Tina: As far as I can tell, Calotren will not be most effective for my weight loss needs. I’d prefer to keep the collagen out of my diet products and just keep it in the skin care products, where it’s been proven to be more useful.

Calotren has both beef derived collagen and plant, so to not use the product because of the fact that it comes from beef is ignorant. Second, the company that I bought my Calotren from clearly states that it takes about three months to see results. I would love to read an educated comment about this product from someone who has actually used it. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter–just let it be someone who isn’t speculating.

It has taken three months for the welts and raised bumps to go away I tried to return the unopened product but they told me that I had a 30 day guarantee to return it. I didn’t know that Calotren was the problem until after the 30 days. The company didn’t care and refused to give me the refund, saying that it couldn’t be their product and was very rude. I ended up hanging up on them because all she wanted to do was argue and try to talk over me.

I’ve been taking it for 2 1/2 weeks and have seen no results. I know I’m pushing it by only giving it 2 1/2 weeks. Well, let me be that person: I used Calotren for 7 months, and while I was not bothered by the “beef” issue either, I WAS extremely bothered by the fact that this product simply did not WORK. At all. I noticed, Becky, that for as much as you defend this product, you didn’t cite any weight loss of your own. I have to wonder why. If you had a “success story” with this rip off junk, I would have thought you’d use it in your arguments. Anyway, bottom line, Calotren is a complete joke, don’t bother.

lookitup: its made of collagen ,that would be about 25 per cent all mammals connective tissue;as used in bone,cartlidge, teeth,hair,etc. try doing a little research before you diet?? lots af info on collagen on the net, and by the way there are more than one type of collagen and some are 1 gram and others are 6 gram and 25 gram some hydrolyzed or not also chicken,fish also–ate all these?? happy with calotren: I am very happy with Calotren I have been taking it for a couple of weeks and already have seen weight lose and my sister has taken it for 3 months and lost 40 pounds. The product does work if you take it right. On an empty stomach and right before you go to sleep not bed. It is like any other diet you are going to have to put some effort into it. You need to follow a good diet and not just sit on your butt to make it work. I think it is a mind set if it is going to work or not. I went into it that it was work and I am excited to get started. Holly: If anyone has lost weight since using Calotren, I’d bet anything its due to lifestyle changes you’ve made. I put on just a little bit of weight last year (it was a hard year + I turned 40) and really wanted to get the 8 lbs off, that’s all. I exercise regularly and eat a low-fat diet full of fresh foods. rachel: well, as far as i could tell Calotren was just a protein supplement, not a weight loss product. I never lost any weight, in fact i think i might have gained a few pounds due to injuring my back & not being able to exercise. calotren user: ok i have used calotren..most of the negative comments here are from people who haven’t tried it. first of all it did work for me. i lost 10 pounds over 7 weeks. second on the stuff in the calotren..well for all those against aloe vera, bovine etc. need to educate theirselves. aloe vera has been used for weight loss, i can’t find the article or i would reference. using cow..well unless you are a vegetarian or vegan..not too sure why anyone would complain..doesn’t anyone eat steak or hamburgers??and for all that don’t like to take collogen and want to keep it on skin..ask a dermatologist for all you folks who blow your money on cosmetics that contain it..well its proven skin can not absorb it due to the molecular structure. fact is you have to eat less, eat healthy get off the couch and don’t knock it before you try it for the recommended time it takes for the results. for those who did try it with no results, i can’t say why if you were doing as the directions say. i love it! my skin looked better, slept well, felt good and i actually burned fat and kept muscle.

Annette: I’m in the middle of my third month taking Calotren. I haven’t lost weight. I think I feel a little better, but I don’t think Calotren works for weight loss. As some posted, if you can eat in moderation, and eat absolutely nothing three hours before you go to bed (stopping at 7pm for most), you would lose weight doing that alone. I would have a snack (up to 100 calories) or around 5 oz. of wine sometimes around 9pm and seems that by itself caused calotren not to work for weight loss.

TXMom38: They want you to take it on an empty stomach because otherwise it won’t absorb quickly enough during that first phase of your sleep. You take it on an empty stomach right as you’re going to bed. I’ve researched it and they’re right…the first phase of sleep is the best time for your body to use the collagen because evidently your body is repairing muscle and other things during that time.I’ve lost weight with it and it did take about 2-3 months to see results but it’s because it has to build up over time. It has aloe vera in it because that helps the collagen absorb better. My friend had to start taking chemo so she had to return her pkg after taking one bottle and they were fine with it even though it was way past the 45day return period. She said they gave her no problem at all.I think these are competitors posting most of the bad stuff on here….or people who were “snacking” or drinking between that 2-3 hr period before bed. It’s not magic people…and last time I checked they didn’t claim it to be either! Anyways, I know not everything works for everyone but I think if you follow their directions you have a good chance of seeing results. Chey: Agree that not eating after 7pm must help with weight loss. I have lost 15 lbs in 6 weeks. Other benefits…sleeping soundly, my knees stopped hurting and I have more energy.
