HoodiaP57 - Pure 20X Strength Certified Hoodia
This product is simply as good as Hoodia gets. It is 100% certified, pure Hoodia from South Africa. It also boasts 20X the strength. If any Hoodia product is going to suppress appetite, this is the one. We also like that HoodiaP57 contains nothing else except pure Hoodia -- no fillers and no stimulants. This means it is safe to take whenever you want – including close to bed time. There are hundreds of Hoodia products on the market now, but we don’t even bother to list them on this site, because 99% of them are just cheap imitation Hoodia that is not even from South Africa, where the P57 molecule is the most effective. We chose HoodiaP57 to be on DietBlogTalk because it is of the utmost quality. The maker even includes a certificate of origin from the South African government stating the Hoodia originates from there. This product has nearly a perfect ‘Thumbs Up’ score. Check this one out. MiracleBurn®
Miracleburn® is a pretty amazing phenomenon. It has consistently received one of the highest ‘Thumbs Up’ blog ratings on our site. The really amazing part is that most of their customers come from word of mouth, and it is quickly becoming one of the most popular diet products available. The maker of Miracleburn® doesn’t spend tens of millions on advertising like alli®, Hydroxycut® or Curvelle to hype their product. They simply let their satisfied customers virtually do the marketing for them. We suggest reading through the postings. The formula consists of a quality form of Hoodia, combined with the patented metabolism booster, Advantra-Z®. It also has several other balancing secondary ingredients. Part of what makes their product such an effective crowd-pleaser is the manufacturing technique and perfect balance of ingredients. Read a full MiracleBurn Review Here.

This product is just what it sounds like - chewable Hoodia pieces. The good news is that they actually use a superior quality form of Hoodia, and it works. In fact, this is probably the fastest way to feel Hoodia, because when you eat it, it digests so much quicker. In fact, most customers report that it works in minutes not hours like traditional capsules. The chewable pieces are very much like a piece of taffy and taste good. They kick in faster than a quality Hoodia pill, and definitely do the trick. They are only a few calories per piece, and may be taken safely throughout the day. This is a good product to use by itself or in conjunction with another diet pill/program. Hoodia Bites are well liked by the customers – the blogs score well. Read a full HoodiaBites Review Here.

The Maker's Diet
Many people turn to the Bible and scripture for spiritual guidance and everyday support. Jordan Rubin, the author of The Maker’s Diet, also found inspiration for his weight loss and wellness plan. This program cuts out processed foods and encourages dieters to partake in a whole food lifestyle. There are three two-week phases, which is enough time to generate weight loss, but not overwhelm the diet. Rubin offers sound nutritional advice that focuses on cleansing the body and overall health. However, the diet also offers advice in other areas of life, such as hygiene, and advises dieters to thoroughly cleanse the face, hands and neck in the morning and evenings. This program has received quite high reviews on consumer review websites, and the general consensus for The Maker’s Diet is that it is effective and easy to follow. Lisa: It great fun fast and no men and i think it's great for anyone. go and see ladies.

Madeleine: I joined "Curves" 6 months ago and all I got was encouragement. I was directed really well and managed to loose 6.5 pounds already. I have made great friends there and we even meet on the weekend to walk together. I am still struggling with hunger from time to time but I started to use a supplement pill and it is being really helpful. Go Curves!

Eden: I love the idea of Curves! It's so great that there are only women there, and we don't have to care what we look like, can stagger in after work for that 30 minutes of making ourselves feel good and get enough energy to go home and make dinner, but I'm sad that it doesn't seem to be doing much for my muscle tone. I've only been going a couple of times a week for the last 4 weeks, and maybe that not enough time to show any kinds of results, and that's why you have to join for a year, to get the real benefits. Any how, as long as I've all ready signed a contract and have to make the payments, no matter what, I'm going to continue to go and hope that the workouts will finally start to show.

Faye: I think if I just keep going to Curves, or maybe go more often, it's going to work. I've been going for 6 weeks all ready, don't see much difference, but on the other hand I don't have a bunch of sore muscles, either, and that's what I got when I had a trainer who pushed me so hard I thought I was going to die! So this may take longer, but so what? I like what it's doing to my head, and I'll bet pretty soon it will start to show on my body.

Ilene_Clinton: If you are ever in Ct you should come to our Curves location! The women here sweat! We push each other! This is no social hour! Yes, some women elect to socialize before or after working out but we are breathing too hard to gossip during sessions. I lost 40 pounds 10 years ago and now I am a trainer! believe it!

sandi: Well, I like Curves so far...the camaraderie, the closeness, the fun attitude. I am feeling it's a great place to meet new people and not be embarrassed about your body!

Constance: yeah, I have lost about 5 pounds so far watching what I eat and going to Curves. It is a little like high school, but just as I excelled then because I did not have many friends my workouts are productive because I do not fit in with the popular girls. I like my body more than ever and am very contented with my life.

Ilse: I hate exercising, I really do, I hate to sweat and get all grimy, which is how I usually feel after a work-out. But not so with Curves. I work out just the way I want to, which at this age of 61, is not so strenuous, but sort of graceful and thorough, just like I like to think I am. It's the perfect place for me right now, and I'm going to add a Yoga class for more stretches, but Curves has given me the right push in the right direction that I needed.

Denise: I joined Curves a couple of weeks ago and so far noone made me feel unconfortable which is something I was really concerned about. I used to be part of a "regular" gym with a private trainer and all the fancy things you can imagine, I had to stop after 1 week because I kept getting the dirty looks from people because I am a little overweight. So far I like it.

Daniella: I used to play tennis. I became a fan after watching a game with Nastase, man he was good and so funny. Anyway, after a bad accident years ago, I stopped playing and there was not much I was interested in doing to stay in shape, I just loved tennis. My friends told me about Curves a year ago and I abolutely love it. Its sort of a second house for us, we are both in ours late 60s and here at Curves we can just exercice at our own pace, swim, chat... I mean I just love it almost made me forget about tennis and Nastase for a awhile:)

salena: I have been going to curves for four weeks now and i love it, i feel and look better. I recommend it.

Noel: Like anything else, your own passion and desire create your atmosphere. I started curves because I needed to get out of my home, where I work, and just move. I know how to eat and work out...do I want to? Most times not. Sometimes just getting out the door is the success. Every move on every machine I try to make it a move that counts! If I'm going to do this, make it count! It is up to me, not curves or any other gym or program. Taking the time after to add some of pilates and ab work and then... stretch, really stretch, gives my body what it needs and keeps me going. All in all it is only just under an hour. The older we get the more this has to become a lifestyle not a quick fix. If you don't want to chat don't! If you want more help to get you going, ask for it. One note...at my curves they could use another gal on the floor making sure everyone is doing the exercises correctly and keep encouraging those that are 'slackin' off. More bang for your buck, keep your lower ab tucked, pressed to back of your spine. Again...make every rep, move and machine count!! Quit chatting and encourage one another as you work out!

Victoria: I just joined Curves last week and have gone three times so far. I wasn't sure the machines in the gym would offer me a good workout since they seemed so easy to use, however, after my 2nd workout, I did notice a difference. I haven't lost weight yet, but I think if I go I will. I think like everything in life, different things work for different people. I was not pleased with having to sign a contract for a year, but this will keep me going. It is expensive, but hopefully I will feel it is well worth it after the first year. I do think that if you are overweight you have to keep in mind that you didn't get that way in just a few months, if you are like me it happened slowly over a few years and now I have to remember to allow myself enough time to get rid of it. I do feel more energetic after I go. I don't mind the socializing. I talk if I feel like and I don't if I don't want to. No pressure.

Cathrine: dont know which curves you go to!!!! maybe in USA as a few have ref to mum as mom?????? and pounds instead of kilo???? well i just love my curves as do all the other ladies in the club here in malvern victoria australia

Anonymous: I feel encouraged and supported by the instructors as well as the women who attend the Albert St Gym in Palmerston North, and have lost weight and cms. A great atmosphere for getting fit Evelyn

Jackie (England): I LOVE CURVES, if you want a decent workout, work harder on the machines, the machines are hydraulic so the more effort you put in the better the workout, my weight and inch loss has been slow, but after faithfully going 3 times a week I have dropped 2 yes 2 dress sizes, I think we as woman on a whole are hung up on the scales, measure measure and loose inches. Please please talk to your Curves trainers, the concept is fab and it will work.

Jody: I have been a member for 16 months now, what a great idea. Someone asked for price, I pay $49 a month. Join Up fee was a one off payment of $99. THe girls are fantastic where I go in Ballarat Vic, Australia. I have lost 40.5cm in total!!!!!!I recommend to anyone, any age, any shape.

Fran M. Brougham: Hi, My name is Fran Brougham and I have been a Curves member for 5 years. I have lost lots of inches but am still working on the weight and body fat losses. I had lost alot of weight earlier but managed to put it back on. Also, I am down two dress sizes and that feels great! Besides going to Curves, I try to add other types of exercise into my week as well, such as treadmill, water aeorbics and walking or riding a bike. I am determined at 60 years old, to be as healthy as I can be. Curves helps us as women, not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually as well. We all go to Curves for different reasons. The main one for me is to be as healthy as I can and to present a pleasant appearance of myself not only to others but to myself. Sincerely, Fran M. Brougham, Curves at Village West, Erie, PA

Lauren: I have worked for Curves for a year and before that I was a member there. I have seen both great results and not so great results. Those who have good results, simply put, work hard. While I do agree that a lot of our ladies like to come to us to chat and socialise, this does not detract from the fact that we encourage and motivate once on the circuit. If our ladies want to stay and chat afterwards then that is fine-I see no problem. The club in which I work has great results and friendly staff. It truly is about what you put in. Some of our members complain if they get hot-well if you are exercising hard of course you SHOULD be hot!!!!! As I said, I was a member before I started working for Curves. I wasn't particularly overweight, however, in the first six months of JUST Curving,I lost 17.5 inches and 6lbs. Bearing in mind that toning increases your muscle mass, you should be more interested in your inch and body fat loss. I continue to lose weight and body fat and inches, although obviously at a slower rate now. Every body is different. Some peoples metabolic rate is fast, enabling them to lose pretty quick. Others of us need to tune our metabolims up. It can take time. If you are overweight, how long did it take you to come out of your comfort zone? Most people find that its months or years as opposed to days or weeks even. Cut your body some slack-give yourself and your body a chance. Unfortunately there is no miracle cure-exercise and healthful eating is the way forward. As you exercise tougher, your body will adapt and allow you to work even harder, creating better and better results. As for the comments regarding doing other forms of exercise-this is a choice that some of us make when we become exercise 'junkies'! This is not to say that Curves alone does not work. For 18 months I got great results from 3-5 workouts a week alone. But as I have become more and more into exercise I have incorporated other activities into my regime. Its because you come to enjoy exercising so much that you WANT to do other things. Now that I've gone on and on, I would just like to say that I was very sad to read about experiences of neglect etc at Curves facilities.I am sorry that these ladies have had these experiences as this is not how Curves should be. I would just like to point out that not all Curves are the same, so if you are at all interested go have a look. Different clubs run differently. Different owners do certain things differently. At our club we have a circuit coach running the circuit all the time, plus at least two if not three other members of staff on hand to give advice or generally chat to our members. We may not always know EVERY members weigh in date, however when a member clocks in there is a reminder on the screen and we always remind our members to remind us to weigh them!!! Perhaps you should all join our Curves in West Sussex!!!! Oh and we would never give out Candy-and we would never eat it on show ourselves. That is totally mean! Come to Curves, Work out hard, have a chat on the stretch machine WHEN YOU'RE DONE!!! If you can talk on the machines you are not working hard enough!!!!!!!! Oh, and as our manager would say-'its not a summer camp! COME ON'!! Lauren, Horsham, West Sussex.

Karen - Kirkintilloch Curves: Well said Lauren (above)! I have been going to Curves for five months now and I have not seen great results in terms of weight loss, however, until last month, if Im honest with myself I wasn't really putting a great deal of effort into the machines and I was still over eating. Since putting in much more effort on the machines I have lost almost 3 inches off each thigh, albeit my weight is the same. Many of the comments posted above seem to want quick miracle results without much effort so no wonder they are dissatisfied. In answer to many of the above comments I have never had anything but encouragement - and if you don't want to talk, which mostly I don't, then you don't have to. I have never been offered chocolate etc as an incentive and frequently visit the Elgin Curves when on holiday - they are very welcoming and are not hostile just because they do not benefit financially from my membership. As for the negative comments about the older women, I am only 37 which is in the lower end of the age range at my Curves, however, the older women and nothing but pleasant, so what if they feel the need to chat and have a bit of company - we are all there for different reasons and at least they are active. I hope all the intolerant young folk remind themselves they will be old too one day! I really enjoy Curves and although I agree you could do a similar workout from home I know I am not disciplined enough to do so. As for joining fee - look out for special offers - I joined with no fee in exchange for a bag of shopping for Woman's Aid so I saved one hundred pounds. I suppose this site just reflects life, some trainers at certain Curves will have different personalities and better / worse ideas than others and the members have different personalities and are looking for different things from a gym. Don't let this site put you off - give it a try and make sure you go at least threee times a week to get your moneys worth!

sarah: I have only been going to curves for 5 weeks and wanted to get a bit fitter following an operation. For the first couple of weeks I took it easy, doing just 30 minutes, but the instructors encouraged me to stay longer. Everyone is friendly and the ages range from early 20's to mid 50's and all shapes and sizes. Whilst friendly everyone is there for a purpose and most sweat. I would say the average time is around an hour!! and some of the younger fitter ones stay longer. There is no candy, just water. It really is what you make of it. I think variety is also good and occassionally would do a DVD workout at home or go to a powerplate for 10 minutes. I was happy to sign on the dotted line for 12 months as this means I will go rain or shine. The instructors do come round and give advice about doing the exercises and encourage you to increase the amount of exercise or the weight on the machines. So far I can say only positive things.

Keira: Has anyone read the book :Curves on the go? It's really good. It gave me a lot of encouraging tips to still keep staying healthy even though I work full time and have 3 kids to take care of. A must read in my opinion.

jana: i LOVE going to Curves to do the 30 minute total body workout....its challenging but my curves trainer is great, and the other women there are so cool and motivating. i work hard, but i also have fun, and I leave feeling like I've done something good for myself. And getting the "report cards' really keeps me wanting to push myself and do better.

AmandaCA: I am very interested to join Curves but also terrified! I have never worked out before and are really shy. I am looking into the one by my house (Santa Monica CA) and it says that the club is a "Shining Star club". What does that mean exactly?

Mena K.: Is Curves on the Go the same as the Curves FItness & Weight Managment Plan, Keira? I just got a copy of that book last week and have tried a few of the menu plans already, it seems pretty good. I was happy to see this addition, to the workout program.

beckyt: Sarah, the whole idea behind Curves is a 30 minute work out! I joined last year because I don't have a lot of time and I will never stop going! I also like the fact that there's no guys around and I've made a few new girlfirends!

Keira: I ordered the book from the official website so I am sure it's connected. I am not a member of the curves fitness club Mena so I don't know, I would imagine it is. I would def. join if I had the time.

Juliette: True the fact that there is no guys there makes me feel so comfortable. I used to wear makeup when I was a member of the YMCA:) I know ridiculous right. I lost already 12 pounds since i started Curves, I changed my diet and go there as often as I can. I really feel like by the summer I will reach my goal.

Julie: Hey i like the online support and stuff from Curves too...but my favorite thing is when i go and actually get moving with my workout buddies and my trainer. the workout , in my opinion is really at the heart of the whole thing, and not to mention you burn like 500 calories in 30 min!

shanb: I knew I should have invested in a Curves franchise when I had the chance. There's one right by my house, and I used to go very regularly. It's cool because if you miss a few times they'll always take you back, and it's not as expensve as a full on gym membership.

Angela B.: IS the 30 mins workout anything like a spin class? I almost died trying spin once! I think that's why I cannot workout, my friend always take me to those super hard classes and it does not make me want to do anything. Like pilate for instance, OMG it was so hard! Anyway, I am liking what i am reading so far about Curves and there is one about 15 mins from my place, I just want to know what kind of workout there are doing there. Thanks

Lori: I agree about not having men at Curves..i don't have anything against men (i like them a lot, actually) but it really does interfere with my ability to just pick up and go to the gym when i am all worried about my hair looking ok or do these sweatpants make me look fat, or do i look old, better put on makeup, etc. It just makes it this whole ordeal just to leave the house. At curves i know its just ladies and the times i usually go there are often the same girlsl who i've gotten to know. So its like a nice laid back environment almost like being in your house except with a real trainer there lol.

barbara: No Angela, it's actually like a bunch of resistance machines in a circle and you do little 3 minute circuits at each station. They always have music going, which helps me get in the mood. I'm also 65 sweetie, and I like it because you can go at your own pace, in terms of number of reps and so forth. Curves is sort of my nice time away from my husband a few times a week too!

Desiree: My mom ttalked me into joining with her, and it wasn't for me at all. The first few times were fun enogh, but most of the women, were more her age, in their 50s and not in there 20s like me. I felt like, it just wasn't enough of a challenge, but then I guess i was looking for more of a gym, then a weight loss plan. My mothe loves it and stil goes, but I like the classes and everything better at 24hour fitness, its more my speed. I htink, maybe for some its a great start but not as intense as what i wanted.

rachelbird: Yeah Desiree, I kind of felt like it was for the older women at first, but I think it's as challenging as you make it for yourself. I'm a fan of Curves and just try to get in a couple of runs during the week to get my heart going a little more.

Caitlyn: ha, well Desiree I personally dont mind working out with older ladies at all...at my gym I am the youngest and most attractive person there...I don't get to feel that way all that often! so its nice. But basically its not a competitive enviironment, its very supportive and nice and i understandd what those ladies are going through.

Annie: Oh,e xactly my sentiments Caitlyn! I've been to some gyms where, I just get irritated because, I either get some nasty guy hitting on me, or I have to watch the hot guys hit on the hot girls, who are just so perfect looking they don't even need to be at the gym. At curves, I know no ones lookng at me, al the pressures off!

JOanp: I used to go to Curves when they first started opening! It was ok for a month, but I got bored after awhile too. The problem now is I don't do anything anymore. I think I'm going to try it again. At least to get me back on the excercise train.

Stella: hi, have any of you ladies signed up for the Fitness Study that Curves has going with Avon right now? I'm just curious because it seems like you get a lot of gym time for cheap. What's it all about?

tessa: I haven't done the fitness study program with Curves, but I know from experience that it's just better to sign up with them month to month, otherwise those promos get you into some long contract and it takes forever to get your credits.

MArtha d.: Not interested in bein part of a fitness study, i joined Curves b/c and I can just get in & out in a half hour, and do my circuit without having to thin about it. Simple & effective, thats what i like.

Jennifer Moore: i feel like my journey will never end! I lost 37 pounds even since I joined Curves 7.5 month ago and now that i am almost in shape, my spider veins seem more visible as ever! I just don't know what to do about it. Does anyone know of an exercise I can do to make them go away?

judithb: I like Curves because it's quick too. All my neighbors go and it's a good way to get the local gossip and get some regular excercise.

Stella: Ok. cool, thanks for the feedback ladies, I will just do regular Curves for now, sounds good.!

JudeS: This is a program I've been looking into for awhiel and am thinking I should just go for it. I think its awesome that they have Curves locations all over, and am wondering if you can use those gyms, while traveling? I'm sent all over the place for work and it'd be great to have something more familiar, than just the hotel fitness center. I can always ask the membership rep when i sign up,but thought I'd ask here first, thanks.

tracyk: I think you have to sign up for a national membership Jude, if you want to go to the other Curves locations. I live in LA and it seems like we have them EVERYHWERE. This was annoying to me at first, but they're so convenient. I have one by my work and one by my house.

Carolyn: I wish I knew Jennifer, I have had spider veins for so long and now even in my 20s before i had kids and was skinny I had tons. I think I get that from my mom. I have a tried a bunch of exercises and a few creams but nothing helped, not even stopping to cross my legs when I sit. Maybe when I reach my weight loss goal I will treat myself to some laser work:) I am almost there I already lost 23 with Curves, 17 more to go.

delia rogers: OMG, I just bought the Curves popcorn and LOVE IT! Its so much healthier than most microwave popcorn, and doesn't taste bland or anything. Great snack, only 110 calories. I'm not into all these food brands or whatever but this is actually really good.

Nel: The spider veins are the worst, i agree with you ladies! AS soon as I got down to an acceptable swim suit size, one that I felt comfortable with anyways, I bought some self tanner and tried to cover 'em up. DIdn't work too well though. Here I was, 36 lbs lighter since joining Curves, and still wanted to cover up. You know whats good though, is Venacura, those pills, cleared 'em upp in about 2 mos or so, really great. Better than any creams too, those never work.

morganna: Thanks for all the great tips ladies. I am going to try that Venacura for my spider veins. I paid a lot of moeny to have saline shot into them and all it did was make them worse. As for Curves, I think it's the best too, but I'm coming back here when I want some great feedback on other things that matter to me too!

Ginger: Love the program,I've been going to Curves for almost a year and enjoy it every day. Even on the most difficult days, when I don't want to push myself, I find support & encouragment, from either staff or other members. Its wonderful, knowing that others are commited to helping me, reach my goals. I feel like its mroe directed and, more of a community than the Y was, n my area anyway. I wonder how the supplements are, anyone tried them? I;m most curious, about the PMS formula.

Catie: Yeah Curves has a few really yummy foods that i enjoy. right now i'm totalyl loving the Honey Crunch cereal & the Fruit and Nut Crunch. they are both delicious and are really healthy.

Benna: My BMI is 20.8 which is normal but I feel fat still, I mean I really feel out of shape. I am 34 and never really work out, I just walk a lot because I live in the city. I hate regular gyms I went a few time with a 1 week pass to try them out and was always out after 10 mins. It feels weird and I feel like everyone is staring at me which there probably not, but I feel that way. Anyway, I want to do something and Curves sounds very close to what i am looking for. Just a question : is it mostly focused on cardo work or also on lifting? You see, i dont have much weight to loose I just have to get firm. Do they offer that too? Thanks

Allison: Well, I just joined my local Curves, and so far I'm thinking I just dodn't fit in there. The ladies seem nice but aside from a few polite niceties, they don't really talk to me, and they all seem to know each other so well. And the 30 minute work out, while it's nice and quick, i feel lilke its kind of hard, I am trying to push myself but I'm not feeling that warmth and girl bonding that everyone seems to love. Everyone's nice, just not overly friendly to me. I may as well keep trying it, I know my body must not be used to cardio exercise i really never did it. Does it get easier? DOes it take a while for people to warm up to you? Maybe I'm just being impatient expecting it to be instant Sex and the City or something...

Frank Minginoi: I am posting because of the changes I have seen in my wife. NO I do not go to curves but she does. She goes 3 days a week and always comes back glowing. WE have been together for 24 years and I can honestly say that this is the best thing she has ever done for herself iwht regards to health. I am thankful she found a place where she can work out with no excuses. We had Y memberships but both have expired years ago...does does anyone know of anyting similar for men? Thanks everyone - Frank M.

Celine: Curves feel so ghetto! No wonder it's cheap. It would not hurt them to invest a few hundreds in lighting and nice towels, especially considering how popular it has become! I'll go back but I tell you I feel like I need 2 showers when I get home.

Katie A.: DO they have showers, or locker rooms at Curves? I would think that, you would want to shower anyway after a workout, no matter where you go. I am glad to found this blog, I had thought it was just a fad from a few years ago, but good to see, lots are still going. Gonna check it out tomorrow,my day off.

nancebychance: Ladies, Curves is so chep because they DON't have shower and towels and all the other things that come with a full servive gym. And of course you need to shower after you excercise (unless you don't have sweat glands) - that's why there's a Curves just about every 5 square miles in my city. It works!

Mathilda: I live in NJ (jersey city) and the Curves we have there is actually pretty nice, not ghetto at all. I am very shy by nature but there somehow I came out of my shell and even made a friend:) I sweat a lot there but I am very proud of myself after each session. first time I don't give up. I am now thinking about trying something to control my cravings with certain foods. I know what not to eat I just can't help myself. Is hoodia any good?

carlieNY: I have to say I was appalled when a Curves opened up in my neighborhood in Manhattan, but my girlfreind made me go once last year, and I am now a true Curves convert. There I said it. Pls don't tell my co workers at the magazine.

Carrie: my local curves does have a changing room, and i like to go after work when i don't really have anyplace to be. So i go directy home and shower. but get this - one time when my husband and I went to Paris, i found a Curves there (not far from the Montparnasse railroad station). And that Curves had a nice locker room AND showers! maybe the US Curves will gt them someday to.

Kara: Curves is great, you know, I don't think its as ghetto as Lucille Roberts. I like the women better too, not so intense but still, trying to do it right. I've been loosing, about 1 lb/week, from going 4 days, and its feeling really good.

Donna: I go to the one in time square Carlie is that where you go too? OMG it would be so funny if we knew each other! I have only been going for 2 months now and I really like it, like Mathilda, it is the first time I dont quit an activity after trying! I am having a hard time with dieting tough so I am searching online for something that would work for me.

joycemarie: Curves is a great start. I went for 3 months, after years of doing nothing. It got me back into excercise, but after while you want more. Now I'm jogging with my girlfriends 3 times a week!

Karen_FL: I want a flat belly and also want to get rid of the cellulite on my thighs. I keep complaining about it but somehow can't get myself to do something athletics to fix it. I just read all of your posts here and let me say I have never felt so motivated to start an activity as I am now about trying out Curves! Thank you, I am gonna call and find out more about my local one and will definately post back to share my hopefully success story:)

valerieP: IS the CurvesSmart technology, really as good as the review says, thats what i;m most interested in about Curves. I was going to a gym that had some circuit traiing machines, and I could do them al quickly, but each one, only worked out one muscle group. And so if i was in a rush, I have to skip the cardio altogether on those days. i like the idea of, a personal coach and the feedback, seems pretty efficient. Probably will head down there today to sign up.

SHARA, AL: ITS REALLY GREAT AND YES VERY VERY EFFICIENT TOO. I CAN GO STRAIGHT FROM WORK AND STILL BE ABLE TO PICK UP GROCERIES AND WHAT NOT, HAVE DINNER READY BY 6:30 OR 7PM. FEEL S LIKE, I DO THE SAME AMOUNT OF WORKOUTS IN HALF THE TIME AS I WAS DOING AT MY PREVIOUS HEALTHCLUB.AND WHEN YOU TACK ON A SHOWER AND STEAM, IT WAS A FULL 2 HOURS BEFORE I D BE GETTING OUTTA THERE. WHOS GOT THE TIME FOR THAT? CURVES IS WORKING FOR ME, AND I BEEN LOSING WEIGHT PRETTY GOOD, 9 LBS IN 2 MOS SO FARS.

millie seymour: me, i just apprecite having a place to go,where i can do my exercises and not be harrassed or have to listen to some beefhead grunting while he lifts more weights than he should. i'll continue going to curves for as long as its around.

Nora: BTW you do not have to socialize and be nice to anyone if you don't feel like it. I go to curves do my thing and go to home to my love one. It's been 5 months and I feel great. It's actually interesting how you think working out will make you super tired, it's actually the opposite. When I live Curves I have tons of energy to prepare dinner and go for a walk with my dogs.

lizzie: Hey, Valerie P. i really love the CurvesSmart technology, each machine is totally customized to your individual situation and goals, and theyre tailored to make sure you get the best work out. I think its great to have that kind of knowledge about how long you have to go on each machine and how much you have achieved by the end of the workout.

rose: I'm 55 and have always been way too self concsious to set foot in a gym. I mostly get my excercise from walking my dog vince around my neighborhood, but when the weather's bad, I can't get out. They just opened a Curves in my town and I think I'll give it a go, based on what you all have said. Sounds conmfortable and fun!

joyce p.: some of you, were talking about the supplements and i wanted to chime in and say, i'm not so fond of the omega 3 supplment from Curves. gives me real fishy burps, and i haven't been able to finish the one bottle i got, 3 mos ago. i know i need 'em but this ones not doing me so well.great program but i gotta pass on these particulr pills.

Alexandra: I almost spent nearly $300 on a BodyBugg thing to monitor me all darn day long,..luckily i found out about the Curves Smart thing, which is just 30 minutes a day, much cheaper and totally effecient. Whats so cool is the machines also addjust to your personal endurance level so it gives you the right amount of challenge.

Janet_coOp: I am a member of Curves for now 8 months and like most of you it's working for me. I was wondering if any of you had tried the Protein Shake they have on their website? I am vegetarian and thought it would be a nice addition to my diet. If not that one then do you guys are a different brand you recommend? Thanks

morganna: Joyce, do not buy vitamins from Curves. I think they are just trying to market all these different things, because they are struggling a little just like everyone else these days. I think they need to just stick with what they do best, which is a simple, healthy place for ladies to get regular excercise. Get your supplements from GNC, or read reviews or just order them online - thats my 2 cents.

Denise C: I thought i could workout at home by myself using my new malibu pilate chair in my nice and quiet home, unfortunately it's just too complicated and awkward to use so it's been basically sitting in a closet now. It's a shame I spent close to 350 buck for it. I hope Curves works better for me, I am really nervous about having to working our in front of people but I think I am just gonna have to get over my fear.

cubanchic: Denise I tried that malibit pilates chair too. It sucks, it was so heavy and by the time I got it set up, I needed a nap! I've been going to curves for 2 months and I like it because I don't have to do anything except show up and do what they tell me. I met some nice ladies there too.

kay: this sounds very nice, my sister is constantly raving about Curves & geting me to join up. but harold & i, we're looking to do something to gether, in our retirement. has anyone found a similar program thats good for seniors anywhere? i;m realy not interested inthe whole gym atmosphere.

Pearl: Oh I've never done well with any at-home programs, they just die on the shelves, or in the closets, after a month or so. I stopped buying videos back in the early 90s, and don't even bother looking into things like those ab coasters or whatever, i see around. i need a place, to dedicate my time. And i've alos found a nice group of ladies at Curves, we do lunch together on Fridays after our workouts.

rebecca12: I think Curves is great for ladies over 40, but whenever I go in there, I feel like they're all judging me. I'm 17 and fat, and I feel like I'm the only one that really needs to be there! The rest of them are all built like sticks! I'll keep going for another month, maybe I'll get there someday.

MrsMorison: Rebecca darling, don't worry about other people what you are doing is wonderful, just keep in mind that you are doing it for yourself no one else. I wish they had places like that when I was your age. I was overweight and back in the day what was hip was fitness classes, I never found the courage to try it. I am finally getting in shape in my 50s and it feels wonderful.

Allison: Hi, I posted with a "thumbs down" rating a while back, & i wanted to come on here and revise my review on Curves! i think at the time when i gave it thumbs down, I was still feeling insecure about going to a public gym to work out, and i think i was envious that all the other ladies seemed to be friends already. Well, it's been a few months, and i've gotten to know them a lot better, and it's totally fun & relaxed now. I've even hung out with two of the ladies outside of the gym we went to see the movie "Sunshine Cleaning" which was just adorable. ANyway. I just wanted ot say that i judged Curves too soon, it was my own issues. I just needed to wait it out until i felt more comfortable. But the best part is that i've lost 17 lbs and counting. So, thumbs up from me, wish i could delete that other one, but since i can't im updating.

pattyj: i have to admit that sometimes I go to Curves twice a day! My husband's at work all day, and I love talking with the ladies there. I get to see different friends in the morning and afternoon classes! One of my am gals, occasionally joins me in my obsession now too, which I love.

Jenny: LOL Patty, why not go to Curves twice a day..i bet if you do 2 workouts that would add up to almost 1,000 calories burnt. maybe i will try that.

Beatrice: Do they sometimes have promotions at Curves or it does not matter when I join, it's always the same price? I like deals:) so if I can post pond a few weeks before i join to save a few bucks I will. Let me know please. Thank you!

edna L: you all are saying, that Curves is cheap but,how much is a membership gonna run me? money's tight so, i'm looking for a suitable program i can afford, just wann no, waht hte bottom line is. oh, i live in pittsburgh, if tha makes a difference.

marcia: I think you have to go to your local Curves and see what kind of deals they're offering, beatrice. I know the one near my place was really slow last summer and had a 2 week free trial period, which you could do even if you were a member that sort of stopped going for awhile. Er. like me.

ava: well the ladies at my Curves aren't built like sticks. I feel like we are all very similar. Plus i also interact with some people thru the online support tools, too, and a lot of them are as big as me or bigger. But i agree w/Mrs. morrison, it's not a good idea to always compare yourself to others. You should compare yourself to YOU.

jessie: Hey, my local Curves is currently running a "30-days for $30 " special, i just got in on that deal, which is pretty awesome. I'm in Orange County Calif. Btw,

WHITNEY: That's great to see Allison, and good for you for not giving up. I think theres a sort of stigma attached to Curves and maybe, even women judge it by thinking that women don't work as hard men, physically. So it gets a reputation for being gossipy, clique-y or not a strong workout. My mother comes from a generation where, its not "lady like" to sweat but I've gone with her and turned her around, she loves it. ITs all what you make of it.

persia: I totally agree that it is waht you make of it. I didn't go to Curves for so long, because I thought it was people that didn't really want to work out hard. Boy was I wrong, those resistance bands can be adjusted on all their machines and if you go faster than the others, you really start seeing a change in your body.

Beatrice: Thanks guys!! It sounds good, I am gonna make a few calls and find out. Thanks again.

Yohanna: I know I'm just preaching to the choir, but I love going to my Curves for a good work out! And I see such a variety of ladies there! I think because it's so cheap a lot of the young latin girls are trying it, and i say good for them! We all have the same goals!

Carlotta: I love Curves too you guys! I just wish mine had showers!

Leah: I am not sure what to think of your post Yohanna! You probably meat well but it sounds all wrong. Anyway I wanted to know if you have to sign for 12 months or if you can do kind of like a month to month kind of membership? Thanks.

joy: hi, i am on a month-to month @ my Curves I pay $39 a month which is a lil more than if you sign a year contract. I am really likeing it so i am considering going ahead with the yearly thing.

Leah: Thanks for replying Joy. $39/month sounds perfect to me.

lexianne: I only pay $30 a month for my mebership at Curves. I guess each franchise makes their own rates, depending on the neighborhood.

joy: glad to be of help leah...of course the deals probably are a little different from location to location but that oughta give you a ballpark idea. And in my opinion Curves is sooo worth it. good luck!

Stella: IS it really that cheap, just thirty bucks a month or thereabouts? My goodness, I've been paying nearly three times for the gym I go to. Or, should be going to. THe one I pay for anyway, and havent' set foot in in about 6 mos. I think something like curves might be good, especialy if I can makes ome friends that are counting on me to show up!

mistymoon: actually, i'm glad they don't have showers, bcs then i'd be worrynig about germs from the floors and what do if, i forget my shoes, etc. i like to just change at home, and walk over to Curves, and then go home to get cleaned up. saves at least 15 mintues that way, i think. anyway, its a good place, i;m thankful for it.

biscuit: thanks for all your comments I am glad I checked her first. I will book mark this site. Have a good day all. :)

Ms.W: Its quite affordable and the way the machines are set up, it makes it easy to challenge yourself. Ihad been considering hiring a trainer at the health club i went to before curves and that was gonna run me $55 a session. For the whole month at curves, i get the perosonalized workout and pay a whole lot less. never had muslce definition before this.

Charlie: I went to Curves a few years ago and loved it! I'm going to take advantage of the 30 days for $30. This time I am also eating healthier, so I think it will work for me this time. Last time, I was going, I was not dieting. I didn't lose much at all. You have to change your eating as well as exercise to lose weight. Also, I don't care if anyone talks to me because I get out of breath. I would rather concentrate on my workout.

Ms k: I have been going to curves now for 4 weeks..I have lost just over 2 lbs and 4 inches I feel sooo great about myself...My clothes fit a little better and I love that I am in and out in 30min. I did belong to a gym and never went...I dont feel like I have to make sure my hair or makeup is on I just get up and go.I love Curves.....

Amy: Not very impressed. The facility is small, so even when there aren't very many people there, it's rather cramped. The machines don't really seem to be doing anything for me after 6 months of going several times a week. The part that really stinks is that they won't let me out of the 1 year contract. Even if I stop going, they still take the money from your account. What a rip off! Not happy with it at all, I'd rather stay home, pop in a work out DVD & save a ton of money!

newsparkie: Curves works! I think it is especially good for women who are new to working out. Weight lifting is critical to weight loss and overall health and if you've never been in a gym before, all of the different machines can be a little intimidating. At Curves, you get the training, and then you just follow the circuit. Of course, like anything else, if you don't go regularly, you aren't going to see results. The 60 day challenge is especially effective. My MIL lost over 40 lbs. and has kept it off for at least 3 years. She goes at least 4 times a week. It has changed her life. She is a very active grandma! I don't belong to Curves anymore because I'm a member at a family gym and I just didn't want to pay for both memberships. I think the only downfall of Curves is that they don't have a child care facility and their hours don't always match up with my schedule. Other than that, I'd say the program is superb! It's easy and effective. You don't have to come up with a plan, you just go and get your workout done!

Gidget: Curves is great, I just had my 3rd weigh in and measurements. I've lost 5 lbs, 2 in from my waist, 1.5 in abdomen, 1.5 in hips, 2 in thighs, 1 in from my arms. Also lost 2% body fat, and 2.0 BMI! Give it a try, ladies!

Tanya: Curves was the BEST money I've ever spent on myself. After destroying my knee from slipping off some steps, I was going broke going to Physio, and I realized Curves had all the same machines to do the same exercises I was doing at Physio. My Physio Therapist told me to go for it, after showing him diagrams and instructions of all the machines. So instead of paying $40.oo per day to go to Physio, I was paying $41.oo per month to go to Curves. Over 2 1/2 years, I managed to avoid knee reconstructive surgery, lose 21 lbs, and 27 inches (overall) and get my crazy-high blood pressure down to a safe and normal level. Lots of times, I'm the youngest one there, and sometimes I'm in the middle, but I find each day I go, everyone has a smile on their face and it's just a pleasant place to go, even if I dont feel social. Other clubs made me like an uncomfortable porker, even if they were women only. Curves is a great place for real women, fat or skinny, old or young, in shape or not. I'd recommend this place to anyone. To me, Curves has just about been a life saver (regarding avoiding surgery which would have had me out of work for over a year, and broke).

cha-cha: Tanya, I couldn't have said it better myself. My 1st go around with Curves was not very successful because I was still over eating and I only went for 1 month. I am getting ready to join again. However, I will say that when I went, I felt really good! Sometimes I had to make myself get out of the car and go in, but after I left, I felt wonderful. Exercise increases the endorphins in your brain and makes your moods better. Good luck!

Johnita: I love curves it's an amazing place to workout. I went a few years ago and lost about 85 pounds and then decided I didn't need to go anymore and gained almost all the weight back. I started going back in April of this year and to date I have lost 42.6 pounds and 8.5 inches and also dropped my body fat by 8.63% so it really works and I've only been back just under 3 months in fact my 3 month mark is this Sunday and I will weigh in on Monday I'm looking forward to another good loss. Not sure if all curves do but our curves lists their top losers every month and give out t shirts or something of that nature and I was proud to be the very top looser this month at our curves and I'm really hoping I can do that again this month. It's such a motivating place.

karen from connecticut: First, let me say the good things about Curves. The staff were helpful and encouraging. The members and staff were friendly and the place was very clean. For some women, there is a need to exercise in the privacy of a women only environment. Kudos to all who go and work out with diligence. Negatives? The Curves that I attended was like a mommy and me environment. Oh gosh, who is pregnant, where are your kids going to school, etc.. ( I have no kids, so you can see where I would be bored and frustrated.) Also, the one thing that I HATE about Curves, at least 90% of the Curves in Connecticut, are the hours of operation. For us career women who get home at six, to prepare a dinner and get there by six thirty to make a seven o'clock closing is impossible. I joined during the summer, but had to give up my membership. Lastly, the equipment is NOT state of the art. How do I know? I am now happily a member of Planet Fitness where the 30 min workout area has the best equipment that I have ever used. ( I actually strained a neck muscle on the lateral muscle machine at Curves and had to go to a Chiropractor.)I pay 10 dollars a month, can go anytime between four in the morning until 10:30 at night, am greeted by a friendly staff, and have NEVER had issues with men or ladies giving me "the look". The only negative- if you are not familiar with gym equipment, you must request a trainor to take you through the machines. I love Planet Fitness. Final point, if Curves works for you, go for it. For the younger career women, ask for a trial week before you commit!

Elise: The early closing time can be a drag for sure, and there were days that I didn't get my workouts in at all due to running late. What I do is just try & get up early as possible to get my workout in for the day, and actually I feel better for it. There's lots of gyms everywhere, I jus like the environment of Curves for myself, and with my reglular workouts am getting in realy good shape.

janice: i love curves so much all the people are friendly, they are very encouraging and fun to b around. When i first started curves i lost 32 pounds in my first 3 months .And i encouraging anyone they want to lose weight to go there it won't be easy but its worth it

Pam: I've been going to Curves for years and always liked it. But I didn't really feel challenged. However, since they started SmartCurves I feel like I'm getting a great workout. I actually work up a good sweat and feel like I'm accomplishing something.

Barb: In my mid-40's, I've been a member for nearly 3 years. I've always been reasonably fit and healthy, so wasn't sure if I'd be physically challenged enough or not. I guess I must be cos I'm still there - you can work as hard or as soft as you like. I'm one of the "younger" members as the age is generally older at my gym in New Zealand (40-70 yrs), but you can only admire these older women, who are committed to staying healthy. Obviously the harder you work at diet and exercise, the more results you're going to see. I go 3-4 times a week and build up a sweat on the recovery boards, I try to push myself cos if I exercise, I want to make sure I'm getting the most out of it. I get weighed and measured religiously every month but I've lost NO weight (in fact, put on), lost NO inches or body fat! But why do I continue? Cos I know my general fitness and well-being has improved. I'm sure my recent good diabetes and cholesterol readings are the result of this regular exercise. I also know if I ate less food and had a more healthy diet, I probably would lose weight. But I haven't got my head around that yet. I'm happy to do the exercise, and continue eating whatever I want. Even though Curves is no quick-fix for me, I will probably continue cos it's a convenient 30-minute exercise programme for me. I haven't got the results I want (as in weight loss), but I know it does work.

Bonnie J.: This is the fifth fitness center I ever joined, and the only one i managed to stick to for longer than a month! I get to my Curves regularly for now 6 months, as of 2 days ago! I'm losing the weight moderately and keeping fit, theres just something about the atmosphere, and the routine, that does keep me motivtated to push on. Am hoping to feel as good in another six months.

Jodie: If you don't do some of the stations correctly, you will seriously hurt your back. My back dr. and physical therapist said they were seeing a lot of woman who got hurt at Curves. It also gets boring and is more of a social outing for older woman.

Kaelyn: FOr me, this has been a very welcome change to the fast pace and egos I see at most health clubs. i'm not into that, and at Curves, I feel very much supported, by staff and other members. Weihgts coming off, but even better, my cholesterol and blood pressuer have come dow n since exercising on a regular basis.

sarabeth: have been a member of curves for 4 years and have lost 52 lbs and kept it off. i've made a lot of changes in my lifestyle, its been a challenge, but i do owe my success in part to the program thye set me up on there.

Ella: Just noticed one in my new neighborhood, will check it out. Have heard so many mixed things about it but these reviews, are very telling of what its about, I apppreciate it.

Sandy: I did curves for 4 months and lost only 1/4 inch off each thigh and didn't lose any weight. Months 1 & 2 went 3 times a week (that's what they recommended); months 3 & 4 I went 5-6 times a week. For our eveing meals my husband & I were eating baked fish 5 times a week, spaghetti 1 day and chicken 1 day along with salad and sometime baked potatoes. We were very strict on our eating habits and had been doing this for quite some time before I started Curves and still after quitting Curves. I loved doing the exercises but it just didn't help me with losing inches or weight. I lost more inches and weight using a $60 set of 4 exercise DVDs than I did using Curves and it cost less. I had to travel out of town to go to Curves and now both places have closed after just 5 years of operation. What does that tell you? More ladies are disappointed than satisfied using Curves.

Keeley: Signed up and have been going now for one week. I relly like the stafff at my Curves location and the other women there, are friendly enough. The hours could be better but I just am adjusting my schedule so I make it & stick to a workout schedule. Think this is gonna work.

nancypants: love how the CurveSmart program keeps me motivated, beter than a personal trainer!

Tamara: To make Curves work,I really think you need o utilize everything thye have to offer. I did find the workouts to get,a littel repetetive but they have added things to make it more challenging, and I also think the Curves Complete program is helping me, with the meal plans and support groups and everything.

Anastasia: Well, I'm not looking for antying too extreme, just need to get started on a workout plan without feeling like, people are laughing at me for not doing something right. Sounds like, Curves might be a good fit fo rme.

honeypie321: at first i really thought curves would be, well sorta cheesy. but its a real fitness center, and i can tell that lots of other women there, are also committed to getting in better shape.i'm really getting more out of than i expected to.

Quinn: WOnder how much it cost to buy a Curves franchise, I really think our community, could use another one. Getting a bit crowded.

SHARRI: FOr me, I would not say its the most innovative or challenging program I've ever done but I really do like the other members andI look forward to my time at Curves. Its sorta more of a social thing, but, better to work out than to eat pastries or drink martinis.

tenille: i love curves! lost 32 lbs on the program!

gayle P: Have been going back and forth, to join Curves or the club my husband goes to. But he goes at 5:30 am anyway so we wouldn't work out together. I'm fairly new to the town, maybe this is a better way to meet people as i'm working out.

Mrs Smythe: ITs my solace. I can get away from my husband and kids for a bit and there's no possibility of them joining me. This center, for me, is a blessing in many ways.

berna: thx so much for all the comments, its helped me to decide, to join the curves down the street from my work. i hope i like it as much as most o f you.

kristin H.: you get out of it what you put into it, like anything else.

Allison R.: ITs quite affordable and a decent program. I don;t know that, I'll stick with Curves for ever but for now, its keeping me motivated enough.

Kitty: I visited my local Curves and did the circuit twice, and didn't even break a sweat. There was very loud techno-pop muscic playing, loud enough to hamper conversation without shouting. You only get to do about 3 or 4 reps on the machines before you have to jump off to allow someone else to use it. No one brought or used a towel to wipe off the machine after they used it. After you complete the circuit, you are supposed to sit on the floor for stretching excercises. The carpeting was dirty, and it was in a high traffic area, where people walked in and out. After the workout, I sat down with a staff member to discuss the terms of enrollment. I was informed that in addition to the monthly/yearly fee, there was a $199.00 "enrollment fee." When she saw my reaction, she immediately said, "Oh, but if you join right now we are running a special; the enrollment fee is only $99.00". When I asked why such a large fee for just enrolling, she became very angry and snapped, "you can just talk to the manager if you have a problem with that!" and got up and left the table. After I went to the front desk, I was informed that there was no one to talk to, so I left.

carolyn: having not worked out in quite a few years, joining curves has been a good start for me to begin a program. never have been abuut the hiigh intensity workouts but i do stil feel that this is working. guess i gotta have patience to start seeing changes. am sleeping better with the increased activigty so thats a good thing.

SadieB.: That sounds like a real frustrating experience Kitty, I probably woulda just walked out too! Guess I lucked out with my location, the staff is allways attentive & accomodating at the Curves I go to. I'm entering my fifth month on the progra m and am please with the results. Slow going, I suppose, for some but for me, to lose 17 lbs since I started, feels really good & encouraging that I'm at least doing something right. AM not concerned about this weagiht coming back eiter, which is a big deal.

terryjobaldwin: what i like to do is try & mix this up. i do some home workouts 3 days per week, either walking with leslie sansone or pilates or something, and go into Curves 3 days per week. i've been losing faster since i started to mx it up more. ithink you just have to make it work for you, i mean, there's no other place like this for me to go in my town & i do like having the suport i getfrom it.

Bridgett: Hi ladies, I have been going to Curves for two years now, and I have to disagree with a few things I've read here. First, it really irks me when someone says - [Curves is only good for jump starting your workout and that after a while you need more.] Not only is this NOT true but it also feeds into the incorrect assumption that Curves is only for old ladies. I am 29 years old and as I mentioned earlier have been a member for a little over two years. I started going to Curves for the same reason that most women do - I wanted more personal coaching without the price tag of a personal trainer. I admit that when I first started I thought it was going to be too easy. However, I soon learned that no one ever has to "outgrow" their Curves! Because of the hydraulics, the harder you push the more you get out of it. It's all about focusing and consciously increasing your effort each time. When my Curves installed the Curves Smart system, it made all the difference in the world!! Those of us that made sure we always worked as hard as we could, were the most surprised by how much harder we were able to push with the Smart system. It's amazing how competing with only yourself (and a little green light) could make such a significant improvement in your workout! If you haven't noticed, I love my Curves! It is always clean and decorated for holidays. The women are very friendly, and most of us are pushing so hard now since "Smart" that we can only talk on the squares. Okay, so my point here is that it is up to each one of us to do our BEST and continue to INCREASE our workout to see the best results. After all, if you just continue doing things the same, including your workout, then why would you expect anything to change? Your bodies get used to the routine, you have to keep tricking it by increasing your intensity - at least that's what my circuit coach always tells us. Oh, did I mention that I lost 72 pounds in 7 months? Well I did! That was my goal and I never dreamed I would reach it so fast by simply eating five healthy meals each day! Was it the Curves diet plan? Of course it was! Alrighty then, I'm done raving. I do get passionate about this because I have so many friends that laughed and tried to get me to go to a real gym with them, but I am proud to say that at this point I am happier and more fit then they are. They would all tell you the same thing since not one of them are still going to their gym. In fact I was able to convert three of them, who are now true Curves supporters! BTW: Those Curves supplements, i.e.: Protein shakes, vitamins, cereal, & even the protein bars, are all made by the same manufacturer as other top brands! Yes, even the vitamins. Trust me; it's what I do for a living.

Janey: Joined Curves lastmonth and are thankful to have this to get me through the holidays. I've gotten intoa good routine that I sure hope can help me continue to lose, and not gain my usual 10lbs from nov-jan.

Roxy: I absolutely love Curves! It's the easiest way to get me to sweat bullets 3 to 4 days a week. And even if I get a little bored with it, I know that there are other women like me there to talk to, or I can push myself even harder and challenge myself. Those machines can take anything!

Curves

It is well documented that women have different health and fitness needs than men, especially for those trying to burn fat and slim down or tone the body and build muscle strength. Besides eating right and meeting our daily nutritional requirements, it is also important to exercise on a regular basis. The problem for many women is that either they don’t have time to work out every day, or they are wasting their time on exercises, gym memberships and products that are not built with their unique needs in mind.

Thankfully, there are the select few alternatives that have rated very well on health and fitness websites, as well as being supported by many consumer success stories. A chain of fitness centers called Curves is regarded for offering workout solutions for women who know what they want to accomplish, but may not be sure what they have to do to get there. The health and fitness centers are said to be very thorough, with professionals guiding women with the latest technology, hands on care and a wealth of knowledge.

 Fitness Center at a Glance
Many women lead busy lives, often balancing their professional and personal commitments and rarely having time to take care of their health and fitness needs. At some point, our bodies may begin to break down, with weight gain and lack of energy among the common signs of poor maintenance. We can make an effort to exercise by going for a jog in the morning or perhaps joining a gym, but it is often difficult to stay on track without the proper guidance.

This is where Curves is believed to play an important role in supporting the fitness needs of women. Through a structured, yet flexible, program that takes the goals of each individual and develops a focused routine, women are able to get the most out of their time and energy. No matter how many crunches we do, or how long we jog every morning, all of our efforts may be in vain unless we monitor our progress and address the specific needs of our bodies.

 Fitness Center in Focus
The advantage of Curves appears to be that women with very different needs are able to reach their goals by sticking to similar 30 minute sessions. Unlike standard fitness plans, women are able to get a complete workout each session. Of course, there are trainers and specialists on hand to guide participants through the process, but there really is no secret; by customizing our workouts to burn fat, tone our bodies or to accomplish both, participants make optimal use of their time and energy.

By combining strength training exercises with cardio, this particular approach to fitness is said to enable women to burn up to 500 calories per 30 minute session. The routines are based on circuit training, with resistance machines and systems that cover all of the major muscle groups. But the difference here is believed to be the ability to work out two muscles at a time, as opposed to spending time on each muscle by performing a series of inefficient routines.

Many gyms, studios and fitness centers advertise that they use only the highest tech machines based on the latest technology, but most of these systems end up being the same. Additionally, many of these devices may be difficult to operate, and some may even be dangerous to operate. But this fitness center uses a type of technology called CurvesSmart, which incorporates a personal coaching system into every workout. This enables participants to get real time feedback as they are working out, in addition to automatic adjustments in response to our body’s endurance. Progress reports also detail how many calories we’ve burned and how close we are to reaching our desired balance of fitness and strength.

 Lifestyle
It is important for women to be able to have easy access to their fitness products, programs or centers, especially if they are serious about their goals and want to put themselves in the best position to succeed. That is apparently why Curves has more than 10,000 locations at this time, making the brand one of the most accessible fitness centers across the globe. At the time of this review, centers are located in metropolitan areas as well as in suburban and rural locations in the U.S. and overseas.

In addition to access to the state of the art circuit systems, qualified trainers and many other resources, the company also offers supplements and healthful food items to offer further health and wellness support. It is no secret that eating right is just as important as exercising for those who want to slim down. To that end, the company offers granola bars, snacks and other foods that are known to be nutritious without compromising on taste.

Some of the supplements available from the company at this time include the Multivitamin, the Calcium formula, the Protein Shake, the Omega 3 formula, the Joint and Connective Tissue Support, Glucose Management, PMS formula and the Herbal Fem/Women’s Support formula. These supplements are regarded for being 100 percent all natural and for supplying the wide selection of nutrients we need on a daily basis. It is not clear if any of the products contain Hoodia, one of the most promising natural appetite suppressants, but this need can be met via other supplements.

 Positives
• The workouts are efficient, 30 minute sessions
• The routines exercise multiple muscles simultaneously
• The exercises are said to support cardio and strength training
• The fitness center has thousands of locations across the globe
• The workouts are geared specifically toward meeting women’s needs
• Many user success stories can be found on the official website
• The company has its own line of foods and nutritional supplements
• The fitness centers have attained high scores on rating sites online

 Negatives
• The company may not have locations in remote areas of the world
• Pricing information may not be easy to locate on the official website
• The products may not be available for purchase online at this time

 Final Thoughts
There seem to be new products and diet and fitness concepts being introduced to the market every day, but in the end it simply comes down to the basics: eating right and exercising. The market likes to throw all kinds of fitness products and systems our way, but most of these are not likely to be versatile enough to meet the wide ranging needs of women today. That’s why it helps to be able to meet both our cardio and strength training needs without eating up too much of our time.

Curves has long been considered one of the leaders in the women’s health and fitness industry, but the company never seems to have changed up its approach to supporting women’s goals. Members and past participants appear to have only positive things to say about their experiences, with most testimonials touching on the fact that they were able to achieve their goals without spending hours in the gym.

The company also appears to have drawn very high scores and votes on some of the leading consumer health and wellness websites, which track all of the products, services and programs on the market. According to many of these resources, the fitness center chain has rated highly in the areas of overall user satisfaction, as well as ease of use, value and customer support. In addition, the majority of comments indicate that past members would return should the need arise.
