I no longer wanted a membership because I could not make it to the site. I was told they would need a 30 day notice which they got and I was also told that after giving the notice, they would still deduct for the next month. HOwever in checking my bank account I found they were still taking money 2 months later. I made 3 trips to the site and never could speak with the owner. No one had the common decency to pick up the phone to say they were working on why the nonies were being taken out or anything. I left my office number and they also had my phone number at home. The owner still would not call me, I then made another call myself and was told the owner said she would send me a check. I received the check but she still owes me money and I am not cashing the check. I will be writing a letter to the better business bureau and to the corporste office. THey have very poor business ethics which makes one wonder about the honesty of the owners. I most definitely would not recommend them to anyone. And they didnot help me at all!!!

Ginny: “Inches” reminds me of the old Elaine Powers figure salon that my Mom belonged to. I’m not sure what they are trying to pull off. I went to the one near me and I was interested in their diet. The girl would not show me what the diet was like but she sure wanted me to give her my credit card. I am very glad I did not join after reading all these comments. Sounds like a type of “Curves” only with menues for losing weight. I just was not about to spend all that money if I couln’t even see what I was paying for.

Dot: I joined Inches A Weigh, not to lose weight, but for the use of the tables. I have some major issues with my back and the owner told me the tables would be good for my back. I paid for a whole year upfront, tried the tables for the a couple of classes, and eperienced an increase in my pain level. After consulting with my MD, he said to discontinue the exercise.I told the receptionist that I could not participate anymore due to medical reasons. She said she would tell the owner and I would get a refund of mu unused time. That was 6 weeks ago. I just hope they don’t close before the owner ever gets back to me.

Lisa: This place is UNREAL! I canceled my membership w/in 2 days (as stated in the contract) and did all that I was suppose to do (w/in the thime stated) and it has been almost 6 months now, they have been through 4 people in charge and they REFUSE to return my deposit of $200!!!!!! I am legally handicapped and thought that this type of gym would be easier for me, and it was not. As a matter of fact it caused me great pain the day I left. After 2 months of fighting w/ the supervisor, I was asked to give them a Dr’s letter- which I did IMMEDIATELY! Again today, I get told (by the new supervisor, which I just spoke to the other one yesterday and she is already gone) that they REFUSE to give me my money back! The cost of this place is CRAZY! They are NOTHING but SCAM artist praying on over weight people and people who want to help themselves get/stay healthy!! PLEASE, PLEASE- tell everyone you know to STAY AWAY! PLEASE help out and feel free to call the ‘owner’ Rebecca and tell them that they have been unfair to someone who is out of work, has no money and is disabled!! Thank you for your support!

deanne: i also tried to cancel my program within the 3 days as noted on the contract, i was reimbursed the full amount of my down payment within 10 days to my credit card no hassle, these people were very understanding an caring

leah: huh, well your lucky deanne, that your Inches-A-Weigh center was nice about giving your money back. Mine still has my deposit after the center closed up & split town unexpectedly. I seriously doubt i am going to see this money ever again.

debbie: I am a member of the florence inches a way I love it I have lost over 50 lbs. I love the staff and they do work with you. very helpful I have been in there when Donna gives personal care to the members Pleace come check out the florence inches a way it is great allways clean and at least two workers there or more there is long time members there and if you want to lose the weight and get toned it comes down to you. no one can do it for you. and the weight did not go on overnight give it a try and work with the workers not aganist them. I like the members and the staff. Pat your self on the back your doing a good job florence.

gwen: well, geez, Debbie, I would happily check out the Florence, Ky. Inches A Weight, if only i didn’t live in Kansas City, Missouri. That would be a bit of a trek, regardless of how great, friendly and clean that 1 center happens to be. Living in Kansas City, I went to the Inches A Weigh in Independence (Mo.). That center was hardly what you are describing. It was dingy, the employees were apathetic and incompetent, and then the center closed up shop and abandoned us all. Its great that there are 1 or 2 of these centers that are good, but there is no consistency to it. You can’t walk into an Inches A weigh and be CONFIDENT that you will get quality. That’s why i’m now doing an entirely online program, Jillian MIchaels it got good reviews on this site. I know I am getting quality, because i am going right to the source. I’ve even emailed with Jillian herself! Anyway, i’m doing great, lost 19 lbs so far, and am almost halfway to my goal. I won’t be bothering with the hit-or-miss world of INches A Weigh any more!

debbie: gwen good luck and if you are in the florence ky area come check us out. good luck

Tammy: I went to an inches aweigh and I decided not to join because I felt the staff did not know what they were doing. For the same amount of money they wanted, I got a personal trainer and a nutritionist. My trainer always keeps the workout fresh and exciting. He caters the exercises to my individual needs and I am making progress in my strength, endurance, flexibility and muscle tone that I never got when I was a member of Curves. He goes by my bodycomposition and I have lost 12 pounds of body fat and actually gained 3 pounds of muscle so my entire body shape is changing. My nutritionist has customized a program for me that takes into account my food preferences, my lifestyle and my current health status. My plan is adapted as my body changes. I have never felt better. Please people, do your research before you make such a significant purchase like this. I decided that I am worth the money -I just didn’t spend it at inches aweigh.

DONNA JOHNSON: I JOINED IAW JUST 1 WEEK AGO IN MASON. IT IS RUN BY A NUTRITIONIST, NANCY, AND I LOVE IT. SHE MAKES OUT THE MENUE AND THE GROCERY LIST. I AM ON 1200 CALORIES A DAY WITH 3 MEALS AND 3 SNACKS. THE MACHINES ARE AWESOME. YOU DON’T EVEN FEEL LIKE YOU ARE EXCERCISING, WHICH I HATE. IT IS LIKE A MASSAGE. BEFORE I JOINED I TALKED TO THE WOMEN THAT WERE COMING AND GOING AND ALSO THE ONES ON THE EXCERCISE BEDS. THEY ALL SAID THE SAME THING. IT DEFINETLY WORKS|||| SOME OF THEM HAVE LOST 1 SIZE IN JUST 3 WEEKS. I HEAR RESULTS LIKE THIS EVERY TIME I GO IN AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN WEIGHED FOR THE 2ND TIME YET-THAT WILL COME ON MONDAY-BUT I HAVE HAD FAMILY AND MY WORK ASSOCIATES COMMENT ON MY WEIGHT LOSS. I AM SO GLAD I FOUND IAW. MY HUSBAND IS TOO. I HAVE TRIED EVERY WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM OUT THERE AND NEVER STICK IT OUT. THIS PLACE IS SO RELAXING THAT I LOOK FORWARD TO GOING EVERY DAY. ONLY 1 HOUR-THAT’S ALL. I LOVE IT.

debbie: I have tried everyting and Inches-A-weigh is working for me. You have to try something that will work for you and stick to it.

laura: hmm. WEll, Donna, i think it’s great that you’re seeing results with YOUR local Inches A Weigh (mine was one of those that was terrible, then closed without warning)…but it sounds like you’re doing one of those diets where you are strictly structured and told what to do. You have this woman making your menus and grocery lists, so you’re not making responsible food choices…the exercise, you claim, feels like “a massage” (Real exercise tends to feel like exercise, not a massage). I just can’t help but wonder what you will do when Nancy is not telling you what to eat and you have to exercise on your own. Will you have the discipline and skills necessary? I’m not saying anything against you, I am just wondering how well Inches A Weigh prepares dieters for LONG TERM SUCCESS. The fact that my center picked up and left town told me a lot about their “long term” integrity.

c-k: well debbie i also go to the one in (florence ky).i dont know why you are giveing this center all the credit. you know as well as i do they leave you on the tables to long and dont help you. so i dont know why you are on here bragging about a place that dont care for you .or anybody else. i guess you like going were there are no nutritionest or excerise instructor. and the girls on the floor dont know nothing. i have heard you complain personley so why are you defending a place that dont care for you. i guess some people will take anything people shove down there throats .i know that they are a lady who brings her mom in a wheel chair. and has been comming for 18 months and they quit. and they were ask why and the daughter said her mother has got weeker. has not help her strenght at all.now how is that working for you debbie.

debbie: yes I have compained but you cant make everyone happy all the time. and if you no me you no that I come there stright from work and I am tired. I have tried all kinds of diets and complain about them we are all women and we all do it But this is working for me and the girls have helped me and if I am left on a table to long I am sure it wont hurt me. and I do feel that the staff cares about me and you and the members that are there. I like the place and the members and staff get me on a bad day I just might complain about anything but I no when something is working. As you no I pass the other inches a way to come to florence because I like the people there. I dont no about the mother and daughter but it might not have anything to do with inches a way it could be her health is just getting worse. My husband went to therpy three times a week for a year and he got worse but it was it the doctors fault or his therpy it was his body and there was nothing any one could do. so sometime its not a place or a person. I dont want this site to stop any one from going to inches a way because if you need the extra help or the tables or chairs. Just come and try it out and see for your self. I want to thank everyone at Florence because I could of not done it with out all of your support.

sharon: Well, I was fine with my Inches A Weigh Center (San Mateo) but the progress was kind of slow. Then it closed and I was worried my progress would come to a halt. I was freaked. I decided to just go for regular walks and try the South Beach Diet instead…and you know what? I’m loving it. I’ve lost 27 lbs in just 4 mos. and i feel great. It was a blessing in disguise that my center closed.

c-k: well debbie i dont know you on a personaly basic. i have over heard you tell nancy that a few times.i dont know why some want addmit it that it is not a good place. you have complained about no nutritions and no one in the center to help you out.but i guess some people likes to be taken for a ride but not me.

laura ramos: I am bipolar. They lied to me about the way the plan worked, and when I tried to get a refund they wouldn’t refund the money. In my opinion they try to take advantage of peoples weaknesses. But I am only one person, and bipolar to boot. So I am taken to be crazy.

debbie: I no when something is working. and I will be a member for the rest of my life.

lindsey: Debbie: are you employed by Florence, Kentucky Inches A Weigh Center? Just trying to get to the bottom of this. Thanks, your cooperation is appreciated.

gigi: Inches A Weigh might be good at some locations, but I am concerned with consistency. Doesn’t seem very consistent. how do you think mcdonald’s got to be so popular? By providing a consistent level of quality at each franchise (i am NOT saying McD’s is good, just..consistent). I think there’s a reason this chain has not taken off, and that reason is you can’t be sure that the center you go to will be one of the good ones.

debbie: No I am a member of Inches A Weigh. and enjoy going out there.

Kirsten In Montana: I started at IAW two weeks ago. I am 21 years old and just wanted to get rid of some excess weight that I had put on since high school sports were a thing of the past. I have already lost 7 pounds and love it! We must be really lucky to have the staff we have here in Montana! This is the best thing I have done for myself in a lond time…and it’s already showing. I love going to inches a weigh!

nan: I don’t no what the problem is if you don’t like it don’t go ck stop worrying about every one else and stay home.

Madeline: THE SAN MATEO INCHES A WEIGH CENTER WAS TERRIBLE! APATHETIC, RUDE AND UNINFORMATIVE WERE THE WORDS I WOULD USE TO DESCRIBE THE PEOPLE THERE. I WAS ACTUALLY KIND OF HAPPY WHEN THE PLACE SHUT DOWN. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

alison: WEll, the thing that most concerns me about Inches A weigh is is that the centers all sound so different. Some seem great, with great counselors, and others – the exact opposite. I think I’m going to try a program that provides results you know you can count on. i’m thinking maybe weight watchers or South beach.

maya: Nan: i noticed that you spell the word “know” as “no,” just as the frequent poster named “debbie” tends to do. This is a rather uncommon spelling anomaly, and i’m noticing that your speech patterns seem quite similar. I am beginning to suspect that this blog has become compromised by covert postings on the part of Inches A Weigh Employees. If so, please stop. We’re not stupid – if you continue with this, we will “no.”

debbie: debbie is my real name and the only name I use. I am not a employee and this is the last I will be on here this is not what this site is for. Life is to short. I just wonder how many of you are ex employees. And if all you have to do is worry about someones spelling you must have a really good life. take care and I hope everyone finds a program that works for them. And if you are in the Florence Ky area just stop in and check the Inches A Way out.

yougogirl: well the one in Charlotte, NC closed too. They blamed the economy. The other members and myself that were deceived by the management know better. An owner and staff that didn’t know what they were doing nor did they care. Inches A Weigh is nothing more that a bunch of “wanna be’s”.

c-k: well nan for one you dont own inches a weigh and you dont pay my note there until you pay my note keep your mouth off me .

c-k: no dont stop in in the florence store it is just about usless dont let debbie tell anyone on here no diffrent she herself has complained about it but i guess she is two faced talked about the girls behind there back and not there face i my self say what i think no matter were i am the employes no nothing about weight loss and all it is ia a money gemic take your money and the heck with you.

Lori: I went to the one in Charlotte too. I paid for it up front and spent alot of money for a place I just got bored of. The diet was too hard to follow, and the equipment wasn’t challenging enough. The last time I went, there was hardly anyone else exercising. I just let my time run out and now turns out they closed. My husband and I joined the “Y” For a lot less money, we get tons more services, classes, childcare, equipment, and a pool.

joanne C.: about 3 months ago, I was at Belterra Casino near florence KY and they had a give away for Inches A Weigh and I got one of the trials. I was really excited to win somthing and especially because I had lost a lot of cash that night on those stupids machines. I though it was a sign for me to stop gambling and get into shape instead so I tried for 2 weeks before giving up. Inches-a-Weigh is not the kind of place for people like me who need to loose serious weight, I agree with what others said about it the place. not recommended even if given for free.

Ann: Used to go to the Inches A weigh and stopped this month. DId not care for the people or the program, was not very supported in my weight loss efforts. Might gonna look for a online diet plan now so I don’t have to deal with people.

jamie: LOVE IT- I lost 105 lbs and learned to eat right! WOrks if YOU ARE MOTIVATED AND REALLY WANT TO LOSE THE FAT

karen: i did not care for INches A Weigh, the attitude was rather apathetic among the counselors and the center itself was not impressive. i didn’t care for the workout equipement and i felt that the guidance was minimal.

Sharon: Inches a Weigh needs to go a way. They don’t care how you feel struggling with weight issues all your life, once they have your money. This program and the staff do not deliver. I have learned from my mistake and found a healthy way to eat and exercise that I can do forever, and it is getting me the kind of results I want. It is slow, but I am told the longer it takes to lose the weight, the more permanent it will be. I am glad the Inches a Weigh centers are closing. That way they wont take advantage of anybody else.

debbie: inches a weigh is for me, i have really great people helping me, there is no magic pill when it comes to losing weight, you have to put in a little effort, were else can you have fun losing weight?/??????

Kat: Are you the same debbie that has posted multiple times? Sorry but that seems a little suspect to me…

Janice: Haha, I totally agree with Sharon! Inches A Weigh is not a supportive program, I did not care for the people at my center. I put in the effort and am not expecting magic. However, if I am paying for a service, I expect to RECEIVE that service. This didnt do it.

c-k: inches a weigh ..is just a money taker and a gossip house. ant for there clients at all. i am so glad my time is allmost up. then i will be able to walk away hands free from that place and all the gossip.

Lynn: I can’t wait until I stop paying for the Florence location. I have had it, they are unsupportive and when you are honest with them, they turn against you even more. I am counting down my days there. They need to get some REAL people in there working who know what they are doing, not makeup artists and kids off the street.

FYB: Ok! Listen up girls! I don’t know who any of you all are or do I care. The only thing I am going to say is stop your bitching. CK learn to spell and get your fat butt off the tables yourself, unless your so fat that you can’t get up or you can’t see your feet you can surly lift up off the tables yourself. If you do not like Inches-A-Weigh then stop going, and don’t bitch about paying for it I don’t pay for your “note” but I can tell you one thing SHUT THE HECK UP, you dumb bitch! If people are taking advantage of you don’t take it just simply walk away, unless you are too fat to walk, then I would highly suggest you shut the hell up and give the staff a chance. Not every girl is fat and the way you sound on here you have no room to talk. Please do everyone a favor eat a twinkie and shut up! As for you Florence girls YOU ROCK! —–FYB

Cher: Ouch! If I had to deal with people like “FYB” at a an Inches A Weigh location, then I definitely would have no interest in the program! My goodness, you are downright abusive! I am seeking a supportive program to reach my weight loss goals, with that last comment, I can now understand all the previous complaints. How rude!

Kelly: Hey, FYB….I wouldn’t be throwing stones about spelling errors until you get a grasp on the spelling of “surely.” Your spelling — “surly” — denotes an entirely different word, the definition of which is ” churlishly rude or bad-tempered.”Hmm, I’d say that perfectly characterizes you. S do you really wanna play, FYB? Because I’d say you’re in way over your head.

Anonymous: I recently joined inches a weight. I am 22 y/o and only had like 50 pounds to lose to be at a healthy weight. I did look into the website and I went in for a visit. I orginally called to figure out hours and prices but they wouldn’t give me an estimate over the phone. I feel that the program has a good and healthy concept but is way too expensive for me my total cost is like $1500. I struggle with the dieting aspect of the program, they emphasis everytime I go in for my weekly weigh in that my meal plans are specially design for me by a dietician, however I have never met or talked to this person (probably a computer program). I guess my only problems with Inches A Weight is the price (too much money), lack of exercise equipment, hours (8am-8pm M-F & 8a-1p on Sat. not open on Sundays,), the age of clients (majority of clients are moms, or women 28 and above)I will see if I lose my 50 pounds and I will repost but right now I am giving it a thumbs down.

claire: owners of inches-a-weigh are a bunch of liars

claire: chalotte inches-a-weigh owners are con artists

Angela: Inches-A-Weigh is a fabulous program and if you follow the menu plan and exercise you will get RESULTS. The people complaining are LAZY and will most likely be OVERWEIGHT their entire life because they don’t want to take any responsibility that they have failed another program.

dee: Yeah, you lazy fat slobs why dont you get off your couch and move ur lazy asses. If you dont like Inches A Weigh than your a big loser and should just shut up …FLORENCE LADIES KICK BUTT and your all stupid. If its too expesnive for you, waa waah, why dont you GET A JOB . then you can aford it. GO FLORENCE FOXES! LOVE U LADIES!

leslie: Some of these comments should not even be dignified with a response, in my opinion. It seems that this conversation has attracted the lowest dregs of humanity..so I think I should try to restore some class here. I am not a lazy person, and I am gainfully employed, thank you. I happen to be a single mom who struggles financially to feed my CHILDREN, and I don’t necessarily have the luxury or spending $1,500 on a weight loss plan, especially when there are some really reputable plans that are much cheaper. I also am skeptical about the fact that these Inches A Weigh centers seem to just shut down and leave town in the blink of an eye, leaving their members in the lurch. Listen, I am allowed to choose a different weight loss plan without being a.) lazy b.) stupid or c.) inferior to you. The level of hate-mongering and ignorance I’m seeing from some of you is disgusting to me.

Louise: IT takes WORK to loose weight and if your just on here to complain about INches A Weigh you obviously have too much time on your hands and are not taking ACTION! The program WORKS if you do it RIGHt and don’t give up!

D. Schmitz: Well I have to agree with Leslie, I am simply appalled at some of the comments I’ve read on this blog. Those who like the program are attacking other dieters and callling them lazy, and a lot of those who don’t are ripping on the owners. Frankly all of this is a huge turn off to me. I was considering joining INches A Weigh -in Florence, as a matter of fact – but I have no interest in associating myself with the women who are posting here. I was actually trying to decide between this & Jillian Michaels, thinking that maybe I’d benefit from going to a center and getting support/inspiration from other women, but, not now. I suppose I can thank you for making my decision easier, but I have no qualms about giving this program a thumbs down even though I never set foot in a center. I can see it would only offere emotional abuse.

Mandy: Inches A Weigh is yet another program created for the masses, yet will only yeild results for the few. Most commercial diets have a limited success rate, and yes, that is if you put in all the hard work, follow the diet, exercise, drink your water……..and so on and so on. Then there are those of us, who for whatever reason, will not be successful on a commercial diet created with all individuals in mind. There just might be some people who need a more customized approach. Inches A Weigh is not that place, although the claim that it is seems to justify the $1500 fee they want. I found this out the hard way. I am hypoglycemic, lactose intolerant, and am on blood pressure, cholesterol, and thyroid medication. I also must take digestive enzymes when my pancreatitis acts up. I tried week after week to follow their menues, but it just didn’t work. And yes, I did get discouraged and stopped going, however continued to exercise on my own. There just was nobody at my center that could help with these problems, yet I was told they would customize a plan for me based on my medical history. What it all came down to was I was told a great big lie that put a great big dent in my bank account. To those of you who have been successful with your weight loss, I wish you continued success, but please don’t assume that those of us who have not, are lazy. There could be other circumstances, as in my case, that Inches A Weigh just could not deliver.

Paulette: Charlotte IAW ripped me off. The owners are scam artists. If anyone knows the names of these so called owners please let be leave a comment. Thanks.

Janice: Glad I came on here. I was thinking of starting Inches A Weigh since they were offering partial reimbursement incentive at work through our wellness program. I’m not super overweight but thought it would be nice to get rid of some extra weight and the whole spa concept sounded appealing. Some of the women in here that go to the florence one sound like psychos, glad that’s not the one near me. Thanks for all the useful comments, my money can be spent better somewhere else. I’ll check out some others that work will reimburse me for and hopefully there’s no fruit cakes going there like the florence kooks :)

d: Keep up the good work all the ladies at Florence and Thomas Moore.

ahm: Wow!!! I

c-k: well my time is comming to a end at that worthless place in florence ky ky and i could’nt be more glad

Carol R: I have been doing this program for a couple months (Spring, Tx location) and feel great. The cost is not high and the people / instructors are wonderful. Bottom line is losing weight is not easy, there is no miracle pill you have to workout and eat right. It does work if you follow the program, it is the excuses that fail you, not the program.

Rudy: There’s an awful lot of love & hate for Inches A Weigh; I am very turned off by what I’ve read and though i was considereing joining Inches A weigh in WI but am not interested now. Thanks to al for persuading me against this program.

Talia: So I got really sick of all the the nastiness that was going on in my Inches A Weigh Center, I was really trying to work hard and get the weight off but the counselors were very indifferent and seemed more interested in the drama of certain clients than in actually helping al of us succeed. After reading through this blog site I decide to try the Jillian Michaels program instead; a home program seemed a whole lot better after all the misery caused at the center (http://www.jillianmichaels.com/offer ). It takes a lot of discipline and self motivation but the pay off is great, 37 lbs in 3 months.

M: Let me be honest up front here. I worked for Inches-A-Weigh for 7 months, in Little Rock, Arkansas. So my opinion is obviously biased, and take it as you will. The first couple of months went really well, and the staff were informed and encouraging to clients. Apparently this center has a high turnover rate, due to very unprofessional management. In 7 months we went through about 12 employees, none of which were required to have a background in fitness of nutrition…After a couple of months, I saw what was happening behind the scenes. Let me just say that the phrase that was thrown around by the owner to encourage more sales was “if they cry they buy.” Jenny Carrea, the owner, is a predator who preys on women who have insecurity issues. She has never dieted in her life, knows nothing about nutrition or fitness, and only wants your money. I witnessed very unethical business tactics while I remained employed there. Please do not give your money to this “gym.” There are not enough machines to go around, the remaining employees know nothing about diet and exercise, and do not practice what they preach. In addition, having been an employee, I can tell you that this branch will not be open much longer unless Jenny finds more women to prey upon. The financial situation is not good. She does not have the money to pay her employees. Say whatever you want about other locations, but please, do not give your money to the Little Rock Inches-A-Weigh. You might lose weight, but it will come directly out of your purse.

Mia: I was going to join an Inches A Weigh gym near me but the hours didn’t really work. They wanted me to come in 3 times a week to get the weight off and this did not fit my schedule. The gym looked clean and the girl was nice but I couldn’t see paying all of that money for something that I couldn’t use that much. If they had child care, that would have helped.

Doris: So glad to have found this blog! Wow if employees are even saying that the Inches A Weigh staff is unprofessional, that really says it all to me. I need a semi-strict program but I don’t want to be told when to come in either. Not for me!

Kendra C.: So I wonder if the Inches A Weigh centers wil start closing their doors as fast as LA Weihgt Loss if they keep this up? I felt like the staff were very condescending and belittling, etc, NOT in any way helpful or supportive of my struggles and I feel cheated out of a lot of money, for nothing. I recently went back on the South Beach Diet – I lost 32 lbs on that 6 years ago, before I had my 2 kids. I thought a center was the way to go this time, but I don’t neeed this extra aggravation.

kate: The crazy thing is that it worked! I enjoyed my brief time there. I became ill and had to put my membership on hold. The owner called frequently to check up on me and I liked that. However, she never bothered to call me to tell me she was shutting the place down. She walked off with my prepaid membership ($1000) and hasn’t returned any of my calls. I’m about to submit a claim against the company with Better Business. My advice, good program pay only as you go. Or you’ll end up like me- A sucker.

M: Kate’s right, it is a good program in theory, but also, it depends on the owner. It sounds like there are a few out there who aren’t only concerned about the bottom line, and that’s really great. I got into this profession to help people, and what mattered to me the most was that I felt like I helped motivate women to get in shape and eat healthy. If you feel like this program is the only option for you, take Kate’s advice, and only pay as you go. If you research the company, you cannot find any statistics on how many of them are open for longer than a year or two, etc. The ownder bipasses having to release info about closings by offering the name as a licensing agreement rather than a franchise. So, the owners don’t even usually know what they are getting into.

valerie: It is a scam. Pease be very carefull when you are sighning for the membership I had the worst experience at Natick, Ma. It is a big con. I lost a lot of money.

c-k: why did inches a weigh in florence ky close on saturday”s is it because they did not want to be around a certain fake nutrionest or work out instructor.

candace: Wow- why is everyone so nasty? I enjoy the program still- months after my last post. Ladies, please- we search these blogs out for information and support, not spite and hatefullness because you were not satisfied. Voice your opinions with great reasons to back it up and move on. Best of luck with what does work for you. I enjoy exercising again thanks to these tables. It feels great to feel good about myself again.

IRene: Which Inches A Weigh do you go to Candace? Clearly its not the one in Florence? I am considering still and thankful i don’t live in KY. Is there a center in Eugene, OR?

Brenda: Seems to me like this virtual fight is more personal than about the Inches A Weigh program. I am rating it negatively, however, because I walked out of the program 32 lbs away from my target weight, and lost more than $1000. As others have said, I think the fact that the centers are shutting their doors without a word is important information for all of us to know, before signing up. I am not being spiteful when I say, be prepared to lose MONEY – not wiegth -if you sign up for this. Please be cautious. I just signed up online for the 5 factor Diet – I know that’s not going anywhere!

Patty: All women are different, beautiful and unique. Some need motivation, encouragement and disipline which at times can’t be found due to our crazy, fast lifestyles. Inches A Weigh can provide what is needed, but please ladies let’s not kid ourselves the power lies within yourself no matter what prigram you do if you are not ready you will fail. It would best serve you to refocus all that negative energy into energy that will help you get to your goals in all aspects of life. Let’s get real if you do the program and give it your all you will succeed. STOP being the victim if you’ve paid money then committ to it and make it work. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Name calling and bashing others for your shortcomings will never get you anywhere.

M: Ok Patty, I agree with you on several points you made. And you are right that every woman is different and unique. This belief is applied to the fact that all women have different body types, metablolism, and medical isssues (menopause, thyroid, etc.) In my experience at IAW, I saw women lose weight, reach their goals, and keep it off. However, that was not the case for the majority. I sat in the office with many women who had lost a few pounds and hit a plateau, even though they were DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT. The IAW staff is not qualified to tailor a program to fit individual needs of many different women. We’re talking about the food pyramid here. That’s all the diet is! It’s funny, because I had a lot of women say to me that they didn’t understand how they could be doing everything right, and not lose a pound. They told me repeatedly that they had much better personal success on Jenny Craig, and sometimes Weight Watchers. Once again, everyone is different, we all lose weight differently. But don’t blame women for not trying hard enough when you don’t know their individual histories. Patty, I am glad you have found success at your IAW, but remember they are not all created equal. You are lucky, and keep up the good work! And yes, name calling and personal bashing has to stop.

Mira: Thanks for the link to Jillian Michaels program Talia! I signed up and absolutley LOVE IT! She really knows her stuff, I feel more supported than i did at Inches a Weigh, even though she’s never met me!

Mira: Oops silly me, that would be a THUMB DOWN for Inches a Weigh…I was just so excited about my progress with jillian Michaels…I hope you all find what works for you, whether its with this program or something else!

Pam: I went to Inches A Weigh for four months. At the beginning I was losing weight like crazy. You have to follow a extreme diet they give you. Of course anyone who is determined will do anything at first. That was me. I did everything they asked me. I cut carbs from my diet and ate proteins like crazy. Which later I found out is not a good thing. Their diets is a little bit to extreme. Who eats brown rice and vegetables for dinner everyday? That got me sick. After a few weeks at Inches A Weigh, I somewhat did my diet and I was still losing a lot of weight. I thought “this is great.” But getting a grip of reality, no one gets off that easily. So I started gaining weight again, the machines were obviously not helping me. I mean I was doing the diets too, not eating sweets or anything, I just changed the meals a little bit. Like not eating brown rice and vegetables every night. That was my turning point for me. So I got serious again. This time it was different though. I was losing like .5 lbs per week, when I was losing weight. After I got tired of Inches A Weigh I decided to leave. I asked them to cancel my membership they said yes. But $180 was withdrawal from my bank account, I went there, they said they could not cancel my membership in till it was expired. The next month another $180 was withdrawal from my bank account. The only thing I could do was ask my bank to put a stop to it. So in conclusion those bastards took away $360 from me! When I joined Inches A Weigh I weighed 183 pounds. When I left, I weighed 165 pounds. For some odd reason, I lost 5 pounds after a couple of weeks I left Inches A Weigh. It did not take me long I gained back 10 pounds. Today I’m at 170. So, I wasted over $1500, to lose 13 pounds, and keep it off. Now you tell me. Do you think its worth it to waste all that money to have only have lost 13 pounds?

Lisa: I just heard that the Inches A Weigh in Manchester NH has closed and once again they took client money and shut the doors with no forwarning.

Karen: Inches A Weigh staff does not know what they are doing. They are unqualified to help people who really need help with their diet and exercise. The poeple who already know what they are doing would never waste money on a joke like Inches A Weigh. If an Inches A Weigh opens near you, Run A Weigh!!!!

Joyce: This is a thumbs up for the message I read here from Little Rock. I was seriously considering joining, but have decided to keep my money and continue with Weight Watchers. I realize weight losing centers are all different, with different owners, but they should all be consistently giving good quality service.

m,J: went to the Inches A Weigh in Charlotte NC and it was not all it was cracked up to be, I think there is just not a consistent quality to this chain of fitness centers. Plus so many of them just spontanously close or change their hours, its unpredictable and irresponsible, I am sorry to say i give it a thumb down.

Marilyn: Bad,bad, bad place to invest a lot of hard earned money especially in this economy.I foolishly believed the promises that were made to me and bought a membership, only to later learn that when I reached some stumbling blocks with my program, (placed on a new medication that causes weight gain) they could not accomodate. The employees barely got out of their chairs to see if members were using the machines properly, let alone give sound nutritional advice. When my membership ends I suppose I will have to find another program that will give me the help I need. I am very hesitant at this point to spend any more money, but I do need to lose about 40 pounds.

Doreen: The employees of INches A Weigh were nice enough, but very unprofessional. I think I could learn more about nutrition from spending 10 minutes reading articles on line than a whole week at the center. I thought the program would be a lot more useful & give me all the tools..but I found i stilll had to be pretty independent. I’ve broken down and joined a local gym ,and also just bought Slim 10, an advanced diet pill. I was opposed to pills for a long time, but well, the center failed me so I figured it couldn’t hurt to try. TO date, I’ve dropped 17 lbs too, so I think I made a good choice.

Angela: Inches-A-Weigh is a great program that will work for everyone. I’m sorry if people like “Pam” want to say the program does not work, she obviously never followed the menu plan. It is medically impossible to follow the Inches-A-Weigh program and exercise and not lose weight. Please ladies no not listen to all of these negative complaints, I have lost 50 pounds and loves the program and the staff.

Laura: Well, Angela, I’m glad that INches A Weigh worked for you. However, when you say it “works” what do you mean, exactly? Because technically, I could say that it “worked” for me while I was adhering to the strict, boring meal plan (Pam was right on the money with the brown rice and vegetables) but what good is a diet that “works” in the short term but the backfires on you when you inevitably run out of the superhuman willpower it takes to stay on it?? Look, kudos to those of you who really are able keep this up for the rest of your natural lives. I’m not. Sorry. P.S. Angela, there is one way that it is “medically possible” to not lose weight on Inches A Weigh: if the center spontaneously packs up and leaves town, taking your money with them.

Karen -again-: The Inches a weigh I stupidly paid money for is nothing but a sham. The girl in charge looks anorexic and I just found out she used to be a hairdressor. She the one giving me diet and exercise advise. What a joke. Thumbs down.

c-k: well karen the one in florence ky…they have women who came from behind a makeup counter. giveing advice on how to eat and excerise.now that is a real joke.and beat it all high school kids that just graduated.you think your inches a weigh is bad.i will be glad when my cintract is finley up.

M: Karen, did you attend the Little Rock center? Because the owner sounds familiar to me. Angela, that’s great that it works for you, but I highly doubt you have the nutritional and medical education to claim that the program WILL work for EVERYONE. I’m thinking about all the women who lost nothing where i worked because they were going through menopause, and we had nothing to say to them except that they were making excuses. Menopause as an EXCUSE?! Ugh! Also, there are many women who take various medications that make it incredibly difficult to lose weight. So please, don’t make generalizations about people you do not know.

tz: wowo I use to be a member of the Florence Inches-a-weigh and I made some progress, but becuase of special diet issues wasnt able to stick to their plan .. so I dont know if my slow progress was due to that. When I was there Donna was there on a regular basis… and I was thinking of coming back, because I did lose inches and tighten up my legs really good. Maybe I should make the extra drive to the other location… I had noticed the high turnover rate in Florence before…and I wish I knew how old these posts are is this ‘08 or 09? or earlier? Anywho I think I’ll test it out, give it a few weeks… it seems better than curves for what I wanna do, but only time will tell.

Lynn: The IAW in MT is actually very nice. It’s open and clean, and although there aren’t a whole lot of machines, when I went, there weren’t too many people and I didn’t have to wait to use them. Everyone there is very helpful and friendly too. It is a pricey program though, and since I already have a gym membership and have been going regularly, it would be better for me to continue this and to do weight watchers in conjunction with that. Besides the price I’d say its a very good program. I’m just trying to save money to pay for my wedding, and that’s pretty much the only thing holding me back from joining here.

amanda: Makeup counter girls, hairdressers…..!?!? no wonder i had an unfavorable experience at Inches A Weigh (in Charlotte). i never thought to look into the backgrounds of the staff, i just naively assumed they were qualified as weight loss counselors. now i understand the apathy and impatience, and the lack of knowledge. I don’t think they are bad people, and some of them mean well, I am looking for the best still.

jenny Carrea: For anyone that wants to know about the IAW program call the center in your area. There are always a few unsatisfied clients….In any business that happens. Unfortunatley those are the ones that feel like they need to respond in a negative manner. I am sorry for all those that have had bad experiences with any IAW center but please don’t let that get you down. You can succeed your desired weight if you put your mind to it. There are many other good porgrams out there. Good Luck to everyone! And “M” I hope this blog site has heard the last of you unless you are apologizing.

J.A.: The unique thing about the concept of Inches-A-Weigh is that it provides everything all under one roof! Nutrition (family friendly menus based on the food pyramid-you’re eating REAL food), Cardio exercise (to get your heart rate going so you’ll lose the body fat), and the Figure Shaping Equipment (that actually moves your body for you causing inch loss!!) This program is designed for women of all ages, all sizes, and all physical abilities. As with many weight loss programs, they work if you work them, as designed. But I think the advantage to the IAW program is that if you’re serious about changing habits and getting results, all the tools you need are there. The thing is, they will guarantee your results SO LONG AS you do the few things they want you to do…follow your meal plan, journal what you eat and bring it in every week, attend exercise classes at the center at least 3 times a week, drink your water and eat your protein! Regardless of the staff at each individual center around the country, if a woman follows those steps, she WILL get results. :) Good luck everyone!

Margie: I jointed IAW in LaPlace, La in January, 2009; I have lost a total of 17 lbs and 24.5 inches. I am very pleased with my success and the consulants(owners) couldn’t be more attentive to all their clients. Maybe because they are from the area or just very hard working down to earth people. They encourage everyone; they instuct their clients on the tables and with their diets. I think we have a great center.

M: I felt like when I went to the Inches a Way in Little Rock, the sales girl was only wanting my money. The girl didn’t seem like she geniunly cared about me or really any other of the people exercising there, so I chose to look at othert places. That’s just my personal experience though, I can’t judge other Inches centers.

Lin: I joined at the Florence IAW and then went to the Crestview location when it opened; however, now I am returning to Florence since Crestview is NO LONGER an IAW. I had never exercised in my life and had never had a weight problem but I had gained weight steadily over the past 20 years and felt it was time to do something so I went to the Florence IAW. I learned about diet and nutrition and CHOSE what I ate for meals. I relaxed on the tables–how nice that the machines could exercise my body for me! I worked out on the treadmill and elliptical each visit–aiming for 100 calories burned on each. When I hit a plateau, a counselor (Pam or Robin) would suggest what to do in order to start losing again. I lost the 25 pounds I wanted to; slimmed down from a 14 to an 8 (pants), 6 (skirt, dress, jacket); and increased my endurance. I think IAW is GREAT–in Florence, KY.

Linda: I have arthritis and fibromyalgia and the Inches-A-Weigh gym helps me incredibly. I am now having very bad problems with my hip and leg and want to go but I can’t because it’s WAYYY to expensive. It really saddens me that we have an awesome service very close to my home, that I love and would benefit me, but I can’t afford it. I wonder if health insurance would cover it, such as physical therapy?? They say it is so expensive because of the counseling. I don’t need the counseling, I know what to do, I don’t need that added expense but they tell you have to pay for that anyway.

sally ann: I like the cardio, toning and weight loss menus. They are simple to use and the staff is very helpful. The staff is knowledgeable and very willing to and answer any questions.

Laurie: I joined Inches A Weigh Aug. 2008. At the age of 48 and having been through many surgeries brain surgery and breast cancer and others. I have found that this is the best program for me since I can’t do fast paced machines with my brain surgery. I love the toning machines, which are very relaxing for me. I have lost a total of 34 inches which is wonderful. The weight is not coming off as fast but I have a hard time with the cardio again because of my brain surgery but I have lost 22 lbs. Which I think is wonderful too. I’m sure I would lose alot more…I’m still getting used to the diet part because I am still liking my coca-cola. All in All it is a wonderful exercise progam!!!!!!

Newnan, GA member: I’m not suprised to read all the controversary posted here. I personally enjoy this gym far more than any other gym I’ve attended. Because there are all ages, shapes and sized women that attend, I feel comfortable there. I’ve had some success with the plan, but can’t blame my slow results on IAW. I don’t follow their meal plan 100%. It is true that they give you 4 weeks of meal plans, then just want you to rotate them, and they are NOT personalized. I don’t believe they provide the “nutrition counseling” they advertise. This said counselor is not an expert in the field of nutrition…just another employee. The staff issues mentioned obviously will vary from center to center. Newnan’s staff is very friendly, but are obviously not fitness experts. I’m not exactly understanding how I can lose several inches and not much weight. Appearently that’s normal on this plan. I’m pleased to lose inches, but also need to lose weight at over 200 pounds. It’s strange that I’ve lost inches but haven’t noticed any changes in my clothing. At 40+ inches I would expect to notice something. The same person doesn’t always measure you, and if they see that what they’ve measured is larger than your last measurement, they will re-measure or just say that they’ll write that you stayed the same. Obviously not exact measurments. It is a bit expensive, and you get a high pressure pitch to “buy now and save.” Candace, who posted a couple of times earlier, is correct in saying that IAW staff (meaning herself, being that she IS an employee and THE employee who signs members up–this may also explain why Linda thought she sounded like a commercial) will spend an hour with you making the plan fit into your budget. She did spend quite a bit of time with me discussing the financial portion, but from what I’ve read and heard from fellow members, the price doesn’t really change that much, just the way they work the numbers to make an affordable monthly payment for you. Also, Candace is a sweet girl, and I have nothing against her, but as I’m sure her family “love the new her,” her success cannot be attributed to IAW. When she signed me up for the program she told me that she lost all her weight on her own–not with IAW. The Newnan facility has had great success. There are several members reaching their final weight goals, and 100+ pound losers. This program is as good or as bad as you let it be. With all fitness plans, you must be committed to diet and exercise. If you’re not mentally ready to lose the weight, then this plan (or any other plan) will not work for you. I hope this post is helpful to all those who, like me, are struggling with weight loss, and sought out this site to get information from current/former members; not current/former employees.

LInda: Hi, Newnan, Ga. member…thank you so much for clarifying that Candace is, indeed, an employee (and the employee that signs people up at that!) of Inches A Weigh. I thought maybe i was imagining things that she was doing a “sales pitch” in her post on here. I’m sure, as you said, she is a sweet girl, the girls at my center are all very nice too. But as you pointed out, they aren’t especially knowledgeable about diet, exercise, or nutrition in general. At my center, they really don’t seem to have a whole lot to offer in terms of guidance. I am sure there intentions are great, but i need KNOWLEDGE and gUIDANCE. Thanks all for your input.

Brenda: Inches-A-Weigh in Seymour, TN has been a life saver for me! End of January 2009, until now April 30, 2009; I have loss 27 lbs and learning how to eat probably. I would never have done it without Inches-A-Weigh. In just 3 months, Size 14-16 now to a Size 8 and 44″ smaller!!!! A life style change is alway work, but weeks later a it’s OLD Hat. Proud to be a Member.

Lynn: See the comments from “Angela” are what I am talking about. She is a counselor there and on here degrading members telling us we are LAZY. Wow, another reason I am glad I am not going there anymore. – Inches A Weigh

C-K: WELL NOW THAT MY CONTRACT IS UP THANK GOD.I CALLED THE CENTER IN FLORENCE TO STOP MY PAYMENTS.AND THIS IS THE RESPONSE I GOT YES IT IS HAVE A NICE LIFE AND GOOD BY NOW THAT SURE ANT NO WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS.I WAS NEVER LATE WITH A PAYMENT IN A YEAR AND THIS IS HOW A GOOD PAYING COUSTOMER GETS TREATED I WOULD NOT RECOMAND THAT PLACE TO NO ONE ……SO LONG INCHES A WEIGH.PLEASE DONT GET SUCKERED INH THE WAY I DID.C-K

Lorraine: I joined Inches a-weigh earlier this year. The women who opened it and the ones who worked there were wonderful. I really enjoyed the tables and cardio exercises as I was able for the first time to work out on the elyptical (sp?) for 20 minutes. After 3 months I only lost 7 pounds but I also lost 15 inches and felt good. Well, they told us they would be closed for maintenance Sat. (5/30/09) and would see me Monday (6/1). Well LO & BEHOLD, the door had a big “CLOSED” sign and I could see everything but the equipment was gone. I paid for a year in full and probably won’t and my money is probably gone too. L

LC: Antioch CA center is closed. It’s a shame that the women who were being helped the most now have no place to go. What happened?

Bonnie: I joined a new I-A-W in Pocatello, ID. I think the quality of the program is based on the quality of the staff and how much energy they choose to put into YOU you help you. This staff is “ok”: I think they could be a little more attentive but they are enthusiastic, which helps me a lot. I AM losing weight and I don’t mind the small gym. Just making myself GO has been a big help to me, and the menu plans have reigned in my tendency to just eat anything handy. I also think the staff was pushy in signing me up, however, and I didn’t have the courage to say “Whoa! Wait a minute!! I want to study this first!” After all, weren’t those “before and after” photos pretty convincing?! HERE IS MY WARNING: I’ve been reading Jillian Michaels’ newest book, “Mastering Your Metabolism,” and some of the ingredients in I-A-W’s food products are NOT GOOD, metabolically! READ THE INGREDIENTS CAREFULLY and compare with Jillian’s information. I now wish I hadn’t signed up for the 6 month protein supply, but I’m picking through the products carefully, trying to avoid the fake sugars, preservatives & colors. Example: In one of the “full meal” drinks, the very first ingred. is “calcium caseinate.” Per Jillian’s info, p. 108-09, this is a glutamate, and glutamates can affect the hypothalamus where the hunger hormone, neuropeptide Y, hangs out. On p. 60 you’ll read that this hormone stimulates eating AND stimulates the body to store fat!! So, the meal replacement drink feeds you with the fat you’re trying to work off in the belly area! Yikes! I plan to show this info to the staff and see what their reaction is! Stay tuned!

RC: I am glad I ran accross this site. I was looking into a fitness franchise to invest/open for woman. If this many people are not satisfied with IAW and the cooparation is not either training well, checking up on the centers, making changes as needed to keep the business a float and to make sure the small business owners thrive…All I can say is that is sad and a pity. I will look for another organization to invest in. Thank you all for your honesty. God bless you and keep you, and I wish you all the best in you endeavors to seek optimum health.

Mari: I love everything about Inches a Weigh excpt for the fact that I have be on a weight loss program in the first place

Arlene: I joined 3 weeks ago and they closed shop this past Friday with my money. – InchesAWeigh

isaacdm: Florence lost a total of: 294 lbs and 447 Inches in the month of June!! FABULOUS LADIES!!! Janel has lost 73 lbs and 63 Inches. We are so proud of your success.

isaacdm: C-K is still complaining. Could you imagine if she put some time actually trying to get healthy. Start with your attitude C-K. Best of Luck…LOL>>>

mabertr1: I feel the inches a weigh in Cedar Rapids, IA sold treatments that were nothing more than a scam. The thermal wrap body suit was nothing more than a plastic suit that they have you wear and proceed to lie on a table for 30 minutes. This treatment did not heat at all, therefore not causing the body to sweat to remove toxins. It is also very costly. When I explained this to the personnel it was handled very unprofessionally. I feel I paid $99.00 for a scam and not able to get my money back, or a replacement service with a different type of service.

c-k: well c-k is very healthy thank you for your concern.good luck to your half ran center. with people that is not ceritfied to run it. half are big and fat them selfs .what kind of support is that for over weight people .i went there for a year and none of the fatties lost any weight. so i dont need no fattie to tell me how to get skinney and eat better…

Margie: A few months ago I wrote I had joined the Center in LaPlace, Louisiana. I stated I was very pleased with the center and the owners. As of today, I can no longer agree with that statment. The prices are not published, nor do they charge the same amount (per visit) to every client. They treat each client different. When a client wants to speak with them, they do not keep it confidential. There is no motivation. When they do a contest (very seldom) the rules continuely change. There is no motivation. I enjoy the exercise but the menus are very boring after 6 months. The owners are not nutritionists, so they have no glue how to help their clients with their problems. When you say the menus are “boring” they say well that’s why you have a substitute list. Duh–Isn’t it their job to help their clients. And just recently, I heard they only renewed their LEASE for the building for only SIX (6) months rather than the usual YEAR. I guess we will be on the outside looking in soon and out of our money also. We shall see

Cindy: Hey guys THANK YOU so much for all the info. Just a question or well a comment. CHARGE BACK if on a credit card!!!! I sure would in a heart beat!!!! Going to call and cancel that appointment now :o )))))

Marion: Let me say a few final thoughts here. Inches a weigh is going under. More than 40 centers have closed nation wide. Thousands of customers have lost their money and most did not lose weight. The owners are to blame. People do your research before ever getting involved with a program like this again. I know I will.

Anon: Inches a Weigh is a sc*m, especially the one in Raleigh, NC. They completely suck and lack the intelligence of a potato chip. They are not a helpful staff and they have no proper training in weight loss. All they do is yell at you and tell you that you’re anorexic because you don’t want to shove food down your throat every 2 seconds. I’m trying to cancel my contract but they’re not being cooperative. Even though I have moved 40 miles away and I work during the hours that they are ACTUALLY open..ha..right, you’ll be reported to the BBB thanks.

MBDoerner: same opinion of the center in Raleigh. They told me when I joined that I was paying for one on one service, and the classes were taught by a personal trainer. what a joke. The trainer was fatter than me, and the lifestyle coach spoke to me 5 minutes a week. All she ever wanted to talk about was buying protein shakes and bars that taste gross. If you didn’t want to buy them, they don’t want to help you. I would rather buy a lap band.

BRENDA J: I was going to MY Weigh in Lubbock, TX and loved it, I was loosing good but they went out of business. Called Inches A Weigh and they were more than double in price. I told them from the start that I only wanted the exercise and not the nutrition. They quoted me a price over $1000 for a year membership. They weighed me the first visit and I exercised. On the third visit I was met at the door and was told I was to “heavy” to use their facility. I was to heavy to even use their bicycles. If I would lose 30 lbs using their nutrition then I could use their equipment. I will not be bullied into paying more money. I sure will not pay $1000 to be talked to like that. My goodness after all this is suppose to be a weight loss center. Then tell me I am too FAT! Seems can of odd I was not too heavy for MY Weigh but they were interested in helping me not just to make money off of me! I would not recommend the Lubbock, TX facility to anyone!!!! Stay away from the rip off place.

anonymous: Thanks for all the fedback-I was SERIOUSLY considering joining IAW, but wanted the cost posted and they don’t and after reading all this, I think I will join my local YWCA that will always be there and has lots of equipment and a walking track for a LOT less money and open a lot of hours every day for my schedule. Thanks for saving me thousands of dollars which I do not have !

Tina: I just love the Inches-A-Weigh Little Rock, AR location. The new owner is wonderful and caring. The staff is well trained and really care about their clients. They also have fun events and lots of educational stuff. The dietician also makes my diet custom.

Anon1: Thanks everyone for your posts, I was thinking of starting an IAW location in my area, how do you all think the “gym” program can be improved? I like the idea, the 3 step program, and it appears that the success of the business is due to the owner and employees’ commitment to the center/program and its members. I am totally confused and unsure if I should proceed into researching the franchise further…

Anon2: Checking if my comment posted…

Sherrie: I was over weight for years after my second child. I started the program and was very happy with it. I lost not only weight but inches to I went from a size 20 to a size 7 you couldn’t even tell I had children my stomach was so flat I felt good and Yep I looked good to. This program is what you make of it and as for price well it is small compared to other programs that do not get the results inches-a-weigh did. just sorry they are not in this location anymore.

SickAndTired: I joined Inches a weigh in Idaho Falls,ID 2 months ago. I was really pressured by the lady who did my “free” consultation. The $1200.00 program cost is a little much, but I was promised 1.5-2lbs. loss every week and the biggest promise for me was accountability. They said if I din’t show up for a scheduled “class” then I would get a “care” call for them to see if everything was OK. I accidentally missed 2 classes in a row after being there 6 days a week for 5 weeks and guess what, no call. Plus, I have only lost 7lbs. even though I follow the plan. They claim I have lost “inches”, but the lady who signed me up and measured me for the first time had the tape pretty loose and now she’s since been terminated. I’m going in tomorrow to see if they’ll cancel my contract since they say they guarantee results, but I doubt that it will be honored. Don’t join unless you are over 40 and sedentary!!

Inches-A-Weigh

Inches-A-Weigh is a weight loss program that was reportedly founded in 1986. According to the company’s official website, they do not subscribe to fads; instead, they believe that lasting weight loss comes from eating the right foods, working out, and having the right attitude. Instead of offering weight loss supplements they use a three prong approach to weight loss success.

 Plan
The Inches-A-Weigh weight loss plan involves three distinct phases. Phase 1 is Nutritional counseling. Phase 2 is Body Sculpting, using unique equipment in the Inches-A-Weigh gyms. The final phase is Cardiovascular Fitness using aerobic equipment like treadmills and elliptical. The nutritional aspect of Inches-A-Weigh includes a family oriented eating plan that allows clients to plan their own meals using predetermined menus. During this first stage the official website indicates people can lose around 1.5 to 2 pounds per week. During the figure shaping stage, clients are told they can lose 8 to 15 inches in 3 weeks. Finally, it is said that the cardio phase allows for the achievement of your goal weight.

 Price
At the writing of this review, Inches-A-Weigh does not divulge pricing information on the official website. This is not unusual, though they do indicate that your first two weeks are free at the time of this review.

 Official Website
The official website of Inches-A-Weigh features a comprehensive amount of information about the entire program. Prospective clients can learn more about the three phase program and even see just how the gyms or spas look on the inside. In addition, there are success stories posted and a location finder is available as well.

 Final Facts
Inches-A-Weigh is a weight loss system for women. It is said to utilize nutrition, strength training, and cardio workouts to assist women in reaching their goal weight and a healthier life altogether. There are Inches-A-Weigh centers across the country where women can do their workouts and meet with consultants about their dieting progress and questions. Although the pricing information isn’t currently available, the Inches-A-Weigh program is said to be guaranteed successful. More information on Inches-A-Weigh can be found by visiting an official website.
